Julián Castro unveils climate plan centered on Green New Deal principles

Democratic presidential candidate Julián Castro on Tuesday began rolling out his campaign’s $10 trillion plan to address climate change, an initiative that aims to have all electricity in the U.S. be clean and renewable by 2035.

In a statement, the former mayor of San Antonio said his proposal centers on principles of the Green New Deal, an ambitious and controversial plan spearheaded by U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-New York. Over the course of the next decade, Castro is calling for “immediate and significant” reduction in greenhouse gas emissions until the country achieves net-zero emissions by 2045 at the latest.

“Right now, the climate crisis is already devastating our communities, our homes, and our families,” Castro said in a statement. “Severe storms, deadly hurricanes, massive floods, extreme droughts, and wildfires are now a normal occurrence, destroying homes and businesses, and shrinking our economy.”

If elected, he said his first executive action will be to rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement that President Donald Trump withdrew the country from in 2017. Over the next decade, Castro is calling for significantly reducing carbon emissions by transitioning off of fossil fuels to clean energy.

So, not much different than all the other Democrat contenders traveling all over the nation in fossil fueled vehicles and on fossil fueled airplanes.

During his first 100 days in office, Castro said he would propose legislation to address and dismantle structures of environmental racism, a type of discrimination where communities of color and low-income communities are forced to live in close proximity to environmentally hazardous or degraded environments, such as hazardous waste sites or pollution. To that end, Castro said he’d propose new civil rights bills like requiring all federal actions be reviewed for environmental and health impacts on low-income and marginalized communities.

So, it’s really more about the SJW stuff. Surprise!

But his plan carries a significant price tag, directing $10 trillion over the next decade to “create ten million good paying jobs, transition away from fossil fuels, build a 100% clean-energy economy and establish a National Climate Council.” Castro said the money would come from federal, state, local and private investments.

Like all the rest, how much of this is just patronizing the unhinged climate cultist base?

Gail Bradbrook, co-founder of the Extinction Rebellion political movement, has called for the mass ingestion of psychedelics to protest the criminalization of drugs.

“I would support a mass civil disobedience where we take medicine to tell the state that they have absolutely no right to control our consciousness and to define our spiritual practice,” said Bradbrook during Breaking Convention, a psychedelics conference that was recently held in London…

Bradbrook emphasized that Extinction Rebellion isn’t in the business of promoting psychedelic drug use, but she has previously expressed that psychedelics were a powerful motivator for her to form the social movement. In an article she wrote for the journal Emerge, Bradbrook said “people on psychedelics report a deeply felt sense of peace, oneness and unity with the planet which has been shown to have a profound and enduring effect on the way they live their lives.”

One of the co-founders of Extinction Rebellion has revealed she began the movement after taking ‘psychedelic medicines’ – just days following the shutdown of central Manchester by climate protesters.

Gail Bradbrook, 47, a molecular biologist, said she ‘prayed in a deep way’ while taking the substances on a retreat.

She told a BBC Inside Out West documentary that her prayer was answered within a month, with Extinction Rebellion formed last year.

Ms Bradbrook said: ‘I’ve always been interested in how things change, in social change,’ she told the documentary.

‘I was involved in the animal rights movement as a young woman, I’ve been involved in thinking about gender and issues around racism and so on.

‘I’d been focused on trying to start civil disobedience since 2010 and I’ve tried many things and they didn’t work, so I went on a retreat and prayed in a deep way with some psychedelic medicines.

I won’t be a hypocrite and slam her for taking the drugs (they aren’t medicines), as I’ve done plenty myself when younger, purple microdots, blotters (both contain LSD), and tried peyote once (throwing up is not fun). But, then, I haven’t done that since I was maybe 20. And I haven’t touched marijuana in 20 years (again, I do not care if people smoke it, I just started finding it boring and didn’t make me feel good). Here’s a woman taking hardcore drugs in her late thirties, and, really, was simply looking for a way to cause problems.

Because, notice, that’s all she was looking to do. And that quote in red very much shows that she didn’t really care what it was. Makes one wonder how much she really cares about Hotcoldwetdry, and how much of this is just trying to create civil disobedience.

Mayor Pete Releases His Own Trillion Dollar Hotcoldwetdry Plan

It saves almost $15 trillion over Comrade Bernie’s plan, but, also seems to have little to do with ‘climate change’

Pete Buttigieg unveils $1.1 trillion climate change plan that would aim to create 3 million clean energy jobs

Democratic presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg unveiled a $1.1 trillion climate change plan Wednesday morning, with a goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050 and creating over 3 million clean energy and infrastructure jobs in the next decade.

The South Bend, Indiana, mayor’s plan contains three pillars:

  1. building a clean economy, comprised of clean energy jobs, strong rural communities, and protection of natural resources
  2. investing in disaster relief and prevention in vulnerable communities
  3. building America’s role on the international stage in combating climate change.

The climate proposal includes a $200 billion investment over 10 years in clean energy research and development, the creation of a $250 billion Clean Energy Bank to finance innovative technologies, a $250 billion fund matched with $250 billion in private investment with American companies to lead development of green technologies and a $50 billion seed fund for riskier and experimental ideas.

Buttigieg is polling at 4.7% behind rivals Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris, according to a RealClearPolitics average. He released his plan ahead of Wednesday night’s “Climate Crisis” town hall, where candidates will each have 40 minutes to explain their climate policies in front of a live audience. Buttigieg is scheduled to be interviewed on his proposal at 10 p.m.

It almost looks like Mayor Pete’s advisors said “you gotta have something, anything, to satisfy the climate cultists”, so they whipped something together just to have something. He doesn’t even deserve his own climate clown graphic yet.

Buttigieg, the only millennial candidate in the presidential race, has also called for the creation of a “U.S. Climate Corps” open to high school graduates dedicated to educating communities and rebuilding infrastructure to make it more resilient to the effects of climate change.

Yay, indoctrination!

What the CNBC article forgot to mention is that Mayor Pete wants to turn the U.S. military into the fighting part of the “Climate Corps”

(CNN) In a new policy proposal released Wednesday morning ahead of a 10-candidate CNN town hall focused on the issue, Buttigieg calls for a Climate Mission Control set up under the Department of Defense, which his campaign said would put the crisis front and center and make it an urgent priority. The plan also creates a new senior climate security role within the department.

The whole thing is rather silly, you get the whole “climate justice”, instituting policies and taxes which make people more reliant on government, and so forth. Just at a lower price tag.

Excitable San Francisco Board Of Supervisors Declares 5 Million Americans Terrorists For Being NRA Members

This is the same city which has no problem with their massive homeless problem, which leads to poop in the street, used drug needles, and citizens getting abused, harassed, and being robbed. And, tolerates, even extols, groups that despise the U.S., support Islamic terrorism, especially against Israel, as well as the super-violent Antifa.

The city of San Francisco has formally adopted a resolution calling the National Rifle Association a domestic terrorist organization.

San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors on Tuesday took the step of officially declaring the nation’s premier gun-ownership advocates a terrorist organization.

District 2 Supervisor Catherine Stefani wrote the scathing declaration reading in part, “the National Rifle Association spreads propaganda that misinforms and aims to deceive the public about the dangers of gun violence.”

She continued, “The NRA exists to spread dis-information, and knowingly puts guns into the hands of those who would harm and terrorize us,” said Stefani, whose district includes the Marina and Presidio.

“The NRA has it coming to them, and I will do everything that I possibly can to call them out on what they are, which is a domestic terrorist organization,” said Stefani.

In fact, Stefani wrote the declaration following the July mass shooting at the Gilroy Garlic Festival.

Interestingly, one thing you never hear is that these mass shooters is that they are actual members of the NRA. Also, why are they not mentioning that one of the biggest sites on city crime (for those looking to move their or move around in the city), Neighborhood Scout, has San Fran as a 2, meaning that it is safer than 2% of U.S. cities? Violent crime is well above the California median, and almost double the U.S. median. Murder and rape occurrences are at U.S. median, but assault is above, and robbery is almost three times the rate.

U.S. property crime is 24. California is 24.97. Property crime in San Francisco is 62.48. San Francisco has to spend enormous amounts of money to keep the crime confined to certain areas, especially when the car theft problem was skyrocketing.

But, really, they aren’t that worried, nor about the illegal aliens committing crime against U.S. citizens. Nor do they care about leftists wearing masks to hide from being identified while being violent during demonstrations.

Now, by declaring the NRA, and its members, domestic terrorists, they are violating the Constitutional, both Federal (1st) and California (Article 1). This denies free speech, the ability to protest peaceably, and petition for redress of grievance. Here’s California’s version

SECTION 1. All people are by nature free and independent and have inalienable rights. Among these are enjoying and defending life and liberty, acquiring, possessing, and protecting property, and pursuing and obtaining safety, happiness, and privacy.

SEC. 2. (a) Every person may freely speak, write and publish his or her sentiments on all subjects, being responsible for the abuse of this right. A law may not restrain or abridge liberty of speech or press.

SEC. 3. (a) The people have the right to instruct their representatives, petition government for redress of grievances, and assemble freely to consult for the common good.

Notice that people should have the ability to defend themselves and their property, to go with free speech, redress of grievance, and, heck, it doesn’t even say peaceful assembly, like in the federal 1st. It says assemble freely.

Essentially, they aren’t just calling the NRA, which is driven by its members, terrorists, but every law abiding citizen who owns a gun.

Brave Sir Cory Booker Releases His Own $3 Trillion Hotcoldwetdry Plan

In terms of cost, it is not as bad as others, but, we all know that the cost would skyrocket when implemented, and, further, it would skyrocket the cost of living for citizens. And Spartacus Booker is happy to take lots of fossil fueled trips to tell us about it

U.S. presidential candidate Booker proposes $3 trillion climate change plan

U.S. presidential hopeful Cory Booker unveiled a $3 trillion plan to address climate change on Tuesday, vowing to reach a 100% clean energy economy by 2045 by sharply curbing fossil fuels while investing heavily in renewable energy sources.

The plan also calls for a new White House-coordinated “Environmental Justice Fund” that would focus on defending at-risk communities from environmental threats, including a nationwide lead remediation program to replace all lead water pipes for schools and residences.

Booker’s home of Newark, New Jersey, where he served as mayor for seven years, has been grappling with lead contamination in its water supply in recent weeks.

“We are facing a dual crisis of climate change and economic inequality,” Booker said. “Without immediate action, we risk an incredible human toll from disasters, health impacts, rising national security threats, and trillions of dollars in economic losses.”

What does lead contamination have to do with climate change, whether natural, man-caused, or some sort of combination? It’s certainly a man-caused issue, but nothing to do with the climate. Pretty much because the Cult of Climastrology places every single issue under its banner, which is how you get “environmental justice” garbage.

Booker said he would impose a carbon tax on natural gas, coal and oil producers and return some of the revenue to Americans via a monthly dividend, though his campaign did not offer specific figures. Several lawmakers from both parties have introduced versions of a fee-and-dividend system in Congress, though none of the bills appear likely to pass.

So, he’ll cause your energy costs to skyrocket, causing your cost of living to skyrocket. And then he’ll give you some money back, making you reliant and subservient to Government.

The proposal includes several executive actions that Booker would take as president, including barring new offshore and onshore fossil fuel leases, requiring all new passenger vehicles be zero emission starting in 2030 and requiring fossil fuel companies to stop all methane leaks.

Even a Tesla isn’t zero emissions. A lot are created to manufacture them. But, if Booker makes this happen, vehicles would be too expensive for most people to afford. Have fun taking the family on a trip to the beach on the bus. Not that you’ll have any money to do that. And that’s not even counting that these actions would be un-Constitutional, but, hey, what’s a pesky old document in the face of Doom?

Technology has long paved the way for a future filled with robot-derived pleasure. As the world advances, so does a plethora of emerging technologies that are harbingers of robot-enhanced good times to come.

This year, for its fifth anniversary, SC-Club in the French city of Nantes has come up with a rather extravagant way to celebrate — a joint robot-human stripper show.

These machines with CCTV heads grind and gyrate around a pole with moves mimicking a stripper. Some might find these pieces of gyrating plastic and metal “very sexy”. Well, to each his own.

Yup, that’s rather uncomfortable to consider.

But, wait, there’s actually more to this

They had been conceptualised a decade ago as an uncomfortable commentary on the pervasiveness of surveillance — thus why the inclusion of a CCTV camera as their heads. Concurrently, the concept also gives rise to the question of “who has the power between the voyeur and the observed person”.

‘Climate Change’ Is Environmental Racism Or Something

Climate change is environmental racism. A Green New Deal is the only way to fight it

This summer has seen the UK swelter under some of the hottest days on record.

While much of the media irresponsibly framed this heatwave as a good thing, for the rest of us, it rang loud alarm bells of an imminent environmental emergency. These extreme temperatures leave people not only uncomfortable but they can also lead to death, especially amongst the elderly. For rural communities in particular, the impacts of scorching heat which dries out the land, followed by flash flooding, can destroy livelihoods.

So, pretty much what has always happened? Especially during a Holocene warm period? Oh, right, right, this time it’s all Your Fault. Don’t ask why, the science is already settled, no need to show proof.

Climate change doesn’t affect us all equally, with those in the Global South being far more ‘climate vulnerable’ to soaring temperatures which result in an increased prevalence of droughts and therefore famine and migration. However the Global North – which is primarily to blame for the climate crisis that we are in – is only just seeing the impact of this emergency.

Environmental disparities are real; for many years, the Western world has steamed ahead with plans for aviation expansion, more road-building, dirty energy such as fracking, as well as an insatiable appetite for environmentally damaging foods – ignoring the impact all of these have on developing communities. Meanwhile, inner city communities with higher numbers of ethnic minorities in Europe and The United States tend to have to deal with environmental threats which more prosperous sectors of society don’t. In my region of the South East of England, there are big pockets of deprivation: 25.5% of children in Crawley are living below the poverty line and have to live in the polluting shadow of Gatwick airport.

Outside of Europe, climate change is responsible for extreme weather events like Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and Cyclone Idai in Zimbabwe which obliterate homes, destroy livelihoods and kill people.

You know, it is interesting that those who pimp the “climate crisis” seem to have rather low opinions of people in 2nd and 3rd world countries, eh? Seems rather, what’s the word? Racist? Bigoted? Green Supremacist?

A Green New Deal for Europe, however, does offer a solution.

‘The Green New Deal for Europe is the first attempt at a political response to climate change that is on the same scale as the problem itself,’ says environmentalist and global warming expert, Bill McKibben.(snip)

A Green New Deal carries so many possibilities to make society fairer around the world. It promises better paid jobs, cleaner air and more accountability from richer nations who have got away with so much up until now. Economically, socially and environmentally, we finally have a positive and practical solution to a problem that up until now has seemed overwhelming.

This climate emergency affects us all – but it’s up to us to ensure that the Global South doesn’t continue to take the biggest hit.

Funny how these climate cultists refuse to give up their own money and modern lifestyles.

Biden And Buttigieg Refuse To Compromise On Gun Banning

Even though the policies will only harm law abiding citizens, they’re gung ho to make it happen

Biden, Buttigieg say no compromises on overhauling gun laws

Democratic presidential candidates Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg, moderates who project themselves as pragmatic collaborators, are taking a no-compromise approach on the overhaul of the nation’s gun laws after the latest mass shooting.

Campaigning separately in eastern Iowa on Monday, the former vice president and the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, say the minimum provisions include universal background checks, a ban on military-style weapons and high-capacity ammunition, and red flag laws to allow officials to confiscate firearms from dangerous people.

Biden told reporters before a Labor Day picnic in Cedar Rapids that inaction from President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans is “disgraceful.” Asked if there’s room for negotiation, he declared: “None. This is one we have to just push and push and push and push and push.” Buttigieg also rejected compromise, saying after a campaign event in Cedar Rapids: “There is just no good faith in the congressional GOP nor, I believe, in the White House when it comes to dealing with this issue.”

Their comments come two days after a gunman toting an assault-style rifle went on a rampage in Odessa, Texas, killing seven people around town before being gunned down by police. The FBI said the shooter “was on a long spiral of going down.” This shooting occurred less than a month after two other high-profile mass shootings, in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio.

Would any of those laws stopped the nutter? We do not have much info yet (which is rather strange), but, it appears he passed a background check, so, enhanced checks would make no difference. No one has said he would have been a candidate for red flags. Not sure what high capacity ammunition is, I assume they mean magazines. They can be built, bought illegally, or, a competent firearms user can switch out a 10 round mag quickly enough as to make little difference. Ban “military style weapons”? Automatics are already banned. If they mean “scary looking rifles” (manufactures should have them come in bright, cheery colors), you can do as much damage with standard rifles.

They both pointed to public opinion polls are a reason for their uncompromising approach. According to national public opinion polls for the past several years, large majorities of Americans support requiring background checks for all gun buyers. Majorities, though smaller, also support banning the sale of military-style weapons such as the AR-15.

“Look, you can either defy the American people or you can defy the NRA,” Buttigieg said. “You have a choice.”

Except, that’s not the way it works in a Republic, where there are established laws and Rights virtually impossible to take away in order to stop the tyranny of the majority.

Good luck with that, Beto dude. And that is exactly why 2nd Amendment supporters refuse to compromise, refuse to allow any of these new laws, because we know the end game. Universal background checks require a gun database, making it easier to take people’s guns by force. Look at New Zealand

So far, owners have turned in more than 15,000 newly banned guns as well as 64,000 parts and accessories. In return, the government has handed them 32 million New Zealand dollars ($20 million). But nobody has a clear target for the program because authorities haven’t kept track of the number of guns in the country.

Tentative estimates put the total number of guns in New Zealand at about 1.5 million and the number of weapons that are now banned at up to 175,000. If those numbers are correct, it would mean less than 10% of the banned weapons have been handed in so far. Owners have until Dec. 20 to turn them over or potentially face charges.

No database, so, The Authorities do not know who has what. And we’ll see what is turned in by December 20. Further, remember that they didn’t just ban “assault rifles”, but most semi-automatics. Like hunting rifles and pistols. And this, like the Democrat’s policies, primarily cause harm to the law abiding. Criminals will still keep their firearms.
