Bush Polls Higher Than Obama

You’ve probably heard this already, but, hey, what the hell

George W. Bush’s job approval rating as president has spiked to 47 percent, according to a Gallup poll released Monday.

That’s 1 point higher than President Barack Obama’s job approval rating in a poll taken the same week.

Do I personally rate him that high? No. Not as president. He seems a hell of a nice guy, he truly cares, he wears his heart on his sleeve, and he really was the perfect president to guide this country through the aftermath of 9/11. I think he did a decent job internationally. He did a pretty good job with the economy. I give him high marks for that. For the massive spending, the expansion of government? No. Still better than Obama. I’d rather have a squishy Republican than a died in the wool Progressive any day. Though, I will give Obama decent marks for deportations of illegals, going after companies that hire illegals, and a continued, though quiet, shooting war against Islamists.

Speaking of Obama, looks like he has pretty much caved on the extension of the tax cuts current tax rates for all, as well as offering up

Other details include a temporary two percent reduction in payroll taxes – reported by the Wall Street Journal to be one year – to replace Obama’s “Making Work Pay” tax credit from the 2009 stimulus bill, and a compromise on the estate tax, which will be set for two years at 35 percent, with a $5 million exemption amount.

The tax rate for capital gains and dividends will be maintained at 15 percent. The Daily Caller was the first to report these details. And ABC News’ Jake Tapper reported that businesses will be allowed to deduct 100 percent of certain investments for one year, an idea that Obama proposed in September.

In exchange, the GOP will vote in favor of extending unemployment out an additional 13 years, er, sorry, months. Dems will want years, soon. Obviously, if you check the links at Memeorandum (and here), you’ll see Liberals going bat shit crazy over this.

Ps: headline fixed. Don’t type while tired.
