When Will America Get Tired Of Obama’s Constant Lies?

At what point is this country going to have had enough of this  shameless,  inveterate liar? He had to lie continually in 2008 in order to get elected, and he’s been a non stop geyser gushing lies, ever since.

Geoffrey L. Hunter of the American Thinker, wrote, “Lying has many shades; Obama has perfected the bald-faced type, the most jarring, with a repetition that files down the senses, grinds away at outrage.”

Obama is an incontinent bladder of lies, deceptions, and red herrings gushing virtually non-stop whether in press conferences, campaign speeches, the State of the Union addresses, or remarks to foreign dignitaries.

Deb goes through a long list of lies from Obama just from the past 2 years. It would be tough to go back through all his lies. Remember the email that went around in 2008 about his top 50 lies (they weren’t all lies, some were simply exaggerations)? Remember the lie about Selma? Here are 21 more. And Glenn Beck on Obama’s lies. His top 60 lies and broken promises. A list of Obamacare lies. A documented list of 75 lies. The links go on and on.

Now, even Obama’s most faithful drones can’t help but notice the guy tells about 5 whoppers a day, but they’ll defend him to the bitter end. All politicians lie, right?  They’re happy to embrace  Obama’s culture of deceit as long as it leads us ever closer to the final transformation they dream about – the Utopia  that is in reality a dystopia,  but the drones will be the last ones to figure it out. The rest of us, are being dragged kicking and screaming into this dark radical Islam friendly, virulently anti-Christian, collectivist,  totalitarian hell-state Obama seems to want to take us.

Leftists do not care. Nor does the media, tasked by the 1st Amendment with keeping government honest. Or at least exposing it. Now they are simply the media arm of the Democrat Party.

Good Grief: Late 20th Century El Nino Now Blamed On “Climate Change”

Sad when we have to start the post with a facepalm, rather than ending with one

(Bloomberg) The El Nino weather pattern that can bring drought to Australia and rain to South America was “unusually active” at the end of the 20th century, possibly due to climate change, a University of Hawaii study found.

Researchers studied 2,222 tree-ring records as proxies for temperature and rainfall over the past 700 years, the university wrote in an online statement dated yesterday. The records indicate the El Nino-Southern Oscillation weather phenomenon has been increasingly active in recent decades relative to the past seven centuries.

The study found that in the year after a large tropical volcanic eruption, the east-central tropical Pacific is “unusually cool,” followed by warming a year later, the university wrote. Volcanic aerosols, like greenhouse gases, disturb the Earth’s radiation balance, it said.

“This supports the idea that the unusually high ENSO activity in the late 20th century is a footprint of global warming,” study lead author Jinbao Li was cited as saying.

Wait, is this saying that it is all natural, or that it is man-induced? When the phrase “climate change” is thrown around in the media it is mostly or solely meant to portray it as mad-caused. Having read this kind of slop for decades, I’m going to go with the notion that they mean it is your fault, dear reader, for taking fossil fueled travel, using more than 2 TP sheets, taking showers longer than 2 minutes, and using hair spray. Those are just a few examples of your evil lifestyle which causes Bad Weather, islands to tip over, and Gaia to sweat.

The El Nino/La Nina pattern is nothing new: studies have delved back through reconstructions over the past 1,100 years, but no one really knows how old the pattern is. Some say they started around 10,000 years ago, as the main effects of the last glacial age ended. But, we do not know. On average, there is one every 3-7 years. Usually. Not always. There is a longer term pattern of activity lasting 50-90 years. Some are big, some aren’t.

But now the Warmists have to blame them on “climate change”, when in fact they are part of the natural cycle, and seem to be more active within the natural warm cycles that have been occurring since the end of the last ice age. They tend to jibe with many of the warmest years (such as 2010!). Warmists just can’t help themselves.

Rubio’s Political Future Tied To Success Of Amnesty Bill

In a long article, the Washington Times discusses how Marco Rubio’s future is tied to the success of the amnesty bill, having been the face of this malarkey

Sen. Marco Rubio was the glue that held together the immigration deal in the Senate, helping set the stage for adding tens of thousands of Border Patrol agents to the final deal — but failing to win many of the changes the Florida Republican himself said he needed to see.

The 68-32 vote last week in favor of the bill was a milestone for the Senate and for the immigration debate, but it was even more important for the first-term senator whose political future is inextricably linked with the landmark legislation he helped write and pass.

“I think the debate has been hard for Marco. It’s been a physical strain, an emotional strain, a political strain. Without a doubt, this has not been peaches and cream for Marco,” said Ana Navarro, a Republican Party strategist from Florida and a Rubio ally.

“But I actually think his political stock has gone way up in the sense that he’s achieved something — he’s gotten a major legislative accomplishment under his belt and he’s made a difference in this debate,” she said. “So you now can’t say he’s the Republican Barack Obama — a first-term senator who made great speeches. This guy now can say he was a crucial part of getting a very controversial piece of bipartisan legislation through.”

This is where the huge breakdown between GOP insiders and the people who actually vote Republican, especially Conservatives, occurs. This bill is about as popular with Republican voters as a turd is in a punch bowl at a wedding. If the amnesty bill passes the House and is signed into law, Rubio loses. If the bill fails the House, Rubio loses. And what was so hard for Marco? All the distortions, misrepresentations, and out-right lies? Or was it the pretending to be a Republican while pushing a bill that’s really popular with Democrats and helps out the fortunes of Democrats?

Responding to his critics, Mr. Rubio delivered a broad floor speech Wednesday saying he got involved in writing the bill because it otherwise wouldn’t have any provisions for border security. He also said the final deal is better than current law, which isn’t being enforced at all.

It still doesn’t have any hard border security provisions written in as “thou shalt do”. Almost all can be blown off the head of DHS, and the border agent surge doesn’t occur for nearly half a decade. Legalization comes immediately.

Mr. Rubio called the English-language loophole “one of the bill’s shortcomings” and vowed to fix it, and even wrote an amendment to require immigrants to prove English skills, rather than merely sign up for classes, which under the bill is considered acceptable.

That’s right, folks, they do not actually have to learn English, as Marco stated time after time after time. And, Rubio has quietly removed the “must learn English” provision from his “get the facts” webpage. The amendment, like most amendments, failed.

Debate was virtually non-existent, despite another Rubio promise to have a long debate about this issue.

Mr. Rubio already is winning plaudits from Democrats, including Sen. Charles E. Schumer of New York.

Michael McKenna, a Republican strategist with deep ties to Capitol Hill, predicted there will be more praise like that for Mr. Rubio — but that it won’t help him when it comes to winning over primary voters.

“He’s instantly the Democrats’ favorite Republican to win the nomination in 2016. The media and the Democratic establishment are going to love him and try to convince us all that he’s really the answer to the problems that plague the Republican Party. I suspect the Republicans are going to have a significantly different take on it,” Mr. McKenna said. “He’s a young man who once had a bright and promising political future. He’s instantly the Brazil of American politics.”

This is Rubio’s bill, no matter what happens. The question is, will he be punished for it? Will Republicans and Conservatives remember this come 2016, when he’s up for re-election, and may possibly run for president, and say “nope. No money or support for you”?

Watcha Reading?

Finished up Zombie Maelstrom by Bryan Cassiday, as well as the 2nd book in the series, Zombie Necropolis. Both of them bogged down a bit, way to much constant explanations of what individual zombies look like. There wasn’t all that much progression into character development, and lots and lots of repeating the same thing (like when the main character, Chad Halverson, explains to himself that he can’t tell them he’s CIA, again and again and again). That said, I’ll give it 3 out of 5 stars. Hed off on reading the 3rd book, Sanctuary in Steel, because the latest from Glenn Bullion, Demon’s Doorway (Damned and Cursed) , was released.

Bullion is one of the better fantasy writers out there, and, heck, for $2.99, you cannot beat the entertainment. I’d easily pay up to $7 for his books (that’s about my limit, especially when they come out in paperback). This one meshes characters from several of his books, Jack Kursed, Victoria the vampire, Alex from Demonspawn, and Kevin from A Witch To Live, and does it very well. There’s something special for each of these characters throughout the book, from a wedding, to finding love, to simply going to sleep (see Jack Kursed for that background).

Finished that one too sweet, and on to The Icarus Void by CK Burch, started Saturday. We’ll see how that goes.

Also, as I’ve mentioned for the past few weeks, I’ve also been slowly reading The Mad, Mad, Mad World Of Climatism. I finally finished it, and will provide a longer review/synopsis on my next day off, so as not to rush it, but, let me say that this should be the one book that every Warmist, and those on the fences, should read. Heck, even if you do not buy into “climate change”, you should read it. The facts and figures, along with the history, of “climate change” is put in an excellent format that anyone can easily understand. I should finish it this week, not that much left. You should buy it. Still haven’t gotten around to reviewing it. My Bad.

Obama Pledges To Waste $7 Billion For Energy For Africa

More US taxpayer money flushed down the toilet to appease, well, I bet he has lots of campaign donors who’d like to get their hands involved with the schemes

(CNN) U.S. President Barack Obama pledged $7 billion Sunday to help combat frequent power blackouts in sub-Saharan Africa.

Funds from the initiative, dubbed Power Africa, will be distributed over the next five years.

We know this means “green” energy, and what energy poor Africans really, really need is expensive energy which is unstable and takes up hjuge swaths of the landscape, damaging the areas where animals and birds live.

We also know this because Power Africa, which obtains huge sums of funding from the World Bank, is pushing the “sustainable” and “clean” energy memes. None of these people or entities want poor Black people to have the same benefits that 1st worlders have.

Atheists Build Monument In Florida, Promise 50 More

I’ve often said that I have no problem with the 10 Commandments being on public property: the religious clause is about government establishing a nation religion, not against the government displaying religion. The clause was in response to how much the Church of England was involved in government pre-revolution. That said, I’ve also stated that if other religions would like monuments on government property. Fair is fair. Of course, while most atheists are decent people who just don’t believe, there are those who are militant, and instead of putting up a respectful monument, they drive down the road towards Denigration

(The Blaze) A group of atheists on Saturday unveiled a monument to their unbelief in God…and it sits alongside a granite slab that lists the Ten Commandments.

American Atheists President David Silverman said that the organization has plans for 50 more monuments at public sites across the country, notes Raw Story.

“When you look at this monument, the first thing you will notice is that it has a function. Atheists are about the real and the physical, so we selected to place this monument in the form of a bench,” said Silverman. (snip)

“We reject outsiders coming to Florida—especially from outside what we refer to as the Bible Belt—and trying to remake us in their own image,” said Michael Tubbs, state chairman of the Florida League of the South. “We do feel like it’s a stick in the eye to the Christian people of Florida to have these outsiders come down here with their money and their leadership and promote their outside values here.”

So, it wasn’t really the business of the carpetbaggers. But, fine, they put their display up

At another point, Eric Hovind, 35, of Pensacola jumped atop the peak of the monument and shouted his thanks to the atheists for giving him a platform to declare Jesus is real. Atheists shouted at him, and he stepped down after about a minute. One man yelled that religion is a fairy tale.

Very tolerant people, these Atheists, wouldn’t you say? There’s a photo down at the end of The Blaze story showing Silverman standing on the 10 Commandments display, without being shouted at or denigrated. Here’s a photo of the monument, which, instead of being respectful, is meant to be insulting to Christians (more at their Twitter feed)

And, of course, instead of being graceful over their “win”….

While Silverman said he believes religion is wrong and teachings in the Bible are violent, he said he welcomes non-Christian religions to follow the atheists’ example and put in their own monuments in free-speech zones.

“I will back them because it will be their right,” he said. “This is one of the tricks that Christians have used, because they go up and call it a free-speech zone, and then they’re unopposed. They get their government legitimization because nobody else calls their bluff and puts something in.”

The momument includes “a list of Old Testament punishments for violating the Ten Commandments, including death and stoning”. Interestingly, these militant atheist groups never seem to want to insult Islam, because they aren’t stupid, and know that the hardcore Islamists still practice those types of punishments and could get really violent against atheists.

Climate Change Would Fail In the Private Sector

Failure Deniers: Climate Change and Public-Sector Science

Tuesday afternoon, as I was reading Barack Obama’s Georgetown University speech on “climate change,” it occurred to me that the biggest and perhaps most consequential difference between the government and the private sector is how each reacts when reality doesn’t behave as expected.

The public sector does not have a monopoly on people who become irrationally wedded to ideas and programs which have become outmoded, obsolete, redundant, or worthless. The difference is what happens to such people — and in some cases, their firms — in the private sector when they stubbornly stick to their guns.

At a private firm, if a new product or idea loses — or is on track to lose — serious amounts of money, or if a research project is going nowhere, it gets killed (see: the Ford Edsel, New Coke, Apple Newton). Those who fall in love with these flame-outs and blindly defend them even when the handwriting is on the wall get fired. If a bad product or idea isn’t terminated quickly enough, it has the potential to jeopardize entire companies, even large ones (see JCPenney’s three-tier pricing plan and HP’s 2011 Touchpad debacle).

But within government?

If a new idea or product is failing or initially seems destined to fail, bureaucrats, their corporate beneficiaries, and their cronies work to get them underwritten or subsidized. The fact that the government is even involved likely indicates that the private sector knows better than to touch it without putting taxpayers on the hook. This explains why the Obama administration has had losers like Solyndra, A123 Battery, Beacon Power, and so many others in its energy “loan” portfolio.

Heck of a point. The private sector on its own would abandon so many of these hotcoldwetdry projects in a heartbeat. However, when government is throwing money around, they’re more than happy to take the money. Most of the pro-AGW research and findings comes at the hands of government grants, not solely private sector cash (except for few that have deep pockets donors such as George Soros, who fails to practice what he preaches).

Meanwhile, Obama is flogging his “climate change” announcement during this week’s Weekly Address, which is funny considering that he is in the midst of a massive fossil fueled trip to Africa, putting out more “carbon pollution” during this trip than some countries put out in a year. I’m not going to excerpt it, because there is simply just way too much stupidity.

Also, I hate defending Obama, but there’s a meme going around that he said not to vote for anyone who doesn’t believe in Hotcoldwetdry

President Barack Obama is trying to frame climate change as a make-or-break political issue, urging Americans to vote only for those who will protect the country from environmental harm.

I’m sure he feels that way, but that is NOT what he said during the Weekly Address, but simply wishful thinking, and, let’s face it, biased and shoddy journalism by the AP and Washington Post.
