National Science Foundation More Like National P0rn Foundation

Hey, maybe this is why we get so many rediculous and idiotic climate alarmist reports

Employee misconduct investigations, often involving workers accessing pornography from their government computers, grew sixfold last year inside the taxpayer-funded foundation that doles out billions of dollars of scientific research grants, according to budget documents and other records obtained by The Washington Times.

The problems at the National Science Foundation (NSF) were so pervasive they swamped the agency’s inspector general and forced the internal watchdog to cut back on its primary mission of investigating grant fraud and recovering misspent tax dollars.

Well, isn’t that special? The Washington Times had to throw a FOIA request out to find the nature of a budget grant to investigate NSF, and

For instance, one senior executive spent at least 331 days looking at pornography on his government computer and chatting online with nude or partially clad women without being detected, the records show.

When finally caught, the NSF official retired. He even offered, among other explanations, a humanitarian defense, suggesting that he frequented the porn sites to provide a living to the poor overseas women. Investigators put the cost to taxpayers of the senior official’s porn surfing at between $13,800 and about $58,000.

“He explained that these young women are from poor countries and need to make money to help their parents and this site helps them do that,” investigators wrote in a memo.

$100 says this guys a liberal.

Deputy Inspector General Tim Cross said despite the office’s budget request, the foundation appears to have fixed the systematic problems that allowed workers to look at pornography on the job.

Huh? Where were the filters in the first place? Remember all the hoopla where blogs were blocked from federal goverment computers? But, not p0rn? And some people want government in charge of the health care system why, exactly?

And did you notice how many people got fired for this? Yup, its a government job. There’s no such thing as being fired.

  2. If you or I did that, we would be canned within days. Heck, I heard about a VERY big time suit at another very big company who got canned because he was cruising porn on his corporate laptop on his own time.

well Teach it is true that most scientists vote for the Democrats (as well as most holders of advanced degrees) it is also true that the highest rates of paying for porn occur in red states so your wage is certainly no lock

  4. Trish says:

My brother-in-law is a scientist at Berkeley Labs, and he says that even though he votes for Dems, it’s the Republicans who fund their research most of the time, not the Democrats.
