Climate Change Is Literally Changing the Ocean’s Color

“Ocean blue” may no longer be the most accurate way to describe the planet’s waters. A new study published in Nature on Wednesday finds that the color of the ocean has changed significantly over the last 20 years—all due to climate change.

The color shifts, according to the new study, can’t be explained by natural factors alone. These changes have occurred across 56 percent of the world’s ocean, turning the waters greener over time (especially near the equator).

That color change seems to be the result of changes in the marine ecosystems—driven by climate change.

“I’ve been running simulations that have been telling me for years that these changes in ocean color are going to happen,” study co-author Stephanie Dutkiewicz, a scientist at MIT, said in a press release. “To actually see it happening for real is not surprising, but frightening. And these changes are consistent with man-induced changes to our climate.”

How horrible!

Greener waters occur when there’s more life in the ocean—particularly phytoplankton, which grow abundantly in the upper ocean depths. That might sound good, but it’s actually a grim indicator. Phytoplankton play an essential role in capturing and storing carbon dioxide—so increases in carbon dioxide inevitably give rise to phytoplankton blooms. These explosions in population mean greener waters.

Got that? It’s bad to have more plankton, which is actually the number one thing for photosynthesis, more than ground based plant life. It’s actually a good thing, as it means there is less ocean pollution, which had gotten bad during the 20th Century, but, started getting cleaning in the 1990s. But, you know anything and everything is Bad in Climate Cult world. And they continue to scaremonger in the article, and all the other articles in various Credentialed Media outlets because they got their talking point memos. Nothing can ever be good, and it’s always 100% the fault of Mankind

Dementia Joe Makes Many Bad Gaffes In Lithuania

President Biden committed multiple speaking gaffes during his trip to Lithuania this week to shore up support for Ukraine amid its war with Russia, including confusing the two nations, as well as their leaders.

While speaking to the NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania on Wednesday Biden referred to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as “Vladmir,” seemingly confusing Zelenskyy with Russian President Vladmir Putin.

Appearing to not realize his mistake, Biden went on to say he “shouldn’t be so familiar,” and referred to Zelenskyy as “Mr. Zelenskyy.”

Putin and Zelenskyy each hold a different version of the same name, with “Volodymyr” being the most commonly used version in Ukraine.

At a later speaking event following the summit, Biden confused the two nations, referring to Ukraine as Russia.

“Russia could end this war tomorrow by withdrawing its forces from Ukraine and recognizing its international borders and ceasing its attacks – its inhumane attacks – on Russia – I mean by Russia on Ukraine,” Biden said, correcting himself.

He’s just lost, and it’s rather sad to watch.

Rich Guy Plans To Sell His Private Jet To Save The Planet

Obviously, the CNN reporter forgot to ask some pointed, tough questions

Amid these concerns, one private jet owner has decided to scale back. Stephen Prince, vice-chair of the Patriotic Millionaires – a group of wealthy Americans pushing for higher taxes which also contributed to the report – is giving up his Cessna 650 Citation III.

He decided to ditch the plane – a mid-size, long range corporate jet with room for up to nine passengers – after he learned how much more carbon-intensive flying private is compared to commercial.

“I was gobsmacked by the fact that by being so in love with private air travel, I was willing to ignore what a horrible travesty I was perpetrating on the environment and on future generations,” he tells CNN. “I’ve got to change. I just can’t continue to do this.”

Prince was born in 1955. How long has he been taking private, fossil fueled flights? Is it simply no longer necessary for him? Will he be giving up fossil fueled flights?

Prince has owned half a dozen private jets before the Citation III, which is the largest and most expensive to operate he’s ever had – the running costs alone work out at about $275,000 to $300,000 per year. He says flying private is so good, it becomes addictive.

“It’s just absolutely the best way to travel. But I’m going to give it up. I’m just going back to flying commercially, as much as I despise the process after having flown privately for the last six or seven years,” he says. “TSA, long lines, canceled flights, lost luggage – I despise all the things that go along with it. And when you fly first class, it’s not cheap, either. But I made my decision back in March this year. And I’m sticking with it, I’m selling it, I’m going to aggressively get rid of it.”

Well, that’s his problem. Stop trying to force your Beliefs on Other People

The Cessna is currently worth about $1 million and in the current market it should find a buyer pretty quickly.

I bet he’s taking a nice write-off on it. They haven’t been sold new in quite some time, were originally about $8 million.

There’s just one catch. Prince, an entrepreneur in the gift card and payments industry, may be ditching his jet – but he’s not going to give up private air travel entirely.

“I have a friend who’s going to let me lease his smaller aircraft,” he says, “It’s a twin turbo, which burns about a fourth of the amount of fuel of the Cessna – and I’m only going to use it two or three times a year to go out to a pheasant hunting preserve in the northwest corner of Nebraska.”

So, still private flights, just with a prop plane, which he can incur some nice tax breaks by leasing. Oops!

NYC Mayor Says It’s Un-American To Not Let Illegals Work

How about all the illegals/migrants he’s shipped out of NYC? What about people came here legally and went through tons of money and time to become legal. Why go through the process, when government doesn’t care about the legal ways?

During a press conference meant to announce the Adams administration’s self-proclaimed success at moving homeless people from shelters to permanent housing, the mayor addressed questions regarding his controversial decompression strategy to relocate migrants who arrived to New York City elsewhere in the state.

“We’re at full capacity,” Adams said. “It’s just unbelievable what’s happening to the people of the city of New York that are going through this. And nothing is more anti-American than you can’t have a job when you come to America. There’s nothing more anti-American. Every one of us in this room, family members came from somewhere. And the guiding light of this country is to be able to come here and work. We have a population of 84,000 people that we’re saying you cannot work. That’s anti-American.”

Yes, we came legally. All those people getting off the ships at Ellis Island came legally. These people are showing up at the border demanding food, housing, healthcare, education, money, and jobs. Well, some want jobs, many just want America to pay for everything.

Adams and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, both Democrats, have called on President Biden for expedited work authorization for asylum seekers.

Sure, they can work. Outside of the U.S. No need to be taking more jobs from Americans.

“When the storm hit upstate, they called New York City. New York City has always been here for the entire state,” Adams said, referencing heavy rain and flooding impacting the Hudson Valley. “The storm of migrants, asylum seekers have hit us for over a year now. We need help. We need help on a national government. We need help on the state government.”

Aw. A whole year. Now go talk to the mayor and citizens of those border towns who’ve had to deal with this for decades, and seen those numbers and the associated problems skyrocket since Biden took office.

Climate Cult Continues Worrying About African And Indian Babies Being Born

Climate Alarmists Fret over Too Many African, Indian Babies on ‘World Population Day’

The United Nations marked World Population Day on Tuesday, publishing a forecast that the Earth’s population will hit 9.7 billion by the year 2050 and surpass 10 billion before the end of the century.

The report was laced with delicately expressed anxiety that the surging populations of African nations might develop Western-sized carbon footprints, overwhelming even the most extreme plans to control the world’s climate.

The Emitari newspaper the National put the U.N.’s population concerns rather bluntly:

More than half of world population growth until 2050 is expected to occur in Sub-Saharan Africa, where the most recent World Bank figures indicate that average annual carbon emissions are about 0.7 tonnes per person per year, compared to the global average of 4.3 tonnes.

As a result, population growth in the coming decades may have less of an impact than it would have had, had it been happening in richer regions.

These people are ghouls, and most of the ones whining about ‘climate change’ refuse to reduce their own carbon footprints. They just want Other People to do so

Celebrating a huge number of human beings being born into grinding poverty, food insecurity, primitive living conditions, and incessant violence is not a good look for the climate change movement, so the U.N. report was accompanied by musings that the people of developed nations should think about reducing their carbon footprints to sub-Saharan African levels. This does not seem like a course the people of North America, Europe, and industrialized Asia would pursue voluntarily.

An alternative approach floated by population experts would be reducing African birthrates by exporting some of the same cultural and political factors that have locked many advanced nations into demographic death spirals. The U.N. suggested “policies that promote gender equity” as one such fertility-killer, because “women with greater freedom typically choose to have fewer children.”

And, of course they want to push more abortions, because that’s what these Fascists do

The National’s correspondents implied one means of incubating these low-fertility ideals would be bringing large numbers of people from the Third World into Europe and America, where they will serve as replacement labor for the young Europeans and Americans who have not been born.

I’m sure the climate cult elites are chomping at the bit for more low wage servants, after they backed all the left wing unions and pay increases and such.

Shameful And Cruel: NYC Stops Giving Illegals Free Bus Rides To Welcome Center

NYC halts free migrant bus service from Port Authority due to low staffing, high costs

New York City has quietly halted the free bus service for migrants arriving at the Port Authority Terminal in Manhattan, forcing them to instead trek nearly a mile to the welcome center crosstown, The Post has confirmed.

Asylum advocates on the ground told The Post that the city moved to halt migrant transport services to the Roosevelt Hotel migrant welcome center over the Fourth of July holiday.

Instead of a bus ride, members of the National Guard are tasked with handing out fliers that show the newcomers how to walk across Midtown Manhattan — even if the migrants arrive in the middle of the night.

Seriously, these illegal alien invaders walked thousands of miles and people are concerned they cannot walk a mile?

(Gothamist) But the change by the city means many migrants arriving in New York by bus must now walk three blocks north and four avenues east across a densely-populated island they’ve never visited before.

How rude of NYC to do this!

“These families and individuals, many of them with disabilities and many with very young children, have already experienced trauma at home and on their long journeys here,” said Joshua Goldfein, a staff attorney with the Legal Aid Society. “Forcing them to walk almost a mile to shelter intake facilities in the sweltering heat is shameful and cruel.”

Right, right, because NYC residents never do this. And it’s very cool with low humidity when walking from South America to the US southern border, right? Back to the first story

“With hundreds of asylum seekers continuing to arrive daily (not just through the PABT), we need the limited number of MTA buses that have been provided by the state to transport asylum seekers from the Arrival Center to their placements,” a City Hall spokesperson said.

In other words, to ship them out of NYC to areas that are not declared sanctuary cities. Back to the Gothamist story

The decision to cut off the bus services outraged Power Malu, who runs a nonprofit group that has been providing transport, food and services for migrants.

“They planned on having mothers with tiny babies walking in the middle of the night during Fourth of July,” Malu said.

Malu said he arranged for Uber and Lyft drivers to take the migrants to the hotel and alerted the night of the holiday.

Looks like that non-profit can spend their own money on this. If New Yorkers are so supportive of illegals, they can donate their own money.

Meanwhile

(Boston Herald) The Healey administration has released a list of the 28 cities and towns where it is spending millions on hotels and motels for thousands of handout-demanding illegals arriving from the Third World.

Oddly, however, almost all the ultra-affluent suburban communities most loudly committed to celebrating diversity have thus far been unable to provide suitable free housing for the new non-working classes.

The illegals are not being sent to, among other millionaire destinations, Cambridge, Brookline, Newton, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, Chatham, Swampscott, Newburyport, Wellesley, Dover, Sherborn, Amherst….

Do you begin to get the picture?

These melanin-impaired preserves of the Beautiful People all have Hate Has No Home Here signs festooned on every lawn. Yet oddly they somehow remain unaffected by the Democrats’ ongoing “fundamental transformation” of America into a Third World flophouse.

Funny how the illegal alien supporting town of Boston is not keeping them, and not shipping them to other illegal alien supporting towns.

Climate Crisis (scam) Is Also Impacting Our Brains

It’s always something doomy with these people, and the problem with constantly pitching prognostications of doom is that one always has to ramp up the doom. Where does it end?

Climate change isn’t just impacting our environment. It’s also impacting our brains

Climate change isn’t just impacting physical health, but new research shows it’s also having an impact on our mental well-being.

Extreme heat can increase prevalence of suicide, and exacerbate some psychiatric conditions. There is also a correlation between air quality and some neurodevelopmental disorders in children, according to the International Behavioral Neuroscience Society.

But the mental health challenges presented by climate change aren’t just limited to individuals. Severe weather can also impact how people treat others.

“When we look at the rate of violence in particular, we know that for every 1.8 degrees Celsius change, there’s a 6% increase in violence and violent crimes across the board,” said Dr. Joshua Wortzel, chair of the American Psychiatric Association’s (APA) Committee on Climate Change and Mental Health.

“Our understanding of the biology is still in its infancy. But we think that it may have to do with what heat does to different chemicals in the brain like serotonin,” Wortzel said recently on Connecticut Public’s “Where We Live.”

So, they do not actually know a damned thing, they’re just making it up on the fly, and using the notion of anthropogenic climate change to get themselves noticed and get some nice, cool, government grant money.

Managing climate change anxiety starts with empathy and affirmation. “I think that we need to validate what children are experiencing,” Wortzel said. “In an age-appropriate manner, giving them education about what climate change really is, we need to help children know that they’re not alone.”

Or, we can stop validating their brainwashing that they’re doomed from a small increase in global temperatures, that this is entirely normal during a Holocene warm period.

Another potential way to manage climate anxiety is by getting involved with climate and environmental activism. Volunteer at an event such as a beach clean up or even find a way to contribute to citizen science. Focusing on solutions to climate change can be helpful for children and young adults struggling with climate anxiety.

Hanging with lots of unhinged climate cultists will only make it worse.

Brandon Admin Looks To Cap Child Care Costs

Biden administration plans to cap how much families pay for child care through a government program

unintended consequencesVice President Kamala Harris said Tuesday that the government plans to put a cap on how much families pay for child care as part of the Child Care & Development Block Grant program.

Speaking to reporters, Harris went through the details of a proposed rule by the Department of Health and Human Services that follows an executive order on the issue that President Joe Biden signed in April. Families would pay no more than 7% of their income for child care through the program and child care providers would find it easier to be paid on time. The proposal also wants to encourage states to let families apply online for care.

Harris touted the possible savings for families.

“Let’s take a family in Montana making $46,000 a year—they could save about $80 every month, or almost over $1,000 a year,” the vice president said. “That money could go to gas and groceries or to fix a leaky roof.”

Where’s this money coming from? Who’s paying for it? Who authorized it? From that link in the excerpt

But the directives would be funded out of existing commitments, possibly including last year’s laws financing infrastructure projects and building computer chip plants. That likely means their impact would be limited and possess more of a symbolic weight about what’s possible. The Democratic president was far more ambitious in 2021 by calling to provide more than $425 billion to expand child care, improve its affordability and boost wages for caregivers.

So taking money that was appropriated for something else to buy votes. Seriously, child care isn’t exactly cheap, from what I hear. And what will happen going forward? Well, child care services will learn what it means to be in bed with the federal government, and have Los Federales up their butts all the time, and how the government isn’t exactly reliable with payments. And then the child care services will jack up their prices with all that sweet, sweet federal money floating around, much like the way college prices exploded when the feds backed student loans via Obamacare and made them easier to take out.

Will the child care companies be paid directly, or will the money go to the parents? If the latter, this will increase the number of welfare queens with children from multiple fathers, and this will be off the backs of the middle class taxpayers. Who’s kids are these? Why are other people responsible for their cost of upbringing? And, it will get the federal government heavily involved in their lives.
