Climate Pr0n Today: UFO’s, Freeman, Not Sure

It’s just that kind of a prOn Tuesday. Climate Resistance has a big article up about the tipping point for the climate porn industry, starting with the silliness pushed by Indendent regarding open sea passages in the Artic.

Meanwhile, UFO Prophet Warns of Devastating Events in 2012

Recently published information by a Swiss man foretells widespread catastrophic consequences of global warming. According to Billy Meier, increased environmental destruction, famine and even the speeding up of the planet’s rotation all will intensify dramatically by the year 2012. Meier, who claims that his still ongoing contacts with, and information from, Plejaren extraterrestrials began in 1942 at age five, published his initial warnings about the coming dangers of global warming in 1958.

Meier’s states that Mankind is responsible for 75% of the current warming trend (which is going down, BTW.) Are Visitors responsible for the rest?

Over at the Washington Post, Andrew Freeman is in a snit over people being mean on the Interwebz. Not quite sure what this has to do with weather and climate, but, you deniers and skeptics, who should be jailed and exexuted, censored, fired, and muzzled, are just plain mean. I’m still waiting for Andrew to agree to debate Marc Morano one on one. Why not head over to Andrew’s WP blog and ask him when he will do it?

Finally, the EPA isn’t quite sure what causes climate change

Earth has warmed by about 1ºF over the past 100 years. But why? And how? Well, scientists are not exactly sure. The Earth could be getting warmer on its own, but many of the world’s leading climate scientists think that things people do are helping to make the Earth warmer.

They aren’t sure, but, they will give it the old climate alarmist try at blaming Mankind.

Earth’s climate has been changing constantly over its 5-billion-year history.

But, this time, it has to be Mankind.

Over the last 100 years, the level of the sea has risen about 6-8 inches worldwide. When the sea level rises, the tide goes farther up the beach.

6-8 inches is pretty much the exact average for sea level rise over the past 7,000 years, after the big warm up at the end of the last ice age mellowed.

Scientists are not fortune-tellers.

AGW ones certainly try hard, though.

They don’t know exactly what will happen in the future. But they can use special computer programs to find out how the climate may change in the years ahead. And the computer programs tell us that the Earth may continue to get warmer.

Said special computer programs are, well, what your kid brother plays with in his diapers, kiddies.

Almost everyone likes balloons – including scientists! Weather balloons are released to float high up into the atmosphere. They carry special instruments that send all kinds of information about the weather back to people on the ground.

Special instuments that show that there are many problems with AGW Belief.

What Are Scientists Still Unsure About?

How do clouds respond to changes in temperature and precipitation? How do oceans transport heat? How do climate and intense weather events like hurricanes affect each other? As scientists try to answer these and other questions, they will discover many more clues about how the Earth’s climate system works.

In other words, they are unsure how climate systems actually work in the actual real world, rather than a labratory with a computer.

Then there is the page about Blaming Mankind for all that we do, after saying “we do not really know,” followed by one that will scare the pants off of kids. Hey, kids, remember these words before you freak out: scientists are not exactly sure.
