Warmists Tell Us Exactly What They Want To Do

Well, what they want for Everyone Else, since they are mostly not doing this for themselves (via Tom Nelson)

((Progressive) Universe Today) Toward the end of this 900-page report, the IPCC looked toward our future, focusing on the climate after the year 2100. Here, Universe Today, explores two extreme scenarios for the Earth by 2100.

1.) Embracing the Challenges of Climate Change

The conclusions reached by climate scientists at the end of the 21st Century were undeniable. We embraced climate change by investing heavily in renewable energies. Both large-scale companies and individuals bought energy drawn from the sunlight, wind, and geothermal heat. (shouldn’t that read “were forced to buy drastically increasing the cost of business and life?)

Homes across the world became more sustainable. Their total square feet shrunk, as home owners learned to live with less. It was not uncommon to dress a roof with plants or solar panels. Even the layout of homes changed. They rested partially underground, taking advantage of geothermal heat, and faced South (in the case of the Northern hemisphere) to take advantage of the warm sunlight. (so, smaller homes and we have to do with less because no one can afford it and innovation has been stifled by high taxation. Oh, and we’re apparently turning into Morlocks)

We now eat far less meat than we did in the early 21st Century to cut the emissions generated from livestock farming. Pastures have been replaced with booming forests – helping to absorb CO2. We also eat more locally. (OK, forced vegetarian Morlocks. Looks like even soylent green is out)

The world followed in China’s footsteps and restricted couples to a certain number of children, reducing our overall population. (funny how Warmists mostly consider to have more than 1 child themselves. They’d be surprised as hell when the fascistic government child decrees effected themselves.)

We live in small compact cities where we drive hybrid cars and take public transport to work. Carbon offsets must be purchased when taking long trips. Most families vacation in their own backyard – exploring all that nature has to offer in the nearby vicinity. (We take staycations because no one has any money because everything is super expensive, and unemployment is about 50%, plus there are few in the younger generation to pay for all the promised social safety nets. Oh, and all the nature of urban gangs do what they do at our tiny homes because personal protection will surely be banned in this Progressive utopia)

Aren’t you thrilled with the way Warmists envision the future?

While we are on pinups, since it is that time of year, have you gotten your “Pinups for Vets” calendar yet? And don’t forget to check out what I declare to be our War on Women Rule 5 and linky luv posts

Anyone else have a link or hotty-fest going on? Let me know so I can add you to the list. (BTW, since someone asked, the reason I leave links for the previous week up (or you might see a *) is because they are place holders for later in the day or for next weeks. Easier than rewriting all the time. Also, the listing order has to do with how they are added over time, not how good a post is. I just copy and paste from the previous week, then edit. If you see one of the *’s, go ahead and check out the blog anyhow, see if there is an update. I cannot update with my Android during the day.

Surprise: Obama Wants Increased Revenue For Debt Deal

The question is, is Mr. “I won’t negotiate” Obama using the notion of increased revenue as a way of blunting the demands from Republicans (and the American People who hate Obamacare), or is he simply demanding new revenue, ie, taxation, like he’s done before? I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the latter. We’ve seen multiple times that when a deal is almost in place President Stompy Foot demands much more, scuttling the deal

(NY Times) Be skeptical. Be very, very skeptical.

That was the reaction from nearly all corners to the talk of convening yet another round of bipartisan negotiations to reduce the nation’s long-term debt. The idea has resurfaced as a way of resolving the standoff between President Obama and the Republican-controlled House over reopening the government and increasing its legal borrowing limit, perhaps for months or even just weeks.

But even if the current talks soon resolve the immediate impasse, which did not look likely on Saturday, any renewal of negotiations for a long-term fiscal plan will run into the same underlying problem that has doomed efforts for the past three years.

Republicans refuse to raise additional tax revenue, and until they do, Mr. Obama will not support even his own tentative proposals for reducing spending on fast-growing social benefit programs, chiefly Medicare. During a White House meeting with Senate Republicans on Friday, he reiterated that the two go hand in hand, according to people who were there.

There you have, the NY Times, the “paper of record”, has said it. Obama’s default position is “increase taxes”. Though writer Jackie Calmes does write something silly about “Mr. Obama and Democrats say some of that revenue must be used to pay down the debt.” Would that be the almost $7 trillion in debt they’ve run up in….counting…less than 5 years since Obama took office? They have no intention of using increased taxation to do anything but fund pet projects and interest groups, along with increasing dependency on Government. Debt reduction? Good luck with that.

“Climate Change” Will Cause Lots Of Snow And Cold Misery

What with all the early snow and cold, we’re entering the psychoneurotic/bat guano insane time of where they blame GHGs. Sadly, lots of people actually believe this crap

Climate change misery: Snow and deep freeze spell disaster for livestock

Midwestern ranchers recently dealt with the shock of losing vital livestock in aftermath of a historic blizzard. Climate change has claimed millions of herd animals in the recent past and will again in the future.

Due to the government shutdown, ranchers who lost thousands of cattle in last week’s catastrophic snowstorms across parts of the Midwest won’t get any immediate federal funding to help with their loses, but for the short term, most are simply consumed with the grim and heartbreaking task of burying thousands of cows on family ranches.

The loss of livestock and food crops will only continue as experts predict increasing weather extremes. Changing climate has already left few places on Earth untouched by anomalous weather.

The United Nations climate report recently released by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) found that climate change may have already passed the tipping point and scientists are 95 percent certain that human activity is the cause.

Britain Braces For Worst CO2 Induced Winter Weather In Decades

You got up, turn on the TV and coffee maker which had never been unplugged, wasted water by taking a 5 minute shower, used more than 2 sheets of TP, used some hair spray, then got in your fossil fueled vehicle to go to your workplace with central AC. And because of your monstrous carbon footprint…

(UK Express) Forecasters last night warned the entire country is set for a horror freeze which will bring brutal winds and fierce blizzards.

Temperatures have already started to plunge as a swathe of cold air from the Arctic has swept across the UK in the past few days.

The first long-range forecasts warn of “recordbreaking snowfall” next month.

Heavy wintry showers are expected to cause widespread chaos with below-average temperatures possibly lingering until February.

I bet you also had a burger for lunch, meaning

James Madden, forecaster for Exacta Weather, said it was likely to be the worst winter for more than 100 years.

You just had buy a fridge with an ice maker, didn’t you. Tsk, tsk. You couldn’t have replaced your bulbs with CFLs? For shame. And NSA surveillance shows that you have refused to create a compost heap with your garbage. Plus, I think I saw a plastic bottle, which you further refused to separate and recycle.  We’re doomed. Thanks to you.

Wash Post: “Obamacare Save My Family!!!!!”

I’m waiting for the opinion piece “Obamacare killed my family when my employer dropped my hours to part time and dropped our coverage”

Obamacare saved my family from financial ruin

House Speaker John Boehner and his tea party friends shut down the U.S. government because of people like me. I am the mother of an insurance hog, someone who could have blown through his lifetime limit of health coverage by the time he was 14. My son has managed to survive despite seemingly insurmountable challenges, and he wears his preexisting condition like a Super Bowl ring.

Good thing this isn’t political. In the first paragraph. Because Boehner and other Americans apparently want to bankrupt her and her family. Anyhow, her son was sadly born with a brain tumor, and Ms. Urbaniak Reid discusses this before moving on to

Mason spent most of eighth grade in the hospital. In the six months he was hospitalized, he spent 65 days in the pediatric intensive care unit. He underwent four brain surgeries. Halfway through his hospitalization, the Affordable Care Act was passed, alleviating lifetime limits on coverage and saving us from the financial abyss. Mason moved to a rehabilitation hospital where he was retaught the most basic skills — sitting up, eating and standing. We faithfully paid the premiums on the employer-sponsored plan through which our family is covered, along with the rest of our bills, thanking God and whoever else would listen for our good fortune to have coverage.

Interestingly, I think we can all empathize or sympathize with their plight. Nor are Conservatives and folks on the right against removing those lifetime limits. I’m not. Nor am I against deeming that people cannot be dropped for getting sick. However, these notions are simply honey poured on top of nasty medicine. Or, better, putting a nice pretzel bun, tomatoes, and catsup on top of a sh*t patty.

The biggest fear for families such as mine is that we will lose our health insurance and be rendered uninsurable because one of us has been sick. The Affordable Care Act does away with dreaded clauses barring preexisting conditions. It also enables us to keep Mason on our insurance until he is 26; then, he will be able to purchase his own coverage on an insurance exchange. At least, that was the plan until last Tuesday, when the government was shut down in protest of such excesses.

Hmm, it seems that the reason people can’t sign up is because Team Obama really truly sucks at rolling out this abomination, not the shutdown.

I don’t want it to seem like I’m making light of the plight of the family, yet, if you put yourself out in the political realm, expect blowback. Lots of families are worried about losing their coverage through their companies as well as their own private plans thanks to Obamacare. They’re worried about losing their doctors, seeing a reduced availability of doctors and medical centers, along with rationing, all of which come with the Exchange plans. Their worried about losing their jobs or seeing their hours cut. Their worried about the economic malaise, caused in part because of the “Affordable” Care Act. Their worried about paying lots of money for the insurance they are required by law to purchase. Even though Obama gave waivers to friendly groups and postponed the employer mandate till after the 2014 midterms.

All the things Ms. Urbaniak Reid likes could have been implemented without destroying our health insurance and care industry, along with the economy. Folks like her want to make it personal. Well, thanks to her belief in the full package of the ACA, her son is doing well, but she is one of the people responsible for making sure people are making less, working less, losing their good insurance, and being long term unemployed.

Republicans Ready To Give Obama Everything He Wants?

I’ll admit, I had some concerns with the whole shutdown plan. First, because there was no way the Democrat controlled Senate would defund the “Affordable” Care Act, and on the .001% chance that happened, Obama wouldn’t sign it. Nor would they delay the individual mandate. Nor make substantive changes that fix the issues that are destroying our economy, causing people to lose their health insurance, and cause Obamacare premiums to skyrocket. Democrats do not want to listen to the American people who hate Obamacare, and really do not care about Americans except as serfs.

I was concerned that they had no plan for when the “A”CA launched and failed. They could have come out on 10/2 and said “well, Ocare is collapsing and is as bad as we thought, here’s a CR that has cuts, we’re moving on.” I was concerned that the GOP had no plan to move from the “A”CA to serious cuts. And, with so many, let’s call them …. “squishy jerks”, ones like John McCain and Peter King, among others, I was concerned that something like this would happen

(Breitbart) House Republicans have sent the White House a revised proposal to lift the debt ceiling for six weeks, as well as reopen government through December 15th, which was their original spending proposal before the partial shutdown. The revised GOP plan reflects the demands Obama made in a meeting with House GOP Leaders on Thursday. It also reflects the unwillingness of the DC GOP to face a fiscal showdown with Democrats.

Aside from reopening the government and agreeing to raise America’s debt over the current $16.7 trillion limit, the Republicans made several other concession to President Obama and the Democrats. One such example is that Obamacare would receive funding. The Republicans would get to take out a portion of the president’s signature legislation, but the law would substantially remain intact. The AP reports:

Under a proposal she and other GOP senators have been developing, a medical device tax that helps finance the health care law would be repealed, and millions of individuals eligible for subsidies to purchase health insurance under the program would be subject to stronger income verification.

This has obviously not gone through, and is simply from reports. But, can’t you see this as what the GOP squishes are proposing? Doesn’t it feel like something the GOP would do? Instead of attacking Obama for Shutdown Theater, for closing open air monuments, for the cones on roads, etc, for his intransigence, they seem to be willing to compromise, ie, give in for a few bones sucked dry of meat and marrow

In exchange for meeting, at least momentarily, all of Obama’s demands, the House GOP is seeking a “framework” for future negotiations on addressing longer-term budget issues. These negotiations would be led for the Republicans by Rep. Paul Ryan, who is likely to seek a “grand bargain” resolving the nation’s structural budget problems.

Anyone who believes Obama and the Democrats will negotiate, even in bad faith, afterwards, please go sit in the corner with a dunce hat. Remember, Senate Democrats said they would pass an actual budget, something they haven’t done since Obama took office, as part of the debt deal earlier in this same year.

Schoolkids Won’t Know What Standing Trees Look Like

Won’t someone please think of the kids?

Winter has arrived in southern Germany with the first heavy snowfall hitting Bavaria on Thursday night and Friday morning.

Trees which have collapsed under the weight of the snow are also posing a danger for drivers and pedestrians. On one stretch of road out of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, 15 trees blocked traffic.

Unfortunately, the kids destroyed the non-replaceable frozen precipitation caused by someone, probably you, refusing to unplug all your Electrics, by making snowmen, rendrering it unusable for drinking.
