Jimmy Carter Pops Up And Blames Israel Over Iran

I thought Groundhog Day was last month. But, I guess any discussion regarding Israel defending itself wouldn’t be complete without the input of a miserable failure at being POTUS, and a rabid anti-Semite

(Washington Times) Former President Jimmy Carter expressed concerns Tuesday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be too willing to go to war with Iran.

“I don’t think that’s his first preference, but I think he’s much more eager to go to war with Iran than President Obama [is]. And I was glad to see President Obama discourage that immediate resumption of hostilities between Israel and its neighbors that the Israelis seem to be inclined to do,” the former president said in an interview with The Washington Times-affiliated “America’s Morning News” radio broadcast.

See? It’s all Israel’s fault, a notion I’m quite sure most Liberals agree with. Because those Iranian Mullahs and leaders like Ahmadinejad are so trustworthy as to be allowed to complete their nuclear weapons program. It’s not like they’ve said multiple times that they want to see Israel wiped off the map or something.

“I think the economic sanctions would be adequate,” Mr. Carter added. “War with Iran can and should be avoided.”

Yes, war with Iran should be avoided if possible. But, Iran is attempting to become a nuclear weapons nation. And sanctions haven’t worked. They haven’t worked regarding their nuclear program, and they didn’t work when Iranians attacked the US embassy in Tehran (an act of war according to the Geneva Convention), taking Americans hostage, and Carter imposed them. And then did pretty much nothing else. There was no threat of war, allowing this Islamic fundamentalist state to rise and become the largest supporter of terrorism. But, there have been sanctions ever since. How’s that worked out, Mr. Carter?

Mr. Carter said he has met recently with the Muslim Brotherhood’s political and religious leadership, and “they know it’s very important to Egypt to maintain peace with Israel.”

“They assured me personally — and they have made public statements accordingly — that they will honor the peace treaty that I helped to negotiate back in 1979 … and I don’t have any doubt that they will carry out their promise to me.”

Was that assurance given before or after the Muslim Brotherhood threatened to review the peace treaty mid-February? But, then, I’m sure the Muslim Brotherhood is smart enough to understand that Carter is an idiot, anti-Israel, and a dupe, and will believe whatever they tell him.

Sandra Fluke Is Simply The Latest Excuse For Liberals To Get Conservatives Off The Airwaves

If Sandra Fluke thinks her far left comrades really care about her, perhaps she should ask Cindy Sheehan about her own 15 minutes of Liberal fame. Once Cindy became old news and inconvenient, she was unceremoniously dumped by the hard left. The Left is simply using Fluke as a means to attempt to get Rush Limbaugh off the radio. Rush stepped in it with his comments, put, poorly, and then doubling down, which gave Liberals all the excuse they needed to make the attempt to drive Rush out. This is what they have tried to do to conservative/Republican voices for decades.

Liberals are truly unhappy that anyone on the political Right can have a public forum to discuss their viewpoints. Rush, Hannity, Levin, Beck, Savage (I’m not a fan, BTW, but, I just turn the channel), Ingraham, Fox News, Townhall, and Weekly Standard are among the limited amount of conservative outlets Liberals want shut down. And it really ticks liberals off that these sources are so damned successful, particularly when Liberals are miserable failures on cable news and radio. Even liberals don’t want to listen or watch their own. This is what is behind their push for a “fairness” doctrine. And what is behind their campaign to get Rush’s advertisers to pull their money. And, they aren’t restricting their unhinged tirades to Rush: now they are going after the radio stations

(Raleigh N&O) As Rush Limbaugh continued to apologize Monday for his derogatory comments about a female college student last week, the Triangle radio station that bears the conservative talk show host’s name was being targeted by some who question its relationship with UNC-Chapel Hill athletics.

WRDU-FM – which calls itself “Rush Radio” – mostly stayed silent Monday about the controversy that has caused at least 10 national advertisers to drop or suspend their business with Limbaugh’s program. The outcry was sparked last week when Limbaugh took on Georgetown University student Sandra Fluke after she testified in support of President Barack Obama’s contraceptive health care coverage plan.

Though much of WRDU’s program consists of conservative talkers such as Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity, the station also is home to UNC’s Tar Heel Sports Network in the Triangle, which broadcasts UNC basketball and football.

On Monday, James Protzman, a liberal blogger for BlueNC.org, spoke out about UNC’s association with Rush Radio and emailed UNC Chancellor Holden Thorp asking him to rethink the relationship.

“It doesn’t make a lot of sense for the flagship university of North Carolina to be associating itself with the kinds of things we hear on Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh,” Protzman said.

Liberals are attempting to now get UNC to drop it’s use of WRDU as platform for UNC sports, which is also a way of trying to get WRDU to choose between UNC or Rush. Fortunately, UNC, not exactly the most right leaning university out there, has told  BlueNC to go pound sand. Did I mention that UNC is a public university, part of the North Carolina chain of taxpayer funded schools? That would mean Liberals are pushing….censorship.

So far, 30 organizations have felt the wrath of liberal venom, and have dropped their advertisements of Rush’s program. Twenty nine listed here, Netflix makes 30. Eh. I use none of them except JC Penny’s (they carry all the major brands of pants down here in Raleigh).

Rush can say he’s sorry till he’s blue in the face, and it would make no difference. When a Conservative in the public domain says something mean, the vitriol simply masks the true motive, which is getting them off the air. If a liberal says something mean, like, say, calling Laura Ingraham a slut, they get a paid suspension for a week, which liberals are upset over. When they are called a c*nt, we’re told that it’s “entertainment”. When a liberal makes a joke about a 14 year old being raped by a ball player, it was just a bad joke. When the president of the United States refers to Tea Party members as “tea baggers”, liberals laugh. I don’t remember the liberals being outraged by this uncivil language. I remember them defending and saying “just move on.”

Expect the liberal censorship campaign to continue, and, oh, hey, look, the calls for the “fairness doctrine” have started.

PS: Michelle Malkin points out that Capital One has dropped Rush, but has kept “serial misogynist Alec Baldwin.”

“Car” With Temporarily Suspended Assembly Line Named Euroweenie Car Of The Year

Yes, if course we are talking about the uber fashionable and rarely purchased Chevy Meltdown, er, Volt

(MSNBC) It’s been a tough year for the Chevrolet Volt, General Motors’ once-celebrated plug-in hybrid. But perhaps it’s about to see its fortunes turn as a jury of Continental motoring journalists declare Volt and its Opel Ampera sibling the European Car of the year.

That victory comes 14 months after the Volt took North American Car of the Year honors –but, oh, how much has happened in-between. Just last week, GM announced it will shut down production of Volt and Ampera for five weeks due to excess inventory, a problem exacerbated by reports that several Volt battery packs caught fire after U.S. crash tests.

Let me run a few names by you (doing this on my Droid phone, so no bullet list) : 1980 Chevy Citation. 1983 Renault Alliance. 1976 Plymouth Volare. 1974 Ford Mustang II. Chrysler Cirrus. Oh, and how about the 1999 Volkswagen Beetle, a car reviewers called a car that was better to be seen in than to drive? Or the 2001 PT Cruiser? Like all the aforementioned vehicles, it was named a Car Of The Year. 2001 was also the year that the Prius was introduced around the world (NHW11 model). No one was giving it car of the year awards. Though, it did come in 3rd for the European award that year.

Verum Serum is highly amused at the award, considering they can’t sell them.

Climate Change Could Kill 900 Tropical Bird Species, Belief In Darwinism

Warmists just really can’t help themselves

(IBT) Up to 900 species of tropical birds could go extinct by the year 2100 because of climate change, according to a new study.

The expected average temperature increase of 6.3 degree Fahrenheit (3.5 degree Celsius) could extinguish hundreds of bird species that struggled to adapt to habitat loss and extreme weather events, the authors wrote.

Climate change would force birds towards the Earth’s pole or to higher elevations where temperatures are cooler, according to the study authors. Researchers expect the pole-ward movement to crowd habitats, increase competition and spread disease.

My goodness, what have birds done in the past when the weather got warm or cold? Did they all die off during the Medieval Warm Period then magically appear during the Little Ice Age? How’d they survive the last glacial period? Adapt? Apparently, belief in globull warming has destroyed liberal belief in Darwin’s hypothesis.

Unless society reels in greenhouse gas emissions and reduces consumption of fossil fuels, “we face the prospect of an out-of-control climate that will not only lead to enormous human suffering, but will also trigger the extinction of countless organisms, among which tropical birds will be but a fraction of the total,” (study lead author Cagan) Sekercioglu said in a statement.

Ah. So, advocacy disguised as science.

Will Super Tuesday See Romney Rise And Not-Romney’s Drop Out?

Will Romney win big? Will Santorum win big? Will Newt win Georgia? Will Ron Paul win the militia vote and still be irrelevant? Will any contenders drop out? Questions to be answered by the end of the day

(Daily Caller) It’s Super Tuesday, which means today is the busiest day yet of the 2012 Republican race for president with 419 delegates up for grabs in 10 states across the country.

A Romney victory over Santorum in Ohio would contribute to the growing notion that the former Massachusetts governor is becoming the inevitable nominee. His advisers are exuding confidence that Tuesday will be a good day.

Depends on the margin of victory.

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich is counting on a must-win in the Peach State, whose 76 delegates are the most at stake of all the states, to keep his campaign alive. Gingrich also needs strong finishes in Tennessee and Oklahoma to stay competitive.

“Let’s be clear: I have to win Georgia, I think, to be credible in the race,” Gingrich told the Marietta Daily Journal.

If he doesn’t, will this be the end of Newt? Or will he stick around to be a spoiler, to game the system, much in the way Ron Paul has?

The other candidate in the race, Texas Rep. Ron Paul, has not yet won a state in the 2012 contest. But he’s hoping to pull off wins in Idaho, North Dakota and Alaska. All three states hold caucuses — contests at which Paul’s avid supporters excel.

I’m sure he can count on the far, far, far right militia vote, based on his newsletters….OK, cheap shot. Why is Paul still in this race? He has no chance of winning, he adds little to the debate, heck, most aren’t even bothering to make fun of him anymore, meaning he is mostly ignored. I know I’m upsetting Paul supporters, but, realistically, all Paul can do is create a minor kerfuffle with his few delegates come convention time.

Politico has 10 things to watch, which includes who wins Ohio, what is Romney’s margin of victory, can Gingrich place 2nd anywhere, where do the Catholic and Evangelic votes go, and, how do women vote? A poll by the Washington Times of GOP primary voters suggests that there are many who think the contraception debate is a loser.

Their fight with President Obama over contraceptive coverage is becoming a losing battle for Republicans, a significant chunk of whom reject GOP leaders’ stance that it’s a fight about religious liberty, according to the latest Washington Times/JZ Analytics poll.

A fact that should thrill liberals is that 30.2% of the respondents think the issue of the contraception mandate is more about women’s health than about religious freedom. Unfortunately, the GOP was not able to get the message out, they allowed the media and Democrats (but, I repeat myself) to frame the narrative, and, let’s face it, the Rush Limbaugh kerfuffle derailed the efforts. Which is why most of the candidates have focused on the economy and energy prices. It also shows that even Republicans have been brainwashed by the “I’m entitled” society.

ACLU On Targeted Killing: We’re Cool With Obama, But, We Don’t Trust Future Presidents

On first blush, I wrote the headline to reflect that it was weird for the ACLU to even attack Holder and Obama. How often do they do that? Not that often, and, the attacks are generally soft. They haven’t even bothered with Fast and Furious. On targeted killing, yes, they ACLU has been all over this, but, not to the degree had Bush still been president

(ACLU) In a speech today at Northwestern University School of Law, Attorney General Eric Holder spoke on national security issues and addressed the government’s targeted killing program.

“While the speech is a gesture towards additional transparency, it is ultimately a defense of the government’s chillingly broad claimed authority to conduct targeted killings of civilians, including American citizens, far from any battlefield without judicial review or public scrutiny,” said Hina Shamsi, director of the American Civil Liberties Union’s National Security Project.

Terrorists are now civilians? As to “far from the battlefield”, that’s because they’re, well, terrorists, and aren’t fielding armies. Instead, they field nutjobs who tend to attack…..civilians away from any battlefield. But, to be fair, they do have a small point in terms of targeting American citizens, even if they have essentially renounced their citizenship by declaring war on the United States.

“Few things are as dangerous to American liberty as the proposition that the government should be able to kill citizens anywhere in the world on the basis of legal standards and evidence that are never submitted to a court, either before or after the fact. Anyone willing to trust President Obama with the power to secretly declare an American citizen an enemy of the state and order his extrajudicial killing should ask whether they would be willing to trust the next president with that dangerous power.”

Got that? While it is a slight shot at (NMP) Obama, what if one of those dastardly Republicans should win the White House? What kind of mayhem could they produce from the use of targeted killings?

I’ll admit, based on the actions so far, I do trust Obama to some degree on targeted killings. He’s been judicious with its usage. The killings of Al Awlaki and other Americans who joined Al Qaeda and declared war on America got what was coming to them. Despite some liberal hand wringing, he’s not ramping it up, he’s not extending it to domestic soil, and he’s keeping it focused in areas where murderous Islamist wackjobs reside in the Middle East and northeast Africa. BTW, when’s he giving back the Nobel Peace Prize?

However, it is rather interesting in the way Holder described the program

“Some have argued that the president is required to get permission from a federal court before taking action against a United States citizen who is a senior operational leader of Al Qaeda or associated forces,” Mr. Holder said. “This is simply not accurate. ‘Due process’ and ‘judicial process’ are not one and the same, particularly when it comes to national security. The Constitution guarantees due process, not judicial process.”

It’s nice that he included that bit about “senior operational leader of Al Qaeda or associated forces”, but, on one hand, Article 4 of the Bill of Rights requires a warrant, which is issued by a court. But, the 5th Amendment states

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

There is some debate revolving around whether the section I’ve put in bold is over-ridden by the end part. Either way, I expect liberals to get out in the streets and demonstrate against the Obama administration’s clear war on Muslims.

BTW, no, the 14th Amendment on due process doesn’t factor in: it’s about the state and local governments having to follow federal law.

Oops: CNN Points Out That The Chevy Volt Is An Overpriced Golf Cart

Someone’s surely earned themselves a profanity laced tirade from the White House Obama Campaign

(CNN) Despite winning a trophy case worth of awards — including Motor Trend Car of the Year and North American Car of the Year — the Chevrolet Volt plug-in car has failed to meet GM’s sales expectations.

The problem is simple: The car’s price is simply too high for most customers to swallow, according to analysts.

Well, there is something to that: even most rich folks aren’t willing to shell out $40,000 for a car that goes 35 miles per charge

The Chevrolet Volt is a so-called “range-extended electric car.” It can go about 35 miles on a fully charged battery before a gasoline engine generates power for further driving.

Well, even I have to defend the Volt: most who’ve test driven find the range to be more like 50-70 miles (with no heat or AC on, of course.) But, the point is still the same: what’s the point if you end up using the gas engine? For that kind of money, I could buy a fully loaded Prius or Escape Hybrid, and have money left over for a nice vacation.

California Lawmaker Wants To Protect Kids From Evil…..Food Trucks

Said lawmaker must have been indoctrinated a few too many times while listening to Michelle Obama

(KTLA) A California state lawmaker believes food trucks are contributing to childhood obesity, and wants to keep them farther than marijuana dispensaries from schools.

Assemblyman William Monning (D-Carmel) chairs the Assembly Health Committee. Monning wants to ban all food trucks and pushcarts from within 1,500 feet of elementary, middle and high schools from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on school days. Pot stores must be located at least 600 feet from schools.

Monning says that, although there are some trucks specializing in healthy gourmet food, those trucks make up a small percentage of the vendors. The other trucks are contributing to an epidemic of childhood obesity on California school campuses by supplying youngsters with greasy burgers, sodas and other high-calorie food, according to Monning.
