You’ll never believe who tops the list of Trump running mates in a new swing state poll
The politician who tops the list of preferred running mates for former President Donald Trump in a new poll in a key Northeastern swing state is not even a Republican.
Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, who ran for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination but left her party two years later to become an independent, stands atop the list in a new University of New Hampshire Survey Center poll.
Nearly a quarter (24%) of voters who indicated they are not supporting President Biden in New Hampshire named Gabbard when asked their preference for whom Trump should choose as his running mate. (snip)
Gabbard, an officer in the Hawaii National Guard, is a veteran of the Iraq War. She made history as the first Samoan-American elected to Congress. She was once a member of the progressive wing of the Democratic Party and endorsed Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination.
She mounted a long-shot White House bid of her own in 2020. But since leaving the Democratic Party, she has started appealing to conservatives.
At a Fox News town hall in South Carolina in February ahead of that state’s GOP presidential primary, Trump indicated that at least a half dozen contenders — including Gabbard — were on his short list for running mate.
Is New Hampshire really a swing state? I’m doubting it, but, hey, you never know. Regardless, would Republicans stand for Gabbard? She seems like a nice person, she’s stood up to the moonbats in the Democratic Party, and certainly does seem to have a real love of America, unlike so many Democrats. However, she is still left of center, and big supporter of abortion, spending, taxing, and many Democratic initiatives.
But, what if picking her was a good thing electorally? What if bringing her on as his VP pick could make darned sure that Trump gets 270 electoral votes? At the end of the day, it’s about winning. And beating Biden right now is huge. Can the U.S. take another four years of Biden and his policies?
Mrs Williams is very attractive, and was the least objectionable Democrat who ran in 2020, but I just can’t see it. She has a libertarian streak — to match the streak in her hair? — that appeals to conservatives, but she still supports most currently Democratic policies. She is not Christian, but Hindi, and that will also turn off some conservative voters.
Tulsi would be my choice for the SEC of state or possibly DEFENSE. But she is almost as much hated by the left as Donald Trump simply because she points a finger at them. Hell Mitt Romney accused her of Treason on the Senate Floor. With no evidence other than she was running against anyone who might OUST Trump in the 2020 election. So she is not favored by the GOP.
Remember the GOP does not equate to MAGA. The GOP means Get OFF PEASANTS! It means we only stand up for Boeing, Exxon, and Lockheed Martin. Certainly not these little jerks that vote for us.
I like Tulsi. Always have. (Ideally she will be Trumps Chief of Staff) She is definitely positioning herself for a 2024 position within the Trump Admin, but she will have very little support among the GOP and she will be back stabbed at every turn by GOP’hers she hires for staff who take money and marching orders from the DEEP STATE that the GOP endorses and supports every bit as much as does the Democratic side of the AISLE.
Gabbard is a political opportunist. Nothing unique there.
She endorsed Bernie Sanders (I-VT) for President in 2016. Sanders is Democratic Socialist!!
She endorsed Joe Biden for President in 2020.
Gabbard met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, giving that murderous strongman a forum for spouting he didn’t use chemical weapons.
Gabbard left the Democratic Party in 2022, purportedly because the Dems were not sufficiently aggressive against radical Islam and because of too much WOKE. Yeah, right.
She was a military “hawk”, but now? Who knows. The nuGOP wants to withdraw from the rest of the world.
In fact, there’s a market on the right for defecting Dems. They can get rich on FOX. They can sell books to the united Reich. Gabbard is young (43) so is looking to find a place in politics where she could advance, and the Democratic Party didn’t seem to be the place, so she changed her “beliefs” to fit the nuGOP.
Tulsi is not a Christian, but a Hindu. She did NOT swear her oath of office on the Christian Bible but used the Bhagavad Gita!!
All that said, I actually support Gabbard, but if she believes Trump is an answer she’s an idiot.

The chances that Trump (or Biden) will live to 2029 are less than 50:50, so the choice for VP is important.

Thinking ahead, she DID vote PRESENT on the 2019 impeachment of Trump.

Growing up in a poor, racially mixed area, I never really understood racial bigotry.
A fetus becomes a person at birth. That doesn’t mean we moral and ethical humans cannot put protections is place for a fetus. Roe v Wade did just that, letting the states decide what protections they could place on a fetus that was viable outside the womb, after ~ 24-28 wks gestation.
