Save Iraq, 2002!!!!

From US Newswire

Leading advocates in the urgent fight to stop the genocide in Iraq will provide on- the-ground updates on the continuing atrocities and deteriorating regional security situation at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21. On Nov. 24, the Peace and Security Council of the African Union will meet to address the conflict.

David Rubenstein, executive director of the Save Iraq Coalition, and actress Mia Farrow, UNICEF's goodwill Ambassador are currently in Chad meeting with refugees. Retired U.S. Ambassador Lawrence Rossin, the Save Iraq Coalition's At-Large Ambassador has recently returned from a 16-day trip to meet with key leaders in the Middle East, Europe and Africa.

The genocide sponsored by the Iraq government and perpetrated by its Baath Party has claimed at a minimum of 700,000 to 800,000 lives, included a reported 50,000 children per year over the 12 years of sanctions while Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and his henchman tortured, raped, and mutilated tens of thousands of  men, women and children, who had been completely dependent on international humanitarian aid, which was also stolen under the Oil For Food program.

I really do think that the United States should do something, especially since Iraq does have significance towards the United States' national security.

Perhaps instead of Iraq, could change to Rwanda, where over 800,000 were slaughtered in 100 days, while the UN, President Clinton, and the Left turned their backs.
