Poll: People Aren’t Buying Hillary’s Pneumonia Excuse

Hillary supporters haven’t been, for the most part, particularly concerned with Hillary Clinton’s health. They think it’s a big nothingburger, and, why can’t we talk about X (this is stage 6 of the 8 stages of Liberal discourse when they know they are busted)? Polling shows something different

(Daily Caller) Hillary Clinton’s pneumonia diagnosis, and her campaign’s subsequent handling, is hurting her already waning polls numbers.

According to the latest poll, conducted by YouGov in partnership with the Times of London, only 45 percent of American voters believe the Clinton campaign’s explanation for why she suffered a “medical episode” at Sunday’s 9/11 memorial service in New York.

Furthermore, 46 percent of voters don’t think Clinton has pneumonia at all and is suffering from a different, undisclosed illness, while nine percent said they didn’t know what to believe.

People not believing what Team Hillary has trotted out? Color me shocked!

The poll also found that, while 38 percent of surveyed voters thought Republican nominee Donald Trump was healthy enough for office, only nine percent thought the same of Clinton.

Think on that one. Only 9 percent think she’s healthy enough for office. Sadly, the Times of London poll is behind a firewall, so, we cannot get a breakdown of the metrics. But, even going loony Slate let us know a few days ago that health matters to voters

A recent Rasmussen poll conducted last week before Clinton’s early exit from the 9/11 memorial service, for example, found that 86 percent of likely voters said that a candidate’s health was important to their vote, compared with only 12 percent who said that it was not. Those figures were generally consistent across party lines, too: 89 percent of self-identified Republicans, 85 percent of Democrats, and 85 percent of independents described a candidate’s health as important. Pollsters who have asked a similar question in recent elections found similar results.

Of course, the poll also showed that Democrats didn’t care about Hillary’s health. How will her collapse affect Democrats? They probably won’t vote Trump, but, they might vote 3rd party or just not vote for president.

Will her health matter? We have a bit under two months to find out. If she doesn’t get out on the trail and appear healthy, if she looks sickly and/or low energy during the debates, if she’s caught on video having another collapse or coughing fit, well, all bets are off. Let’s end with a quote from Jimmy Kimmel

“Hillary Clinton was supposed to be in California today… but she had to cancel the trip because of illness,” Kimmel said. “You probably know Hillary was coughing a lot in public last week and then yesterday she was forced to leave a 9/11 memorial because she was feeling faint. Turns out on Friday Clinton’s doctor had diagnosed her with pneumonia but they kept it secret until this happened and they were forced to admit it. You know, these conspiracy theories about Hillary Clinton’s health would be a lot harder to believe if they didn’t actually come true.”

Yeah, there’s a bit more to it, in which he’s trying to protect Hillary. Stage 5.

Hillary will be returning to the campaign trail Thursday. Which means more private fundraisers are the homes of rich people Liberals hate, and small, intimate speeches for tiny Clinton crowds. They’ll probably take away all smartphones and video recorders.

Surprise: Warmist Calls For Fewer Children To Avoid Climate Crisis

Quite frankly, it would be nice if Warmists would have no children, which would make it harder for them to pass on their insanity to youth, hopefully starting with Travis N. Reider

Bioethicist: The climate crisis calls for fewer children

Earlier this summer, I found myself in the middle of a lively debate because of my work on climate change and the ethics of having children.

NPR correspondent Jennifer Ludden profiled some of my work in procreative ethics with an article entitled, “Should we be having kids in the age of climate change?,” which summarized my published views that we ought to consider adopting a “small family ethic” and even pursuing fertility reduction efforts in response to the threat from climate change. Although environmentalists for decades have worried about overpopulation for many good reasons, I suggest the fast-upcoming thresholds in climate change provide uniquely powerful reasons to consider taking real action to slow population growth.

Clearly, this idea struck a nerve: I was overwhelmed by the response in my personal email inbox as well as op-eds in other media outlets and over 70,000 shares on Facebook. I am gratified that so many people took the time to read and reflect on the piece.

Having read and digested that discussion, I want to continue it by responding to some of the most vocal criticisms of my own work, which includes research on “population engineering” – the intentional manipulation of human population size and structure – I’ve done with my colleagues, Jake Earl and Colin Hickey.

Of course, if we don’t population engineer, we are totally doomed, as the rest of the article notes. And, since this is science, we’re treated to

How bad will things get?

Some comments – those claiming climate change is a hoax, devised by those who wish to control the world’s resources – are not worth responding to. Since 97 percent of all relevant experts cannot convince climate change skeptics of the basic scientific facts, then nothing I say will change their minds.

First, consensus is not science. Second, it’s cute how he adds “relevant”. You can figure out the meaning of that one.

Fortunately, we are shown what an unhappy family from carbon pollution looks like

If I had Leftist Cult of Climastrology parents, I’d probably unhappy, as well.

NC GOP Spokesperson Hits NCAA Hard Over Relocating Championship Games

So, the NCAA, which had no problem having tournament and championship games in places like Houston, which has a law against transgender bathrooms, and other places which use the time honored method of having separate bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers for males and females, did this

Based on the NCAA’s commitment to fairness and inclusion, the Association will relocate all seven previously awarded championship events from North Carolina during the 2016-17 academic year. The NCAA Board of Governors made this decision because of the cumulative actions taken by the state concerning civil rights protections.

In its decision Monday, the Board of Governors emphasized that NCAA championships and events must promote an inclusive atmosphere for all college athletes, coaches, administrators and fans. Current North Carolina state laws make it challenging to guarantee that host communities can help deliver on that commitment if NCAA events remained in the state, the board said.

“Fairness is about more than the opportunity to participate in college sports, or even compete for championships,” said Mark Emmert, NCAA president. “We believe in providing a safe and respectful environment at our events and are committed to providing the best experience possible for college athletes, fans and everyone taking part in our championships.”

One of their complaints is over the gender confused in bathrooms. But, the yammering about “fairness and inclusion” is interesting, and let to this

(Daily Caller) In response, North Carolina GOP spokeswoman Kami Mueller released a defiant statement, obtained by local reporter Andrew Carter, arguing the NCAA’s position logically called for the abolition of all athletic distinctions between men and women.

“This is so absurd it’s almost comical,” Mueller said. “I genuinely look forward to the NCAA merging all men’s and women’s teams together as singular, unified, unisex teams. Under the NCAA’s logic, colleges should make cheerleaders and football players share bathrooms, showers and hotel rooms. This decision is an assault to female athletes across the nation. If you are unwilling to have women’s bathrooms and locker rooms, how do you have a women’s team?”

“I wish the NCAA was this concerned about the women who were raped at Baylor,” Mueller continued. “Perhaps the NCAA should stop with their political peacocking — and instead focus their energies on making sure our nation’s collegiate athletes are safe, both on and off the field.”

Andrew Carter, the reporter who released it, said he had to check to make sure it wasn’t a parody account, but, think on the NCAA release: does it not push to do exactly what Ms. Meuller is stating? How can you have inclusion if you aren’t allowing everyone to play in whatever sport they want and go in whatever bathroom, shower, and locker (BSL) room whenever they want regardless of sexual orientation?

On one hand, Leftists are screaming about this “rape culture” on college campuses (which are run mostly by Leftists and hotbeds of leftism, of course). On the other hand, they’re trying to force women to accept biological men in their BSLs.

It will be interesting to see where these events are held. Do they allow the gender confused in whatever BSL they want? Will male athletes be allowed in the women’s BSLs?

NY Times Goes Conspiracy Theorist, Wants Hillary To Release Medical Records

Remember when anyone questioning Hillary’s health and demanding her medical records was a conspiracy theorist? That anyone asking was bonkers? Welcome to the club, NY Times Editorial Board! They want Trump’s, as well

Full Disclosure on Candidates’ Health

As President Obama’s graying hair suggests, the American presidency is perhaps the most grueling and stressful political job there is. This year, both major party candidates for that job are past the nation’s customary retirement age. And while submitting health records is not a requirement for the job, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump would be doing American voters a great service by furnishing a much clearer picture of their physical health than the abbreviated and sunny reports provided so far.

What brings the health issue to mind, of course, is the video of a stumbling Mrs. Clinton being hustled away from the 9/11 memorial service in New York on Sunday. She reappeared some two hours later to say she felt great. Hours later, her doctor issued a statement saying Mrs. Clinton had been suffering from pneumonia — a diagnosis Mrs. Clinton had received two days earlier and which came as a surprise even to some members of her campaign team.

How cute that they just take her campaign’s word for the pneumonia, without asking any pesky questions. If it was Trump, would they do the same? Rhetorical question, obviously. As for “stumbling”

https://twitter.com/HalleyBorderCol/status/775035692363677697

That’s a bit more than stumbling. But, perhaps she did have pneumonia, since she was traveling around with her doctor, the woman standing behind her in the black dress. Otherwise, one might wonder why her doctor is there. And seems to be around a lot.

The Times goes on to note who little either candidate has released in regards to medical records. They’re correct for both. Trump’s release was a joke, but, then, he doesn’t seem low energy. He isn’t prone to long coughing fits going all the way back to January. He didn’t collapse in 75 degree “heat”. He doesn’t freeze on stage or have weird fits. He hasn’t fallen many times, including falls that injured himself. He hasn’t had aides write that he’s always in bed, and it’s tough to get him up. He doesn’t disappear from the campaign trail. He hasn’t had blood clots and broken his elbow, nor become concussed from fainting. He’s never said that he had memory issues (coming from the concussion).

Now Americans are deciding between Mr. Trump, who is 70, and Mrs. Clinton, who is 68. Whoever prevails will have to deal with round-the-clock demands, so it seems entirely relevant to inquire about their medical histories and current health.

On Monday, a spokesman for Mrs. Clinton said she would releaseadditional health information in coming days. For his part, Mr. Trump said he would make public “very, very specific” records, a remarkable promise coming from someone who has resolutely stonewalled on his tax returns. Should both candidates honor these pledges, and provide plenty of detail, the winners will be the voters.

What will we get? It should be interesting. And, I suppose we can now lump the NY Times in with Prison Planet and other conspiracy sites.

You Know What’s More Important Than Hillary’s Health? Climate Change!!!!!!

We have a woman who may or may not be in good health. And she has lied and obfuscated on it. Consider, they are blaming the pneumonia on allergies recently. Um, what of the history of having coughing fits all year long? Does she keep catching pneumonia? Has it been hanging around all year? I do hope, in all sincerity, that she is not that sickly, but, you look at what’s going on, and it is concerning. Even Britt Hume has concerns in light of photos like

That second one was knew to me. But, hey, ‘climate change’!

Eight things that are more important than Hillary’s pneumonia

….
Donald Trump’s attitude to climate change

The Republican candidate has said he would withdraw from the Paris deal on cutting emissions, and in 2014 referred to the scientific consensus on global warming as “bullshit”, stating that “our planet is freezing”. The 10 hottest years on record have all occured since 1998. (WT – Misspelling on writer, not me)

And, yes, there are 7 more unhinged bits of moonbat droppings.

Must Young Girls Be Exposed To Deviants For “Social Justice”?

The Daily Signal’s James Gottry wonders why 18 girls are forced into a single stall bathroom for “liberty”

In recent years, a common refrain accompanying nearly every demand for newly invented “rights” has been: “It doesn’t affect you, so you can’t be against it.”

This claim—whether false or true, subjective or objective—has been played as the ultimate trump card.

I’ve long held the Classical Liberal position that if it doesn’t cause you actual harm, and being annoyed, angry, upset aren’t really harm, why do you care? But….

On Wednesday, Alliance Defending Freedom filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of high school students and parents, asking the court to strike down a Minnesota school district policy that empowers a male student to enter the girls’ locker room and disrobe.

Not surprisingly, many girls have been distressed by the actions of the male student, which include twerking, grinding, and other sexually explicit actions. The response of the district and other authorities to the concerns has been a collective yawn. (snip)

The pretense that such demands don’t affect the lives of others now has been abandoned, replaced by two options: (1) get over it and get in line; or (2) be pushed to the margins of society, losing your reputation—and possibly your career—in the process.

In version 2.0 of the New Regime, even if you can point to a direct, immediate, and significant intrusion on your life, your opinion is irrelevant (and perhaps bigoted) when compared to “social progress.”

Let’s get back to what brought this on. From the first link

According to the complaint, a transgender student in Duluth, Minnesota, was allowed to enter the girls’ locker room and would dance “in a sexually explicit manner—‘twerking,’ ‘grinding,’ and dancing like he was on a ‘stripper pole’ to songs with explicit lyrics, including ‘Milkshake’ by Kelis.”

“On another occasion,” the complaint noted, “a female student saw the male student lift his dress to reveal his underwear while ‘grinding’ to the music.”

From the second link

The school told girls who felt uncomfortable they should consider using a secondary locker room in the basement of the elementary school.

“Plaintiff B and nearly half the junior varsity squad changed in the secondary locker room in hope that their privacy would not be violated,” the lawsuit states.

Midway through the season, Plaintiff A was told she could use a vacant boys’ basketball locker room – for privacy. But it wasn’t long before the transgender student showed up in that locker room.

“One on such occasion, Student X walked into the boys’ basketball locker room while Girl Plaintiff A was in her underwear and removed his pants while he was near her and other girls who were also changing,” the lawsuit states. “This incident deeply upset Girl Plaintiff A. It signaled to her that there was no place in the school where she could preserve her privacy under the new policy.”

The girls have had this forced on them, and the school, rather than standing up for their liberty and privacy, took the side of the deluded boy who thinks he’s a girl. See, it’s apparently not OK to tell the gender confused to use a single stall bathroom, locker room, or changing room, because that’s mean and bigoted and stuff. But, it’s OK to force the actual biological girls out of their private domains into other rooms. If a non-gender confused boy had pulled these stunts, he would have probably been arrested. At a minimum, thrown out of that school. Leftists would be shaming him as a rapist and sexual predator, and they wouldn’t be that far off, now, would they?

This is where the rubber meets the road. People’s privacy rights are being delegitimatized for this push to allow the gender confused (and those pretending to be gender confused) to go wherever they want. If some feel that they are actually gender confused, fine. Accept an accommodation. That’s not what they want, nor what their enablers want. They want to force this deviancy on others, violating their rights.

Are You Angry? Kids Getting Bad Grades? It’s Due To Climate Change Or Something

The Cult of Climastrology is up to its normal schtick

Blame Global Warming for Your Bad Attitude
Climate change is making us angry. It may also cause more assaults, murders, and even poor math grades for your kids.

It doesn’t take a PhD to see that climate affects our lives. Anyone who lives far enough from the equator can tell just by opening the closet.

It takes a lot of scientists, however, to reveal how climate affects us—particularly as our climate changes. Sure, there’s prolonged heat and drought in some places, persistent floods and storms in others—all the ways we’ve learned to see global warming (though some still reject the science). But an exhaustive review of almost 200 different studies reveals not only the extent of those predictable changes but also how we humans are reacting to climatic wallops. The results are troubling.

Troubling!

Richard Moss, senior scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory’s Joint Global Change Research Institute, calls the study essential to making clear the everyday price of climate change. Moss, who led the climate division of the U.S. Global Change Research Program and contributes to the National Climate Assessment, said “it’s always been a challenge in some of our national conversations.”

Perhaps if Warmists stopped having national conversations and started practicing what they preach, people might believe them enough to care.

Thinkers at least as old as Aristotle asked how climates shape societies, the authors of the new analysis note. The trouble with answering that question in a thorough manner is that scientists would have to measure pretty much everything all the time. This new super study, published Thursday in the journal Science, shows that scientists have become extremely clever at drawing conclusions by combining data they have with novel statistical approaches.

In other words, they’ve become extremely clever at making sh*t up to go with their preconceived notions. The blame a reduction in corn production (btw, corn is at an all time high) on Hotcoldwetdry. They blame a reduction in births on it. They say more storms, in the future, of course, will lead to more infant mortality. That people secretly hate heat

It’s easy to imagine that warmer weather might make people happier. After all, summer brings beaches and bikes, and hiking and barbecues.

That may not be the case, according to a 2014 paper [pdf] that analyzed a billion Twitter posts and scored them across a happiness index. Above 70 degrees Fahrenheit or so, the mood of Twitter users changed, evidenced in part by an uptick in profanity. The difference in user happiness scores during 60F to 70F weather and 80F to 90F weather was similar to the difference in people’s moods on Sundays vs. Mondays.

So, obviously, they blame this all on anthropogenic climate change. The same with violence, which tends to increase when it gets warmer. Because there can’t be any other reason than someone driving a fossil fueled vehicle. And blame a decline in math scores as it gets warmer. These people are nuts.

In The Bag Journalists Getting Concerned Over Hillary’s Health

I’m sure you’ve heard the news and seen the video of Hillary collapsing. Many leftists were Very Upset by the use of the word “faint”, so, let’s say she collapsed. We were told that she felt unwell, that she was overheated (despite not being a particularly warm day), and that she had pneumonia. Which should probably make all her big moneyed donors happy, being that she attended fundraisers Friday. What’s the over/under on her being contagious?

We’re told that she wobbled a bit. Does this look like wobbling?

https://twitter.com/NeilTurner_/status/774999066690351104

The reverse angle is even worse. We’ve been told that she was thrown in the vehicle like a sack of meat. Thankfully, there were citizens with video, because the press wasn’t even told she was bolting. And, while there are some serious hot takes by the leftist media, and some major ass covering for Clinton by some in the media, others are getting a bit concerned. Such as Chris Cillizza of the Washington Post

Hillary Clinton’s health just became a real issue in the presidential campaign

Hillary Clinton falling ill Sunday morning at a memorial service on the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks will catapult questions about her health from the ranks of conservative conspiracy theory to perhaps the central debate in the presidential race over the coming days.

“Secretary Clinton attended the September 11th Commemoration Ceremony for just an hour and thirty minutes this morning to pay her respects and greet some of the families of the fallen,” spokesman Nick Merrill said. “During the ceremony, she felt overheated, so departed to go to her daughter’s apartment and is feeling much better.”

What that statement leaves out is that a) it came 90 minutes after Clinton left the ceremony b) reporters — or even a reporter — were not allowed to follow her and c) the temperature in New York City at the time of Clinton’s overheating was in the low 80s. (A heat wave over the eastern United States broke last night/this morning.) (snip)

Clinton may well be totally fine — and I certainly hope she is. But we are 58 days away from choosing the person who will lead the country for the next four years, and she is one of the two candidates with a real chance of winning. Taking the Clinton team’s word for it on her health — in light of the episode on Sunday morning — is no  longer enough. Reasonable people can — and will —  have real questions about her health.

There’s quite a bit more in this admission from Cillizza, which gets to the very heart of the issue: Hillary doesn’t seem healthy. She may be healthy, and it could all be just anecdotal. Optics matter. Consider that McCain sure appeared healthy in 2008, yet, the press was musing and “just wondering” and demanding more and more information on his health. Heck, they wanted Palin’s health records in full, too boot.

The LA Times’ in the bag Melissa Batchelor Warnke is also concerned

Hillary Clinton’s worrisome wobble

….

Worse, Clinton’s shaky early departure from a Sept. 11 commemoration ceremony in New York reinforced ugly speculation by Trump’s team that she is suffering from some kind of debilitating illness, possibly linked to the concussion she suffered late in her tenure as secretary of State. The clean bill of health she’d received from her physician this year did nothing to quiet those rumors.

Clinton didn’t faint at Sunday morning’s event, exactly; the video I saw showed her wobbling into her van, shifting awkwardly from foot to foot. By any measure, she did not look well. Having experienced fainting spells for the last year that have turned out to be neither meaningful, preventable nor attributable to any particular cause, I’ve learned how confusing such spells can be. “You might drink more water,” doctors have yawned in my direction. Still, I’m not running for president.

She would have face-planted if people hadn’t held her up. Not a wobble. She collapsed Most of the rest is just a whine about Trump, because, despite early protestations from Ms. Warnke, she’s in the bag. Even she understands that optics matter. And, in today’s social media driven world, people will see those videos. They’ll see the coughing. They won’t take the press’ word that Hillary is fine. They’ll want proof. And, if they don’t get it, if the issue festers, we’ll get things like this

Hillary is already extremely untrusted. When they take 90 minutes to come out with an excuse, even if real, speculation will run rampant. And we’ll get things like this, but Dilbert creator Scott Adams, who says the race for president is (probably) over

You probably wonder if the “overheated” explanation is true – and a non-issue as reported – or an indication of a larger medical condition. I’m blogging to tell you it doesn’t matter. The result is the same.

Here’s why.

If humans were rational creatures, the time and place of Clinton’s “overheating” wouldn’t matter at all. But when it comes to American psychology, there is no more powerful symbol of terrorism and fear than 9-11 . When a would-be Commander-in-Chief withers – literally – in front of our most emotional reminder of an attack on the homeland, we feel unsafe. And safety is our first priority.

Hillary Clinton just became unelectable.

That’s surely a bit over the top, but, what if she has more incidents? People aren’t going to forget this. What if she has a coughing fit during a debate, or some incident? Disappears for a bit? Think that won’t matter?
