Washington Post Againt Attempts To Explain Why Hot Creates Cold And Snow

Like a puppy with rabies, Climastrologers have their teeth in this meme and won’t let go

How climate change may be producing more blockbuster snowstorms

After another extreme winter in the eastern United States – symbolized by Boston’s historic snow blitz of 90 inches in just over three weeks – scientists, the media and the public are asking once again: Is climate change causing more extreme snowfall events?

The argument that climate change is leading to greater snowfalls is based on a very simple law of physics – a warmer atmosphere can hold more moisture. But on the other hand, snowfall is dependent on sub-freezing temperatures, so what does it mean for places like the eastern United States, where climate change might make it too warm for snowfall?

In Warmist World, it means more snow and cold.

The best tools we have to answer such a complex question, which incorporate all the physics and competing factors, are the climate models. Put simply, climate models are similar to weather models but run on a much larger scale in both space and time. They take into account interactions between land, oceans and ice, and importantly, they attempt to predict changes in our climate as greenhouse gases increase in the atmosphere.

Weather models are often not particularly accurate when you get to 5 days and out. Because weather is volatile.

All of the climate models predict that mid-latitude storm tracks (like the winter storms we see in the United States) will shift toward the poles with climate change — north in the Northern Hemisphere, and south in the Southern Hemisphere. They also predict more precipitation overall.

Uh huh. They also failed to predict the Pause. And are 95% wrong. The rest is just giving it a good old try in linking more cold and snow with hot. Cult.

Ready For Thirteen Steps To Stop Hotcoldwetdry?

Are you ready for them to mostly ignore Warmists practicing what they preach?

(UK Guardian) With the sustainable development goals and a climate deal coming up this year our panel say how to make the most of this once-in-a-generation opportunity

Let’s see those ideas, each of which comes from the different panelists

  1. Start by asking the tough questions: (things like “When we get down to the tangible elements like finance, how can we improve coherence between different funding streams, and better connect finance with countries’ sustainable development priorities?”)
  2. See climate change and poverty as two sides of the same coin: (in other words, the Cult Of Climastrology is now mixing the two, which is interesting, since Leftist policies tend to create more poverty)
  3. Fight gender inequality: (another mixing of political beliefs from people who practice neither)
  4. Recognise the conflict between economic development and the environment: (in other words, capitalism for Other People is Evil with a capital E)
  5. Don’t get distracted by geopolitics (ignore those actual dangers like war and the continued rise of Islamic extremism)
  6. Accept that this is a moral fight (but, hey, don’t worry about being moral and practicing what you preach. Also amusing because these same people are 110% for abortion on demand)
  7. Find the funding to make change a reality (more and more taxation, obviously)
  8. Look beyond 2015 (a continued push for spreading awareness. Kinda like the guy who carries a The End Is Nye! sign for 30 years)
  9. Learn from the MDGs (supposedly, they are supposed to understand why the Millennium Development Goals have failed. Like the rest of their “science”)
  10. Put trade reform on the agenda (another assault on capitalism)
  11. Focus on the root causes (that would be hardcore Progressive politics, flawed and faked data, and incompetent computer models)
  12. Beware of the dominance of the private sector (this is more hatred of capitalism, along with a push to give Government a lot more power)
  13. Let citizens lead (rather than being about “practice what you preach”, it’s really more about agitation and protests)
  14. Invest in the technology that will deliver the goals (this yammers on about inequality, which is interesting, since the way the new technologies are being developed hurts the middle and lower classes)

So, there you have it. They can’t even get the numbering correctly. The thirteen in my headline comes from the Guardian headline.

Hillary Clinton To Supposedly Address Email Scandal

In other words, she’s going to give a speech that will briefly touch on the issue, take no questions, and fail to provide a truly adequate explanation

(Politico) Hillary Rodham Clinton is likely to hold a press conference in New York in the next several days to answer reporters questions about a controversy surrounding her use of a private email account at the State Department, according to three people close to the potential Democratic frontrunner.

The decision to address the issue comes amid mounting criticism of her use of a personal email account, which did not comply with State Department regulations issued in 2005 governing email used for official business. Reports in the New York Times and the Associated Press detailed how Clinton used a private server, housed in her suburban New York residence, to channel her emails, which are supposed to be maintained as part of a federal agency’s historic record.

“Supposed to”? No. That makes it sound like it is recommended, when it is, in fact, required by law. Just like for private companies, who can, and have, get in big trouble for not maintaining emails.

Of course, giving a speech, if she actually does that, doesn’t address that there are certainly a lot more pages of emails that she has failed to provide. There are huge gaps. Nor that she was using a personal address for government business, one which was not particularly secure. Nor the propriety of using a personal email for government business.

Obama told CBS in an interview Saturday that he’d learned of Clinton’s use of a private e-mail address and server “through news reports.” However, Earnest conceded Monday that Obama knew Clinton was communicating from a private e-mail account, but was unaware of how that mail was handled or that Clinton did not have an official “state.gov” account.

“Yes, the president was aware of her email address,” Earnest said. “He was not aware of the details of how that email address and that server had been set up or how Secretary Clinton and her team were planning to comply with the Federal Records Act.”

Might that information be important for her boss to know? Government investigators would surely find any private sector boss to be negligent if a direct report acted in this manner. Of course, Obama doesn’t seem to know very much as to what happens within his Executive Office. Nor care. Nor care to follow the same laws required of everyone else.

Oh Noes! “Republicans Are Beginning To Act Like Obama Isn’t Even President”

If only. Here’s the Washington Post’s Paul Waldman

It’s safe to say that no president in modern times has had his legitimacy questioned by the opposition party as much as Barack Obama.

It’s as if Waldman, and all the Democrats who believe that claptrap, forgot about the 8 years George W. Bush spent as POTUS.

But as his term in office enters its final phase, Republicans are embarking on an entirely new enterprise: They have decided that as long as he holds the office of the presidency, it’s no longer necessary to respect the office itself.

Oh, they (we) respect the office: we don’t respect the quasi-dictator inhabiting it.

Is that a bit hyperbolic? Maybe. But this news is nothing short of stunning:

A group of 47 Republican senators has written an open letterto Iran’s leaders warning them that any nuclear deal they sign with President Barack Obama’s administration won’t last after Obama leaves office. (snip)

It’s one thing to criticize the administration’s actions, or try to impede them through the legislative process. But to directly communicate with a foreign power in order to undermine ongoing negotiations? That is appalling. And just imagine what those same Republicans would have said if Democratic senators had tried such a thing when George W. Bush was president.

Ah, but they did. How many times did the Democrats look to undermine Bush when it came to Iraq, and even Afghanistan? How about Nancy Pelosi going to Syria? Democrats have a long history of undermining Republican presidents.

York goes on to write more on the subject.

https://twitter.com/WilliamTeach/status/575000667053514752

Perhaps the GOP wouldn’t need to do this, which has sent Team Obama and Democrats into a (typical) rage, had Obama not looked to give away the kitchen sink to Iran.

We’re Like Totally Getting a Taste Of What Climate Change Looks Like

And it looks cold and snowy with a hint of unhinged cult

(Central Maine) We had the first snow day at Colby College since the 1990s. I’ll take it — with a side of caution.

The recent snowstorms and Arctic-esque temperatures that have smothered the Northeast over the past few weeks are the latest in a long series of warnings Mother Nature has thrown us. Similar to when the professor hands out the essay questions the day before the exam, we are being given a taste of what the future of our climate may look like, if we continue to dance on the edge of disaster.

 photo facepalm.gif

There is a new normal for the global climate, a normal defined by unpredictable and drastic weather pattern changes. We can, however, prevent further, more severe climate change effects with stringent climate change policy that protects the Earth and its people, rather than the factories that dot landscapes across the country.

Obviously, the solutions are Big Government decrees that effect Other People, rather than adherents to the Cult Of Climastrology practicing what they preach.

EPA Chief Can’t Answer Whether Climate Models Correct Or Not

Poor Gina McCarthy, having her Constitution right to not be questioned over her religion violated

(Breitbart) At a Senate Environment and Public Works Committee hearing, Senator Jeff Sessions grilled EPA chief Gina McCarthy and left her unable to justify her money grab, showing that she could not explain whether climate change models were correct or not.

McCARTHY: I am happy to submit the full breadth of science that we have behind climate; we’ve submitted it on many occasions, we’ll do it again.

SESSIONS: The full breadth of science? I’d just like some numbers. Would you acknowledge that over the last eighteen years, that the increase in temperature has been very little and that it is well below, as a matter of fact, ninety percent below most of the environmental models that showed how fast temperature would increase?

McCARTHY: No, I would not agree with that, sir. A one-degree temperature is significant. I don’t know what you’re looking at.

SESSIONS: No, no, no, no. I am asking you, is it below the models, or above the models?

McCARTHY: I do not know what the models actually are predicting that you’re referring to. There are many models.

SESSIONS: The head of the environmental—

McCARTHY: And sometimes it’s going faster, and sometimes slightly slower than the model predicts, but on the whole it makes no difference to the validity and the robustness of climate science that is telling us that we are facing an absolute challenge that we must address both environmentally, economically from a national security perspective, and for EPA, from a public health perspective.

SESSIONS: All right. Carbon pollution is CO2, and that’s really not a pollutant; that’s a plant food, and it doesn’t harm anybody except that it might include temperature increases. Let me ask you one more time: Are you asserting, just give me this answer; if you take the average of the models predicting how fast the temperature would increase, is the temperature in fact increasing less than that or more than that?

McCARTHY: I cannot answer that question specifically.

SESSIONS: Mr. Chairman, I would just say, this is a stunning development, that the head of the Environmental Protection Agency, who should know more than anybody else in the world, who’s proposing hundreds of billions of dollars in costs to prevent this climate and temperature increases, doesn’t know whether their projections have been right or wrong.

In fact, the models have failed to the tune of 95%. And Sessions is exactly correct in that it is is stunning that Ms. McCarthy doesn’t have/know the answers to the questions as she is looking to spend lots and lots of taxpayer earned money. Because she was unable to answer many many questions, if you check the transcript. She was unable to competently discuss hurricane landfalls, atmospheric moisture, and drought conditions. But, she is rushing ahead to make sure that Everyone Else pays for her beliefs

(The Hill) Gina McCarthy is locked in a race against time to complete landmark climate change regulations before President Obama leaves office.

With just 22 months left in Obama’s presidency, the Environmental Protection Agency administrator and her team are burning the midnight oil to enshrine emissions regulations for power plants in federal law.

McCarthy says she’s “busier than [she’s] ever been” as the caretaker of what Obama hopes will be a legacy-defining achievement on climate change.

Obama and McCarthy will be gone and living the post-presidency high life while those in the middle and lower classes suffer the results.

Nevada Looks To Pass “Pop Tart Gun” Bill

This is an attempt to pass legislation that allows kids to be kids

(KOLO8) Members of the Assembly Committee on Education were treated to a snack at their afternoon hearing on AB 121: Pop-Tarts.

It was a reference to a case out of Maryland where a second-grader was suspended from school for chewing his Pop-Tart into the shape of a gun. This bill would help ensure something like that doesn’t happen here in Nevada.

AB 121 would prohibit schools from punishing students in grades K-8 for “simulating a firearm or dangerous weapon” or “wearing clothing or accessories that depict a firearm or dangerous weapon.”

“This bill is a common sense bill, it’s that simple,” Assemblyman Jim Wheeler said as he went through the proposed legislation. “It just returns common sense back to our school system.”

Sadly, there actually needs to be legislation that brings back common sense.

“This kind of reminds me of the debate the founding fathers had regarding the Bill of Rights,” Assemblyman Chris Edwards said. “Many of them thought they would never need a Bill of Rights because no government would ever violate things like freedom of speech. However, wisdom won out and they put in those precautions just to make sure those things wouldn’t happen to us. I think they were very wise to do so.”

Imagine what Government would do without the Constitution. They are already abusing it heavily. And one parent was Very Concerned

“If a child wears a t-shirt that says I support my right to keep and bear arms but it shows two stick figures and one is standing over the other with a gun, is that still okay? I think we’re opening ourselves up to a slippery slope.”

It’s not already a slippery slope to suspend young children for making a gun with their fingers and food? Florida and Texas have already passed similar legislation.

(RGJ) Such a restriction shouldn’t have to be spelled out for schools in state law, but it’s come to that, said Ron Dreher, lobbyist for the Washoe School Principals’ Association.

“We are living in a different world and, unfortunately, we have to codify it,” he said. “I guess we live in a ridiculous age.”

Yes. Yes we are.

Islamist Cleric Brings The Sexism Against TV Host, Tells Her To Shut Up

If you’re thinking “hey, is saying “shut up” to a woman really sexism? Or is it just rude?”, it gets much, much better. I had the same thought when I read the UK Telegraph headline on the home page (which was slightly different from in article headline) (video at link)

A female television presenter brought an interview with an extremist cleric to an abrupt end after he told her to “shut up” and said that he did not respect her.

Rima Karaki, an anchor on Lebanon’s Al-Jadeed TV, was interviewing the London-based Islamist Hani Al-Seba’i when the argument started.

The discussion was on the possibility of some Christians joining ISIS, and, much like Obama, Al-Seba’i want off on a tangent, talking about the history of Christianity in the Middle East. Karaki informed him time was limited, and they should focus on the discussion at hand, when

“Listen, don’t cut me off. I will answer as I please … what kind of behaviour is this?” Dr Al-Seba’i asked.

When Karaki reiterated the time constraints, Al-Seba’i lost his temper and told her to: “Shut up, so I can talk.”

Nothing unusual there, right?

“It’s beneath me to be interviewed by you, you are a woman who …” he continued, before his microphone was cut off.

To which she responded

“Either there is mutual respect, or the conversation is over,” Karaki said, as she terminated the interview.

Good for her! Of course, as one commenter at the Telegraph points out

“It’s beneath me to be interviewed by you, you are a woman who ..wears a scarf. You don’t respect yourself, why should I respect you ?”… Do you guys realise her scarfs litteraly means she is beneath him ?

Interesting point. It should also be noted that Al-Seba’i is an Egyptian who was give asylum in Britain, yet another extremist allowed to reside in the UK and practice his extremist view of Islam without consequence. One also has to wonder where the feminists are. They blew a gasket over a nerd, who landed a module on a comet, wearing a really ugly shirt, bringing him to tears and forcing an apology, that you know was not accepted.
