World Powers To, Um, Yammer About Global Climate Disruption

Hmm, how did all these players get to the United Nations building?

The 17 nations responsible for 80 percent of carbon emissions blamed for global warming will seek to unblock stalled climate negotiations this week but analysts expect little progress.

The two-day Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate kicks off Monday and will include top government envoys, including US special envoy for climate change Todd Stern.

Oh, good, politicians and bureauweenings.

US President Barack Obama launched the meetings to facilitate climate talks in the wake of last year’s disappointing United Nations conference in Copenhagen.

So, we can expect to see a FAIL tag soon on these meetings.

Levi said the envoys would not seek to resolve the fierce debate over climate change but rather find ways to better define the issues, acknowledging the Cancun meeting would likely be another stalemate.

So…….what’s the point? To define the issues? We already know what they are: on one side are unhinged drones listening to “experts” who want power and money, and the other is people who don’t have their heads up their collective asses. And Cancun is supposed to accomplish nothing? So why bother? Oh, sorry, I forgot that Cancun is a great exotic vacation spot. Wouldn’t want all these people to be denied mostly taxpayer funded working vacations.

Some people still do not believe that humans can have an any effect on something as big as climate.

And some people are so Stupid that they constantly need to LIE to bolster their truck-driving self-esteem.

  3. David says:

Ok, if these people are so worried about the climate and associate any climate alteration with CO2, why do they have such a large CO2 imprint? Could it be that they are the elite and we are the unwashed and thus not able to generate CO2 like they are? For that matter, do you drive a car John? Or do your parents still drive you around? Regardless, do you make an effort to reduce your CO2 emissons?

Hmmmm.. maybe time to put all the pieces of the collected data together?

If our carbon output is only <2%, then why are we crying like chicken little?

Do humans have a strong local affect? Yes. Can we affect the global climate ecosystem to the extent that we can kill the Earth? Impossible.

Question for johnnie ryan- If a two-degree increase in temperatures by the end of the century is going to wipe out hundreds of thousands of species, then how many species got wiped out 1000 years ago, when the temps were as much as 2 degrees higher than that?

  6. captainfish says:

OO OO OO OO… I know!!!!
    I know!!!

All of them!! Because if species can’t survive a 0.5 degree increase now, then they must surely have died out when it was 4 degrees hotter. Thus, the reason why we have ALL new species on earth.

That’s what killed the dinos right?

I’m reminded of a song line, “if we couldn’t laugh we’d just go insane”.
    And there’s your answer!

Liberals/progressives are about the most miserable, doomsaying whiners evah, who never ever laugh and in fact wring their hands in fear, even when they get their way politically.

And so, per the song by Buffet, himself a big fat lefty; they’ve all gone insane!
