The Numbers Show Just How Strong Trump Has Been On Illegal Aliens

Say what you will about some of Trump’s missteps, the illegal alien policies of his administration have been excellent, leading to this freakout from Mother Jones’ Kanyakrit Vongkiatkajorn

These Numbers Show Just How Bad Trump Has Been for Immigrants
Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrests of undocumented immigrants with no criminal history skyrocketed by more than 200 percent.

Between January and July of this year, Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrests of undocumented immigrants with no criminal history skyrocketed by more than 200 percent, according to a Reuters analysis—jumping from 1,411 arrests in January to a whopping 4,399 in July. Arrests of immigrants with criminal records have also increased but by a much smaller margin of 17 percent.

Reuters’ findings demonstrate the chilling effects of President Trump’s crackdown—and that his policies have led to repercussions across the justice system and multiple borders.

While Reuters only looks at data through July, the Washington Post reports the trend is ongoing; immigrants without criminal records have become the fastest-growing category of ICE arrests this year.

No record but being in the U.S. unlawfully. And you know what all these arrests have led to?

Despite the uptick in arrests, the number of removals has actually slowed. Immigration experts, though, say that’s not due to a lack of effort by the Trump administration—rather there’s a backlog in the immigration court system and significantly fewer people are attempting to cross the US-Mexico border since Trump took office. In August, arrests at the border dropped by more than 40 percentcompared to the same time last year, according to US Customs and Border Protection.

Mother Jones doesn’t seem to understand that all these publicized (and politicized by illegal alien supporters) arrests have had the effect of reducing the number of people who come across the border. We also lean that the Trump admin are opening deportation cases at a rate against those who were previously spared around three times that of Team Obama. So, this is all

along with

(NBC News) A federal operation to arrest undocumented immigrants this week netted nearly 500 people in cities and states that have openly opposed the Trump administration’s deportation initiatives.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said Thursday that its four-day “Operation Safe City” targeted people in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Denver, Washington and Baltimore as well as Cook County, Illinois; Santa Clara County in California’s Bay Area; Portland, Oregon; and Massachusetts.

Where better to arrest illegal aliens then the places that shelter them? And guess who they were?

According to ICE, of the 498 people arrested this week, 317 had criminal convictions. Some were also categorized as “immigration fugitives,” “previously deported criminal aliens,” and/or associated with a gang.

Most of the criminal convictions were for driving under the influence as well as assault- and drug-related offenses, ICE said. Others were arrested for marijuana possession, traffic offenses and even charges of being a “peeping tom.”

So, criminals. Interestingly, illegal alien supporters always tell us they only want the “good ones”, yet, shelter the criminals.

It Gets Dumber: Youth Football League Won’t Play National Anthem To Avoid Controversy

On one hand, you can see where they’re coming from

https://twitter.com/PoliticalShort/status/913723930040340480

As Nurse Patriot notes “The fans will start singing it. You watch”

Controversy over the NFL national anthem protests may seem far separated from children’s sports in the Houston area, but one youth league is putting a stop to any potential issues by canceling the anthem before their games.

Starting Saturday, the national anthem won’t be allowed at youth games, according to leaders with the Cy-Fair Youth Sports Association. The change is an effort to prevent controversy in case people choose to use the anthem for political displays, they said.

Obviously, the point here is to keep the wacko America, cop, flag, military hating people who also love Che, Mao, and Castro from creating problems, especially in America, cop, flag, military loving Texas. On the other hand, they’re taking the celebration of Freedom away from the majority. I wonder if someone will bring their boom box and jam it out?

Interestingly

Gray’s Creek High School’s principal Lisa Stewart sent a recorded message to parents Thursday night to “address concerns regarding a potential disruption to our learning environment.”

“We have been made aware of social media posts making reference to students forming a protest tomorrow at school,” the message said in part. “As you know, protests are welcome in our society, but are not welcome on public school grounds. Students will not be allowed to protest in any capacity tomorrow.”

So, let’s see: private organizations are not allowed to stop protests, per America cop flag military hating Leftists, but, Government is allowed to shut down protests on government property.

Torrential Rains From Recent Hurricanes Is A Strong ‘Climate Change’ Signal Or Something

Hurricanes happen. They always have. Harvey was made much worse due to the interaction of multiple fronts which hemmed it in, instead of allowing it to move quickly like hurricanes usually do. It’s called “weather”. But, not in the Warmist World of Vox

The torrential rain from Hurricanes Maria, Irma, and Harvey is a strong signal of climate change

As Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria plowed through unusually warm oceans this summer, each one broke records, startling even the scientists who study extreme weather.

“All of these storms went through a period where they gained strength quickly,” said James Kossin, an atmospheric scientist at the NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction. “That was alarming.”

The intensity of Hurricane Maria, which made landfall on Puerto Rico as a Category 4 storm on September 20, was part of why it was so devastating to the island and its weak infrastructure, leaving Puerto Ricans in a humanitarian crisis.

But this year’s intense Atlantic storm season had another element tying its biggest events together: a monstrous, and sometimes deadly, amount of rain.

OK, you get where Excitable Umair Irfan is going, and, of course, Umair throws in the standard line

No single weather event — even an extreme one — can be “caused” by climate change, as Vox’s David Roberts has explained in detail. And when talking about hurricanes, researchers are quite hesitant to even estimate how much climate change is to blame. Huffman said he’s not yet sure if this storm season is “unprecedented” in its ferocity.

Of course, Umair goes on to attempt to Blame these storms on a changing climate, with the unspoken assertion that this is all caused by Mankind. One has to wonder why the previous almost 12 years of minimal landfalling major hurricanes isn’t included? Seriously, if all this talk of warmer temperatures, expanding and rising seas, more water in the atmosphere, etc, are such strong signals, then what to make of the previous 12 seasons?

Green Bay Packers’ Fans Let The Team Know What They Thought Of The Protest

The Green Bay Packers had a little plan to get all the fans to link arms during the national anthem, in an attempt to push social justice warrioring. And it was about SJW stuff

The Green Bay Packers players are asking fans tonight to join them in a “display of unity” by linking arms during the national anthem before their game with the Chicago Bears.

“It will represent a coming together of players who want the same things all of us do – freedom, equality, tolerance, understanding and justice for those who have been unjustly treated, discriminated against or otherwise treated unfairly,” the players’ statement read.

As I’ve commented and tweeted time and time again, just like many others, the linking arms thing is just as much a SJW protest as kneeling. And the GB fans were having none of it. They just want to see some football

They were blasting the team before the game, and let the team have a little bit of the old what for during the anthem

(Green Bay Press Gazette) Chants of “U-S-A! U-S-A!” reverberated around Lambeau Field on Thursday as the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears stood to observe the national anthem. Players and coaches from both teams locked arms on their respective sidelines. No one sat and no one kneeled.

Remember, in Green Bay the fans are the owners/shareholders. And they did not, for the most part, approve of this protest. You see them holding American Flags, saluting, and putting their hand over their heart in video. Though many of them look monumentally pissed off at the protest from the players.

The decision by the Packers to lock arms was meant as a display of unity, a message made public through a statement crafted by the players earlier this week. They encouraged fans to do the same, and while the anthem proved to be uneventful, the majority of spectators did not link arms with their neighbors.

“Well, it was an invitation to join us,” Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said. “The beauty is, it’s a free country so they can choose to do it or not.

“The messaging of this, unfortunately, continues to need to be redirected. It’s never been about the national anthem, it’s never been about the military. We’re all patriotic in the locker room. We love our troops. This is about something bigger than that: an invitation to show unity in the face of some divisiveness from the top in this country, and I’m proud of our guys. This has been a galvanizing situation for us.”

Question for Rodgers: beyond linking arms, what has this galvanized you to do personally? Are you actually putting your money and time where your mouth is? Getting into the Black communities and helping them out? Well, we know one thing: he’s being a smartass

Nice job pissing off the people who make it so you have a job.

Moonbattery: Library Considers Dr. Seuss To Be “Racist Propaganda” ‘Cause Trump

A library in Massachusetts had a moonbat meltdown over the gift over some Dr. Seuss books. Why? Because they were given by Melania Trump

‘Racist propaganda’: Library rejects Melania Trump’s gift of Dr. Seuss books

One of Melania Trump‘s favorite books is Dr. Seuss’s “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!,” which she read with her son, Barron, “over and over” when he was younger.

The first lady, who is increasingly carving out a public profile for herself, chose the classic children’s book and nine other Dr. Seuss titles to send to an elementary school in Cambridge, Mass., in celebration of “National Read a Book Day.”

But a librarian at Cambridgeport School refused to accept the gift, criticizing Trump administration education policies and images in the books.

Seuss’s illustration are “steeped in racist propaganda, caricatures, and harmful stereotypes,” librarian Liz Phipps Soeiro wrote in a letter to Trump on Tuesday.

Raise your hand if you agree that this same librarian would have sqee’d had the books been sent by Michelle Obama.

The librarian wrote that rather than sending books to a well-funded elementary school in Cambridge, Trump should instead be devoting resources to schools in “underfunded and underprivileged communities” that are “marginalized and maligned by policies put in place by Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos.” Critics view DeVos, a billionaire who has worked for decades to promote school choice, or alternatives to traditional public schools, as one of the most anti-public-education secretaries in the department’s history.

In Moonbat World, a simple gift can’t be accepted without a Social Justice freakout. Hey, perhaps the librarian can give up her cushy job and go work in one in an “underfunded and underprivileged community”? Of course, the budgets for school libraries are set at the state and local level, so, perhaps she should complain to those, but, then she would have to complain to Democrats, who mostly control the schools in the underfunded and underprivileged communities.

The school itself stated that the librarian wasn’t authorized to speak for the school, nor accept or reject the books on her own say so. And they seemed pretty ticked off that she did this, as we read down in the story.

Anyhow, you know who else is a fan of Dr. Seuss?

But the author still has many admirers, including President Obama, who said he is “still a big Dr. Seuss fan” when he visited a library in Southeast Washington in 2015.

He hailed Seuss as “one of America’s revered wordsmiths” in a presidential proclamation on 2016’s Read Across America Day.

Huh.

“Study”: Global Warming Is Real And The Oceans Are Eating It Or Something

Another recitation of Cult of Climastrology talking points

Yet another study concludes that global warming is real

A new look at historical ocean temperatures confirms what climate models have already said: The ocean – and therefore the world – is heating up.

Abraham: “Turns out 93 percent of the global warming heat goes into the ocean. So if you really want to know global warming, you’ve really got to measure ocean warming.”

A couple points on this “study”

  • There is no link to the study included in the piece, which is from Yale Climate Connections
  • This is not proof of anthropogenic causation. Just warming. Which happens in periods throughout the Holocene (and sure other periods)
  • YCC is very much a Cult of Climastrology propaganda outlet, so we can infer that they mean man-caused climate change is causing the warming which is being eaten by the oceans.
  • There’s no explanation as to why this suddenly seemed to happen recently, but not necessarily in the past.

But, then, this isn’t about science.

Democrats Say Immigration Could Hurt Republicans In 2018 Or Something

If Donald Trump and the GOP do not defend people who are unlawfully present in the United States, it could mean doom, because people who tend to not vote GOP will not vote GOP again

Immigration controversy could hurt GOP, Democratic poll finds

President Donald Trump’s immigration policies could take Texas and other states with big Latino populations down the same path as reliably Democratic California – if Republicans in Congress don’t support the Dream Act, a new Democratic poll suggests.

Leaders of the Latino Victory Project, which paid for the nationwide poll, found Hispanic voters overwhelmingly disapprove of Trump after his first eight months in office. Trump won 28 percent of the Latino vote in the 2016 election, according to exit polls. The new survey, conducted earlier this month, showed 24 percent approve of the job he’s doing now.

And unlike polling conducted before the 2016 presidential election, Latino voters in this survey ranked immigration issues as their top priority for Congress and the White House to address – overtaking jobs and the economy, which led Hispanic voters’ concerns last year.

Republicans countered Wednesday that Democrats won’t be able flip red states on immigration issues alone. They cited disorganized Democratic state parties and past Republican success with Hispanic voters among their reasons.

If anyone can actually find the poll, let me know. It’s not linked at any article I’ve seen. It’s not available at the Latino Victory Project (which was launched be Eva Longoria, who is a massive supporter of illegal immigration and open borders).

Regardless, if Latinos are more concerned with protecting people who’ve broken the law, that’s on them, and will not effectively change the outcomes of elections, particularly when opponents of illegal immigration will get up and vote when they see supporters of illegal immigration demanding amnesty.

What this is really all about is attempting to sway elected officials (primarily Republicans), who depend on people voting for them, to get scared over the prospect of losing votes (from people that won’t vote for them anyhow) and get on the pro-amnesty bandwagon. Sadly, many Republicans will buy into this, as they have before.

Trump Offers Plan To Lower Taxes For All, Obviously Leads To Screeching About Tax Cuts For Rich

Realistically, Trump (or any Republican) could offer a plan that specifically raises taxes on corporations and The Rich, and it’d still be called tax cuts for the rich

(Breitbart) President Donald Trump announced the framework of his tax plan Wednesday afternoon, boasting that it would restore the American dream for working families.

“This is the right time. Democrats and Republicans in Congress should come together to deliver this giant win for the American people and begin the middle-class miracle once again,” Trump said as the crowd applauded. “It’s also called a miracle for our great companies.”

The president traveled to Indiana for his speech, noting that under Governor Mike Pence the state made impressive economic gains as a result of lower taxes and regulations. He spoke at the Farm Bureau Building at the state fairgrounds in Indianapolis.

He wants the average family to fill out one piece of paper when doing their taxes. And some of what he is looking to enact

Trump promoted the idea of cutting taxes for working-class Americans, allowing the first $12,000 of earned income to remain tax-free — $24,000 for married couples.

He promoted three different tax rates of 12 percent, 25 percent, and 35 percent for different income brackets.

The president promoted pro-family policies like the expansion of the child tax credit and eliminating the marriage penalties. He also promoted a $500 tax credit for dependent adults or the elderly. His framework also included a plan to eliminate the alternative minimum tax and end the “death tax” permanently.

Trump said his plan aims to cap the tax rate for millions of small businesses and farms at 25 percent and allow them to write off the cost of equipment in the same year they purchased it.

You can read the one-pager release from the White House here, and the full framework here. Remember when Obama’s plans were essentially written on sticky notes?

Obviously, this has caused freakouts, like

Trump Tax Plan Benefits Wealthy, Including Trump

which appears in the hard news section, yet reads like an op-ed. Then we have the Editorial Board in apoplexy

A Boondoggle Masquerading as Tax Reform

After months of secret negotiations, the Trump administration and congressional leaders have come up with a tax plan — sort of. What they have really come up with is a wish list of tax cuts for the wealthy, with lots of “we’ll get back to you on that” promises where the details are supposed to be.

This much is clear: The tax “framework” published by Republican leaders on Wednesday would greatly increase the federal deficit, would not turbocharge economic growth and could leave many middle-class families worse off by ending deductions they rely on. It would do little or nothing to improve the lot of the working class, a group President Trump says he is fighting for. It would instead provide a windfall to hedge fund managers, corporate executives, real estate developers and other members of the 1 percent. And can it be just a happy coincidence that Mr. Trump and his family would benefit “bigly” from this plan?

It’s the same old same old complaints from the media elite. They manufacture ways that lowering tax rates for individuals and small businesses aren’t actual cuts. You can tell they really didn’t read the materials from the White House. And, as far as deficits go, the last people who should be complaining about deficits and debt are Democrats.

Much of the Trump plan is about streamlining taxation, things like removing all the different “tax regimes”, which “exist to govern the tax treatment of certain industries and sectors.” Everyone should be taxed the same. And so much more. Considering how many people the NY Times has laid off, and looks to lay off, they’re the last ones who should be whining about knowing how business works.
