We’re Saved: Global Experts Take Long Fossil Fueled Trips To Save Us From ‘Climate Change’ (scam)

Might this bit of hypocrisy be a reason why 25+ years of spreading awareness hasn’t worked?

Global experts gather in Christchurch to tackle climate change

Some of the world’s brightest minds are gathering in Christchurch this week to discuss how best to tackle the ever-pressing issue of climate change.

The city will host 120 scientists from 59 countries as they examine how to manage some of the thorniest problems caused by our rapidly-changing environment.

As members of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) – a global coalition of scientists and academics – they will spend the next five days drafting a report that will inform and influence how governments deal with the problem in the decades ahead.

And, of course, one of the things they’ll complain about is the use of fossil fuels by Other People, and the need to make those other people reduce their use of fossil fuels.

Artists have also created a street mural on the topic, part of which includes green-themed poems, one by 17-year-old Burnside High student Samantha Jory-Smart.

Meanwhile, did you remember that last night was Earth Hour, when Warmists spend 1/8760th of the year pretending they’re doing something

(ABC News) Hundreds of landmarks worldwide turned out their lights for one hour on Saturday night, starting at 30 minutes past 8 p.m., in order to bring attention to the issue of climate change. The symbolic shutdown is organized every year by the World Wildlife Fund and called the Earth Hour. It bills the event as the “world’s largest grassroots movement for the environment.”

Well, that’ll do it, eh!

Astroturfed Youngsters March For Doing Something On Guns, Really Don’t Say What

Obviously, there were marches and stuff across the nation and even in other countries, all to take some sort of action, action that they really don’t want to discuss. They just want to screech that Congress should do something, as we see across all sorts of articles, which are light on policy proposals and long on feelings

‘Never again!’ Students demand action against gun violence in nation’s capital

Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators gathered in the nation’s capital and cities across the country Saturday to demand action against gun violence, vividly displaying the strength of the political movement led by survivors of a school massacre in Parkland, Fla.

Organized by students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where a gunman killed 17 last month, the March for Our Lives showcased impassioned teens calling on Congress to enact stricter gun-control laws to end the nation’s two-decade stretch of campus shootings.

Hundreds of “sibling protests” took place across the world, from New York City — where demonstrators spread across 20 blocks — to Jonesboro, Ark., a small city marking the 20th anniversary of a middle-school shooting that left four students and a teacher dead. Gun-rights advocates mounted counterprotests in Salt Lake City, Boise and Valparaiso, Ind., where one sign read “All Amendments Matter.”

Although the D.C. march was funded by Oprah Winfrey, George and Amal Clooney, and other celebrities, Stoneman Douglas High students have been its faces. Their unequivocal message to legislators: Ignoring the toll of school shootings and everyday gun violence will no longer be tolerated.

“To the leaders, skeptics and cynics who told us to sit down, stay silent and wait your turn: Welcome to the revolution,” Cameron Kasky, a Stoneman Douglas student, said to a crowd that packed at least 10 blocks of Pennsylvania Avenue. “Either represent the people or get out. Stand for us or beware. The voters are coming.”

And if you read this article, or ones at other news outlets, you won’t find actual policy proposals. How is Congress supposed to read your minds? What if they Take Action, but it’s not the action you want? It is cute how some are using their 1st Amendment rights (as pushed by adult gun grabber groups) to take away the 2nd Amendment Rights of citizens, the latter which helps protect the former. Oh, and while

Because many of the demonstrators were children, authorities in the nation’s capital said they took extra security precautions. By day’s end, police had reported no violent altercations or other problems, despite a small contingent of counterprotesters decrying efforts to toughen gun laws.

That’s right, their anti-2nd Amendment rally was protected by all sort of armed security.

Emma González, 18, took the stage in a drab olive coat and torn jeans, speaking of the “long, tearful, chaotic hours in scorching afternoon sun” as students waited outside Stoneman Douglas High on the day of the shooting.

With a flinty stare, tears streaming down her face, González stood silent on the rally’s main stage for nearly four minutes — evoking the time it took Parkland shooter Nikolas Cruz to carry out his attack. The crowd began chanting, “Never again.”

Nothing says “listen to me” like dressing like a hobo. Her silence was a great reminder of the failure of the deputy at the school. And the failure of the Sheriff’s department, local police, FBI, school system, and others pre-shooting.

This story, like most, avoids mentioning policy proposals, because those speaking didn’t really offer more than platitudes of “never again” and stuff. It seems they all want to give up their ability to defend themselves, making themselves what is referred to as “victims.”

(Reason) “Guns are for the police and the government,” a 13-year-old girl confidently assured me.

Awesome. We should totally listen to the wise wisdom of a worldly 13 year old, one who wants to become a Victim.

Here’s a dare: try and repeal the 2nd Amendment. Go for it. Let’s see how you fare.

Hooray: Warmists Have Now Managed To Link ‘Climate Change’ (scam) And Opioid Crisis

It was only a matter of time that the Cult of Climastrology would find a way to bring the opioid crisis under the banner of Hotcoldwetdry, just like the do with pretty much everything (next week there will be lots of missives about Easter and AGW)

Climate Change Could Make The Opioid Crisis Worse

America’s opioid epidemic has dominated the news media in recent years, as drug overdose deaths have escalated, decimating lives and families. And while climate change may not be top of mind in discussions about how to effectively deal with this crisis, it’s a factor that shouldn’t be ignored. Global warming spawns extreme weather, which begets destruction and despair, a dangerous scenario for people looking for a way to numb their emotional pain.

In 2016, more than 63,600 Americans died from drug overdoses, triple the 1999 rate. The overprescribing of opioid painkillers largely is driving this spike in deaths. But experts suggest that other things also are at work — including the effects of climate change.

Scientists who have been studying opioid deaths across the country believe that socioeconomic factors and natural disasters should become part of any national conversation about how to tackle America’s wave of opioid deaths. In recent years, global warming has fueled a growing number of turbulent weather events that have taken a grim toll on the human psyche.

“It is reasonable to expect that damage and destruction cause emotional and mental health problems and lead to drug abuse, both new and existing users,” said Stephan Goetz, professor of agricultural and regional economics at Pennsylvania State University. “There are long-lasting effects of such calamities, and they do not tend to diminish.”

Because weather never happened before. And this is all your fault for driving a fossil fueled vehicle and refusing to grow your own vegetables and go vegan. Just because the people who push this schlock refuse to do anything in their own lives is immaterial. Or something.

The researchers used disasters identified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to figure out the effects of such natural disasters as hurricanes, droughts and floods. “If climatologists’ warnings are correct, a changing climate could produce more extreme weather patterns, which could then have an effect on opioid overdoses and deaths,” Goetz said.

Could might maybe we feel. It’s all anti-science scaremongering.

Trump Institutes Ban On Most Gender Confused In The Military

Reading all the different stories, it appears that what Team Trump is attempting to do is make sure that those who want to use the military as a way to get free medical treatment and even sex reassignment surgery, along with those with serious medical issues (who are denied under Pentagon rules to start with for all citizens), are not allowed to serve in the military

(Politico) President Donald Trump on Friday issued orders to ban transgender troops who require surgery or significant medical treatment from serving in the military except in select cases — following through on a controversial pledge last year that has been under review by the Pentagon and is being fought out in the courts.

The memorandum, which drew swift condemnation from gender rights groups, states that while the secretary of defense and other executive branch officials will have some latitude in implementing the policy, “persons with a history or diagnosis of gender dysphoria — including individuals who the policies state may require substantial medical treatment, including medications and surgery — are disqualified from military service except under limited circumstances.” (snip)

“The experts’ study sets forth a policy to enhance our military’s readiness, lethality, and effectiveness,” it continued, adding that officials “concluded that the accession or retention of individuals with a history or diagnosis of gender dysphoria — those who may require substantial medical treatment, including through medical drugs or surgery — presents considerable risk to military effectiveness and lethality.”

“This new policy,” the White House statement added, “will enable the military to apply well-established mental and physical health standards — including those regarding the use of medical drugs — equally to all individuals who want to join and fight for the best military force the world has ever seen.”

Getting through all the hoopla and fearmongering, the military doesn’t allow other citizens to join if they have serious medical and/or mental health issues to start. They wouldn’t let you join if you have an issue which would require surgery to fix, nor if you have a mental health issue which would make it hard for you to do the job or put the lives of other troops in danger. This is just codifying it for the gender confused.

LGBT advocates who have sought to head off such a move in the courts swiftly slammed the decision, calling it “appalling, reckless and unpatriotic.”

“Donald Trump and Mike Pence are literally wreaking havoc on the lives of our military families,” said Ashley Broadway-Mack, president of the American Military Partner Association. “This unconscionable attack on our military families cannot stand — we refuse to allow it.”

We keep being told that TGs amount to .02% of the population. What’s the big deal? You’re entitled to your views and your lunacy, but the rest of us are not required to participate.

(Breitbart) The Pentagon’s rejection of the transgender ideology pushed by Obama is a huge win for the feminist and conservative groups who want to preserve the legal and civic distinctions between the two equal, different and complementary male and female biological sexes.

The rejection of Obama’s policy prompted emotional protests from progressives who wish to outlaw and stigmatize the distinctions between women and men, and between girls and boys. Rep. Nancy Pelosi, the House’s minority leader, described the revived policy as a “hateful” insult to “our brave transgender members of the military who serve with honor & dignity.”

In their immediate response, progressive advocates tried to smear Trump’s defense of sexual distinctions as “bigotry.” They did not try to make any substantial arguments why Americans should agree to the transgender demand that people can change their legal sex by simply declaring themselves to be members of the other sex.

Of course they don’t. What argument is there? If someone has a mental illness, we should be offering treatment, not condoning it. Democrats condone this particular one. They never really give a rational, cogent, adult reason for it. Just unhinged feelings based rants.

The military is here to defend the nation, not coddle people with mental issues and provide free surgery.

Washington Post: Trump Is Scaremongering On Sanctuary Cities Or Something

The one thing that is never explained by Liberal supporters of illegal aliens and sanctuary jurisdictions is “why?” Why are they so hell bent on protecting people who are in our nation illegally? What they do know, in this day, is that Trump is a big meanie for daring to want states, cities, and counties to follow the law, as we see the Washington Post Editorial Board

Trump convenes a festival of fear-mongering on sanctuary cities

tHE SPREAD of so-called sanctuary cities raises fair questions about how local law enforcement can balance collaboration with federal deportation officials, on the one hand, with maintaining trust with immigrant communities, on the other. Those questions were absent, however, when President Trump convened a roundtable on the issue the other day — a festival of scare-mongering, factual distortion and rhetorical overkill that did nothing to elucidate a tricky subject.

Why balance? Law enforcement has nor reason to maintain trust with people who are here illegally. They need to arrest them.

To hear the president tell it — along with a like-minded group of almost uniformly Republican officials, politicians and law enforcement — sanctuary cities are intent on unleashing a crime wave on America. They are doing so, Mr. Trump and his claque asserted, by safeguarding murderers, rapists and other bloodthirsty felons on what amounts to a virtual underground railroad traversed by illegal immigrants between local jails and vulnerable communities.

As the WPEB ramps the Trump Derangement Syndrome up to 10 (the initial story doesn’t support their unhinged views on the roundtable), they forget that sanctuary jurisdictions are, in fact, protecting rapists, murderers, arsonist, burglars, child sex predators, and other serious criminals who are also unlawfully present in the U.S.

“We have gang members; we have predators, rapists, killers,” said the president. His assessment of sanctuary cities was seconded by a group that included Attorney General Jeff Sessions (“shocking,” “radical”); Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Tex.) (“they have blood on their hands”); Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge (“liberal cabals” fomenting “unconstitutional chaos”); and Sen. Patrick J. Toomey (R-Pa.) (“breed of madness”).

What hogwash.

Kate Steinle and all the others who have been harmed by illegal aliens are unavailable for comment.

The fact is that in virtually every so-called sanctuary jurisdiction, local officials continue to cooperate with federal deportation agents when it comes to handing over most dangerous and repeat offenders when their sentences are done; they do not do so in the case of minor offenders. Even in California — which, having recently enacted one of the nation’s most sweeping sanctuary laws, came in for special abuse at Mr. Trump’s event — local law enforcement is authorized to turn over unauthorized immigrants who have committed any of about 30 serious crimes to agents of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. And they can share information with ICE officials on inmates who have been convicted of hundreds more serious misdemeanors and felonies.

The fact that some might cooperate here and there is immaterial: if they are protecting any illegal alien they are in violation of federal law. It matters not at all that they’ve committed minor offenses. They’re unlawfully present. Democrats are protecting them. And it’s high time that the DOJ start charging those who protect illegal aliens with violations of federal law.

The event dovetailed with Mr. Trump’s ongoing crusade to use cherry-picked anecdotes to convince Americans that illegal immigrants pose a dire threat to law and order. Numerous studies have shown that immigrants, including undocumented immigrants, generally commit crimes at a lower rate than native-born Americans. The fact that those statistics clash with the president’s agenda doesn’t make them any less true.

Are we supposed to take comfort in that supposed fact? It’s a double whammy. Illegally present and a criminal. Should we be accepting of people who are here illegally and commit crimes, often against Americans? No.

We’re Saved: Taylor Swift Totally Backs March For Our Lives, Promises To Give Up Her Own Security

(Daily Caller) Taylor Swift showed her support for the “March For Our Lives” gun control protest Saturday with a financial donation and praise for the Parkland students.

“No one should have to go to school in fear of gun violence. Or to a nightclub. Or to a concert. Or to a movie theater. Or to their place of worship,” the 28-year-old singer captioned her Friday post on Instagram. She included a picture promoting the march that was started in response to the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that left 17 people dead.

Interestingly, all of those places have been attacked by Islamists. Why are none of these celebs calling for Islamist control? Especially when these same celebs typically have their own armed protection?

“I’ve made a donation to show my support for the students, for the March For Our Lives campaign, for everyone affected by these tragedies, and to support gun reform,” she added. “I’m so moved by the Parkland High School students, faculty, by all families and friends of victims who have spoken out, trying to prevent this from happening again.”

Oh, goody, she made a donation. Give up your own armed security, Taylor.
