House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said last week that passing energy and climate change legislation is a “moral issue”—although, at the same time, she indicated that she is “agnostic” about what means should be used in legislation to reduce dependence on foreign oil and consumption of fossil fuels.

Pelosi also said the issue was about “God’s beautiful creation” which we have a “moral responsibility” to preserve.

Really? A “moral issue?” She is not a very good Darwinist, eh, because Darwin talked about survival of the fittest, not morality, and pretty much said the Earth will survive just fine without humans. Which it will. Which it did before us. Nature is not moral. Nature just is. Man is moral (or not). But, when a Democrat starts talking about morality (hey, Nance, do you support abortion on demand?), you know their policy position is pretty weak.

And Jimmy Carter?

Former President Jimmy Carter has voiced concern that Monday’s Supreme Court ruling on “material support” to terrorist groups may criminalize his “work to promote peace and freedom.”

In a statement reacting to the decision, Carter said, “We are disappointed that the Supreme Court has upheld a law that inhibits the work of human rights and conflict resolution groups.”

“The ‘material support law’ – which is aimed at putting an end to terrorism – actually threatens our work and the work of many other peacemaking organizations that must interact directly with groups that have engaged in violence,” he said.

“The vague language of the law leaves us wondering if we will be prosecuted for our work to promote peace and freedom.”

So, Jimmy, working with terrorist groups and providing them material aid, groups who probably think of you as simply a high value useful idiot, promotes peace? Obama may be working to make Carter the 2nd worst president ever, but, I doubt anyone will be able to overtake Carter as the worst ex-president ever. Nothing like working with groups who like to kill Americans to cement that distinction.
