St. Greta Demands Facebook Silence Her Critics, Else She’ll Quit The Site

She’s doing a great job in putting “tyrannical psycho”  on her resume, something we all know Climate cultists to be. They always talk about having discussions to change minds, but, are unwilling to listen and want dissenters shut down

From the link

The celebrated Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has threatened to quit Facebook if the social media platform refuses to silence her critics.

“I am, like many others, questioning whether I should keep using Facebook or not,” Thunberg wrote in a Facebook post last week. “Allowing hate speech, the lack of fact-checking and, of course, the issues of interfering with democracy… are among many, many other things that are very upsetting.”

“The constant lies and conspiracy theories about me and countless others, of course, result in hate, death threats and ultimately violence. This could easily be stopped if Facebook wanted to. I find the lack of taking responsibility very disturbing,” she added. (snip)

Yet Ms. Thunberg is finding criticism enervating, suggesting that those who oppose her crusade are “interfering with democracy” and should be censored by Facebook.

The climate icon urged her fans to “challenge” Facebook to silence her antagonists, insisting that “if enough of us demand change — then change will come.”

See, what she calls “hate speech” is simply speech which disagrees with her cultish beliefs. Sure, there will be some threatening nuts, welcome to the world, especially social media, which is often a cesspool. And, it would be easy to say she’s just a young, uneducated idiot being used by the Cult of Climastrology for her dictatorial demands of censorship, but, this is what the CoC is about: at their heart they are Fascists, and brook no dissent.

Trump Admin Considers Adding More Nations To So-Called Travel Ban

Good grief, it’s simply horrible that they want to attempt to keep people who hate the United States and would like to do the nation harm out, right? But, wait, do I see some quid pro quo here?

Trump officials weigh adding more countries to travel ban list: report

The Trump administration is considering adding more countries to its travel ban list, an immigration measure taken by the Trump Administration that has sparked outrage from many Americans.

The contemplation stems from inter-agency discussions revolving around nations that do not comply with digital document and information sharing, a topic that is a focal point for President Trump, CNN reports.

An official told the news network that the goal would be to “bring governments into compliance by using the power of access to the United States.” Reportedly, less than five countries are being considered.

Strange, it’s almost like the U.S. government is attempting to change the behavior of foreign governments using the carrot and stick method. Quid quo pro? You know, pretty much the way politics, especially international politics, works? Nations do not have friends, they have interests, as the saying goes.

Trump and his administration have long argued that the travel ban is essential to national security, but critics of the bill say that it targets countries that have large populations of Muslim citizens.

Currently, the list includes Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen, along with Venezuela and North Korea.

North Korea and Venezuela have large Muslim populations? The other 5 are seriously problematic nations. People have a problem with blocking citizens of those nations? Really? Oh, right, Trump Derangement Syndrome.

The Department of Homeland Security consistently assesses the countries on the list and their compliance with the rules of the order. For instance, Chad was taken off the list after the White House reported that the African country had improved its security measures, according to CNN.

Sounds like quid pro quo.

Congressional Democrats have continuously pushed back against the policy.

“The Muslim ban has not made us safer,” Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) said at a House hearing on the ban in September.

Jerry wants to let more people from nations with large Islamic terrorist problems into the U.S.? Good to know. According the CNN article

An inter-agency discussion about imposing travel restrictions on countries that are not compliant with electronic documents and information sharing — a key focus of the administration — is underway, according to a senior administration official. Fewer than five countries are under consideration, the official said.

I bet there will be some quid pro quo involved.

Fairy Tales Are Perfect To Discuss ‘Climate Change’ At Halloween Or Something

There’s some subtle TDS in this, as well

Fairy tales, climate change, and a spook-tacular invitation for youth

Every fall, I loved to teach folktales and fairy tales, setting the stage for the most imaginative holiday, Halloween. One of my favorite stories was The Emperor’s New Clothes. Remember that story? — The Emperor was a dull, boorish, clotheshorse who fell under the spell of thieves and “bought” or really imagined he bought, beautiful new clothes from the thieves who pretended to be weavers.

Those pretend weavers told the Emperor that the so-called clothes would be invisible to simpletons or to those not fit for their positions. Many in the land heard this fabricated story, and when the Emperor sent nobility to check on the clothes, the nobles, for fear of losing their jobs, told the Emperor that the thieves’ invisible garments were beautiful.

Yes, this story sounds a lot like today’s times…

Subtle.

There are different versions of the Emperor’s response to the finished product. Some say the Emperor believed that he saw the beautiful outfits right away; others disagreed, claiming the Emperor was not so sure, but decided to pretend and participate in a royal parade, sporting nothing but his underwear.

Disagreement is okay, because democratic schooling values multiple perspectives and the exchange of ideas and views.

Funny, because Warmists and Leftists are utterly intolerant of opposing views, which is actually shown in the rest of the article

This Emperor, however, was not of that ilk.  He refused to tolerate disagreement.  He proceeded with the parade walking in his underwear, just like some of our leaders continue this day. The Emperor walked past a child who was shouting the truth; that the Emperor was not wearing any clothes. Some of the courtesans heard that child and saw through the the fake weaver’s charade. And they, too, chimed in that the Emperor was parading in his underwear.

Activist Greta Thunberg is a student, not a child, but the story of The Emperor’s New Clothes is an apt metaphor for her experience. Some key adults who have the power to mitigate the climate crisis are averting their eyes, not listening to her presentations (or reviewing the science)—and even mocking Greta.  Thankfully, the majority of U.S. citizens recognize the climate hoax and know how to treat every person with dignity.

She’s a student? Seems she’s been blowing off school every Friday, and is now blowing off school for a year. Perhaps many of the adults, with all their schooling and life experience, know a bit more than the perfect example of an indoctrinated, brainwashed member of the Cult of Cliamastrology

Follow Up On The Thumb

If you’re interested, saw the doctor yesterday, confirmed there is a tiny chip out of the bottom of my thumb, the tip bone back near the joint. No need to cut it open to get it out, thankfully. Lots of bruising, ligaments a bit tight. Some swelling.

Healing pretty good. Needed lots of pain meds Friday and Saturday, only late day Sun and before sleep, one before sleep Monday and Tuesday, nothing Wednesday or today. Just acetaminophen. Don’t even need a splint, but, wearing a thin plastic one against bumping. Probably hurts more with it on than without.

Now the fun part to see if I can get my left contact out with my left thumb tonight. Looked like I had pink eye Saturday, as was so hard to get out with right hand Friday night.

Happy Halloween!

Say, What Does The World Look Like In 2030 After Winning The War On Hotcoldwetdry?

You won’t feel a thing. It won’t affect you at all. Everything will be awesome and perfect!

This is what 2030 could look like if we win the war on climate change

By 2030, your CO2 emissions will be greatly reduced. Meat on your dinner table will be a rare sight. Water and the air you breathe will be cleaner and nature will be in recovery. The money in your wallet will be spent on being with family and friends, not on buying goods. Saving the climate involves huge change, but it could make us much happier at the same time.

See? No change

Right now, we are losing the fight against climate change – but what would winning look like? What is life like in a green world?

Here’s one version of a “CO-topia”:

You walk out of your front door in the morning into a green and liveable city, where concrete has dwindled and green facades and parks are spreading. If you choose to call a car, an algorithm will calculate the smartest route for the vehicle and pick up a few other people on the way.

Since the city council’s ban on private cars in the city, lots of new mobility services have arrived. It is cheaper for you not to own your own car, which, in turn, reduces congestion so you arrive at your destination more easily and quickly and don’t have to spend time looking for somewhere to park. You can also choose to travel by bike, scooter or public transit.

(many more things which are supposed to be awesome, skip to the end)

If we consider what the future could be, picking up the mantle against climate change may not seem so bad after all.

Yeah, everything is great. Your life is controlled by the Government, you don’t have that much money to buy things because the cost of living is sky high and government takes a lot more of it, you can’t really go anywhere, your home is tiny, and nothing has changed with the climate, since the changes are mostly natural.

But, now that you’ve given all your choice, freedom, and liberty up to government, you don’t know how to get it back.

CNN: Asthma Sufferers Need To Change Their Medicine To Stop ‘Climate Change’

I’m waiting for the members of the Cult of Climastrology to complain about the wrapper waste from tampons as well as OTC and prescription medicine containers

Those asthma sufferers are just so darned selfish, wanting to breath and stuff. Here we go

Asthma sufferers could sharply reduce their carbon footprint by swapping commonly used inhalers for “greener” alternatives, a study from the University of Cambridge has found.

By swapping metered-dose inhalers for dry powder inhalers, users could reduce their carbon emissions equivalent to reducing their meat consumption or recycling, researchers said Wednesday.

But patients have been warned not to make such changes without medical advice.

These inhalers are evil

Metered-dose inhalers contain liquified, compressed gas hydrofluoroalkane (HFA) — a greenhouse gas — which acts as a propellant to atomize the drug being delivered and to pump it out to the user.

Seven out of 10 of the 50 million inhalers prescribed in England in 2017 were metered-dose inhalers.

Researchers found that these metered-dose inhalers contribute 3.9% of the carbon footprint of the UK’s National Health Service (NHS).

ZOMG!

But the higher up-front price of some dry powder inhalers was a “significant barrier” when moving to such alternatives.

Huh.

“We recognize the need to protect the environment, but it’s critically important that people with asthma receive the medicines they need to stay well and avoid a life-threatening asthma attack,” Jessica Kirby, Head of Health Advice at Asthma UK, said in a statement.

They need to suffer for the planet.

Impeachment Inquiry Resolution Is Basically An Open Ended “Investigate Everything Trump”

They just can’t get over that Donald Trump won the 2016 election and that he’s not willing to bend the knee to what Democrats want. Also, that Donald Trump is more than willing to attack Democrats back, often with twice the smack

House Impeachment Resolution Authorizes Fishing Expedition Probes that Go Far Beyond Ukraine

The House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry resolution would officially authorize probes into U.S. President Donald Trump that are unrelated to the Ukraine-linked allegations that triggered the investigation to impeach him, including efforts to obtain the commander in chief’s tax returns.

Unveiled on Tuesday, the text of the resolution states that the measure orders “certain committees” to continue investigating whether there is sufficient evidence to impeach Trump and “for other purposes,” without explaining what those purposes are.

In other words, the resolution, expected to be voted on this week, would authorize any ongoing Trump investigations under the sun. The measure is expansive, breathing new life into a wide range of non-Ukraine probes, including an ongoing investigation by the House Judiciary Committee into whether Trump paid money to silence sexual affairs accusations.

Echoing some Republican lawmakers, the White House has rejected the resolution as an “illegitimate sham.”

House Democrat impeachment investigators are supposed to be trying to determine if Trump abused his power by allegedly pressuring Ukraine to investigate corruption allegations against Joe Biden and his son Hunter in exchange for aid during a July 25 call.

There’s absolutely no chance this will all backfire, right? The open-ended nature of this certainly won’t look like a formalized witch hunt, right? It won’t drive voters into Trump’s arms in battleground states, or at least cause them to refuse to vote Democrats, right?

A New York Times Upshot/Siena College Poll released on Wednesday shows residents of six battleground states oppose impeaching and removing President Trump from office by a 52 percent to 44 percent margin, but support the House impeachment inquiry by a 51 percent to 44 percent margin.

Broken down even further, the poll’s results show that 42 percent of respondents oppose both the House impeachment inquiry and impeaching and removing the president, while 41 percent support both the House impeachment inquiry and impeaching and removing the president. Eight percent of respondents support the House impeachment inquiry but oppose impeaching and removing the president, while nine percent were categorized having “other” views.

Registered voters in six key battleground states–Arizona, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin were surveyed in the poll.

Nope, no problems at all.

Pittsburgh Gun Grabbing Laws Struck Down

The gun grabbers gave it a shot after the Tree Of Life Synagogue shooting, the standard stuff which mostly just effects law abiding citizens, but, a judge was not having it

Pittsburgh Gun Laws Enacted After Synagogue Massacre Are Struck Down

A Pennsylvania judge on Tuesday struck down three gun control ordinances enacted by the City of Pittsburgh after the mass shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue last year, saying that state law prevented the city from regulating firearms.

The ordinances, announced in December, include an assault weapons ban, a ban on large-capacity magazines and a measure that empowered courts to stop people from possessing firearms if they posed an imminent threat to themselves or others.

But Judge Joseph M. James of Allegheny County said in his opinion in the Court of Common Pleas that state law “pre-empts any local regulation pertaining to the regulation of firearms,” despite the “large amount of energy” the city put into arguing that its ordinances were lawful.

The gun grabbers, primarily leftists, can’t argue that a city should be able to do what they want over state law, as they already made the bed about higher government having supremacy during the Arizona SB1070, ie “show me your papers” law, issue, where they argued that federal law had precedence over state, and state law couldn’t be tougher.

Joshua Prince, a lawyer for the gun rights groups and others who sued the city, said Judge James’s decision showed that Mayor Bill Peduto of Pittsburgh, who championed the measures, and the City Council are “neither above the law nor a special class of citizens that may violate the law with impunity.”

“The city’s gun control sought to eviscerate the inviolate right of the residents of the commonwealth to keep and bear arms and ensnare law-abiding citizens through a patchwork of laws,” he said in a statement Tuesday.

None of the laws passed would cause problems for criminals, just those who follow the law and aren’t wackjobs who want to violate other laws, like committing murder.

(Newsweek) Gun control laws passed in the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania after a mass shooting in October 2018 at the city’s Tree of Life Synagogue have been deemed “void and unenforceable” by an Allegheny County judge, according to KWWL. Pennsylvania state law does not allow municipalities to regulate guns.

In his ruling, Judge Joseph James cited the Uniform Firearms Act (UFA), saying “the UFA preempts any local regulation pertaining to the regulation of firearms.”

So, besides being against state law, they are unenforceable. The city plans to waste taxpayer money on an appeal. Not sure why, as there is this whole law thing.
