Labour Wants UK Powered By Unicorns And Fairies By 2030

It’s a shame that none of the MPs in the other parties stand up and say “when will you make your own home to be powered by “green” energy?”

Labour wants green energy to power most UK homes by 2030

Almost all of Britain’s homes and businesses would be powered by wind, solar and nuclear power by 2030, under bold new green energy plans being outlined by Labour.

Rebecca Long-Bailey, the shadow business secretary, will declare on Tuesday that the party is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions to zero by the middle of the century. The UK’s current goal is an 80% cut by 2050.

Such a move would put the UK ahead of the EU and signal that it intends to be a strong international climate leader post-Brexit.

It would also leapfrog Labour ahead of the Conservatives on climate-change action. The government is shortly expected to instruct its climate advisers to explore what a tougher global-warming goal means for the UK’s domestic carbon targets but has not yet pledged to hit zero emissions.

Now, if they were really pushing nuclear, it might be achievable. But, you know that they will also push to stop nuclear energy, especially as their hardcore enviroweenie base screeches to stop it.

Meanwhile

UK weather forecast: Winter 2018 to be COLDEST for 10 YEARS with months of HEAVY SNOW

James Madden, forecaster for Exacta Weather, said snow and freezing temperatures will hit in November until at least January – and potentially longer.

Mr Madden warned: “November is looking like a mixed bag of weather this year and there are signs that amidst stormy weather will be the first proper snowfall, temperatures for the month are expected to possibly be below average.

Should make the Warmists only use solar and wind for their energy.

The blog of the day is GeeeZ, with a post wondering how an investigation with no witnesses or proof goes forward.

BTW, something was going a little hinky with SSL (that’s where the site comes up as https instead of http, secure hosting) in Chrome and IE. No matter what you type, it’s supposed to forward to https://www.thepiratescove.us. It worked in Firefox, but, not others. Senator Chris Coons (D) Is Rather Shaky On This Whole American Justice System Thing

Much like Kamala Harris (who was the DA of the People’s Republik Of California) and so many other Democrats (and, tons of politicians in both parties), Senator Chris Coons of Delaware is a lawyer. Also like Kamala Harris and tons of Democrats, he doesn’t seem to understand the Constitution (via Twitchy)

https://twitter.com/KMCRadio/status/1044510303696953347

Is it even necessary to quote the Bill of Rights and the concept of the prosecution/accuser having to prove their case, that the defendant is innocent till proven guilty? He went to the same law school as Brett Kavanaugh, but, apparently, he snoozed through some classes. Perhaps the Delaware Constitution Section 7?

Section 7. In all criminal prosecutions, the accused hath a right to be heard by himself or herself and his or her counsel, to be plainly and fully informed of the nature and cause of the accusation against him or her, to meet the witnesses in their examination face to face, to have compulsory process in due time, on application by himself or herself, his or her friends or counsel, for obtaining witnesses in his or her favor, and a speedy and public trial by an impartial jury; he or she shall not be compelled to give evidence against himself or herself, nor shall he or she be deprived of life, liberty or property, unless by the judgment of his or her peers or by the law of the land.

Meh.

NYC Goes Green For Climate Week Or Something

By “green”, they don’t mean anything so pedestrian as giving up their own use of fossil fuels or anything

NYC GOES GREEN AS GLOBAL POLITICAL LEADERS OPEN 10th CLIMATE WEEK NYC 2018

At the Opening Ceremony of Climate Week NYC today, global political leaders will assemble to drive forward momentum on climate action. Climate Week NYC, run by The Climate Group in coordination with the United Nations and the City of New York, and taking place annually during the UN General Assembly, is now in its 10th year.

During the event, California Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr., will invite governments to amplify the urgent need for climate action, following the ‘Step Up’ climate action message from the Global Climate Action Summit earlier this month.

Global leaders including the Rt Hon Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of New Zealand; President Hilda C. Heine of the Marshall Islands; President Martín Vizcarra of Peru; and President Jovenel Moïse of the Republic of Haiti, will all headline the event.

I’m seeing lots and lots of long fossil fueled flights, and you can bet these folks aren’t flying anything but a fancy private jet. Then all the limos. Fancy foods brought in from all over the U.S. and the world. Premium residences/hotel rooms for the duration.

California Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr, said: “Ten days ago we closed the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco with strong new commitments and this week we carry that momentum across the country to Climate Week NYC. The path away from fossil fuels is daunting but California and like-minded partners will press on.”

Huh.

Stephen Badger, Chairman, Mars said: “In order to tackle climate change, we need a fundamental transformation in the way business works, from rethinking supply chains to going ‘all in’ on renewables. It’s time for business to step up with what is necessary to do our part to prevent climate disaster.”

Double huh. Kinda sounds like all the “end capitalism” talk. Anyhow, what do they mean for “green”

The Empire State Building, 1 World Trade Center, and New York City Hall, among others, are lit up green for Climate Week NYC

Hooray, we’re saved!

Kavanaugh Accuser’s Lawyer Sets Stage For Withdrawal From Testifying

There’s a notion in politics that the process is the punishment. Such as the Russia Russia Russia probe, for which there has been zero evidence of actual collusion, just unrelated process crimes. In this case, Kavanaugh was accused of being mean 36 years ago or so, since Dr. Ford is rather short on details, the Democrats immediately jump in….well, immediately being when Diane Feinstein mentions the letter at a conveniently political time almost two months after receiving it….with “we believe her!!!” and the compliant media followed right along with the allegations, attempting to slur Kavanaugh’s name. Kavanaugh himself said he wants the process to be fair, rather than guilt by accusation (Democrats should remember the old saying about what comes around goes around)

Ford’s lawyer: Hearing doesn’t appear to be designed for ‘fair’, ‘respectful’ treatment

A lawyer for Christina Blasey Ford—the woman accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault—raised concerns on Monday about the setup for a public hearing where Ford will testify later this week.

Michael R. Bromwich, a lawyer for Ford, said in a letter to Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, that the plan for Thursday’s public hearing “does not appear designed to provide Dr. Blasey Ford with fair and respectful treatment.”

The letter casts some doubt on the deal Ford’s team made with Senate Judiciary leaders to appear at a hearing on Thursday.

Bromwich in the letter pointed to the hiring of “an unnamed ‘experienced sex crimes prosecutor,'” warning it could help turn the Judiciary Committee hearing into a “circus.”

“[It] is contrary to the Majority’s repeated emphasis on the need for the Senate and this Committee’s members to fulfill their constitutional obligations. It is also inconsistent with your stated wish to avoid a “circus,” as well as Dr. Blasey Ford’s repeated requests through counsel that senators conduct the questioning,” Bromwich wrote.

“This is not a criminal trial for which the involvement of an experienced sex crimes prosecutor would be appropriate. Neither Dr. Blasey Ford nor Judge Kavanaugh is on trial. The goal should be to develop the relevant facts, not try a case,” he continued.

This is a cute reasoning that is a stage setter for her pulling out of testifying on Thursday, which would be on the record. At this point, she is the only one who hasn’t given a sworn statement, either written or oral. The burden of evidence lies with Dr. Ford.

https://twitter.com/NathanWurtzel/status/1044388659674468352

Margot Cleveland tweeted “Who had “Ford will never testify” in the pool?”

https://twitter.com/WilliamTeach/status/1043840021642530816

And from Sunday

I’m going to make a prediction: come Wednesday, her lawyer will release a “statement from Dr. Ford”, which will say something to the effect of “Dr. Ford is a victim, and has been doubly victimized through this rushed process. She feels that she will not be treated fairly and will not be able to obtain justice, so, knowing that the whole process is tainted, she will not testify, and she will drop the matter a second time, leaving Republicans to deal with their shame”, at which point all sorts of Democrats will demagogue and wear Handmaid costumes. Which will be interesting for ones like Cory Booker and Chuck Schumer. That’s the way these kinds of things go. Ford cannot prove her accusation, she has no evidence, none of the people at the reported party back her, so, now it’s time to give it up in a way that still smears Kavanaugh.

I have 5:23pm in the poll as to the specific time we hear she’s pulling out. Because the process is the punishment. Democrats will claim that all rulings by Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court will be tainted. Because this is the way they operate.

Innocent Man: Brett Kavanaugh Refuses To Back Down And Withdraw

Say, Where Should You Move To Be Safe From ‘Climate Change’?

Obvioiusly, in recent years the Cult of Climastrology has been yammering on about “climate refugees.” Now, a big push is to attempt to scare people by telling them they will need to move to escape from the worst effects of a whopping 1.5F increase in global temperatures since 1850

Where should you move to save yourself from climate change?

Climate change is fueling heatwaves, hurricanes and floods, gradually making certain places in the US challenging, if not outright miserable, to live in.

Scientists, and some members of the public, are starting to question where in the US will remain comfortable to call home.

The answer, broadly speaking, is north and maybe west. Florida has seen a population boom in recent decades but the southern portion of the state is on course to be submerged by rising seas. The Gulf coast will get supercharged hurricanes, while the south-west and south-east US will be baked by increasingly hostile heat.

“Areas towards the north and away from the ocean and that central corridor where you get tornadoes probably look best,” said Vivek Shandas, an expert on climate change’s impact on cities at Portland State University. Shandas recommends looking to live in a “band roughly above the 42nd parallel” – a line of latitude that divides New York and Pennsylvania and forms the southern borders of Oregon and Idaho.

Places close to a reliable source of water without being flood-prone as the seas rise are attractive, such as areas near the Great Lakes and the Pacific north-west. “Seattle doesn’t break 90F that often so it’ll be nothing like Phoenix in terms of tolerability of heat,” said Shandas. “Places like Portland, Oregon, and Boise, Idaho, will be relatively safeguarded, apart from a bit of wildfire smoke.”

There will be bastions elsewhere. “Cincinnati, for example, is surprisingly good,” said Shandas. “It’s close to the Great Lakes, away from hurricanes, away from the eastern seaboard. It will get more heatwaves, but then again we all will.”

It’s all about the doom and gloom. Because that’s what they do best. We also see

These are just a few of the articles published in the last 24 hours. There are plenty more going back a week. I’ll believe it when all the Liberals start abandoning their coastal enclaves.

Sanctuary City Of Portland, Oregon, To Devote $1 Million Towards Illegal Alien Legal Fees

Remember the utter freakout by Leftists over $10 million being shifted from FEMA to ICE a few weeks ago, despite the money having little to do with operations of FEMA? How about now?

Illegal Immigrants to Get $1M for Legal Defense From Oregon Taxpayers

The Portland City Council approved a $500,000 grant for potential deportees’ legal services, and Multnomah County is matching that amount.

A city official told Fox 12 that the funding, which is being called the “Universal Representation Project,” is for illegal immigrants and refugees who may not be able to afford an attorney during legal proceedings.

The grant money will go to Catholic Charities of Oregon, which will use the funds to hire attorneys and paralegals to represent potential deportees.

The Oregonian reported that the $500,000 from Portland will be drawn from the city general fund, which primarily pays for police, fire and parks operations.

Portland’s property crimes are up 11% from last year, and there are certain areas that are becoming dangerous for violent crimes, and vandalism is rising. It’d be nice if money for police, fire, and park operations wasn’t taken away to be used for people who shouldn’t even be in the U.S., much less Portland, eh? But, if the Leftists in Portland want this, well, they should keep their complaints about the police, fire, and parks to themselves.

On “Fox & Friends” on Sunday, former ICE supervisor Jason Piccolo said this move makes absolutely no sense.

He noted that the Justice Department already provides a legal orientation program that gives lawyers training so they can represent illegal immigrants pro bono.

“Every time an alien is encountered and arrested by ICE or through the Border Patrol, they’re provided a list of legal services, pro bono,” Piccolo said. “So, using taxpayer-funded money does not make any sense.”

Piccolo argued that this is just a political move that’s being made for the anti-President Trump, anti-ICE optics.

“Anything that counters President Trump is what the Democrats are going to do,” he said.

Well, yes, but, Democrats would do this no matter which Republican is in the White House.

And, I still maintain that Team Trump should put out statements such as “if you’re in Portland, Oregon, ICE will not come get you.” This way, places like Portland are overrun with illegal aliens, committing crimes, stealing identities, using up the social services, overrunning the school systems, and so forth. If they want the illegals, let them feel the pain from having the illegals.

Shameless Democrats Trot Forth Another BS Allegation Towards Judge Kavanaugh

Perhaps it’s time to start writing letters accusing elected Democrats of inappropriate sexual conduct, especially stuff that occurred dozens of years ago while in school. By Democrats own talking points, those accusations should simply be believed, right? At the New Yorker, Ronan Farrow and Jane Mayer lay out a story that also throws freezing water on the accusation

Senate Democrats Investigate a New Allegation of Sexual Misconduct, from Brett Kavanaugh’s College Year

As Senate Republicans press for a swift vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court, Senate Democrats are investigating a new allegation of sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh. The claim dates to the 1983-84 academic school year, when Kavanaugh was a freshman at Yale University. The offices of at least four Democratic senators have received information about the allegation, and at least two have begun investigating it. Senior Republican staffers also learned of the allegation last week and, in conversations with The New Yorker, expressed concern about its potential impact on Kavanaugh’s nomination. Soon after, Senate Republicans issued renewed calls to accelerate the timing of a committee vote. The Democratic Senate offices reviewing the allegations believe that they merit further investigation. “This is another serious, credible, and disturbing allegation against Brett Kavanaugh. It should be fully investigated,” Senator Mazie Hirono, of Hawaii, said. An aide in one of the other Senate offices added, “These allegations seem credible, and we’re taking them very seriously. If established, they’re clearly disqualifying.”

The woman at the center of the story, Deborah Ramirez, who is fifty-three, attended Yale with Kavanaugh, where she studied sociology and psychology. Later, she spent years working for an organization that supports victims of domestic violence. The New Yorker contacted Ramirez after learning of her possible involvement in an incident involving Kavanaugh. The allegation was conveyed to Democratic senators by a civil-rights lawyer. For Ramirez, the sudden attention has been unwelcome, and prompted difficult choices. She was at first hesitant to speak publicly, partly because her memories contained gaps because she had been drinking at the time of the alleged incident. In her initial conversations with The New Yorker, she was reluctant to characterize Kavanaugh’s role in the alleged incident with certainty. After six days of carefully assessing her memories and consulting with her attorney, Ramirez said that she felt confident enough of her recollections to say that she remembers Kavanaugh had exposed himself at a drunken dormitory party, thrust his penis in her face, and caused her to touch it without her consent as she pushed him away. Ramirez is now calling for the F.B.I. to investigate Kavanaugh’s role in the incident. “I would think an F.B.I. investigation would be warranted,” she said.

Of course she does. Except, if any crime was committed, it was not a federal one. The FBI doesn’t investigate college kids getting drunk and stupid.

Essentially, Ramirez is claiming that she was at a party, they were playing a drinking game, she got drunk, and that she just knows, after thinking about it for days and days, that it was Brett Kavanaugh who exposed his penis to her and got her to touch it. She thinks.

Ramirez acknowledged that there are significant gaps in her memories of the evening, and that, if she ever presents her story to the F.B.I. or members of the Senate, she will inevitably be pressed on her motivation for coming forward after so many years, and questioned about her memory, given her drinking at the party.

The New Yorker has not confirmed with other eyewitnesses that Kavanaugh was present at the party. The magazine contacted several dozen classmates of Ramirez and Kavanaugh regarding the incident. Many did not respond to interview requests; others declined to comment, or said they did not attend or remember the party. A classmate of Ramirez’s, who declined to be identified because of the partisan battle over Kavanaugh’s nomination, said that another student told him about the incident either on the night of the party or in the next day or two. The classmate said that he is “one-hundred-per-cent sure” that he was told at the time that Kavanaugh was the student who exposed himself to Ramirez. He independently recalled many of the same details offered by Ramirez, including that a male student had encouraged Kavanaugh as he exposed himself. The classmate, like Ramirez, recalled that the party took place in a common room on the first floor in Entryway B of Lawrance Hall, during their freshman year. “I’ve known this all along,” he said. “It’s been on my mind all these years when his name came up. It was a big deal.” The story stayed with him, he said, because it was disturbing and seemed outside the bounds of typically acceptable behavior, even during heavy drinking at parties on campus. The classmate said that he had been shocked, but not necessarily surprised, because the social group to which Kavanaugh belonged often drank to excess. He recalled Kavanaugh as “relatively shy” until he drank, at which point he said that Kavanaugh could become “aggressive and even belligerent.”

There are a bunch of people, most unnamed, who try and pull this, but they weren’t there. They don’t know. This is casting aspersions without evidence, which continues on. But, finally

One of the male classmates who Ramirez said egged on Kavanaugh denied any memory of the party. “I don’t think Brett would flash himself to Debbie, or anyone, for that matter,” he said. Asked why he thought Ramirez was making the allegation, he responded, “I have no idea.” The other male classmate who Ramirez said was involved in the incident commented, “I have zero recollection.”

In a statement, two of those male classmates who Ramirez alleged were involved in the incident, the wife of a third male student she said was involved, and three other classmates, Dino Ewing, Louisa Garry, and Dan Murphy, disputed Ramirez’s account of events: “We were the people closest to Brett Kavanaugh during his first year at Yale. He was a roommate to some of us, and we spent a great deal of time with him, including in the dorm where this incident allegedly took place. Some of us were also friends with Debbie Ramirez during and after her time at Yale. We can say with confidence that if the incident Debbie alleges ever occurred, we would have seen or heard about it—and we did not. The behavior she describes would be completely out of character for Brett. In addition, some of us knew Debbie long after Yale, and she never described this incident until Brett’s Supreme Court nomination was pending. Editors from the New Yorker contacted some of us because we are the people who would know the truth, and we told them that we never saw or heard about this.”

The former friend who was married to the male classmate alleged to be involved, and who signed the statement, said of Ramirez, “This is a woman I was best friends with. We shared intimate details of our lives. And I was never told this story by her, or by anyone else. It never came up. I didn’t see it; I never heard of it happening.” She said she hadn’t spoken with Ramirez for about ten years, but that the two women had been close all through college, and Kavanaugh had remained part of what she called their “larger social circle.” In an initial conversation with The New Yorker, she suggested that Ramirez may have been politically motivated. Later, she said that she did not know if this was the case.

So, the people who knew Kavanaugh best, and many who were supposedly at this part, categorically deny the allegation. And Ramirez has zero evidence.

Oh, and she’s a registered Democrat. Surprise?

These people are shameless, and, fortunately for Democrats, we aren’t the type of people who would do this to Democratic nominees when a Democrat has a chance to nominate people to SCOTUS, right? Maybe we should start playing politics as dirty as Democrats.

The very fact that Brett Kavanaugh is refusing to remove himself from the nomination process, and his statements denying the allegations, should tell you all you need to know, namely, that these are false allegations.

And let’s add this in regards to the NY Times article on same

Confirm now.
