A Friendly Reminder That The Planet Is Melting Or Something

It’s these kinds of unhinged screeds that make it hard to take the Cult of Climastrology seriously

Your friendly reminder the Planet is melting – Last 400 months were all warmer-than-average global temperatures

NOAA just confirmed the last 400 months were all warmer-than-average global temperatures…

For 400 months in a row, our planet has been unusually hot
Our overheating planet just reached another staggering — maybe even astronomical — new milestone.

In a report out Thursday, NOAA confirmed that April was the 400th consecutive month of warmer-than-average global temperatures. The last month cooler than the 20th century average was December 1984, back in the days of big hair and Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”

We’ve come a long way since then. Somehow, though, we’re still debating whether human activity is behind the warmer atmosphere, not to mention what the hell we’re going to do about it.

Either the last 400 months were all an incredible coincidence — we’ll get to that in a second — or something else is going on. I’m thinking it’s the latter.

I’ve rather ignored the pointless silliness on 400 months, something most Skeptics have ignored, a claim involving 33.33 years. It’s a silly argument, and utterly made up. Especially when the same people who are making these prognostications are the ones controlling the data. And you have articles that blow this talking point away, like

Of course, Warmists will say “but, this is just the U.S.!!!!! If we look at temps around the world, it means melting!”

Warnings Australia is in for its coldest winter ON RECORD bringing heavy rain and snowfall – so book your trip to the slopes now

Many places around the world had below average winters. And cooler than normal summers. And not in just 2018. So, there is, statistically, no way that ever single one of those 400 months were above the average, even when said average is typically from 1961 to 1990, a period of cooling (61-78) and warming (79-90). And, even so, we’re only talking about tenths and hundreds of a degree.

And, still no proof of anthropogenic causation.

Say, What’s The Biggest Mistake We’ve Made On ‘Climate Change’ (scam)

Personally, it’s a tough choice between allowing scientists with agenda muck with the data, manufacture data, spin data, and so forth, or not pushing members of the Cult of Climastrology to practice what they preach from the top down. The Sydney Morning Herald’s Ross Gittins has a different idea

The biggest mistake we’ve made on climate change

…..

The biggest mistake we’ve made is to allow our politicians to turn concern about global warming into a party-political issue, and do so merely for their own short-term advantage.

The initial motives may have been short term, but the adverse effects have been lasting. These days, for a Liberal voter to worry about climate change is to be disloyal to their party and give comfort to the enemy.

Apparently, only socialists think their grandkids will have anything to worry about. The right-thinkers among us know the only bad thing our offspring will inherit is Labor’s debt.

Global warming used not to be, shouldn’t be and doesn’t have to stay a right-versus-left issue. In Europe it’s bipartisan. Margaret Thatcher was a vocal fighter for action on climate change, and the Conservative Party is anti-denial to this day.

See, politicizing it is bad, so, hey, let’s politicize it! Thatcher may have originally been a anthropogenic climate change believer, but, as evidence came out, she became a skeptic. Funny how Ross forgets to mention that, eh? Why? Because that wouldn’t fit the Narrative.

Further, Gittins seems to be placing most of the blame on Skeptics, rather than people on the political left (who are really on the right of the political scale, in the Authoritarian models, like Fascism. In theory, Socialism and Communism are to the left, because of the limited roles of government. In practice, way to the right, bigger and strong and more centralized government) who hijacked what might have been actual science to use it to push their hardcore government control policies. This especially happened with the fall of the Soviet Union, and so many of the Commies and Commie lovers invaded and hijacked the environmental movement and started using anthropogenic global warming as their base platform.

And this has been political ever since, so you get things like this

What does she mean by “take on”? So many of her Warmist comrades mean silence, jail, and even murder Skeptics. Does she feel that way? Crazy Uncle Bernie had an official policy during his run for president of “bringing climate deniers to justice.” So, even going well beyond Kamala’s threat of infringing on 1st Amendment rights.

Making the issue political was never a bug: it was a feature.

Say, Did The Trump Admin Really Lose A Bunch Of Illegal Alien Kids?

No. One of the things leftists have been going hog wild over the past few days in regards to illegal immigration (also on kids in cages and prison bus for toddlers, both of which happened under Obama, but they still tried to Blame Trump) is Trump losing 1,500 illegal alien kids, which Is The Worst Thing Ever!!!!!!. In Liberal World, it’s 20 times worse than something like running over 2,500 guns, losing them, and having them be implicated in the shootings up to death of Mexicans, Mexican kids, and US Border Patrol agents. Surprisingly, the NY Times actually pours cold water on this (but, Monday was a holiday, so an actual reporter, probably an intern, did Journalism)

Did the Trump Administration Separate Immigrant Children From Parents and Lose Them?

President Trump over the weekend falsely blamed Democrats for a “horrible law” separating immigrant children from their parents. In fact, his own administration had just announced this policy earlier this month.

His comments followed days of growing alarm that federal authorities have lost track of more than 1,000 immigrant children, mostly from Central America, giving rise to hashtags like #WhereAreTheChildren and claims that children are being ripped from their parents’ arms at the border and then being lost.

But the president is not the only one spreading wrong information. Across social media, there have been confusing reports of what happened to these immigrant children. Here are some answers.

Did the Trump administration separate nearly 1,500 immigrant children from their parents at the border, and then lose track of them?

No. The government did realize last year that it lost track of 1,475 migrant children it had placed with sponsors in the United States, according to testimony before a Senate subcommittee last month. But those children had arrived alone at the Southwest border — without their parents. Most of them are from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, and were fleeing drug cartels, gang violence and domestic abuse, according to government data.

So, not ripping them from their mother’s breast and placing them with utter strangers and stuff? Huh.

Officials at the Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees refugee resettlement, began making calls last year to determine what had happened to 7,635 children the government had helped place between last October and the end of the year.

From these calls, officials learned that 6,075 children remained with their sponsors. Twenty-eight had run away, five had been removed from the United States and 52 had relocated to live with a nonsponsor. The rest were unaccounted for, giving rise to the 1,475 number. It is possible that some of the adult sponsors simply chose not to respond to the agency.

Surprise! People not responding to calls. Weird, eh? How many calls do you blow off? One has to wonder how many were just bad numbers.

But, wait, it gets better

Losing track of children who arrive at the border alone is not a new phenomenon. A 2016 inspector general report showed that the federal government was able to reach only 84 percent of children it had placed, leaving 4,159 unaccounted for.

So this happened under Obama, and there was no freakout from the Credentialed Media nor Democrats. Anyhow

Tales Of Raaaaacism: Woman Doctor Humiliated For Playing Music Too Loud

This is apparently just as bad as when those guys were kicked out of the Starbucks the other month. It’s horrible! Because no Caucasian has ever had the cops called for playing music too loud in their apartment. This is by Mary Branch, a resident at the University of North Carolina

I’m a black doctor. My neighbors called the cops on me for listening to Biggie.

That’s the headline on the front page of the Washington Post online. In the article it reads

My white neighbors called the cops on me for listening to hip-hop

Knock knock.

Who could that be? I thought. It was such an aggressive knock — definitely not friendly — that I froze. I finally stood up and walked to the door. I opened it with purpose, ready to confront the person on the other side.

He said: “Your neighbors called the police for a disturbance.”

It was 3 p.m. on a Saturday, last fall.

She was super excited to be off work for a bit, had found out she was pregnant, and just wanted to unwind, dance, and sing. She claims she turns down the volume on songs that have a lot of bass. The cop showing up means something different.

Although I hear other drivers blaring loud rock or country music all the time, I know an African American playing my type of music tends to draw negative attention. Nevertheless, this music was what I needed to embrace the joy I felt.

I’ve called the apartment management in days back on neighbors playing rock and rap. Multiple times. So did others. Because even back in the 90’s and early 2000’s, management companies did not want to confront tenets, they preferred you logged a complaint with the police. And in both cases of the people who lived in that particular apartment and one other, they were white. A little bit of bass goes a long in cheaply constructed apartments. Granted, this wasn’t at 3 in the afternoon, but, maybe it was louder than Ms. Branch thought, and maybe people were trying to sleep. But, you know, it’s raaaaacism. And, yeah, music about bitches and hoes and dealing drugs and being part of gang activity and such does tend to draw negative attention, especially when it seems to only be loud bass shaking a car.

Then came the knocks.

On my doorstep was a man with a gun; it was a police officer. He spoke abruptly and was frightening.

“Is someone else in here?” he said. His hand was near his hip, close to the gun in its holster.

Anyone else think this is utterly exaggerated to look negatively on police officers? Especially since your hands tend to always be near your hips?

He explained that he would have to report the incident, but nothing really happens unless there is a repeated offense. I hardly felt listening to the Notorious B.I.G. at 3 p.m. on a Saturday was an “offense.” I’ve lived in many cities, and I could not imagine calling the police on a neighbor for anything like this. And I’m confident that my Caucasian neighbors would not have involved the police if some of the music they heard hadn’t been hip-hop.

If it’s loud enough and late enough, I would. I don’t care if you’re playing Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Rush, or Deep Purple, four of my top favorite groups: I don’t want to hear your music. I don’t care if it’s Abba, Kenny Loggins, or Christopher Cross. Classical or smooth jazz. 80’s pop. You want it loud in an apartment complex? Wear headphones.

I cannot prove that this was an act based on bias. But in studying and practicing medicine, I have developed skills in pattern recognition. They are well adapted to making a diagnosis of racism.

After that incident, I could not sleep for a few nights, because of how hurt I felt. Having a policeman approach and confront me left me feeling embarrassed, humiliated and powerless. I felt like an unwanted outsider in a community of which I thought I was a member.

Oh, please. Just stop it. Anyone else concerned about using a doctor who so easily has their feelings hurt over much ado about nothing?

Not long ago, two African American gentlemen were arrested in a Starbucks in Philadelphia while simply waiting for a colleague; I understand how fearful and helpless they must have felt. Then there was the woman wrestled to the floor by police at a Waffle House; I can relate to her likely feelings of anger mixed with submission. These scenarios aren’t new, nor are the emotions they stir up in us. As people of color, we’ve learned to present ourselves in an assimilated manner to shield ourselves from overpolicing. The poet Paul Laurence Dunbar described it best: “We wear the mask that grins and lies.”

Good grief. We go from being Offended because she made a mistake to linking it to the Starbucks issue (and blaming the cops). The woman in Waffle House? She was abusive and made threats. And now blaming the cops for “overpolicing”. If they are called, they must come.

Oh, and BTW, how did she know it was a white neighbor? It could easily have been someone else in the complex. Even management. It could be that she’s assigning her own racism to blaming the wrong person.

Young Americans Totally Want ‘Climate Change’ (scam) Solutions On Other People

When you control the education system and the news media, you can forcefeed young stupid minds anything you want

Young Americans Want Solutions To Climate Change

It was one of the largest youth-led protests since the Vietnam War, as hundreds of thousands of Americans took to the capital to protest gun violence. But it wasn’t the size or scale of the March for Our Lives that made it remarkable. As Robinson Meyer of The Atlantic wrote, it was that “adults paid attention to the everyday lives and traumas of young people — not out of fear, anxiety or frustration — but out of respect.”

I thought the march was about gun grabbing and disarmament of law abiding citizens gun control. No? How is this part of Hotcoldwetdry?

Youth organizers from Parkland, Florida, made gun violence into a personal issue, and in so doing, they mobilized millions. Now, their peers in high schools and colleges across the United States are vying to do the same for climate change.

“Seeing it from that perspective, it isn’t a partisan issue. These children are fearing for their lives, and they just want change. That’s what we want to do with our movement,” said Zanagee Artis, a high school senior from Clinton, Connecticut and founding member of Zero Hour, a youth-led climate advocacy group. “Some people might not believe in climate change, but we’re asking them to believe in us. We want change as well.”

Ah. That’s how. As usual, the Cult of Climastrology attempts to infiltrate if not hijack everything else.

And I’ll “believe in you” when you walk the talk.

Around nine in 10 millennials understand that the climate is changing, the highest proportion of any age group, while nearly eight in 10 think humankind must work to stem the rise in temperature. That includes a majority of Republicans. Most young Republicans recognize that humans are altering the climate and want the government to tackle the problem.

And all their solutions involve force by government, rather than changing their own behavior. Go figure.

Everybody Panic: Hotcoldwetdry Could Turn Streams Into Carbon Polluters

Doom, guys, total doom

Study: Climate change could turn streams into carbon polluters

A new study has found that if the climate warms as projected, warmer streams could compound the effects of global warming by adding more heat-trapping carbon dioxide to the atmosphere.

Scientists tested the carbon output of streams at seven locations across the globe, including watersheds in Oregon, Puerto Rico, Alaska and Australia.

Seven! Doom!

They used that data to simulate how much more carbon dioxide streams would emit if their temperatures were warmer by 1 degree Celsius. Overall, they found that small increase in temperature resulted in a 24 percent increase in carbon dioxide emissions.

In other words, the just got the results they wanted from computer models.

New Study Links Trump With White American Intolerance And Authoritarianism Or Something

Over at A View From The Beach (which has a great morning post on swimming), Fritz has a long running series on Reasons Trump Was Elected, like this one. Many of them revolved around shoddy, idiotic, unhinged, Trump Derangement Syndrome media reports. Like this one by Excitable Noah Berlatsky at NBC News

The Trump effect: New study connects white American intolerance and support for authoritarianism

Since the founding of the United States, politicians and pundits have warned that partisanship is a danger to democracy. George Washington, in his Farewell Address, worried that political parties, or factions, could “allow cunning, ambitious and unprincipled men” to rise to power and subvert democracy. More recently, many political observers are concerned that increasing political polarization on left and right makes compromise impossible, and leads to the destruction of democratic norms and institutions.

A new study, however, suggests that the main threat to our democracy may not be the hardening of political ideology, but rather the hardening of one particular political ideology. Political scientists Steven V. Miller of Clemson and Nicholas T. Davis of Texas A&M have released a working paper titled “White Outgroup Intolerance and Declining Support for American Democracy.” Their study finds a correlation between white American’s intolerance, and support for authoritarian rule. In other words, when intolerant white people fear democracy may benefit marginalized people, they abandon their commitment to democracy.

Miller and Davis used information from the World Values Survey, a research project organized by a worldwide network of social scientists which polls individuals in numerous countries on a wide range of beliefs and values. Based on surveys from the United States, the authors found that white people who did not want to have immigrants or people of different races living next door to them were more likely to be supportive of authoritarianism. For instance, people who said they did not want to live next door to immigrants or to people of another race were more supportive of the idea of military rule, or of a strongman-type leader who could ignore legislatures and election results.

You can see kinda where this is going, right? Part of it is that if you do not want illegal aliens in the U.S., well, then you support authoritarianism and white nationalism. But, hey, I wonder if their survey includes anything on gentrification, which is really about “minority” racists not wanting whites to move into their neighborhoods and rehabilitate them.

Anyhow, you know this is All About Trump, right?

The World Values Survey data used is from the period 1995 to 2011 — well before Donald Trump’s 2016 run for president. It suggests, though, that Trump’s bigotry and his authoritarianism are not separate problems, but are intertwined. When Trump calls Mexicans “rapists,” and when he praises authoritarian leaders, he is appealing to the same voters.

So, a meager 17 years of data, take during the time of two Democrat presidents and one Republican one, long before Trump, but, this is about Trump? Sigh

“Social intolerance isn’t just leading to GOP support as we know it and see it now,” Miller says. “It’s leading to preferences in favor of the kind of candidate the GOP ultimately nominated and supported for president.” In embracing the politics of white identity, then, the GOP made a Trump possible — and is likely to make more Trump-like candidates successful in the future.

Another meme running around the Right-O-Sphere is “this is why Trump won in 2016 and will win in 2020”. And this type of TDS article is exactly why Trump will win in 2020.
