“Kill Him” Was, You Know, Made Up. Updated With Debate Transcript

Hmmm, so the liberal meme about someone yelling “kill him” at a Palin rally? Apparently, a complete load: Secret Service says “Kill him” allegation unfounded

The agent in charge of the Secret Service field office in Scranton said allegations that someone yelled “kill him” when presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s name was mentioned during Tuesday’s Sarah Palin rally are unfounded.

The Scranton Times-Tribune first reported the alleged incident on its Web site Tuesday and then again in its print edition Wednesday. The first story, written by reporter David Singleton, appeared with allegations that while congressional candidate Chris Hackett was addressing the crowd and mentioned Oabama’s name a man in the audience shouted “kill him.”

Slavoski said more than 20 non-security agents were interviewed Wednesday, from news media to ordinary citizens in attendance at the rally for the Republican vice presidential candidate held at the Riverfront Sports Complex. He said Singleton was the only one to say he heard someone yell “kill him.”

“We have yet to find someone to back up the story,” Slavoski said. “We had people all over and we have yet to find anyone who said they heard it.”

So, the only person who can corroborate the reporters story is…..the reporter.

Remember the days when reporters sourced their stories?

From Patterico: Now, the mythology of the lying left would have it, they didn’t just scream “Kill him!” referring to Obama (which itself never happened) — they even screamed “Kill Obama!”

Others: Michelle Malkin, Little Green Footballs, Newsbusters,

Update: Was reading the debate transcript, and what did I find?

Obama: I mean, look, if we want to talk about Congressman Lewis, who is an American hero, he, unprompted by my campaign, without my campaign’s awareness, made a statement that he was troubled with what he was hearing at some of the rallies that your running mate was holding, in which all the Republican reports indicated were shouting, when my name came up, things like “terrorist” and “kill him,” and that you’re running mate didn’t mention, didn’t stop, didn’t say “Hold on a second, that’s kind of out of line.”

Um, no they aren’t Barry.

OK, back from the Outer Banks, taking a look to see if ABC News, The Washington Monthly, Keith O., the AP, or any of the usual suspects have bothered to report this. Um, I’ll take “no” for $1,000, Alex. I’d suggest contacting them and asking them “what’s up wit dat?,” but, we know it would be about as useful as the liberals constant petitions.

However, the Seattle Times apparently forgot to get their caffeine fix, as they are way, way, way behind the story curve.

Still waiting for the Scranton Times-Tribune to say “gee, maybe our reporter is, you know, full of it.”

“Co-oberate?” That some new kind of fancy pirate talk that I’m not privvy to yet, Cap’n? 😉

  3. I don’t even know how spell checker did that one. Had it spelled wrong, with an a instead of an o, then????????

What a surprise, and since it is out there & reported, there will of course be no retraction.

I wasn’t surprised in the least bit. Let’s not forget all the “voter suppressions” that took place in 2000 that never took place. Hell, we can’t even get them to admit that Bush actually won in Florida even after the NYT and other left wing agencies went there to prove it and found out otherwise. I actually predicted it as soon as the MSM reported that the Palin rallies were drawing a lot more than even the Obama rallies. Another prediction: They’ll be busing in Obama supporters to Obama rallies until they have enough to say that there were “X” amount of people at the rally and the numbers will be exaggerated substantially. Facts don’t lie. Palin debates… 70 million people watch. Palin goes on SNL and they see ratings they haven’t seen for 14 years. Why do you think Oprah doesn’t want her on the show?
