Romney Makes Fun Of Obama’s Slogan

Of course, ABC reporter Emily Friedman can’t seem to get past the part about Romney speaking in front of those evil rich people

Mitt Romney Makes Fun of Obama Campaign Slogan During High-Dollar Fundraiser

That’s the headline

Mitt Romney this evening, speaking to a group of high-dollar donors at the Ritz-Carlton hotel, poked fun at President Obama’s newly unveiled campaign slogan, “Forward,” remarking, “Forward, what, over the cliff?”

At first, Romney seemed to muddle the president’s campaign slogan, according to an Associated Press report from the event.

“His new slogan is: Progress. No, forward. Forward! That’s it! Progress would be better. I might use that one myself, actually,” said Romney.

The fundraiser, where donors could pay anywhere from $2.500 to $10,000 depending on the access they wanted to the candidate…

It seems the point of Friedman’s article was not so much to highlight Romney making fun of Obama’s goofy (Nazi, Marxist, Communist, Socialist) slogan, but to point out Romney has fundraisers with rich people. Obama would never have a fundraiser with evil rich people, charging up to $25,000 per couple.

RNC Offers “Hype And Blame”

For only $10, you can get yours!

(The Hill) After a week where the one-year anniversary of the killing of Osama bin Laden effectively dominated the political news arena, Republicans are looking to shift the message back to a critical examination of President Obama’s economic record.

The Republican National Committee and Romney campaign are launching a new messaging effort centered around the theme of “hype and blame,” a play on the Obama campaign’s 2008 “hope and change” slogans.

Republicans will sell bumper stickers emblazoned with the faux slogan, and accompany that with a digital, radio, and television advertising push. The effort will focus on Virginia and Ohio, the two crucial swing states the president will hold campaign events in on Saturday.

Heh!

Children Won’t Know What Apples Taste Like

It’s so terrible!

(WRAL) Apple growers in western North Carolina say they may have left up to half of their crop because of cold weather last month.

Oh, wait, sorry, that’s weather, so, means nothing. Or, it was caused by global warming. Whichever.

Crazy Warmist Blames Lightning Strike On Globull Warming

Because lightning never happened when CO2 was below 350ppm. Oh, and the Warmist in question isn’t just any crazy lady: she’s a former Harvard Business School professor (via Tom Nelson)

(HuffPo Crazy) Hell is not a place; it’s a time. It starts with the experience of irreversible loss and ends as you learn to live with loss. My hell time began on a summer night in 2009 while wrapping brownies at the kitchen table in our Maine farmhouse.

Then her home was hit by lightning. I can sympathize: mine was hit once, too, blew out my A/C unit and expensive HDTV. Anyhow, here we go

I am not a climate change scientist, but I have come to understand that I am a climate change victim. Our daughter took the lead investigating destructive lightning in Maine. She found that the NASA Goddard Institute estimates a 5-6% change in global lightning frequencies for every 1 degree Celsius global warming. The Earth has already warmed .8 degrees Celsius since 1802 and is expected to warm another 1.1-6.4 degrees by the end of the century. Maine’s temperatures rose 1.9 degrees Celsius in the last century and another 2.24 degree rise is projected by 2104. I learned from our insurance company that while the typical thunderstorm produces around 100 lightning strikes, there were 217 strikes around our house that night. I was shocked to discover that when it comes to increased lightning frequency and destructiveness, a NASA study concluded that eastern areas of North America like Maine are especially vulnerable. Scientists confirm a 10% increase in the incidence of extreme weather events in our region since 1949.

.8C, huh? Wow, that’s ……. well, miniscule, and still less than occurred during the multiple warm periods that occurred over the last 7,000 years. Remember when we were told that “weather is not climate”?

Was the lightning bolt in our kitchen caused by global warming? The facts are too compelling to ignore. It seems that global warming turned my family into refugees in our own lives, stripped of everything that once carried our memories and meaning. Since then I’ve learned some lessons that may help others reckon with the realities of climate change and the terrifying prospect that our future will be different from our past.

I don’t want to make light of her tragedy, yet, she herself decided to take a random act of nature and use it for political gain. And blaming CO2 for this random act of nature is about as stupid as it gets. I will give her points for installing solar panels and a windmill, but living in a big old house is bad for globull warming.

Oh, I almost forget: via Steven Goddard, here’s Maine’s massive warming trend (saved me from having to look it up myself)

Liberals Target Fox’s Broadcast Licenses

On one hand, liberals think burning the American flag and pooping on police cars is “free speech”. On the other, if someone broadcasts things they don’t like, shut them down. They’d make Hugo Chavez, Stalin, Mao, and Hitler very proud

(Guardian) A Washington-based ethics watchdog is calling on federal regulators to revoke News Corporation’s 27 Fox broadcast licences in the wake of the highly critical report on phone hacking from the UK parliament.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (Crew) has written to the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, Julius Genachowski, calling on the regulator to pull the plug on Rupert Murdoch’s lucrative television licences on grounds of character.

The letter argues that the final report of the UK Commons culture, media and sport committee, which concluded that Murdoch was not fit to run a major international company, had implications for the US regulators that they had now to act upon.

As Newsbusters points out, CREW is yet another George Soros funded extreme left organization. And they aren’t just going after Fox News, their unhinged derangement looks to do away with all Fox’s broadcast licenses, so, no more Family Guy or The Simpsons. No more American Idol. Who’ll carry NFC football? And what of all the local TV stations affiliated with Fox Broadcasting? What would happen to them? That’s a lot of people out of work. But, the Left doesn’t care, because someone had the audacity to broadcast something other than liberal propaganda.

From CREW’s press release

Today, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) sent a letter to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Julius Genachowski asking the FCC to revoke the 27 Fox broadcast licenses News Corp. holds in the United States. Under U.S. law, broadcast frequencies may be used only by people of good “character,” who will serve “the public interest,” and speak with “candor.”  Significant character deficiencies may warrant disqualification from holding a license.

CBS should have their license pulled for their fake Dan Rather report on George Bush. MSNBC should have their license pulled for putting Al Sharpton, a man who pushed a fake racism story and incited violence against Jews, on television. CNN should have their license pulled for failing to broadcast what was going on in Iraq under Saddam Hussein in order to keep their access. See how easy censorship is, Leftists?

Democrat Senators are complying, as several are asking the UK for evidence.

Say, About All Those Death Threats Against Aussie Climate Scientists…

Yeah, not so much, via Australian Climate Madness through Anthony Watts

(The Australian) CLAIMS that some of Australia’s leading climate change scientists were subjected to death threats as part of a vicious and unrelenting email campaign have been debunked by the Privacy Commissioner.

Timothy Pilgrim was called in to adjudicate on a Freedom of Information application in relation to Fairfax and ABC reports last June alleging that Australian National University climate change researchers were facing the ongoing campaign and had been moved to “more secure buildings” following explicit threats.

In a six-page ruling made last week, Mr Pilgrim found that 10 of 11 documents, all emails, “do not contain threats to kill” and the other “could be regarded as intimidating and at its highest perhaps alluding to a threat”.

Both Watts and ACM highlight all the ‘breathless” reporting of the original story claiming the death threats. Think the reality will hit the BBC, Nature, ABC (Aussie version), and the Guardian, among others, with them publishing this info?

Mostly Peaceful Occupiers Throw Bricks And Pipes From SF Rooftop

Funny how this seems to only be getting airplay in the San Fran area

Hundreds of protesters took over a vacant building on Turk Street owned by the Archdiocese of San Francisco on Tuesday. One climbed to the roof, threw a brick that struck a man with a video camera standing in the swarm of police and demonstrators below.

Police arrested Jesse Nesbitt, 34, of San Francisco on suspicion of felony aggravated assault after he ran out the back of the two-story building at 888 Turk St. But they didn’t find another man who hurled metal pipes into from an adjacent rooftop.

There’s already been $25,000 in damage to the church.

“We are not the 1 percent. I don’t get it,” said George Wesolek, spokesman for the archdiocese. “I think it’s an indication of how confused the Occupy movement has become in terms of its goals and its focus.”

They don’t care. And as long as the “99%” put up with these hooligans, this is what will happen. 24 Occutards were arrested at the church. There were 23 arrests in Oakland. Business owners in the “trashed Mission district” want answers. The Occupiers and left side apologists simply blame this on “anarchists”, but, who do they think is attracted to the Occupy movement?

Over at the Jawa Report, we find “Funny, I’ve been to several Tea Party protests but never felt the need to bring weapons, bombs, or bags of shit. Maybe it’s just me…”

Newsbusters highlights the number of MSM outlets not mentioning the Occupy links for the 5 Occupiers arrested by the FBI who wanted to blow up a bridge.

Globull Warming Policies Are Bad For Your Health

The thing about globull warming policies is that they aren’t really designed to do anything other than redistribute money from the private sector to the public sector, as well as restricting freedom in the private sector. They won’t limit or reduce warming, as proponents say they will. Now, a new report highlights just how bad the policies are (via Junk Science)

(GWPF) Policies to reduce global warming may be doing more harm than good to public health in both developing and industrialised countries. This is the conclusion of a new report published today by the Global Warming Policy Foundation.

In his report, Dr Indur Goklany, a leading expert on human health and climate change, shows that

• Global warming does not currently rank among the top public health threats
• The contribution of much-publicized ‘Extreme Weather Events’ to global mortality is negligible and declining.
• Poverty is a much larger public health threat than global warming
• Present climate policies are already adding to death and disease
• Focused adaptation to climate change and/or economic development would provide greater health benefits at lower costs than climate mitigation policies.

The report warns that exaggerating the impact of global warming on human health seriously risks misdirecting the world’s priorities and resources in combating poverty and improving public health.

“Climate policies that hinder or slow down economic development or increase the price of energy and food threaten to augment poverty and, as a result, increase net death and disease,” Dr Goklany said.

The increase in biofuel production between 2004 and 2010, for example, is estimated to have increased the population in absolute poverty in the developing world by over 35 million, leading to about 200,000 additional deaths in 2010 alone.

You can read the whole report here.
