Kos Still Doesn’t Get It

From Kosbat:

It’s worth noting that both Cole and Trevino are veterans (funny how it’s the veterans on the Right who are most outraged at the torture allegations). And while we disagree vehemetly on the war. They support it, I oppose it. There is consensus between us that torture is not what America stands for.

There are issues that can legitimately be fought for partisan gain. This isn’t one of them. Too much is at stake.

What he means is that we should take his position on the "torture" issue. I’ll say right now, the war on terror, and the war in Iraq, should be not be fought for partisan gain. Negative words hurt our efforts. Will you support that, Marcos?

Deflecting away from Durbin’s comments does our troops a great disservice, Marcos, especially when Durbin’s comments are playing all over the Middle East. Al Jazeera is peeing their pants in glee like a puppy when visitors stop by. He said them. Cole and Trevino have their opinions. Others have theirs.

Is torture wrong? Yup. Yet I haven’t seen you lashing out against the islamofascists for what they have done. Matter of fact, I remember your "screw them" comment. You used the beheadings as political fodder. Put up or shut up. Cause your right, too much is at stake. You hate the Iraq war, we get it. What we get is you hate it because GWB is President. Your comments, as pretty much the head moonbat in the blogosphere, harm the interests of the USA.

Update: The Anchoress has an interesting take on the moonbats over the Durbin issue (h/t Little Miss Attila):

Sorry folks. Sorry, Dems. You have to address this. You have to either denounce it or be prepared to OWN it throughout your party. And if you want to be convincing…make him resign.

Good point. Funny how not one Dem has come out and said that what Durbin said was wrong. Not one. Whose the sheeple? And no one will be moving on anytime soon till you Dems do.

And even more: Rick at RightWing NutHouse has a really good article on Durbin.

With that kind of stupidity, I see no hope for dialogue. Therefore, the Durbin issue not only won’t die, it will grow in intensity as Durbin and his apologists seek to find some way to justify their outrageous statements.

True, very true.

Let’s face it William, they’d rather own it than distance themselves from it. Dean and Durbin have apparently been put in charge of throwing the stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks…Kos says “for strength, truth and the American way, support Senator Durbin!”

The “base” of the Democrat party has moved so far to the left that they feel they have to feed them a constant diet of red meat–wild accusations, ad hominem rhetoric, calls for impeachment on no evidence, PLAY-ACTING phony proceedings by our (democrat) elected officials to get some face-time on C-Span…

They are counting on their perception that the electorate is ignorant and has a short memory–they can stir up anti-conservative “feelings” and in 6-months nobody will remember what was said.
