Iran Takes Samples At Parchin Military Site Without IAEA Present

Hey, remember when Liberal supporters of the Iran deal were scoffing at the notion of a secret side deal between Iran and the IAEA which would allow Iran to do their own inspection of their Parchin facility, even going so far as to refer to those who believed the AP report as “Parchin Truthers”?

Remember when Obama said “Iran will face strict limitations on its program, and Iran has also agreed to the most robust and intrusive inspections and transparency regime ever negotiated for any nuclear program in history. So this deal is not based on trust, it’s based on unprecedented verification.”?

This is the “unprecedented verification, I suppose

(Reuters) Iranian nuclear experts have taken environmental samples from the military base at Parchin without United Nations inspectors being present, the spokesman for Iran’s atomic energy agency was quoted as saying on Monday.

The procedure for taking the samples, which could shed light on whether Iran’s nuclear program ever had a military dimension, has been under intense discussion since Tehran reached a nuclear deal with world powers in July.

Western diplomats told Reuters earlier this month inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations nuclear watchdog, would observe samples being taken.

“Iranian experts took samples from specific locations in Parchin facilities this week without IAEA’s inspectors being present,” Behruz Kamalvandi was quoted as saying by state news agency IRNA.

Well, now, this means that the side deal is real, or that Iran is blowing off the requirement to allow inspectors, and just doing the work themselves.

Anyone want to place a bet on the samples being perfectly clean? Will Iran even submit the required videos and pictures that the side deal demanded?

So much for anytime anywhere verifiable inspections. I guess we’re just going to have to go with “trust“. Of the Iranian regime.

Obama Administration To Accept 200,000 “Refugees” Through 2017

Fantastic! Nothing like bringing tons more people from war torn countries with a history of Islamic extremism, who will mostly not speak our language, won’t share even the most basic of American values, and will immediately demand government assistance, over the needs of American citizens

(NY Times) The Obama administration will increase the number of worldwide refugees the United States accepts each year to 100,000 by 2017, a significant increase over the current annual cap of 70,000, Secretary of State John Kerry said Sunday.

“This step that I am announcing today, I believe, is in keeping with the best tradition of America as a land of second chances and a beacon of hope,” Mr. Kerry said, adding that it “will be accompanied by additional financial contributions” for the relief effort.

The American move, announced after Mr. Kerry held talks in Berlin with his German counterpart, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, still falls far short of the global demand for resettlement from people who continue to flee turmoil in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries.

A goodly majority of these refugees/migrants are fighting age men. By all reports, only one-half to one-third are women and children. You look at all the pictures, and see barely any women and children. A good chunk of European countries are shutting down their borders, especially the prosperous northern EU nations.

What skills do they bring? What of their culture? How many are part of the Islamic extremist movement? How many are violent? We’ve seen more than enough rioting in European countries that have seen these folks stream in. Why are they not streaming into other Middle Eastern countries and Africa? Why only prosperous Western nations? Why are we responsible for them?

Who are they?

(UK Daily Mail) Only one in every five migrants claiming asylum in Europe is from Syria.

The EU logged 213,000 arrivals in April, May and June but only 44,000 of them were fleeing the Syrian civil war.

Campaigners and left-wing MPs have suggested the vast majority of migrants are from the war-torn state, accusing the Government of doing too little to help them.

‘This exposes the lie peddled in some quarters that vast numbers of those reaching Europe are from Syria,’ said David Davies, Tory MP for Monmouth. ‘Most people who are escaping the war will go to camps in Lebanon or Jordan.

The stream of these “economic refugees/migrants” exploded when some leading politicians in Europe said they would accept Syrian refugees. Now, some 80% are coming from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nigeria, Albania, Libya, and other nations not called Syria. Reports show this could cost Germany 25 billion Euros, the equivalent of $28.13 billion US. Why are we responsible for taking in those escaping from their own hell-hole for economic reasons, at the expense of our own citizens?

How will will make sure that those coming are not part of extremist Islam? We aren’t talking about people escaping Europe, who brought similar and compatible values. We aren’t talking about other refugees who joined the great melting pot and raised families.

Newest Published Pause Excuse: It Never Happened!

This is not a new excuse: it’s number 5 on the list of global warming pause excuses. This is just a new attempt to explain the Pause away

(Takepart) It has been a bad week for global warming skeptics.

On top of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrations’ announcement that 2015 will almost certainly beat 2014 as the hottest year on record (not to mention the U.K. Met’s projectiont hat 2016 will smash heat records),…

Interesting. They’re already telling us what they plan to do prior to actually having data. Science! And it still wouldn’t prove anthropogenic causation.

….new research out of Stanford University is trashing climate skeptics’ “hiatus” theory, which claims there was a 15-year lull in rising global temperatures between 1998 and 2013.

The paper, published Thursday in in the journal Climatic Change, looked at a comprehensive set of papers, statistics and historical records to see if temperatures really stopped rising around 1998, for about 15 years—what many have dubbed the climate change “pause” or “hiatus.”

Turns out it was just a statistical error, said Noah Diffenbaugh, climate scientist at Stanford and coauthor of the study.

The “statistical error” thing isn’t new, either.

First, the data points were misleading. In a study released in June, NOAA officials reexamined their ocean temperature points from buoy measurements. They found that for the past couple of decades, their buoys had been returning cooler temperature readings than the measurements gathered by ships in the same are. When they reworked the data, they found that the rate of warming (about .116 degrees Celsius per decade) was nearly identical to the past five decades.

To cover their bases, lead researcher Bala Rajaratnam, an assistant professor of statistics and Earth system science at Stanford, said the team combined NOAA’s old and corrected measurements to see if a climate pause could be detected.

In other words, they didn’t like the actual raw data, so they changed it. They also went on to use a “statistical” method, whereby they manufacture out of nothing, er, extrapolate, data in areas that have no measurements.

It’s cute how the Cult of Climastrology works so darned hard to protect their cult. At the end of the day, even this fails to disprove the utter failure of their computer models, which predicted fast rising temperatures. Even if we are to believe that 2014 was the Hottest Evah!!!!!, it was by hundreds of a degree. And that data had issues, to the point where they admitted there was only a 38% chance they were right. But, it would still be below the original models.

Keep trying, Warmists. And give up your own fossil fuels usage.

Easier than rewriting all the time. Also, the listing order has to do with how they are added over time, not how good a post is. I just copy and paste from the previous week, then edit. If you see one of the *’s, go ahead and check out the blog anyhow, see if there is an update. I cannot update with my Android during the day.

SJWs Upset Leftist ESPN Showed “Sexist” Sign While Expressing Disagreement

ESPN, long a hotbed of liberal ideas, which, is fine, they’re entitled to their opinions, started broadcasting those political views years back, mixing them with the reason people tune in, ie, sports. Well, they have a wee bit of a problems Saturday

(CNN) ESPN is drawing criticism for a fan picture on its social media accounts that some say is sexist.

The picture, taken outside the University of Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday, shows a Crimson Tide fan holding a sign directed at opponents University of Mississippi.

Here’s what it looks like (I’m shocked they didn’t take it down)

https://twitter.com/CollegeGameDay/status/645225427804553216

There are actually quite a few trashtalk signs highlighted by ESPN

Anchor Rece Davis and analyst Kirk Herbstreit rebuked the image as it flashed on the screen during the broadcast among other fan zone shots.

“I can’t condone that type of behavior,” Davis said.

“That is unacceptable,” Herbstreit said.

So, they saw, they condemned, both on-air and on Twitter. But, they dared actually highlight to condemn!

As one Twitter user said, “Utterly classless and embarrassing to feature this sign. What does this say about your brand? Integrity?”

“You guys really shouldn’t perpetuate this garbage. Sets a bad example. I get it, it’s a rivalry. Little inappropriate though,” another said.

Of all the Social Justice Warrior replies in the Tweet link, excoriating ESPN for daring to highlight a sign and saying “no, stop!”, this is possibly my favorite

Seriously, this SJW wants College Game Day to delete their account, while posting the same exact photo. Perhaps she should delete her account?

And, yeah, tons of reply tweets are highlighting that they are Offended, and magnifying this simple trash-talk sign by around a million percent.

Anyhow, in SJW World, SJWs can apparently not show what they are condemning anymore, otherwise this causes Offense. Have we reached peek SJW?

Baltimore Mayor: We Totally Had Great Leadership Despite Rioting And Violence

Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has a hilarious opinion piece running at The Hill, showing serious hutzpah

Unrest happened despite good leadership

I’m wondering who wrote that headline: her or someone at The Hill? Because she’s the person who said “we also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that”. And they did just that.

The message is clear when it comes to the need for broad police reforms.  High profile instances of police brutality and the use of excessive force have, over time, broken the trust that must exist between police officers and the communities which rely on them.

In a recent column in the Congress blog, authors Angela Glover Blackwell and Andrew Friedman were correct in their premise that mayors are uniquely positioned to spearhead the lasting change communities everywhere are crying out for.

Last time I checked, that “police brutality” was happening under her watch. And had happened under the watch of previous Democratic Party administrations.

However when it comes to Baltimore, the authors derived all the wrong lessons about what led to the unrest in my hometown.

Baltimore’s unrest didn’t occur because of a lack of proactive leadership – the outrage, burning and looting that followed the death of Freddie Gray occurred despite the proactive reforms that were already in place.  The real lesson from Baltimore is that no city is exempt, even when the local leadership confronts these challenges head on. We didn’t turn a blind eye.

If you read the rest, this is all about covering her own ass, even as she says she will not run for another term. So far, there have been 238 homicides in Mayor SRB’s Baltimore. That’s more than NYC, despite having around 13 times fewer citizens. Violent and property crimes are up in her Baltimore. Baltimore is known for its massive use of bulletproof glass in stores throughout, in order to protect the workers and merchandise.

This is the way it works in Liberal World: refuse to take ownership for all the problems they create, and then claim that they are super awesome.

Fish Wrap: Refugees Are A Total Boon For Europe

I would have ended that headline with “Or Something”, but I did that in the previous post. The NY Times Editorial Board does think all these refugees out of war-torn Syria are super awesome, though

Europe Should See Refugees as a Boon, Not a Burden

Many European leaders have described the refugees who are risking their lives to get to the Continent as a burden. But there is good reason to believe that these immigrants will contribute more to Europe economically than they will take from it.

Numerous studies have found that immigrants bolster growth by increasing the labor force and consumer demand. Rather than being a drain, immigrants generally pay more in taxes than they claim in government benefits. Even a large influx of immigrants does not mean fewer jobs for the existing population, since economies do not have a finite number of jobs. Immigrants often bring skills with them, and some start new businesses, creating jobs for others. The less skilled often take jobs that are hard to fill, like in child care, for example, which allows more parents to work.

The problem here, being, of course, that these immigrants are not high skilled. They barely speak the language, if speak it at all. Their culture is completely different from that of these European countries. And there must be jobs available for them to work and pay taxes. The actual history of migrants invading Europe over the past few decades from the Middle East, southern Asia, and Northern Africa has shown that assimilation is virtually non-existent. Heck, quite a few of these groups have demanded that the European countries change to accommodate the both legal and illegal migrants. Witness the Rotherham child exploitation case. Witness the high levels of violence and arson in France. Witness these Islamists taking over sections of Sweden, creating “no-go” zones of Muslim gangs, along with places where Sharia law rules (the UK has seen much of the same). Witness politicians telling law enforcement and others to leave the groups alone as they create separation from the host country.

One has to wonder why these same refugees haven’t streamed in other Middle Eastern nations and Africa. Those countries don’t want them and refuse to take them, for the most part. Instead, they head to Europe. And, for all the Times’ equivocation regarding “immigration”, they fail to mention the possibility of tons of hardcore Islamists being part of the crowds, both those who simply practice and push the hardcore brand of Islam, and those who act in violent ways while practicing the hardcore version of Islam. How many jihadists are amongst the refugees?

Of course, the EB takes the opportunity to bash Republicans for daring to stand in the way of an invasion of low skilled workers who refuse to assimilate, and ends with

Advocating a pro-immigration position has become politically difficult in the West, in large part because opponents have successfully cast newcomers as economic and social burdens. Their false arguments damage economies and the lives of millions of people trying to escape war and poverty.

The EB is confusing legal and illegal immigration. There are more than enough studies showing that illegal aliens tend to be a drain on society, deflating wages, using up social services, causing problems in hospital ER rooms overrun with illegals, increased crime, and demands that the invaded country kowtow to their demands.

The comments at the editorial are very interesting. Here’s my favorite by MCS

Would the NYT Editorial Board take on hundreds of new unskilled, uneducated journalists, and pay them a weekly salary, until one may, with some will and a lot of luck become a real attribute o the newspaper? That’s precisely what it is lecturing the E.U to do at a time when Globalism has decimated many economies of democracies in the west, countries that barely know how to keep their own citizens working, much less take on more.

What say, Times?

Iranian President Says “Death To America” Chants Aren’t Really Meant To Be Personal Or Something

It wouldn’t be a Friday in Iran if there wasn’t a rally where they’re chanting Death To America and Death To Israel. Well, that and hanging gays, stoning rape victims, and torturing others. But, hey, we aren’t supposed to take it personally!

Iranian crowds chanting ‘death to America’ don’t mean it personally, says president Hassan Rouhani

In an interview with 60 Minutes due to be broadcast on Sunday, Mr Rouhani said the famous Friday ritual is a reaction to previous Washington policy decisions that hurt Iran.

In April, US president Barack Obama’s administration signed a deal with Mr Rouhani’s government to release Iran from many of the sanctions harming its economy in return for tight controls on its nuclear program.

But many in the US are still convinced that Iran, which is ultimately led not by Mr Rouhani but by supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, remains bent on their country’s destruction.

In the fierce domestic American debate over the deal, opponents have often cited the regular appearance of chanting anti-American crowds as evidence of Tehran’s true intentions.

But Mr Rouhani, seen as a moderate reformer by the standards of the Islamic republic, attempted to reassure his CBS interviewer Steve Kroft and the wider audience.

“This slogan that is chanted is not a slogan against the American people. Our people respect the American people,” he insisted in an extract from the interview released by CBS.

Nothing says “respect” like chanting for those people’s deaths, am I right? By this same measure, it means all those #BlackLivesMatter folks really love the police, eh?

Many Iranians may respect the American people. More than enough, especially the hardliners who run the country, do not, and actually wish death on America and Israel. I wonder if Steve Kroft followed up regarding the chants of “death to Israel”. and how Iran has repeatedly stated that Israel would be wiped off the map?

But, this kind of yammering is surely meant to placate liberal supporters of the Iran deal, a deal which simply punts Iran’s nuclear weapons ambitions down the road 8-15 years. These same liberal supporters, both American and foreign, are often the same people who despise America in the first place.
