Al Qaeda Lego Toys!

Maybe they were confused, and meant to make an Obama lego toy (cheap shot, I know)

A RANGE of Lego-style fighting figures — including an al-Qaeda terrorist — has been slammed by religious leaders.

Can you guess which ones?

The masked follower of 9/11 mastermind Osama Bin Laden comes with a rocket launcher, assault rifle and grenades.

Mohammed Shaffiq, of Muslim organisation The Ramadhan Foundation, branded the toy “absolutely disgusting”.

He said: “It is glorifying terrorism — the makers should be ashamed.

“We should be coming together to unite against terrorism, but how is that possible when children are playing with toys like this?”

Ummmmm, hate to say it, but, he has a point, the toy is pretty disgusting, particularly since I cannot find anything negative about him or the Ramadhan Foundation, in terms of Islamification or terrorism. However, it might be nice if Muslims would speak out a bit more and decry Islamic terrorism, Mr Shaffiq.

There is also a Nazi toy, which, along with the Al Qaeda one, was slammed by a Jewish gentleman in the article.

  1. I think this might be a media outlet (The Sun) trying to create controversy. If you take a look at the company (BrickArms LLC) it is owned by a former web designer (Will Chapman) in Redmond, Washington.

The figure they use as an example is called “Mr. White.” It makes no reference to a “terrorist” or Muslim. He is referred to as a “bandit.” The German soldiers tailor to the US WWII soldiers…and if you read the Washington Post piece in reference to Leggo extended series…it implies that Mr. Chapman is a WWII enthusiast to some exent.

I’m not saying that there are the most tasteful products on the market…but I think that Muslims once again are being overly sensitive about this particular toy.

  2. Interesting stuff. You may have an excellent point.

But teaching kids to kill terrorists instead of cowering in a corner might be a good thing…just my 1/2 cent.

  4. Duncan says:

Much ado ’bout nuttin. These are the “bad guys”. Just like you have the “good guys”. The WWII Lego GIs need the German SS to fight in their Legoland Normandy Beachs, just like our soldiers need ragheads “hooded bandits” to send to Lego hell to be with Lego Allah and their 72 Lego Virgin Goats…

    Much ado…

  5. Yeah, pretty much. It started out as “hey, look at the mad Muslims”, but….
