Let’s not forget that more than half of Democrats believed that George Bush knew about the attacks, and let them happen/made them happen. There are many other similar polls. But, hey, yeah, we’re the crazy ones
Crazy Talk at the Republican Debate
And that, America, is frightening. Peel back the boasting and insults, the lies and exaggerations common to any presidential campaign. What remains is a collection of assertions so untrue, so bizarre, that they form a vision as surreal as the Ronald Reagan jet looming behind the candidates’ lecterns.
It felt at times as if the speakers were no longer living in a fact-based world where actions have consequences, programs take money and money has to come from somewhere. Where basic laws — like physics and the Constitution — constrain wishes. Where Congress and the public, allies and enemies, markets and militaries don’t just do what you want them to, just because you say they will.
They whine about immigration, then the Times’ editorial board says that illegal immigration isn’t even a problem. Perhaps we should ask all those who’ve had their identities stolen, those who’ve lost their jobs, and those who’ve seen depressed wages. Or the family of Kate Steinle.
Then they want to capitulate to Iran and Russia. Then
Jeb Bush spun a particularly repellent fantasy. Speaking reverently of his brother the president, he said, “He kept us safe,†and invoked the carnage of 9/11. Wait, what? Did he mean George W. Bush, who was warned about the threat that Al Qaeda would attack? Who then invaded a non sequitur country, Iraq, over a nonexistent threat?
There’s the August 6 PDB yammering, something the 9/11 Truth movement loves to trot out. A briefing with no actionable intelligence. Kinda like saying “hey, someone might break into your house.” If Bush had instituted any policies to attempt to stop this, such as profiling Muslim men entering the US, the same NY Times would have gone ballistic. Of course, most were already here, having trained in the US under the Clinton policies.
As for Iraq, nearly every single Democrat, foreign intelligence service, and, hey, even the NY Times thought Iraq was a threat. How soon these Truthers forget. Well, not really forget as much as rewrite history.

Well, bless his heart
(US News) Taking aim at his potential political opponents, Vice President Joe Biden railed Wednesday against Republicans who “deny climate change” and want to shut down the federal government over funding for Planned Parenthood, and pleaded with them to “just get out of the way.”
Biden came to California, a national leader on clean energy, to tout solar technology and ramp up pressure on the U.S. and other nations as the Obama administration presses for a successful finish to global climate talks. Yet his visit was infused with 2016 overtones, and he playfully mocked Republicans who reject mainstream climate science that says humans are contributing to warmer temperatures.
“I think if you pushed them, they’d probably deny gravity as well,” Biden said.
He also whined about the Koch brothers. This all came after a long cross-country fossil fueled flight, followed, of course, by a convoy of fossil fueled vehicles to take him from the airport to the reception. Warmists are so cute when they’re hypocritical.
Speaking of hypocrites, David Letterman joins the CoC
The former late night host will travel to India for an episode of the National Geographic Channel’s Emmy-Award winning documentary series, Years of Living Dangerously, to address the issue of climate change.
Nothing like a fossil fueled flight to the other side of the world to make a (barely watched) show about Hotcoldwetdry.

Shockingly, Warmists get upset when I refer to them as Progressives, which were termed “nice fascists” by Jonah Goldberg in his book “Liberal Fascism”. The nice part refers to them doing things “for your own good”. Apparently, stifling dissent through hardcore federal investigations is now for your own good
(Politico) Twenty climate scientists called for RICO investigation in a letter to Obama and U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch. The scientists argue that the systemic efforts to prevent the public from understanding climate change resembles the investigation undertaken against tobacco. They draw inspiration from Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse who said on the Senate floor that there might be a similar conspiracy here, and a civil trial could provide the tools of discovery needed to find out. http://bit.ly/1F3bue2
That letter (at the link) states
Dear President Obama, Attorney General Lynch, and OSTP Director Holdren,
As you know, an overwhelming majority of climate scientists are convinced about the potentially serious adverse effects of human-induced climate change on human health, agriculture, and biodiversity. We applaud your efforts to regulate emissions and the other steps you are taking. Nonetheless, as climate scientists we are exceedingly concerned that America’s response to climate change – indeed, the world’s response to climate change – is insufficient. The risks posed by climate change, including increasing extreme weather events, rising sea levels, and increasing ocean acidity – and potential strategies for addressing them – are detailed in the Third National Climate Assessment (2014), Climate Change Impacts in the United States. The stability of the Earth’s climate over the past ten thousand years contributed to the growth of agriculture and therefore, a thriving human civilization. We are now at high risk of seriously destabilizing the Earth’s climate and irreparably harming people around the world, especially the world’s poorest people.
We appreciate that you are making aggressive and imaginative use of the limited tools available to you in the face of a recalcitrant Congress. One additional tool – recently proposed by Senator Sheldon Whitehouse – is a RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) investigation of corporations and other organizations that have knowingly deceived the American people about the risks of climate change, as a means to forestall America’s response to climate change. The actions of these organizations have been extensively documented in peerreviewed academic research (Brulle, 2013) and in recent books including: Doubt is their Product (Michaels, 2008), Climate Cover-Up (Hoggan & Littlemore, 2009), Merchants of Doubt (Oreskes & Conway, 2010), The Climate War (Pooley, 2010), and in The Climate Deception Dossiers (Union of Concerned Scientists, 2015). We strongly endorse Senator Whitehouse’s call for a RICO investigation.
The methods of these organizations are quite similar to those used earlier by the tobacco industry. A RICO investigation (1999 to 2006) played an important role in stopping the tobacco industry from continuing to deceive the American people about the dangers of smoking. If corporations in the fossil fuel industry and their supporters are guilty of the misdeeds that have been documented in books and journal articles, it is imperative that these misdeeds be stopped as soon as possible so that America and the world can get on with the critically important business of finding effective ways to restabilize the Earth’s climate, before even more lasting damage is done.

Top UN scientist Dr. Kevin Trenberth and 19 other scientists have become so tired of debating global warming that they are now apparently seeking to jail those who disagree with them. One of the scientists who signed the letter was Alan Robock of Rutgers University. Robock has expressed very positive views of Cuba’s Fidel Castro after trips there in 2010 and 2011. For all their caterwauling about the Planned Parenthood videos, for all their complaints, few will actually watch them. They do not want to be disabused of their notion that PP is super awesome
(Breitbart) The hearing in the House subcommittee on health of the Committee on Energy and Commerce was to consider proposals to expand protections for unborn children whosurvive an abortion and also the federal ban on partial birth abortion.
Reps. Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Renee Elmers (R-NC) want the Congress to give states the right to withhold federal funding, especially Medicaid funding, if an abortion provider is even suspected to violating either the Infants Born Alive Protection Act or the Partial Birth Abortion Act.
Subcommittee chairman Rep. Joe Pitts (R-PA) opened the hearing by showing video of Holly O’Donnell, the StemExpress whistle-blower talking about how a Planned Parenthood staff member showed her starting a baby’s heart. Other footage shown by Pitts showed Planned Parenthood personnel talking about intact fetuses, leading some to believe the children were born alive.
In the committee hearing last week, witnesses said the Democrats refused even to look at them. This time some of them looked, others looked away and still others “panicked,†in the words of one observer. They huddled together and then tried to have sub-committee chairman Pitts stop them. He refused.
We shouldn’t be surprised in the least that Democrats spend most of the time attacking the videos (which they didn’t want to watch, and probably didn’t for the most part) and the group that took them. They claim there is no evidence PP did anything wrong, though they pretty much refuse to watch the videos to see the evidence.
One has to wonder why Democrats have such strong support of PP that they engage in these childish games. Obviously, abortion on demand is a main sacrament within their fascistic political cult. Is it that they cannot admit that people can do bad things within their favorite abortion providing operation? Or is it that they really like that PP provides abortions for Black women in so many black areas around the country? 78% of their clinics are in minority neighborhoods. PP founder Margaret Sanger was proud racist, loved eugenics, and though Blacks were a mongrel race, saying “Colored people are like human weeds and are to be exterminated.”
Is that why Democrats support PP to such an extreme? Are they simply showing their historical racism towards Blacks in a different manner?

The latest unhinged scary fable, this one from Soros funded Think Progress
This Is Your Brain On Climate Change
We spend vast amounts of time and personal energy trying to calculate the most urgent threats posed by climate change. Washington, D.C. psychiatrist and climate activist Lise Van Susteren, however, says the most insidious danger may already be upon us. She’s not talking about heat, drought, floods, severe storms, or rising seas. She’s focused on the psychological risks posed by global warming.
Van Susteren has co-authored a report on the psychological effects of climate change that predicts Americans will suffer “depressive and anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders, substance abuse, suicides, and widespread outbreaks of violence,†in the face of rising temperatures, extreme weather, and scarce resources. Van Susteren and her co-author Kevin Coyle write that counselors and first responders “are not even close to being prepared to handle the scale and intensity of impacts that will arise from the harsher conditions and disasters that global warming will unleash.â€
Strange. We had all those things prior to CO2 going above 350ppm. And, it’s not like all the doomy prognostications of future doom aren’t causing issues with Believers and kids now, as the Cult of Climastrology trots out their scary fables.
Those who do acknowledge the problem face a different set of issues, particularly those who work on the problem. Lisa Van Susteren coined the term “pre-traumatic stress disorder†to describe the grief, anger, and anxiety clinging to the scientists and advocates whose job it is to gaze into a future that can look increasingly bleak.

The sun drives the climate: Proof of the 90 and 200-year cycles in the earth’s climate history
By Dr. Sebastian Lüning and Prof. Fritz Vahrenholt
(Translated/edited by P Gosselin)Solar activity fluctuates very much in cycles, among them the Gleissberg Cycle over 90 years, plus or minus 30 years. In March 2015 a study by Orgutsov et al. appeared in the journal Advances in Space Research which discovered the solar Gleissberg Cycle during the growth period of the northern hemisphere over the past 450 years. The authors suspected a solar impact on temperatures on plant growth. The abstract:
Evidence for the Gleissberg solar cycle at the high-latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere
Time evolution of growing season temperatures in the Northern Hemisphere was analyzed using both wavelet and Fourier approaches. A century-scale (60–140 year) cyclicity was found in the summer temperature reconstruction from the Taymir peninsula (∼72° N, ∼105° E) and other high-latitude (60–70° N) regions during the time interval AD 1576–1970. This periodicity is significant and consists of two oscillation modes, 60–70 year and 120–140 year variations. In the summer temperatures from the Yamal peninsula (∼70° N, ∼67° E) only a shorter-term (60–70 year) variation is present. A comparison of the secular variation in the Northern Hemisphere temperature proxies with the corresponding variations in sunspot numbers and the fluxes of cosmogenic 10Be in Greenland ice shows that a probable cause of this variability is the modulation of temperature by the century-scale solar cycle of Gleissberg. This is consistent with the results obtained previously for Northern Fennoscandia (67°–70° N, 19°–33° E). Thus, evidence for a connection between century-long variations in solar activity and climate was obtained for the entire boreal zone of the Northern Hemisphere.â€A year earlier Ogurtsov and a Finnish colleague had already published another paper on the Gleissberg cycles in the Journal of Atmospheric and Solar-Terrestrial Physics. Back then they reported a solar Gleissberg Cycle in the nitrate concentrations in polar ice cores:
Head on over and read the rest.
We also know that the 11 year solar cycle has an undeniable impact on climate. And there are 23 major papers this year alone on the complex topic of the sun and climate.
Warmists are more than willing to admit that the Sun was one of the major drivers of climate, along with other natural processes, in past warm and cool periods. But, now, they will barely admit that the sun and other natural drivers have any effect. It couldn’t possibly be because they have a political agenda, could it?
No one really seems to know if Hillary signed any of the required forms
(Daily Caller) Amid the many unanswered questions in the Hillary Clinton email scandal is whether the former secretary of state signed an official document acknowledging that she turned over all of the classified information in her possession to the State Department when she left office in Feb. 2013.
The “Classified Information Nondisclosure Agreement†— Special Form 312 — also requires incoming government officials to acknowledge that classified information can be either “marked†or “unmarked†as such.
But finding out whether Clinton signed the document has been difficult.
The State Department declined to say whether she signed the form. The Daily Caller has also learned that the agency has not turned SF-312s for Clinton and several of her top aides over to the Senate Judiciary Committee, which requested them on Aug. 5.
Let me just note that the start of this article is a little confusing. The first paragraph is actually referring to Form 109, something all outgoing employees must sign, specifying that they have turned over all official records. State cannot say whether she signed it. In other words, they know she didn’t, and are stonewalling. Low ranking employees who have failed to sign it could have their pensions withheld.
Special Form 312 was something all government employees and contractors, licensees, and grantees must sign per Executive Order 13292 in 2003, building on an Order by Bill Clinton, later replaced by Obama with Executive Order 13292. So, it was a requirement for Hillary to sign it.
It also states that all employees must turn in all classified material upon separation from State.
The form presents a dilemma of sort. If Clinton did sign it when she took office, she acknowledged that there is no distinction between “marked†and “unmarked†classified information. If Clinton did not sign the document, then allowing her access to classified information would have violated federal regulations.
The form requires officials to attest that they understanding that classified information which they have access to “will remain the property of, or under the control of the United States Government unless and until otherwise determined by an authorized official or final ruling of a court of law.â€
If she did sign it, failure to comply could lead to criminal prosecution and loss of security clearance. If she didn’t, this would once again show her complete lack of regard for following the rules.
