Trump Wants Raid Affidavit Released, DOJ Is 100% Against Idea

Is Trump winging it here, or, does he have an idea what’s in the affidavit?

Former President Trump gives first interview since FBI’s Mar-a-Lago raid, vows to ‘help country’

Former President Trump called for the immediate release of the “completely unredacted” Mar-a-Lago affidavit in a late night post on Truth Social.

Trump said the move would be in the interest of “TRANSPARENCY.”

“There is no way to justify the unannounced RAID of Mar-a-Lago, the home of the 45th President of the United States (who got more votes, by far, than any sitting President in the history of our Country!), by a very large number of gun toting FBI Agents, and the Department of ‘Justice,'” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “But, in the interest of TRANSPARENCY, I call for the immediate release of the completely Unredacted Affidavit pertaining to this horrible and shocking BREAK-IN.”

Trump also called for the judge on the case to be recused from the case.

It would be very interesting to see the affidavit, because so many of the investigations into Trump and his people, happening since 2016, were based on false/manufactured/ginned up information, starting with the whole Russia Russia Russia investigation. Crossfire Hurricane. The pee tapes. Spying on a presidential candidate. Abuse of targets. And so much more

Trump’s post comes after the Justice Department filed a motion opposing the release of the affidavit that was used to justify the search of Mar-a-Lago.

“If disclosed, the affidavit would serve as a roadmap to the government’s ongoing investigation, providing specific details about its direction and likely course, in a manner that is highly likely to compromise future investigative steps,” the 13-page filing says.

“The fact that this investigation implicates highly classified materials further underscores the need to protect the integrity of the investigation and exacerbates the potential for harm if information is disclosed to the public prematurely or improperly.”

Wait, I thought the news and Democrats were saying that it didn’t really involve classified documents? Regardless, there had been negotiations for months, Trump had declassified most, if not all, as he can do when being president, and Team Trump had been cooperating. This wasn’t done for Obama’s 30k documents. This is continuing to look like a partisan fishing expedition. Heck, a couple of agents could have shown up with a warrant to look at the material, all nice and quiet, not a pre-dawn raid with lots and lots of agents to be shown on the Trump hating Credentialed media outlets. If this was against, say, Obama, the NY Times, among others, would be running furious opinion pieces, not a “straight news” article trying to defend the DOJ.

Many are thinking this has to do with the FBI and DOJ protecting themselves, along with previous employees, and Hillary Clinton

The increasingly panicked trump is slinging scheisse against the wall to 1) confuse the people and to 2) energize his base, much like on Jan 6. He is, after all, an anarchist.

Objectives are for trump to uncover 1) the internal informant and 2) the investigative strategy. No doubt, President Putin agrees with trump.

When republicans reveal their intentions, we should pay attention.

    • drowningpuppies says:

On the contrary, President Trump doesn’t appear to be panicked at all. He knows what those documents contain.

It’s Garland and the DOJ who seem leery of public disclosure.

  2. drowningpuppies says:

The feds have a problem in playing this close to the vest — this is not just any raid. Harvard Law Prof. Jack Goldsmith notes that Merrick Garland appears unprepared for the implications of what he has unleashed:

“He is, after all, an anarchist.”

First you had him pegged as a communist collaborator and butt buddy of Putin’s. When that bullshit went down in flames you decided he was in cahoots with the Red Chinks. But that blew up too. Then you all decided he was a White supremacist because he didn’t kneel down in African garb to worship at the feet of the feral negroes who control the democrat party. But since he’s never done anything racist in his life that bullshit story blew up. Now it seems since he is demanding his constitutional rights to lawful search and seizure, lawyer/client confidentiality, and identified out loud in public that our feds are out of control and waging political war against their competition you have determined that you signify he is now an anarchist.

You leftists have been arresting, trying, jailing and in Ashly Babbitt’s case murdering political rivals since your illegal coup of Nov 4, 2020 where the election suddenly and inexplicably swung pedo joe’s way at 2am. Now you want to perp walk the ex pres because you’re scared to death he’ll run and win in 2024. And you’re hiring 87,000 IRS agents and arming them to the teeth just to let us non leftists know if we say or do a non approved thing you’re coming for us.

You are creating a fucking POLICE STATE AND YOU DENY IT!!!!!! We see what you’re doing and if you keep going we will rise up.

You’re so full of shit you’ve convinced yourselves that me most heavily armed citizenry in the world decided to have an “insurrection” and forgot to bring their guns???? You are wilfully blind after years of propaganda and conditioning. Your hate has replaced any reason you ever had. If you ever had any.

    F the Pedo!

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Putin is not a communist, nor is Russia a communist nation, silly. And yes, trump’s campaign collaborated with Russian intelligence during the 2016 campaign.

Trump used his white nationalist followers, silly. We’re all racist to some extent, trump included.

He has always been an anarchist. He blows stuff up and hopes to avoid scrutiny by escaping in the smoke. He has brainwashed minions who believe his bullscheisse, and hate the nation as a byproduct.

You are irrational. You feel there’s a burgeoning police state; you feel trump won the election; global warming is a communist plot; Jan 6 was a peaceful protest…

Your brain has been wired wrong. Perhaps you can be salvaged.

      • drowningpuppies says:

Rimjob: And yes, trump’s campaign collaborated with Russian intelligence during the 2016 campaign.

Uh no, that has been proven to be incorrect.
Did you miss that little news item, dipshit?

      • david7134 says:

You are really getting delusional. You make statements that have been evaluated and found to be lies, mostly by Hillary and Obama. Trump was/ is our best president, accept it.

        • Professor hale says:

I understand your affection for Trump but he was certainly not our best president. His major failing was also what attracted most of his support: being a true political outsider.

As an outsider, the republican party was free to work with the democratic party to undermine everything Trump wanted to do. There are countless stories about Trump appointees bragging about stonewalling his agendas. There are books written by people Trump trusted detailing how they never liked him and did everything the could to stab him in the back. Even the republican controlled house and senate gave him zero support on issues Americans overehelmingly wanted because they didnt want Trump to look good.

The role of President requires a person who has the unreserved support of at least one political party. Trump never had that. You can’t be a great president by only being a great man.

          • david7134 says:

Well aware of the assholes in the government and what they did not do. Put looking at what Trump accomplished in the face of extreme adversity puts him well above our current and previous presidents.

          • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Conmenter: You can’t be a great president by only being a great man

            And DonJon was/is neither.

And tRump didn’t have the support of Republicans???… ????

            DonJon’s Republicans held the Senate for 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020.

DonJon conservatives were the majority of the Supreme Court.

DonJon’s Republicans held the House 2017 and 2018.

Time and history will not be kind to Mr Trump. A worse president than Nixon, Carter, W, Ford, Fillmore and Harding.

As far as being a great man… philanderer, at least 5 children with at least 3 baby mamas, over 20 accusations of sexual harassment/assault including rapes, accused hebephile, impeached twice in 4 years, lying about the election, led a coup attempt against America, bankrupted several companies, his own companies are under investigation (CFO guilty of fraud), campaign staff in prison… and none of it is his fault; he’s ever the victim.

        • drowningpuppies says:

          Exaggerate much, Rimjob?

          • david7134 says:

He can’t tell the difference between reality and his make believe. Considering recent comments, he is getting crazier than ever.

When adults are exchanging view points it would be best for you to stay out of the conversation. You have nothing to add.

          • Elwood P. Dowd says:

            I’ll take that under advisement.

  4. Jl says:

Remember, J is an alarmist. Evidence is optional…

  5. Elwood P. Dowd says:

LOL. Teach feels the accused should manage the investigation.

We realize that Prosecutorial Discretion is anathema to nuCons, but should the DOJ just look the other way here?

    • CarolAnn says:

Nah, they only do that for leftists like Berger, Hillary, Pedo joe, Hunter, Gates and the entire plethora of commies in the government.

      F Pedo joe

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Sandy Berger was charged and pleaded guilty to the unauthorized removal of classified documents, a misdemeanor at the time (Ironically, trump made it a felony!). Berger was fined $50,000, given two years probation, was stripped of his security clearance, lost his law license and had to serve 100 hours community service. Not unusual for a misdemeanor.

The documents were classified copies of a report commissioned from Richard Clarke covering assessments of the Clinton Administration’s handling of the unsuccessful 2000 millennium attack plots. Clarke was a security official with Presidents Reagan, GHW Bush and Bill Clinton.

Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was found to have some 100 classified emails on a private server. After a review the DOJ/FBI chose not to indict claiming it was unlikely a prosecutor would pursue such a case. (BTW, trump (peDon) has not been indicted either but is being investigated). Subsequently, just before the 2020 election, FBI Director Comey announced ANOTHER investigation based on emails from Huma Abedin’s laptop. No charges were filed.

What crimes do you suspect President Biden has committed that have not been prosecuted?

The Fed’s are currently investigating Hunter Biden for potential tax fraud and violating foreign lobbying laws.

    • drowningpuppies says:

Rimjob: We realize that Prosecutorial Discretion is anathema to nuCons, but should the DOJ just look the other way here?

      Bwaha! You’re joking, right?
Or are you just a dumbass?

  6. UnkleC says:

First things first, I think the good professor comment is right on several points, but a number of those R’s that went along with the party line and not voter sentiment may soon be paying a price, if not already.
Next, this was a bogus ‘general search warrant’ that the deep state wants kept as quiet as possible until they go through their haul and get the real evidence in a burn bag. The deep state must be protected.
As president, 45 had the authority to declassify literally anything. One legal scholar on the subject likened his authority to a literal ‘magic wand’, he says it’s declassified and it’s declassified, period. And since no one is concerned with the 30-odd million pages 44 had trucked to his warehouse/library or Bill and Hil’s plundering, where’s the precedent?
Apparently, the deep state is desperate to keep Trump from running again since it will probably be more difficult to rig the 2024 election.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Commenter: this was a bogus ‘general search warrant’ that the deep state wants kept as quiet as possible until they go through their haul and get the real evidence in a burn bag

Both the search warrant and property receipt are public. News orgs have filed requests to have the affidavit supporting the warrant released, but it is precedent to keep these types of affidavits sealed until trial.

Curiously, at this time Trump lawyers have yet to file a request for release. Trump is not interested in the legal proceedings and may fear that the affidavit will contain significant evidence of potential crimes. For Trump this is all a game of public sentiment.

      • drowningpuppies says:

Rimjob: …significant evidence of potential crimes.

        Maybe, kinda sorta.

        Russia, Russia, Russia Redux.

        • UnkleC says:

          And again.
“Russia, Russia, Russia”,”The sky is falling”, or is it “Wolf” this time?
Think if all the millions wasted trying to railroad Trump had been used for homelessness, poverty, or curing cancer how much better off the country would be. And the lefty whack-jobs would still be whining.

  7. UnkleC says:

Now, there’s the question of what they actually took in the raid. Since we now know that the property receipt had errors, re: passports, what else was in those boxes that wasn’t inventoried.
There is something over-ripe in one of the lower Scandinavian states.

  8. L.G.Brandon!, L.G.Brandon! says:

If Liz Cheney runs as a republican in 2024 wouldn’t that pose a conundrum for the democrats regarding who to cheat for?

  9. Elwood P. Dowd says:

    Pence/Cheney 2024!!

Actual Never Trumpster conservatives. I wouldn’t vote for them but at least it would gut the dishonest, unAmerican tRumpism movement.

  10. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Anyone who really, actually, genuinely feels/believes that DonJon tRump received more votes than President Joseph Biden is either an idiot or delusional.

Teach has hinted but hasn’t the balls to declare one way or another. The likely suspects amongst the conmenters here are either idiots or delusional. A few other conmenters have yet to say yes, but also fail to criticize those with delusional ED (electile dysfunction).

It would be interesting to discover what other delusional beliefs the trumpazoids hold.

    • drowningpuppies says:

So Rimjob now do your “CO2 causes global warming” bit.

      Speaking of “idiotic” and/or “delusional”.

    • drowningpuppies says:

Election denier” is the new commie phrase.

“No American should support election deniers,” Rep. Liz Cheney says in her concession speech after losing her Republican primary in Wyoming to Trump-backed challenger Harriet Hageman.

      Mollie @MZHemingway
It’s one thing for Pelosi and other Dem activists to use the *patently absurd* phrase “election denier” against people with legit concerns about recent election administration issues. No serious person should ever utter the phrase for Americans who want free and fair elections.

      Margot Cleveland @ProfMJCleveland
Democrats & Media Cartel use buzzwords to instantly construct & destroy strawmen. “Election denier” is but the latest example and they are doing that now to groom Americans to accept the destruction of any semblance of election integrity. More next week on this!
