Many outlets are running pieces which seemed surprised, even shocked that the Trump administration would finally end a program which is explained in the name
U.S. to end temporary residence for nearly 60,000 Haitians
The Trump administration has given nearly 60,000 Haitians with provisional legal residency in this country 18 months to leave, announcing Monday that it will not renew the Temporary Protected Status that has allowed them to remain here for more than seven years.
The decision came after the Department of Homeland Security determined that the “extraordinary conditions†justifying their presence in the United States following a 2010 earthquake “no longer exist,†according to a senior administration official.
“Since the 2010 earthquake, the number of displaced people in Haiti has decreased by 97 percent,†acting homeland security secretary Elaine Duke said in a statement. “Significant steps have been taken to improve the stability and quality of life for Haitian citizens, and Haiti is able to safely receive traditional levels of returned citizens.â€
It’s all in the name: Temporary Protected Status. They’ve been given 18 months to get their affairs in order and head back home.
But the Trump administration has repeatedly noted that the program was meant to be temporary, not a way for people to become long-term legal residents of the United States. Administration officials have said that decisions on further extensions would be made on the basis of whether initial justifications for protection still exist.
That’s the point of temporary. This applies to many other groups, such as Nicaraguans, Hondurans, Salvadorans, and others.
“It appears ideology won over a practical application of the law,†said Kevin Appleby, senior director of the New York-based Center for Migration Studies.
Rocio Saenz, executive vice president of the Service Employees International Union, which claims thousands of members living here under TPS, called the decision “heartbreaking, and harmful in every way.â€
Remember, these same people go apoplectic when the U.S. gets involved militarily around the world to protect people. I guess they only care when we bring in vast loads of people who do not speak our language, do not share our culture or values, have little in the way of 1st world skills, and will essentially be wards of the state.

This is obviously time for Thanksgiving
Could turkey poop help stop climate change? An Israeli research team thinks so.
None of us want to think too hard about the turkeys we are about to eat on Thanksgiving. We especially don’t need to think about the excrement they produce.
But what if that excrement could help halt climate change?
According to researchers at Israel’s Ben-Gurion University, turkey excrement — along with waste produced by other poultry, like chicken — could partially replace coal as a renewable energy resource and reduce global greenhouse gas emissions.
“Treated excrement from turkeys, chickens and other poultry, when converted to combustible solid biomass fuel, could replace approximately 10 percent of coal used in electricity generation, reducing greenhouse gases and providing an alternative energy source,†the university said Monday in a news release.
Well, it’s good that they’re talking about poop, since that’s what this whole thing is: a bunch of mule fritters propagated by pull who are so full of it that their shoes are swimming in brown stuff and we need hip waders to get past them.
As a bonus, we have this
Why Thanksgiving turns your marriage into a sexist 1950s nightmare: https://t.co/unjedFN40v pic.twitter.com/syLeWYupEV

Yes, it’s as stupid as you think. Apparently, because one woman, Brigid Shulte, married a jerk, well, every married man is now a 1950’s sexist.
BTW, why is that everyone needs to tell everyone in the world their Victimhood story?

Remember the days when Newsweek was a respected weekly magazine featuring excellent news and interesting material? Well, there’s a reason that it sold for $1 with clickbait insanity like this (via Twitchy)
How murderer Charles Manson and President Donald Trump used similar language to gain followers https://t.co/SWNeoff4vY pic.twitter.com/pBPeHLXqAG
— Newsweek (@Newsweek) November 20, 2017
From the deranged article
According to psychoanalyst Mark Smaller, past president of the American Psychoanalytic Association, part of Manson’s power lay in the type of language he used. Notably, Manson was able to speak in a way that engaged those who felt marginalized or alienated.
“A charismatic leader knows how to speak to people in a way that will emotionally engage those people,†Smaller told Newsweek.
Smaller is clear that he does not believe President Donald Trump is similar to the convicted killer, or that their followers have any shared beliefs or characteristics, but he did say we can look to the current president to see how language is used to form a bond with followers.
“Our current president speaks in an emotional or affective way to large numbers of people in our country who feel a kind of alienation or disconnection from the government,†he said. “They feel very responded to and become his political base.â€

It’s like the few writers left at Newsweek got together after Manson finally died (should have been executed decades ago) and said “say, how can we make this about Trump?” and Melissa Matthews went “I’ve got it!”
Yes. Both were known to often use the words "hello" and "it". Clearly peas in a pod.
You guys wonder how he gets away with his accusations of "fake news"?
Its when you put out trash stories like this.
Truly Trump deranged. https://t.co/mQj5pirpvC

Of course, how many people actually read Newsweek? Not a lot.

It Looks Like The U.S. May Never Leave The Paris Climate Accord
Donald Trump may have vowed to take the United States out of the Paris climate accord, but you wouldn’t have known it based on the words of the negotiators he sent to the summit in Bonn to hammer out the rules of the agreement.
climate change joke
“The United States intends to remain engaged with our many partners and allies around the world on these issues, here in the U.N. Framework Convention and everywhere else,†Judith Garber, the U.S. acting assistant secretary of state for international environmental and scientific affairs told the other delegates on Thursday. She then listed off a litany of actions America is taking to fight climate change.
“President Trump has made clear the U.S. position with respect to the Paris Agreement,†she added. “Although he indicated that the United States intends to withdraw at the earliest opportunity, we remain open to the possibility of rejoining at a later date under terms more favorable to the American people.â€
By the end of the summit, many were beginning to suspect that this will not be a question of re-joining. The U.S. may never leave in the first place.
When Donald Trump announced his decision in June, observers noted that out of several options to take the U.S. out of the accord, he chose the one that would take the longest. He could have declared Barack Obama’s decision to not put the agreement to the U.S. Congress (by not deeming it a “treatyâ€) to have been invalid. The Congress could have then rejected the agreement, taking the US out right away.
Instead, the Trump administration chose to go through the official process of withdrawal, which takes more than three years. The ‘earliest opportunity’ referred to by Garber just happens to be the day after the next U.S. presidential election in 2020. In the mean time, the US will continue sending delegates to take their seat at the table, “in order to ensure a level playing field that benefits and protects U.S. interests,†according to a State Department official.
He makes a good point: will this ever happen? Is there any intention to make leaving happen? Or, was this just a campaign promise that, like so many others from politicians, never comes to fruition? Might I have to photoshop Trump’s face into the clown photo above like I’ve done for others?

The same people who want gender confused people (and often fakers who are predators) to share bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers with biological opposite sex children and unhinged
(NY Post) Brooklyn College is kowtowing to cop-hating students by directing officers who need a bathroom break to the broken-down facilities in a building on the far edge of campus.
Amid a planned petition drive to ban cops from the taxpayer-funded campus, Donald Wenz, the school’s director of public safety, told the student newspaper The Excelsior that he’s trying to keep New York’s Finest out of sight.
While Wenz said all of the school’s restrooms were technically open to cops, the college prefers they stick to those in the isolated West End Building, “rather than walking across either quad to use the bathroom.â€
That bathroom is broken, has no towels or soap, and is referred to as “hideous”.
Meanwhile, an unidentified student is drafting a petition to college President Michelle Anderson to completely exile police, according to the Excelsior.
The student told the paper he wants Anderson to make it clear “that we do not want the NYPD on campus in any respect even if it’s just to take breaks and use bathroom.â€
Several students told The Post they and their pals shared the sentiment, with a 21-year-old senior explaining that “people get triggered†by cops.“I know students from every background and across every major,†she said. “They don’t feel comfortable around cops. They just don’t. It makes safe spaces feel not so safe.â€
The NYPD should say “fine. You don’t want us? Have fun when there’s crime. We won’t come.” Of course, in reality, the police will be adults and do their job, regardless of Special Snowflakes (who would whine incessantly if they called the cops and the cops said “you didn’t want us before, so, we aren’t coming”). What the NYPD will probably do is ignore the students and the college, which is a public, taxpayer funded institution, and use whatever bathroom they want, and walk where they want.

Every year we are treated to a raft of articles on surviving Thanksgiving (Christmas ones will come later) due to politics. Many of them attempt to explain how to ruin T-giving with talking points aimed at Explaining Things to your Republican Uncle. Others are about not ruining T-giving. This one from NBC News is the latter, where, apparently, Liberals need someone to explain this whole Acting Like An Adult And Being Civil thing
How to survive Thanksgiving when politics loom large
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a family member with politics you find appalling will say something infuriating at the Thanksgiving table.
We’ve been here before. The first Thanksgiving after the 2016 election was so tense that politically-divided families shortened their turkey dinners by 20-30 minutes last year, one study found.
Pretty much because people could not take the hardcore Progressives/Socialists/Marxists at the gathering anymore. They did not want to listing to Victimhood, Social Justice Warrioring, or Special Snowflaking. Remember, this are people who yelled at the sky on the 1 year date of Trump being elected.
This Thanksgiving — the first after the inauguration of President Trump — people are as dug in as ever, experts say, but instead of pondering just the election results, they now have policies argue about — everything from health care and taxes to immigration.
Perhaps so, but leftists always have their own Talking Points ready in any year, ramping up the discussion to uncomfortable levels on ‘climate change’, bathroom policy, the gender confused, etc. Even on how Evil it is to have all the food on T-giving (though they’ll still eat it).
The No. 1 rule is to avoid talking about politics at the family Thanksgiving gathering — it’s not worth it and you’re not going to change anyone’s mind.
The hosts should set down ground rules, particularly if they know there are family members who are going to spar, Farley said. You can say on the invitation: “Host’s prerogative: I would like to request no political conversation at the party whatsoever — let’s focus on what we’re thankful for.â€
It’s needed because Progressives have no self control to keep it civil. And just shut up when people want to watch football.
DO ALLOW A CONVERSATION ABOUT SEXUAL HARASSMENT
Oh, that’ll go well
A family member may share a #MeToo story, revealing for the first time she was assaulted. Teenagers may ask tough questions about what it means to grope, fondle or expose. The topic is too important to avoid, Klapow said. If it comes up, a calm discussion about respect, and what’s right and wrong, is fine — just be aware there may be children listening. Some conversations should be more private, he advised.
No. Just no.
The article offers other ideas, such as having a designated politics zone, not taking the bait and getting into an argument, having a wingman, using humor to deflect (unfortunately, humor for Liberals is mostly non-existent, except for jokes about assassinating Bush Trump), and taking a breather. Easier yet, do not invited the hardcore Leftists.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: one of the reasons for my conversion from tepid Warmist to climate skeptic was seeing that everything proposed to solve the climate scam crisis was based on hardcore, leftist policies. That the people involved, especially the leaders, were pushing for big Big Government policies of restriction, control, and taxation/fees. Every once in a while, a Warmist lets the cat out of the bag that this is not about science, but politics. Naomi Klein is good for pushing for the end of capitalism (while selling her books for profit, of course), and there are plenty of books like hers. And here we have Benjamin Y. Fong at the NY Times
The Climate Crisis? It’s Capitalism, Stupid
….
However, the cause of the disaster that, by all indications, we are already living through should be clearer. It is not the result of the failure of individuals to adopt the moralizing strictures of “green†consciousness, and it is a sign of just how far we have to go that some still believe reusable shopping bags and composting (perfectly fine in their own right) are ways out of this mess.
We like to pick out Volkswagen’s diesel scandal, but it is only one of many carmakers that “deliberately exploit lax emissions tests.â€Â Nor does the onus fall on the foundering of Social Democratic reforms and international cooperation: Even before the United States backed out of the Paris Accord, we were well on our way to a 7.2 degrees Fahrenheit temperature rise by 2100, “a temperature that at times in the past has meant no ice at either pole.â€
The real culprit of the climate crisis is not any particular form of consumption, production or regulation but rather the very way in which we globally produce, which is for profit rather than for sustainability. So long as this order is in place, the crisis will continue and, given its progressive nature, worsen. This is a hard fact to confront. But averting our eyes from a seemingly intractable problem does not make it any less a problem. It should be stated plainly: It’s capitalism that is at fault.
As an increasing number of environmental groups are emphasizing, it’s systemic change or bust. From a political standpoint, something interesting has occurred here: Climate change has made anticapitalist struggle, for the first time in history, a non-class-based issue.
It’s always interesting that people who have thrived under capitalism and use all its trappings want to take it away from Other People and future generations. Fong yammers on about “eco-apartheid”, those evil Rich people (people living in 3rd world sh*tholes in mud huts with no A/C, cars, electricity, or healthcare would call those living in government housing with TVs, electricity, healthcare, etc, rich), until we get to the notion that some Warmists want Intelligent!!!! people in charge. Au contraire, Fong writes
Put differently, the hope that we can empower intelligent people to positions where they can design the perfect set of regulations, or that we can rely on scientists to take the carbon out of the atmosphere and engineer sources of renewable energy, serves to cover over the simple fact that the work of saving the planet is political, not technical. We have a much better chance of making it past the 22nd century if environmental regulations are designed by a team of people with no formal education in a democratic socialist society than we do if they are made by a team of the most esteemed scientific luminaries in a capitalist society. The intelligence of the brightest people around is no match for the rampant stupidity of capitalism.
Taken altogether, Fong is arguing that dumb people (preferably kept that way by The State) should make the decisions. People who have been pretty much brainwashed by the Cult of Climastrology and their Progressive masters into making RightThink decisions. And hopefully doing away with capitalism in favor of a Statist system of economic control.
