Witches Plan Ceremony To Put The Whammy On Trump

On the bright side, it will probably be more peaceful than the usual leftist protest

(AOL) Get your covens ready.

Protest may be the new brunch, but witches are joining together worldwide in a more magical form of resistance to cast a spell on President Donald Trump, reports say.

A document circling the internet in both private and public witchcraft groups contains a spell to bind Trump to all who abet him, and even muggles (non-magic folks for those unfamiliar with Harry Potter) are encouraged to participate.

The binding ritual is to be performed monthly by those who practice the craft until Trump is removed from office.

So, basically everyone, because magic isn’t real. Unless one takes lots of drugs. They plan on doing this Friday night, and every night there is a crescent moon. Until Trump is out of office.

They need candles, and Tarot cards, and all sorts of things, in order to chant this

“Hear me, oh spirits
Of Water, Earth, Fire, and Air
Heavenly hosts
Demons of the infernal realms
And spirits of the ancestors
(Light inscribed orange candle stub)
I call upon you
To bind
Donald J. Trump
So that he may fail utterly
That he may do no harm
To any human soul
Nor any tree
Animal
Rock
Stream

Bind him so that he shall not break our polity
Usurp our liberty
Or fill our minds with hate, confusion, fear, or despair
And bind, too,
All those who enable his wickedness
And those whose mouths speak his poisonous lies

I beseech thee, spirits, bind all of them
As with chains of iron
Bind their malicious tongues
Strike down their towers of vanity

It gets even wackier after that, as you can read at the HuffPost.

Climate Models Predict Crossing Doomy Thresholds Or Something

Again and again and again, the models that the Cult of Climastrology uses have been shown to, at a minimum, perform poorly. Yet, they still trot them out as proof of future doom. Why? Because the friendly media is willing to publish these prognostications of doom without any hint of question

Computer model predicts the likelihood of crossing several dangerous climate change thresholds

A new computer model of accumulated carbon emissions predicts the likelihood of crossing several dangerous climate change thresholds. These include global temperature rise sufficient to lose the Greenland Ice Sheet and generate seven meters of long-term sea level rise, or tropical region warming to a level that is deadly to humans and other mammals.

“The model is based on idealized representations of societal, technological and policy factors,” said lead researcher Jeremy Fyke, of the Los Alamos National Laboratory Theoretical Division, Fluid Dynamics and Solid Mechanics group. “It’s focused on climate-carbon sensitivities and is designed to reproduce both recent carbon emission trends and long-term future carbon emission projections.”

The research was published today in the Institute of Physics’ Environmental Research Letters.

Seven meters is a shade over 22 feet. When will this happen?

A unique part of the study is that it’s timing-agnostic. “Basically, think of the climate system as a ‘carbon bathtub,'” said Fyke. “What this study mainly does is assess how full the bathtub might get. It could get to the same level at different times. For example, the tap could go full-out for 20 years, or a drip for 100 years, but the end result—net warming—is essentially the same, and only depends on the level the ‘carbon bathtub’ gets to, before we turn off the tap completely.”

This is just fear mongering for the sake of fear mongering. And more government funding. Think I’m wrong? Notice that I put “published today” in bold above. Compare the article cited, with a date of February 22, 2017, with another one, published November 17, 2015

That’s right, they completely recycled the same article over two years later, which is on their front page (at this time). But, hey, this is science, not scaremongering, and there’s no agenda, right? Right?

California Companies Are Fearful Of Trump Deportation Orders Or Something

The media is slowly turning from Outrage over Trump’s illegal aliens plans to Outrage over the federal government not forcing little girls to accept penis in their bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers in schools of all levels, but, there are still a few holdouts, such as the LA Times

Trump’s promise to ramp up deportations spreads fear — among California businesses

The news that President Trump ordered an aggressive crackdown on 11 million undocumented people sent a chill through immigrant communities. California businesses that employ lots of immigrants are shivering too.

If they employ lawfully present workers, what’s the problem? If they’re employing illegal aliens, then they are in violation of criminal code.

Two memos released by Homeland Security Secretary John F. Kelly on Tuesday directed immigration officers to broaden the scope of their enforcement, conduct more raids of immigrant communities, and detain people living here illegally regardless of whether they had a criminal record.

Those marching orders could hit the California economy particularly hard. Many of the industries that depend heavily on immigrants already were experiencing a labor shortage.

Undocumented workers make up 10% of the labor force in California, USC researchers have estimated, and form a large chunk of the employment that drives massive industries such as agriculture and construction.

So, we’re worried about some California companies who are in violation of 8 US Code 1324a, especially if they are not doing due diligence to make sure the person is lawfully present? Let them face the fines and potential jail time for blowing off the law.

“In the urban, rich economies of California, the high-end jobs are for U.S. born [workers] and the service, low-end jobs are for immigrants. Immigrants have adjusted to the high-cost environment, and that’s a way for them to absorb this cost,” said Giovanni Peri, an economist at UC Irvine.

Immigrants tend to live in tight quarters and move around a lot in order to cushion the blow of expensive real estate in California’s biggest cities, something that native-born Americans may be less willing to do, Peri said.

Now, that’s an interesting notion: California has made things so expensive that only legal migrant workers and illegal aliens will do certain jobs. This is how Progressivism works in reality. What happens when they raise the minimum wage to $15, and things implode further? Anyhow, super lower class loving Progressive Californian’s apparently like the idea of a permanent underclass to serve them in the fields and places like supermarkets and restaurants.

Madelyn Alfano, president of Maria’s Italian Kitchen, which operates nine restaurants and employs 400 workers, said anxiety about deportation had spread throughout her workforce.

Alfano, who emphasized that she hired documented workers, said her employees still worry about family members who are in the country illegally.

People wonder “‘what’s going to happen if my wife or my child or someone else in my family is taken away?’” Alfano said.

There several sob stories like this in the article, where they all stress they only hire legals. If they’re legal, why the concern? Might be a case of protesting too much.

This Is Fascism? Bannon Vows Trump Will “Deconstruct The Administrative State”

Even before Donald Trump was elected, people were referring to him as a fascist, an authoritarian, a dictator in waiting. Mind you, this wasn’t just coming from liberals and the liberal media: it also emanated from some right leaning folks, such as Glenn Beck. Since Trump was elected, the screeching has become stronger from the left about the utter doom of a coming Nazi nation. So, how does that square with this?

Bannon vows a daily battle for the ‘deconstruction of the administrative state’

The reclusive mastermind behind President Trump’s nationalist ideology and combative tactics made his public debut Thursday, delivering a fiery rebuke of the media and declaring that the new administration is in an unending battle for “deconstruction of the administrative state.”

Stephen K. Bannon, the White House chief strategist and intellectual force behind Trump’s agenda, used his first speaking appearance since Trump took office to vow that the president would honor all of the hard-line pledges of his campaign. (snip)

“If you think they’re going to give you your country back without a fight, you are sadly mistaken,” Bannon said in reference to the media and opposition forces. “Every day, it is going to be a fight.”

He continued, “And that is what I’m proudest about Donald Trump. All the opportunities he had to waver off this, all the people who have come to him and said, ‘Oh, you’ve got to moderate’ — every day in the Oval Office, he tells Reince and I, ‘I committed this to the American people, I promised this when I ran, and I’m going to deliver on this.’ ”

One thing you can’t say about Trump is that he won’t bother attempting to keep his campaign promises. He may not succeed on some issues, but he will try. For many of us Trump fence sitters during the campaign, it was a concern that Trump was making campaign promises that he would abandon and do the opposite, based on him being a long term NYC liberal. So far, he’s been trying to do what he promised.

Bannon framed much of Trump’s agenda with the phrase, “deconstruction of the administrative state,” meaning the system of taxes, regulations and trade pacts that the president says have stymied economic growth and infringed upon U.S. sovereignty. Bannon says that the post-World War II political and economic consensus is failing and should be replaced with a system that empowers ordinary people over coastal elites and international institutions.

If memory serves, people with an authoritarian bend would be looking to increase the power of the central government, would they not? When Bannon and Trump talk about nationalism, they aren’t thinking about the old version, but a new one, where America and Americans come first. It’s not about isolationism, fascism, or anything along the lines of Big Government. It’s about reducing the stranglehold the federal government has over citizens as much as possible.

Now, though, to make it happen.

Surprise: Philly Soda Tax Causes Loss Of Sales, People To Be Laid Off

Remember when the city of Philadelphia, home to the odious Eagles and Flyers, enacted a tax on “sugary” drinks? How’s that working out? About as well as carbon taxes

Soda companies, supermarkets report 30-50 pct. sales drop from soda tax

The hell you say!

Two months into the city’s sweetened-beverage tax, supermarkets and distributors are reporting a 30 percent to 50 percent drop in beverage sales and are planning for layoffs.

One of the city’s largest distributors says it will cut 20 percent of its workforce in March, and an owner of six ShopRite stores in Philadelphia says he expects to shed 300 workers this spring. (snip)

Bob Brockway, chief operating officer of Canada Dry Delaware Valley, which distributes about 20 percent of the city’s soft drinks, said sales were down 45 percent in Philadelphia. The company will lay off 20 percent of its workforce the first week in March.

Social Justice Warrior induced unemployment

In response, the city questioned the legitimacy of the early figures and predicted that customers responding to the initial sticker shock by shopping outside the city would return.

Of course, the stores will already have reduced their workforce. How much is going outside of the city? Some reports show a 20% spike. Companies in the city are going outside of the city to make their purchases, just like citizens, in order to lower costs. And, as long as the tax remains in place, they will continue to go outside the city.

Mayor Kenney harshly rebuked reports of coming layoffs late Tuesday night.

“I didn’t think it was possible for the soda industry to be any greedier,” Kenney said in an emailed statement. “ … They are so committed to stopping this tax from spreading to other cities, that they are not only passing the tax they should be paying onto their customer, they are actually willing to threaten working men and women’s jobs rather than marginally reduce their seven figure bonuses.”

Got that? The city enacted a tax, pretty much over the objections of the citizens and those in business, who predicted exactly what would happen. But, hey, let’s blame the companies, which always pass on increased costs of doing business.

Trump Rolls Back Federal Legal Protection For Gender Confused To Violate Privacy Of Little Girls

There had been rumblings that this was going to occur, and it has sent many in the media into a higher level of apoplexy

Trump administration rolls back protections for transgender students

The Trump administration on Wednesday revoked federal guidelines specifying that transgender students have the right to use public school restrooms that match their gender identity, taking a stand on a contentious issue that has become the central battle over LGBT rights.

Officials with the federal Education and Justice departments notified the U.S. Supreme Court late Wednesday that the administration is ordering the nation’s schools to disregard memos the Obama administration issued during the past two years regarding transgender student rights. Those memos said that prohibiting transgender students from using facilities that align with their gender identity violates federal anti-discrimination laws.

The two-page “Dear colleague” letter from the Trump administration, which is set to go to the nation’s public schools, does not offer any new guidance, instead saying that the earlier directive needed to be withdrawn because it lacked extensive legal analysis, did not go through a public vetting process, sowed confusion and drew legal challenges.

The departments wrote that the Trump administration wants to “further and more completely consider the legal issues involved,” and said that there must be “due regard for the primary role of the States and local school districts in establishing educational policy.” Although it offered no clarity or direction to schools that have transgender students, the letter added that “schools must ensure that all students, including LGBT students, are able to learn and thrive in a safe environment.”

In other words, the issue has been returned to the states and cities, which can determine how they themselves will consider the idea of allowing biological males who are confused about their actual sex into bathrooms, showers, and locker rooms with biological girls, violating the latter’s privacy, at the least. It will be up to the states and municipalities as to whether they will let the gender confused, many of whom are gender confused because their parents are wackos and should have gotten visits from Child Protection Services, compete in sports and other areas that were for the opposite biological sex.

Of course, Liberals are having conniption fits. But, wait, I thought they were super enthused by the notion of states’ rights in the Era Of Trump? No?

The federal government has no place in forcing people to accept the opposite biological sex in their bathrooms, showers, and locker rooms, especially at schools full of underage kids.

That said, the order does not change one thing

Anti-bullying safeguards would not be affected by the change, according to the letter. “All schools must ensure that all students, including LGBT students, are able to learn and thrive in a safe environment,” it said.

The Obama era guidance was already blocked, at least for the time being, as 13 states sued Obama and a judge slapped a hold on the order.

As John Hinderaker writes

There was a time, many years ago, when I would have thought that the government not just permitting co-ed showers, but requiring them, was a brilliant idea. Then I turned 17. The Obama administration never grew up, apparently, but adults are now re-asserting control,

Of course, that’s a male perspective, one which most of us would have shared when we were in school. And, from most examples, and lawsuits, women girls in school are not particularly please with having to share their real safe spaces with biological males.

Illegal Aliens Are Hiding In Fear Due To Team Trump Immigration Rules

They’re hiding so much that the NY Times knows who they are

Immigrants Hide, Fearing Capture on ‘Any Corner’

No going to church, no going to the store. No doctor’s appointments for some, no school for others. No driving, period — not when a broken taillight could deliver the driver to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

It is happening in the Central Valley of California, where undocumented immigrants pick the fields for survival wages but are keeping their children home from school; on Staten Island, where fewer day laborers haunt street corners in search of work; in West Phoenix’s Isaac School District, where 13 Latino students have dropped out in the past two weeks; and in the horse country of northern New Jersey, where one of the many undocumented grooms who muck out the stables is thinking of moving back to Honduras.

If deportation has always been a threat on paper for the 11 million people living in the country illegally, it rarely imperiled those who did not commit serious crimes. But with the Trump administration intent on curbing illegal immigration — two memos outlining the federal government’s plans to accelerate deportations were released Tuesday, another step toward making good on one of President Trump’s signature campaign pledges — that threat, for many people, has now begun to distort every movement.

It has driven one family from the local park where they used to play baseball in the evenings, and young men from a soccer field in Brooklyn where pickup games were once common.

Well, they should be fearful that they could be picked up and deported. They are unlawfully present in the United States. It’s an easy concept to understand, no explanation necessary. For the most part, though, most have nothing to fear if they do not violate other laws, bringing themselves to the attention of law enforcement. For those who have violated other laws….and don’t forget, the majority who have been swept up recently were those with serious criminal violations, such as sexual assault on minors….expect to be caught and deported.

It has kept Meli, 37, who arrived in Los Angeles from El Salvador more than 12 years ago, in a state of self-imposed house arrest, refusing to drive, fearing to leave her home, wondering how she will take her younger son, who is autistic, to doctor’s appointments.

Heck of a job hiding. Unless the NY Times is simply making this up.

The Times is also Very Concerned that this may handcuff police in fighting gangs

After five teenagers were found dead in this Long Island town last year, murdered by the members of a transnational gang with ties to El Salvador, a local problem turned into a national flash point, a referendum on illegal immigration.

Now, in the wake of President Trump’s broad executive orders on deporting undocumented immigrants, Suffolk County police officials are wrestling with a conundrum facing police departments across the country: how to shut down a violent gang when the immigrants they will need as witnesses and tipsters may be afraid to come forward.

The article finally gets around to noting that the gang in question is MS-13, considered to be the worst of the worst, and that the members tend to be, you got it, illegal aliens themselves. So, though, are on legal visas. There’s an obvious answer missing from the apoplectic Times: catch them, deport them, and then you do not have to worry about other illegal aliens coming forth. Control the borders so they cannot enter the nation, then travel thousands of miles to Long Island.

Interestingly, the article includes several pro-“deport the hell out them” comments, deep within, from legal immigrants. This would, again, remove the need for the cops to have issues with illegal gangs.

Then you have this from the Washington Post

As desperate asylum seekers continue to flee the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown by crossing into Canada, concern is growing here over whether the country will be able to cope if the number of migrants keeps growing.

Stories of migrants hauling children and suitcases across frozen fields and snow-covered ditches into Canada have become headline news. The asylum seekers, who are fleeing President Trump’s travel and refugee bans as well as stepped-up arrests of undocumented immigrants, have received warm welcomes. But opposition politicians are criticizing the government of Justin Trudeau for being too harsh or too lax in its approach.

Let them go. If Canada is willing to accept more and more illegals, that’s their problem. And it shows that Team Trump’s immigration rules are working. You make them fearful to be here, and fearful to come. If you want to come to the United States in a lawful manner, great! If you want to violate our borders or overstay your visa? Leave. Or just don’t come. Any fear these people feel is on their own heads. We do not get our collective national skivvies in a twist over worry that other criminals are living in fear. Nor should we over those unlawfully present.

Dakota Access Protest: Nothing Says “We Love The Environment” Like Burning Things And Leaving Garbage

Then there’s the whole “protest peaceably” thing (via John Sexton)

(AP) The last people remaining at a Dakota Access pipeline protest camp prayed and set fire to a handful of wooden structures on Wednesday, hours ahead of a deadline set by the Army Corps of Engineers to close the camp.

Some of the praying protesters said burning the structures — which appeared to include a yurt and a teepee — was part of the ceremony of leaving. As heavy rain turned to snow, some said they expected no trouble during the eviction, despite a heavy law enforcement presence.

“People are being very mindful, trying very hard to stay in prayer, to stay positive,” said Nestor Silva, 37, of California. “I am not aware of any plans for belligerence.”

Don’t forget, many leftist places, especially in California, have tried to ban bonfires because they are bad for ‘climate change.’

Once the main camp is cleared of people, the cleanup of trash and debris that’s being coordinated by the tribal, state and federal governments will continue. More than 1,000 tons of waste had been removed by contractors as of early Tuesday, though dozens of semi-permanent structures remained, according to Herr. Dozens of abandoned vehicles also remained, according to George Kuntz, vice president of the North Dakota Towing Association.

Sounds just like every Leftist protest. Tons of garbage, and, hey, look, fossil fueled vehicles. But, hey, it’s OK, because they’re spreading awareness.

And a wonderful photo from NPR
