Remember back to last Sunday, when Tom Freidman wrote

Times columnists are not allowed to endorse candidates, but there’s no rule against saying who will not get my vote: I will not vote for any candidate running on 9/11. We don’t need another president of 9/11. We need a president for 9/12. I will only vote for the 9/12 candidate.

We can’t afford to keep being this stupid! We have got to get our groove back. We need a president who will unite us around a common purpose, not a common enemy. Al Qaeda is about 9/11. We are about 9/12, we are about the Fourth of July — which is why I hope that anyone who runs on the 9/11 platform gets trounced.

Precocious, isn’t he? I guess Shillary will not be his candidate

Hillary Rodham Clinton unveiled a darkly emotional TV ad yesterday that uses tragic scenes of Ground Zero to subtly challenge Rudy Giuliani’s carefully cultivated image as the hero of 9/11.

Clinton is the first candidate in the 2008 contest to harness the intense power of 9/11 in her campaign advertisements – a controversial tactic that is already drawing strong reactions among 9/11 families.

She is also using the scenes to tell everyone how wonderful she is on health care-though I did miss the part where she submitted legislation for health care over the past 7 years of her Senate career. But using shots of her wandering around Ground Zero-apparently lost in though about what America did to those little darling Muslim terrorists to make them want to attack us-must certainly put her in either the "9/11" or "9/10" categories, by my reckoning.

So, will Tommy Freidman denounce her? He can say all he wants about "Times columnists not being allowed to endorse candidates," but, we all know that is BS, like any notion that the NY Times stock is actually going to increase in value. Come on, Tom, put your money where your mouth is: tell us you will not vote for her.
