Yet more hysteria. And, bad science. Very bad science
One of Earth’s biggest stores of carbon dioxide sits locked within the decaying vegetation found in peatlands, which range from tropical peat swamps to Arctic permafrost. A fast-warming world could transform those peatlands into a “compost bomb” that would dump huge amounts of carbon into the atmosphere, British researchers have calculated.
Notice, they mentioned CO2 at first, then continued on by simply writing “carbon.” While the former contains the latter, they are not the same. Sure, they could be using “carbon” in place of writing “carbon dioxide” for brevity, but, why not write “CO2” all the time? This is simply lazy and bad science. The rest gets as silly and stupid, with multiple mentions of “tipping points” and “fast-warming”, which, despite all the dire and breathless predictions, have yet to happen.
