Reporters Press Trump On ‘Climate Change’, An Issue That Doesn’t Drive Most Voters

You might be saying “Teach, if anthropogenic climate change is such a minor, tiny, immaterial issue, why blog so much about it?” Well, I remember asking Ed Morrissey, back when he was known as Captain Ed at Captain’s Quarters, why focus so much on 9/11 Truth. He responded with something like “because you have to beat the nuts back or they gain traction.” Same with ‘climate change.’ The nuts won’t give up, despite being such low hanging fruit

TRUMP GOES HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH REPORTERS ON GLOBAL WARMING

President Donald Trump pushed back on reporters who confronted him with a government report on global warming, saying he knew of “scientists that very much dispute it.”

“Well, I think we’ve contributed, we certainly contribute, I mean, there’s certain pollutants that go up and there’s certain things that happen,” Trump said in an interview with Axios reporters that aired on HBO Sunday night.

Axios reporters thought bringing a copy of the most recent National Climate Assessment (NCA) would make it harder for Trump to question its findings. It didn’t work.

Axios’s Jonathan Swan said scientists “say the overwhelming cause for the last 50 years” is human activity, to which Trump responded, “I don’t necessarily agree.” (snip)

Trump seemed to take a “lukewarmer” stance on global warming during the interview. “Lukewarmers” agree that humans contribute to warming, but that contribution is probably much less than the NCA and many other scientists say it is.

“Is there climate change? Yeah. Will it go back like this, I mean will it change back? Probably,” Trump said. “Man and women, we do have an impact, but I don’t believe the impact is merely what some say and other scientists that dispute those findings very strongly.”

Man-caused global warming/climate change was barely a blip on the radar for most elections this century, and has gotten less so as time goes on. Even Democrats only bring it up as an afterthought, for the most part. Usually while pimping more taxation. Speaking of taxation

Washington State Could Become The First To Charge A Carbon Fee

…..

The initiative has garnered broad support in the more urban, liberal parts of the state. A large coalition of environmental groups, businesses, tribes and social justice organizations say it is the “necessary first step” in fighting climate that will set an example for other states across the nation.

Initiative 1631 places a fee on carbon emissions of $15 dollars per ton that would increase each year by $2 per ton until the state meets its greenhouse gas reduction goals. The fee will generate $2.3 billion during the first five years, which could be used for a broad range of environmental and climate-related projects

So, big city leftists are enthused about it. Wait till they find out it will actually hit them in their own wallets.

Dave Creveling’s family has raised cows in the Methow Valley on the eastern side of the Cascade mountains since just after the civil war.

“Nobody makes any money running cows. It’s just a way of life and that’s the way it’s always been,” Creveling says. His family may be land rich, but Creveling says everyone in the business is cash poor. And that’s where the climate change ballot initiative gets him.

Fossil fuel companies are free to pass the costs of the carbon fee on to customers. According to an independent estimate, the carbon fee would increase gasoline prices by up to 14 cents per gallon per year. Heating, electricity and natural gas prices would also rise.

I actually want them to pass the initiative, so the rest of the country can see just what Cult of Climastrology policies bring about.

Election Day 2018: What Happens? Who Wins?

Everyone has their own two cents on what will maybe possibly happen

(Fox News) It’s finally here.

After hundreds of campaign rallies, billions of dollars in donations, a nonstop blitz of TV advertising and polling that’s been in full swing since summer, Election Day has arrived – and with it, voters’ midterm verdict on whether Republicans should hold or lose their grip on power in Washington.

Democrats have been working toward this day since the moment President Trump was sworn in. They’ve waited two long years for the shot to win enough seats in Congress to cripple the 45th president’s agenda.

In the end, the elections will go one of three ways: Republicans hold both chambers, Democrats take the majority in both, or the parties split the House and Senate. Either of the latter two scenarios would be problematic for Trump, immediately putting a damper on his agenda.

By the numbers, 35 Senate seats, 36 gubernatorial seats and 435 House seats are up for grabs on Tuesday. And the biggest names in both parties say the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Well, really, we hear this every single election. Every two years we’re now hearing that this is the most important election of our lives.

Democrats need a net pickup of 23 seats to take control of the House, where they promise endless investigations which Trump will blast while also telling them to go pound sand. Prediction: Democrats pick up 20 seats and complain a lot about voter fraud, Republicans/Trump stealing the election, and Russian interference.

In the Senate, Democrats only need two seats for majority. Prediction: GOP picks up 4 seats.

For those 36 governorships, we’ll see what the people of those states think of a roaring economy that keeps getting better. And that’s where a lot of voters are going: the economy. They saw the malaise during the Obama years, and how it started pumping the minute Trump came in. Who gets out the vote the most? And how many Democrats #WalkAway? Democrats have been working hard to see who can go the furthest left. If Democrats do not get the Blue wave, they are going to be very blue, and there will be major, major meltdowns.

Thoughts?

French Citizens Aren’t Particularly Happy To Be The Ones To Pay For ‘Climate Change’ Initiatives

Remember this oldy but goody about Obamacare?

“Of course, I want people to have health care,” Vinson said. “I just didn’t realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally.”

Same thing happens with Hotcoldwetdry stuff. People are more than happy when it is Someone Else paying the price. Not so much when it’s themselves

Macron refuses to back down on French fuel tax as protests loom

French President Emmanuel Macron said he would not back down from a hike in fuel tax, despite plans for nationwide protests this month and his personal popularity reaching a new low.

Drivers are planning blockades and go-slows across France on Nov. 17 to protest against higher fuel prices, which have increased by up to a third in the past year, making Macron’s claim to help hard-working people harder to defend.

In a bid to fight climate change, his government has voted increases in a carbon tax and decided in particular to ramp up the price of diesel, the most commonly used car fuel in France.

But the increases, decided in late 2017 at a time crude oil prices were hovering under $50 per barrel, have become more painful for consumers after oil surged to over $85 last month. The issue has helped drive Macron’s popularity to as low as 21 percent in a poll published last week.

The president, who has launched a seven-day tour of northeastern France, said he has no plan to back down.

“I prefer taxing fuel to taxing labor. People complaining about rising fuel prices are the same ones who complain about pollution and how their children suffer,” he told regional newspapers in the area, in an interview published on Monday.

I’m guessing Macron will be taking a bicycle or walking or something to the UN IPCC in Poland this year, right? It does go to show that even the very leftist French people have their limits on what they’re willing to pay for their own beliefs.

ZOMG: Republican Said “Cotton Pickin'” During Georgia Rally!!!!!!

This has sent Politico’s uber-pasty white Matt Dixon into apoplexy on behalf of black people who most likely use the phrase themselves if they live in the South rather than screaming F bombs at people

At DeSantis rally, Perdue says Florida governor’s race ‘so cotton-pickin’ important’

During a Saturday rally for Florida Republican gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis, President Donald Trump’s top agriculture official used the term “cotton-pickin’” to describe the importance of Florida’s gubernatorial race, which also features Democrat Andrew Gillum, who is running to be Florida’s first black governor.

“Public policy matters. Leadership matters,” said Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue said at a Lakeland rally, according to audio provided by American Bridge. “And that is why this election is so cotton-pickin’ important to the state of Florida. I hope you all don’t mess it up.”

Perdue is a former governor of Georgia. (snip)

From the start of the general election, race has played a dominating factor in Florida’s nationally-watched governor‘s race. The day after the Aug. 28 primary election, on a different Fox show, DeSantis called Gillum “articulate” and said voters shouldn’t “monkey this up” by electing him. Like Bossie, DeSantis was rebuked on air by a Fox News personality, but the former three-term congressman, who is white, refused to apologize because he said he did nothing wrong and his comment was not about race.

In Liberal World, and in the Leftist media, everything is raaaaacist. But, sometimes a phrase is just a phrase, and some people use them rather than blurting out curse words. These big liberal city elitists need to get out of their comfort zone and talk to real people, rather than just staying in their bubbles. And stop taking Offense at everything. Sure, the phrase has roots in cotton picking, which involved slaves. But, not all who were involved with picking cotton were slaves. Even Bugs Bunny used to say it a lot, as did others in the cartoons.

Since You Ate Lots Of Ice Cream This Summer, Rat Populations Could Explode Or Something

Seriously, all that ice cream required lots of moo cows producing milk. Then all the sugar and flavorings which all had to be trucked in by fossil fueled vehicles, churned, then put in some sort of container, then shipped to the stores in trucks that used evil for climate change refrigerants, then you drove your fossil fueled vehicle to the store to purchase. How evil are you? You could be causing the Ratpocalypse

RATPOCALYPSE: CLIMATE CHANGE COULD MEAN AN IMMINENT RAT POPULATION EXPLOSION, SCIENTISTS SAY

Scientists are warning that rising temperatures caused by climate change will turn cities worldwide into ideal rat breeding grounds.

Several U.S. cities including New York, Chicago, and Boston pump millions of dollars each year into their respective battles against a rat population explosion. But scientists predict that a global warming of “2 degrees” Celsius, or 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit, will occur across the globe by the end of this century. This increase of warmer winters and hotter summers provides the most fertile breeding ground for rats to reproduce at staggering rates.

Bobby Corrigan, a “rat czar” from Cornell University, explained to several news outlets last year that the rodents have a gestation period of 14 days. And as Bloomberg noted this week, rat babies can start reproducing after just one month of life, meaning one pregnant rat can lead to 15,000 to 18,000 new rats in under one year. (snip)

“In some places we’re looking at a tenfold increase in the rodent population,” said Dr. Graeme Elliott, in an interview with The Guardian. The newspaper used a blaring headline warning of a coming “ratpocalypse.”

First of all, it’s interesting that Democrat run big cities full of ‘climate change’ Believers are one of the best breeding grounds for rats, eh? Second, in reality, when there is tons of waste and garbage rats will appear. How many rats show up and then breed when Democrat backed unions for the garbage collectors go on strike and leave garbage to build up in the streets?

To blame this all on a tiny increase in the average global temperatures is absurd. Remember, there was a massive increase in the rat population back during the cooling period known as the Little Ice Age, bringing tons of fleas carrying the Bubonic Plague, otherwise known as the Black Death. It’s thought that 75 million people in Europe and Asia died.

This is just another case of members of the Cult of Climastrology attempting to scare people. Eric Worrall notes

One question Faye – why hasn’t this overwhelming rat explosion you say will happen in New York, Philadelphia and Boston already happened in southern states?

Why isn’t the tropical region where I live utterly overrun by rats?

There are reasons for that. Such as limited predators in those Northern elite areas. Oh, hey, maybe Warmists will tell is it’s too hot for the rats in the South and such now!

NY Democrats Look At Checking Social Media And Internet Searches For All Gun Purchases

As Voros McCracken notes, this violates Amendments “1, 2, 4, maybe 5, and certainly 14. That’s pretty impressive” (via Twitchy)

Perhaps we should have a referendum on changing the NY State Constitution which would require the same searches for elected office and those who want to be hired for government work in NY. From the link

Two New York lawmakers are working to draft a bill that would propose a social media check before a gun purchase.

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and state Sen. Kevin Palmer’s proposal would allow authorities to review three years of social media history and one year of internet search history of any person seeking to purchase a firearm.

“A three-year review of a social media profile would give an easy profile of a person who is not suitable to hold and possess a fire arm,” Adams explains.

The two are hoping to identify any hate speech on social media profiles, which are often revealed only after someone is arrested in a mass shooting.

This would violate a large number of NY state laws, much less their own Constitution, which has similar provisions to the federal Constitution, and, as stated, violate numerous provisions of the federal Constitution. Democrats who wanted to essentially protect Islamic jihadis constantly paraphrased the Ben Franklin saying, writing “those who would give up temporary freedom for security will get neither” are now super enthused to give Government and it’s various whims by temporary elected residents the ability to define hate speech and empower government authorities to search people’s information without a warrant based on criminal activity.

The NY State Constitution specifically states in Article I Section 8 “Every citizen may freely speak, write and publish his or her sentiments on all subjects, being responsible for the abuse of that right; and no law shall be passed to restrain or abridge the liberty of speech or of the press.” Think these Democrats trying to pass this anti-gun law care?

Interestingly, that Ben Franklin saying is also being applied to the government spying on U.S. citizens. Which is what this would be. Along with a measure meant to discourage people from even applying for a gun purchase license, and a way of denying as many as many citizens their 2nd Amendment Rights they can get away with.

Bummer: Schwarzenegger Says Warmists Doing Terrible Job Of Selling Their Cult, Er, Concerns

Why do we have to sell scientific truth in the first place? If the science was sound people could look and say “huh, I get it.”

Schwarzenegger to CNN’s Axelrod: Environmentalists doing a terrible job selling climate change concerns

Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger slammed environmentalists for failing to “sell” concerns about climate change to the American people, and argued that individual states like California “cannot rely on the federal government” for environmental protections.

Schwarzenegger made the comments on “The Axe Files,” hosted by former Obama campaign chief strategist David Axelrod. The program originally launched as a podcast in 2015 that CNN turned into a weekly Saturday program in May 2017.

The “True Lies” and “Terminator” said environmentalists are not making the argument on the dangers of climate change in a way that resonates with the American people.

“Environmentalists have done a terrible job in selling this,” Schwarzenegger said. “Because the more they talk about global climate change, which no one understands what that is, they talk about what’s going to happen 20 years from now, and the sea level rising and the polar bear and all of these kind of things.”

“No one cares about that when you want to have a job and you want to bring food on the table today,” he continued. “But what people care about is if you say, ‘This is going to cause cancer. This is going to make your child have asthma early on.'”

“And as soon as they hear the health aspect of it, because that’s how we sold it to the people in California, this is the difference, it has to be sold the right way.”

First, they never really sold it to California’s, they simply passed legislation and told citizens to deal with it. Beyond that, Arnie is saying that what the Warmists have been doing is what he advocates: pimping the doom and gloom of something that may or may not happen based on something that may or may not be scientifically sound which relies upon politicized and manufactured data. All to scare people into giving up their money and freedom by elites who already have theirs and refuse to give it up.

“It’s crazy because we are polluting the world and it’s not just about global climate change, but it is the amount of people that it kills every day all over the world. Every year, seven million people die because of pollution, so if the responsibility of government is to protect people, then why would I let that happen?” he concluded.

Name one person who died from the atmospheric content of carbon dioxide.

Schwarzenegger was referring to a May 2018 report from the World Health Organization based on 2016 data that an estimated 7 million people face a premature death each year due to air pollution.

Said report was about real air pollution, not a trace gas necessary for life on Earth. But, Arnold has mixed his talking points to make it appear as if CO2 was the cause.
