TLF: Diggbats Protest Dalai Lama Honor

Well, it is really China protesting, but the Diggbats get their own hystericy groove going

China pulled out of a meeting this week at which world powers were to discuss further action against Iran in protest against the U.S. Congress’ plan to honor the Dalai Lama, the State Department said on Monday.

The meeting in Berlin on Wednesday on the showdown with Iran over its nuclear program has been postponed, probably until next week, said a State Department official, who spoke on condition he not be named.

“They had indigestion over the presence of certain spiritual leaders (in the United States) and an event with Congress,” said the official, who spoke on condition he was not named. “It is extraneous to Iranian issues,” he added.

The U.S. Congressional Gold Medal award ceremony at the U.S. Capitol will be the first time U.S. President George W. Bush will have appeared in public with the Dalai Lama, who has visited the White House only for private meetings.

Interestingly, this honor was accorded by the Republican led Congress of 2006. At the same time they are according a well deserved honor to the Dalai Lama, they are tweaking Red China’s nose. This years Democrat led Congress instead goes them one better, and tweaks the private parts of Turkey, a main ally in the war on Islamic terrorism. Hell of a difference, eh?

“For us, the Dalai Lama is a spiritual leader and that is how he is being treated here,” said the State Department official, adding that China informed Washington over the weekend of its decision to pull out of the Berlin meeting.

That spiritualism gives Democrats indigestion, too.

How about the Diggbats? They are as fun as the DUmmies, without the vulgarity

  •  That should be interesting. I’ll be digging next week to see how Shrub Bumbleweed fudges on pronouncing Dalai Lama.
  • In November of 2004, the administration made moves to setup an attack on Iran. In December of 2004, China’s ambassador to Iran flew to Iran and held meetings, saying, “We’ll have your back.” Now we’re doing more China button-pushing? Don’t get me wrong, the Dalai Lama is an amazing human being, and China’s relationship w/ Tibet is f-ed up, but when has the Bush administration ever been on the side of peace? This seems like more of the same flippin’ drum-beat
  •  A photo-op designed to soften up the little dictator’s image.
  •  The Dalai Lama will reach true Nirvana for he will finally truly see, listen and experience true emptiness at the White House.
  • i hope he teaches the prez what it means to be peaceful b/c christian which he claims to be are to to teach peace and love your neighbor. (see! we should love our terrorist Muslim neighbors)
  •  I wonder how the Dalai Lama will like gitmo?
  •  I hope bush doesn’t ask him to pull his finger………
  • I fully expect Dubya to side with the Chinese on this and declare the Dalai Lama a terrorist, have him shipped off to Gitmo and torture a confession out of him.
  •  I hope he spits on Bush.
  • Ok, so Bush says congress is stupid for trying to pass a Armenian Genocide bill because it will piss off the Turks, but its ok for Bush to meet the Dalai Lama at the White House and piss off China? (yes, exactly)
  •  What I would give to see him just walk up to Bush and smack him.

Aren’t they fun? I might have to dumpster dive at Digg more often. It is basically a hangout for Paultards and leftard moonbats at this point.
