Ted Kennedy’s Dog Splash Passes On….Wait, Splash?

Mary Jo Kopenchne is unavailable for comment

The late Sen. Edward Kennedy’s dog, Splash, who was the star of a children’s book about Capitol Hill, has died.

Kennedy’s widow, Vicki, announced his death in an e-mail Thursday. She calls the 13-year-old Portuguese water dog “a world-class fetcher of tennis balls and a meeter and greeter of presidents, senators, congressmen and even foreign dignitaries.”

Did you know his dog was named “Splash?” That was a new one on me. Just how insensitive does one have to be to do that? Of course, let’s face it, only in Liberal World is a man who walked away from a car accident to create an alibi, where the vehicle is in the water and sinking, with a young woman drowning slowly, is turned into an icon and model citizen, despite having no regrets or remorse

Teach many prefer to dwell on what they perceive as the good that he did. Others do not. Everyone can decide for themselves some people are consumed by hate, others are not.

  2. proof says:

“One of his favorite topics of humor was indeed, Chappaquiddick itself”

“He would ask people “Have you heard any new jokes about Chappaquiddick?”

The man would have been a modern Caligula, except that he had to maintain a little decorum. Emphasis on “little”…

Do I care that he saw two brothers assassinated forty-odd years ago? No. Shit happens.

Do I care that he displayed a yellow streak a mile wide while leaving a friend to drown? Not particularly. I expect politicians to be the scum of the earth.

So: do I care that there’s no Kennedy in the House or Senate? No. Do you care that there’s no Modelewski? Don’t be silly.
