For people who say they are all about freedom and expression and tolerance, they sure show none, especially during the Christmas season
A nativity scene that has been sitting in front of the Franklin County Courthouse for more than 50 years is under fire from an atheist group.
The Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation is asking Franklin County to move the nativity statue from the front of the courthouse. According to county leaders, this is the first and only complaint they have received to remove the statue.
The citizens are obviously upset that this out of state group of lefties (come on, we all know they are lefties) is butting in to their business. I have a solution: the Wisconsin group can…..stay the hell out of Franklin County if they want freedom from religion.
CANONSBURG, Pa.—Some residents and business owners in Canonsburg are planning a Christmas celebration in response to a complaint about a Nativity scene at the borough municipal building.
The organizers say it’s not a protest of the town taking down the creche. However, Canonsburg Chamber of Commerce official Terry Hazlett says it’s a way to show that you can still have the Christmas spirit despite what happened.
Earlier this week, the borough decided not to put up the Nativity scene that had been out every December at the municipal building for 57 years after a resident complained that it didn’t belong there. The Knights of Columbus, which installs the scene, instead put it about 20 feet away at a business.
So, one person complains, and the the Chamber jumps. Next thing you know, some lefty group, like the ACLU, would have jumped in and sued. Can’t have the little liberal darling being offended. Have to ruin it for everyone else.
And from earlier in the month
War on Christmas: Colorado atheists are challenging a Denver nativity scene. An atheist group is planning to put three billboards up protesting the nativity scene at Denver’s City and County Building.Colorado atheists believe the nativity is a clear violation of the First Amendment and the separation of church and state.
Three billboards protesting the Nativity scene at the public building will go up within the next few days and will remain up for four weeks, according to the Colorado Coalition of Reason (COCORE).
The billboards are identical. They say, “STOP government support of religion. MOVE this Denver nativity scene to a church.”
Typical. They don’t want to be offended, so they have to try and ruin it for everyone else.
Question for all you lefties who are whining about Christmas displays: you are going to work Christmas eve and day, right? Or, at least, refuse any holiday pay, right? It’s interesting that Muslims and Jews aren’t the ones complaining, it’s lefties.
