The UK government has already pledged some short-term funding to tackle climate change. But this isn’t enough. If people in poverty are to weather its effects, it’s vital the UK provides funding for the long term, and ensures this reaches the most vulnerable communities. You took action to remind the UK government not to drop the ball on Climate Change in the important UN climate talks in Durban, South Africa, COP17. And to work to be the greenest government ever. Thank you for taking action over the summer, at both the V-Festival and Greenbelt, and thank you to our friends in Christian Aid and Tearfund for the wonderful bearing witness event in Manchester.
You know what’s great for people in poverty? Abundant, reliable, affordable energy. Good luck, Britain, when the long standing methods are erased one by one and replaced with barely functional wind and solar ones. One day, yes, they’ll be great. That day is not here, or even close.

Most candles are made of paraffin, a heavy hydrocarbon derived from crude oil. Burning a paraffin candle for one hour will release about 10 grams of carbon dioxide.
Another Alarmist states that candles are 10 times worse than light bulbs, and has math to prove it. Another says it is unhealthy and bad for Gaia.
