Boston Herald Has Some Questions For Obama On Benghazi

No matter what Obama supporters think, this issue is not going to go away

(Boston Herald)… the public and the media must demand answers. What exactly happened this past Sept. 11 in Libya? And why was the Obama administration unable or unwilling to prevent it?

The Benghazi controversy is not one, but four separate scandals — each of which calls into question the president’s leadership.

First, Benghazi raises legitimate questions about Obama’s competence as commander in chief. In last week’s debate, the president said that his No. 1 job is to keep Americans safe. Then why did he not do so in Benghazi?

Was the president unaware of the threat in Libya? Or did he simply fail to treat it with the requisite level of seriousness? The British saw the danger and closed their consulate months earlier. Once the attack was under way, why did the president fail to send assistance?

The other three are

  • the president’s reaction to Benghazi reveals his utter lack of integrity.
  • Benghazi reveals the president to be dishonest.
  • Benghazi reveals Obama’s deeply flawed ideological principles.

It also reveals that the majority of the American Media are unwilling to cover the story in depth. In the past (and certainly with a Republican President) the media would have been all over this story. Consider the coverage for a small potatoes issue like Valerie Plame. It was non stop wall to wall coverage. This is an issue tailor made for the media sharks smelling buckets of blood. Yet, the silence is deafening. Few are investigating or even showing they give a rat’s butt, despite 4 Americans being left to die.

Via American Perspective, which opines “I think the author left out the “Craven Coward” part about Obama, but this will do as a start….”

Due To “Climate Change”, Sandy Is Apparently The New Normal

Warmists just can’t help themselves. And they will take lots of fossil fueled travel to make sure you know about it. Here’s NRDC’s Dan Lashof

When are we going to do more to address the causes of climate change, rather than react to its effects?

We don’t know yet what Hurricane Sandy will leave in its wake as it tears its way toward the Northeast United States – although meteorologists are already warning that this “Frankenstorm” could be another billion-dollar disaster – or as one put it, “an economic and human disaster on multiple levels,” if it makes landfall near Long Island or Northern New Jersey.

But here’s what we do know:

This mega-storm is just one more sign of the new normal that will continue as long as we keep avoiding addressing climate change.

Just like the unprecedented droughts, flooding and heat we all experienced this year, storms like Hurricane Sandy is what global warming looks like.

Got that? One big storm is proof, proof I tell you, that Mankind is causing hotcoldwetdry. Remember those huge, massive storms that occurred the previous 10 years or so…..oh, there weren’t? That’s what we call “weather”?

Remember the days when Warmists told us that weather was not climate? That cold weather was no proof that anthropogenic global warming wasn’t fake? Now the Warmists have linked every weather occurrence, even snow and cold, to their pet pseudo-religion.

The looney tunes known as “Connect The Dots”, part of 350.org, held a rally yesterday to paint a picture that Sandy is part of their cult’s hotcoldwetdry beliefs. Hyper-Leftists Joe Romm is all abuzz in attempting to blame HCWD for Sandy, calling it “unprecedented.” It can’t possibly just be a big storm, something that Mother Nature makes happen, no, it’s because you, dear reader, refuse to unplug your DVR when not in use.

And this is one of the reasons people are extracting themselves from the Cult Of Gore: the unhinged and unscientific pronouncements. That, and the people who push it the hardest tend to have the largest “carbon footprints” and refuse to give up their fossil fueled travel, stop using ice makers, and only buy local.

Politico Offers 5 Political Questions Surrounding Hurricane Sandy

As we head into the last week of the 2012 election season, these are a few interesting questions. The answer are more interesting

(Politico) 1) Will Mitt Romney’s momentum be stopped?

It’s hard to see how the storm helps. The Republican nominee has more than closed the gap with the incumbent over the final weeks of the campaign, taking a slim lead in most national polls. But his national boost hasn’t been mirrored in two pivotal states: Ohio and Virginia. Already Romney had to scrap a full day’s worth of events in Virginia Sunday.

Actually, that depends on which poll one is looking at.

2) Does Obama have a natural advantage because he’s president?

The short answer: Yes. The longer answer: Not if he makes an unforced error. While George W. Bush’s response to Hurricane Katrina ranks among the worst blunders in modern presidential history, it has also ensured that no president or candidate will under-react to the threat of a devastating natural disaster.

This is a big one, because people are going to be asking “why didn’t Obama monitor Benghazi?” If Obama’s answer is “yes, I was monitoring Benghazi” the next question is “well, why didn’t you Do Something to save our people? Who gave the “stand down” orders?” And if Obama showboats during and after Sandy, people will easily understand that he’s making it about himself.

3) How will ad strategies be affected?

Put simply: no one can watch TV if their power’s out. So, so much for inundating them with TV ads.

In NJ, NY and some parts of Pennsylvania, this will be no big deal, since those states are going for Obama anyhow. In Virginia and most of Penn., it could be a big deal and hurt Romney.

4) How will the storm affect early voting?

It won’t in the states in Sandy’s path.

5) Does this throw a wrench into Obama’s vaunted ground game?

Maybe. Because most of the states in the affected region don’t have early voting or aren’t competitive, the scenarios for major damage to Obama’s turnout machine are a bit of a reach.

The article does point out that Team Obama is making an outreach to get people out and help, but, this could fall on “irritated ears” of those who are dealing with the aftermath of Sandy.

Obama has cancelled an appearance in Florida to return to Washington to “monitor” the situation. Compare that to Benghazi, in which Obama decided to head west and campaign in Las Vegas. If Sandy was hitting South Carolina or Georgia, does anyone actually believe Obama would break off his campaign? Is he thinking about Virginia right now? He’s had 4 years to look presidential, and has failed so far.

Hotcoldwetdry Could Release Sea Monsters?

I’m truly hoping that this is a bit of pre-Halloween satire, but, in Warmist World, you never know (via Tom Nelson)

(Your Abeline Online) Here’s another reason to worry about the melting of the arctic ice cap. Something might be under it, and by “thing” we don’t mean manganese nodules or junked Russian subs.

Scientists have identified a new species of marine reptile, the largest yet known, called Pliosaurus funkei. The scientists don’t really mean “funky.” The beast is named after its volunteer discoverers, Bjorn and May-Liss Funke, who found its fossils near the Svalbard Islands, halfway between Norway and the North Pole.

Dubbed Predator X until it was identified as a separate species and given a Latin name, this omnivorous sea monster stretched about 40 feet long, with four paddles, a weight of up to 45 tons and a 6.5-foot skull, with 12-inch teeth, that could generate 33,000 pounds of bite force. That’s considerably more than a Tyrannosaurus rex, which, as we know from “Jurassic Park,” could bite a Subaru in half — not that there was much call for that 150 million years ago.

Hold that thought. Because when global warming finally melts the polar ice cap, we don’t really know what we’ll find under it. There’s nothing like a 150 million-year hibernation to make a 40-foot pliosaur work up an appetite.

Pliosaurus funkei is a real name, and was initially dubbed Predator X. And I’m not finding anything that denotes the op-ed is satire in any form or fashion.

Sorta Blogless Sunday Pinup

Happy Sunday! Another gorgeous day in America, but, all you in Sandy’s way need to take precautions. Remember, most people are killed not from the wind, but from the water. Forget the milk, make sure you have flashlights, batteries, canned goods (and a can opener), and a little cook stove. NOAA has a good website on preparedness, which includes what you need for a kit. Hint: it doesn’t include lots of beer. Oh, and this pinup is by Gil Elvgren, with a wee bit of help.

Anyhow, what is happening in Ye Old Blogosphere? The Fine 15

  1. Doug Ross says no investigation is necessary on Benghazi, Obama just has to answer 10 simple questions
  2. Gay Patriot wonders if Republicans will have a turnout advantage
  3. Sunshine Hours wonders about the notion of burning trees instead of coal
  4. Zilla’s home! Go say hi, and wish her the best.
  5. Victory Girl’s Blog points out that Obama didn’t bother to vote to protect rape victims
  6. This ain’t Hell… covers green business as usual
  7. Traction Control tells undecideds that it is OK to vote for Romney
  8. The Strata-Sphere wonders if Obama allowed the Benghazi attacks to continue in order to rally the country
  9. The Lonely Conservative covers the Des Moines Register endorsement of Romney
  10. The Giants are going to make the Dallas Cowgirls cry…OK, not a link, just saying. Oh, I guess a link. Randy’s gonna be cryin’.
  11. The Jawa Report points out that Obama can’t even call the Benghazi terrorists terrorists.
  12. The Classic Liberal features some typically clueless Obama supporters
  13. Pundit and Pundette discusses what women want
  14. Planck’s Constant discusses when and how to interrupt complainers
  15. Nice Deb discusses Obama voting “present” on Benghazi
  16. And last, but not least, Jammie Wearing Fools catches Joe being Joe

Oops. Hit the publish button early, I had another post up for editing. The Rule 5 and linkfest links will be up by 11am.

Oh, and make sure to Tweet Dan Riehl to get better.

As always, the full set of pinups can be seen in the Patriotic Pinup category, or over at my Gallery page. While we are on pinups, since it is that time of year, have you gotten your “Pinups for Vets” calendar yet? And don’t forget to check out what I declare to be our War on Women Rule 5 and linky luv posts

Anyone else have a link or hotty-fest going on? Let me know so I can add you to the list. (BTW, since someone asked, the reason I leave links for the previous week up (or you might see a *) is because they are place holders for later in the day or for next weeks. Easier than rewriting all the time. Also, the listing order has to do with how they are added over time, not how good a post is. I just copy and paste from the previous week, then edit. If you see one of the *’s, go ahead and check out the blog anyhow, see if there is an update. I cannot update with my Android during the day.

The posts do take a long time, so, if you want to send me your links for Rule 5 babeage or links, use ye olde email in the header bar (remove the NOSPAM part). Preferably, create the html link so I can copy and paste how you want it to read.

“Children Of The Future”: Another Unhinged Leftist Video Taking Advantage Of Kids

It’s all about blaming Mom and Dad. And Republicans. Conservatives. The last 4 years of the Romney presidency….huh? He hasn’t been president? That’s weird.

(Daily Caller) A new video from the founders of a celebrated advertising agency features children “of the future” singing about the aftermath of a Mitt Romney presidency: A world where sick people are required to “just die,” the atmosphere is “frying,” gays can be “fixed” and “oil fills the sea.”

The children, who stare blankly at the camera throughout the video, even take pains to explicitly mention that they blame “mom and dad” for all those horrors.

The video — produced by the founders of the advertising agency Goodby Silverstein & Partners, which came up with the famous tagline “Got milk?” and boasts clients like Cheetos, Netflix, the National Basketball Association and Nintendo — asks viewers, “What Would The Children Of The Future Say If We Let Them Down This November?”

What would they say?

Darleen Click says Honey Boo Boo’s mother is Parent of the Year in comparison. The Lonely Conservative points out that children are off-limits, unless you are a leftist tool. The Other McCain wants to make these children cry. The Daley Gator isn’t impressed by the Leftist tools using kids.

Here are the lyrics

Imagine an America
Where strip mines are fun and free
Where gays can be fixed
And sick people just die
And oil fills the sea

We don’t have to pay for freeways!
Our schools are good enough
Give us endless wars
On foreign shores
And lots of Chinese stuff

We’re the children of the future
American through and through
But something happened to our country
And we’re kinda blaming you

We haven’t killed all the polar bears
But it’s not for lack of trying
Big Bird is sacked
The Earth is cracked
And the atmosphere is frying

Congress went home early
They did their best we know
You can’t cut spending
With elections pending
Unless it’s welfare dough

We’re the children of the future
American through and through
But something happened to our country
And we’re kinda blaming you

Find a park that is still open
And take a breath of poison air
They foreclosed your place
To build a weapon in space
But you can write off your au pair

It’s a little awkward to tell you
But you left us holding the bag
When we look around
The place is all dumbed down
And the long term’s kind of a drag

We’re the children of the future
American through and through
But something happened to our country
And yeah, we’re blaming you

You did your best
You failed the test

Mom and Dad
We’re blaming you!

That’s strange, nothing in there about $5 trillion plus in new debt, trillion dollar deficits, record numbers of people on food stamps, Social Security disability, and welfare, nothing about record numbers of people dropping out of the jobs market and long term unemployment, “kill lists”, letting our enemies, and government employees, know that the government will not ride in to rescue our people, wasting a trillion dollars on a Stimulus that failed….you know the hit list. It’s led be a SCOAMF, elected in 2008 on a platform of Hope and Change.

And, yes, this pro-Obama. The tagline over at Youtube for the video is “Re-electing President Obama is a momentous decision that will require every single voter.” Make sure to add your down-twinkles.

I’m Still Waiting For All That Sweet Sweet Climate Denial Cash

Warmists just can’t help themselves. They are continually searching for some rationale to show that their cult is dying due to something other than people realizing it’s a bunch of mule fritters. Here’s Climate Science Watch (via Tom Nelson)

PBS FRONTLINE’s “Climate of Doubt,” an investigation of the global warming disinformation campaign and its sources of support, aired on October 23 and featured a number of prominent faces that will be familiar to readers of Climate Science Watch. And there are some newer players, hiding the anonymous funders who stand behind the denialist political operatives and court jesters. Sen. John Kerry said on the program, “American politics is being completely defined by huge sums of money. … And it has now made many people in public life very gunshy because they are afraid of having those amounts of money spent against them.”

I suppose I’d be considered one of those “court jesters”, but, so far, no one has been lining my pockets with that awesome anti-hotcoldwetdry cash.

In other words, in the war of misinformation, climate science — with its factual information and scientific review process – has stumbled into the crosshairs of these right-wing organizations. Using their trusty Winchester Model 70 bolt-action hunting rifle, these organizations started firing away at the science of climate change. If the public thinks the basic science is settled, then the logical next step is political and policy movement on the issue — something these organizations are struggling against.

If it was so factual, then there would be no problem blasting away, because we Climate Realists would never hit it. Supposedly, we are also well organized

What surprised me about the analysis was really the comprehensive nature of the climate countermovement. This is an extremely well-organized political movement that has a number of different components that are loosely coordinated but all act along the same lines. You have organizations that focus on development of ideas, such as think tanks, media outlets, advertising for public opinion, scholarly activities at universities.

If only we were. Then we’d be able to kill off this absurd notion of anthropogenic global warming, er, climate change, which is simply a mask for pushing Progressive (fascist) policies of Big Centralized Government.

All this sounds more like projection on the part of Warmists.
