Irony: Fight Breaks Out At Newark Ant-Violence Rally

You’re doing it wrong

https://twitter.com/WilliamTeach/status/682349987678842881

From the article

A skirmish broke out between rival activists on the steps of City Hall Wednesday during what had been intended as a demonstration against violence in Newark.

Police were called to the scene after a small crowd began arguing over escalating violence and the city’s attempts to curb it.

The noon press conference was called by a group of activists led by Salaam Ismial, co-chair of the New Jersey Study Commission on Violence, and Abdul Muhammad, a longtime Newark anti-violence activist. In a release announcing the event, the two said they planned to ask Mayor Ras Baraka to “unleash his quality of life plan in addressing ongoing violence facing Newark residents.”

As the group spoke to reporters, however, a group of Baraka supporters including activist Donna Jackson and Tyrone “Street Counsel” Barnes began heckling and shouting from the base of the steps.

At that point, it got all pushy and skirmishy, with Barnes putting his hands around Mohammad’s neck and pushing him to the ground at one point.

Minister Thomas Ellis, who heads the Newark “Enough is Enough Coalition” and had joined Ismail and Muhammad at the press conference, said he was disappointed that what he characterized as an simple stand against violence had devolved into a political feud.

“People were speaking out two years ago or whatever, but now there’s not a lot of people speaking out. Everybody knows the reason,” he said.

“Today we stood on the steps of City Hall to show that black lives matter in Newark, and it turned out ugly.”

It’s nothing unusual at these protests, and, really, was probably one of the least violent protests, considering all the rioting, looting, arson, gun shots, stabbings, and real fights at others. Kinda hard to take a movement about non-violence seriously when they tend to include violence. As NJ1776 noted “This was a peaceful rally. No shootings or stabbings, just a few little fights. That’s quite peaceful for Newark.”

BTW, let’s not forget these are all Democratic Party voters living in Democratic Party run cities.

Democrats Object To Plan To Subject Refugees To Lie Detector Tests Before Entry

The suggestion to subject Middle Eastern refugees to lie detector tests was brought up mid-December. Now, it’s part of actual legislation

(The Hill) A House lawmaker wants to require Syrian and Iraqi refugees to complete lie detector tests before being allowed to enter the country.

Rep. Ken Calvert (R-Calif.) has introduced legislation that would require the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), FBI and Office of the Director of National Intelligence to certify that the refugee has passed a polygraph as part of the screening process for applicants. (snip)

He also wants the three agencies to pledge that a potential refugee has handed over biometric data, including DNA, that would be used to check databases for any previous terrorist activity. The refugees would also need to complete background checks that include searching their Internet postings to determine if they are a threat to national security.

Seems like a common sense approach, in order to make sure the nation is protected. Along with questions regarding support for Islamic extremism, perhaps there should be questions for the males about rape, considering all the problems amongst the refugees in Europe. But, who could possibly object?

Senate Democrats, however, have pledged to block that bill if Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) tries to bring it up. While the Republican leader is expected to try to move legislation on the refugee program early next year, it’s unclear what the bill will be.

Why are they pledging to block the bill? The article doesn’t say. Nor can I find it anywhere else. Could it be that the tests are “expensive”, running from $475 to $875? That would be funny, considering how much money Democrats piss away. Suffice to say, they want to block legislation that attempts to safeguard the American people. Perhaps the Democrats would offer to put up the refugees in their own homes and/or neighborhoods?

Surprise: Burning Of Mosque Wasn’t By Islamophobe

There were lots and lots of liberals in High Outrage, blaming Trump, Cruz, Conservatives, Republicans, the whole normal schtick. Guess what?

A Houston man has been arrested in connection with a suspected arson at a mosque on Christmas Day, but the motive for the crime remains a mystery, with the suspect maintaining he was a regular at the mosque.

A spokeswoman for the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives confirmed that the suspect, 37-year-old Gary Nathaniel Moore of Houston, was arrested early Wednesday. Moore appeared in court at 7 a.m., spokeswoman Nicole Strong said, and bond was set at $100,000.

According to a charging instrument released by the Harris County District Clerk, Moore told investigators at the scene that he has attended the storefront mosque for five years, coming five times per day to pray seven days per week.

Of course, now that we apparently have a practicing Muslim, who is also Black (relevant because liberals and their cohorts were quick to say it must have been a white right leaning Islamophobe), being the chief suspect, having him on video and with all sorts of material at his home, we are being told to “be patient” and not jump to conclusions.

The Jawa Report notes that CAIR is suddenly being very quiet after their previous grandstanding.

Neo-neocon notes this is another dog bites man story.

Creeping Sharia also notes CAIR being quiet.

Welcome To The Idiocene

This one’s a hoot from Climate Change Dispatch’s Jonathan DuHamel

Welcome to a new geologic era – the Idiocene

A new era, the Idiocene, is a time when common sense exited the planet. It is characterized by a fear of global warming. Individuals, organizations, and governments are under the thrall of this bogeyman.

President Obama has declared that global warming is much more dangerous than radical Islamic terrorism. States and countries are eschewing inexpensive, abundant energy sources in favor of unreliable, expensive, allegedly “green” energy sources. It is a time of silliness and hypocrisy – with many unintended consequences.

On December 5, 2015, at the Paris Climate Charade, about 178 countries signed an agreement to cut CO2 emissions with the goal of keeping future global warming below 2 degrees Celsius.

This U.N. deal is based on voluntary participation and is virtually unenforceable. It features voluntary emission caps, voluntary progress reviews, no international oversight of any voluntary progress, and voluntary contributions to the U.N. managed slush Fund to mitigate climate change.

Definitely read the rest, which proves the Idiocene (yes, I will steal employ the use of the word as we do on the ‘net) with ends by noting “The term “Idiocene” was coined by the Carbon Sense Coalition, see their graphic here.”

Graphic under the fold

The Donald Schools A Clinton Compliant Media Hackette

Let me say right off the bat, I’m still not a Trump for president supporter or fan. There are too many leftist leaning issues in his past that I do not trust. Maybe he can convince me. But, I do love the way he almost never backs down, especially when the Social Justice Warriors come after him. I wonder if he read Vox Day’s book SJWs Always Lie: Taking Down the Thought Police (it’s free if you have Kindle Unlimited, which is the best $10 a month I spend, but, that’s a different story)

Trump schools news anchor for calling Clinton’s affair ‘alleged’

Donald Trump turned the tables on NBC News’ Savannah Guthrie when she tried to frame Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky as an “alleged” incident.

The “Today” show had the Republican presidential front-runner on live Tuesday to discuss his decision to highlight the sordid past of Hillary Clinton’s husband. It wasn’t long before Guthrie was on the defensive.

“You mention Monica Lewinsky,” Guthrie asked. “Are you saying an alleged extra-marital affair, that of course he has now admitted, is that fair game?”

“Is it alleged? I don’t think that’s alleged,” Trump responded.

“No, he’s admitted it, he’s admitted it,” said Guthrie.

“If he’s admitted it, you don’t have to use the word alleged,” said Trump.

“Right, exactly,” the NBC host conceded.

And that’s the way you turn the tables on SJWs, and liberals in general. They always want to put people on the defensive, change the subject, deflect, make others uncomfortable. Don’t play the game. Notice that I rarely ever play that game in the comments here or elsewhere. The few times I do, it’s because I can make a different point from the deflection. Donald took her deflection comment, turned it around by using that one word “alleged”, and forced her to admit her error.

When dealing with SJWs, you do not admit anything, you don’t apologize, you don’t say they have a point, you don’t go into a shell, you shouldn’t be contrite, and you get everything on the record, whether it be in writing or video. Otherwise, they will use all that to increase their attacks. When you hit them, you hit them hard. You make it painful and personal for them to continue. Because they do want to destroy you, and will take down your family and friends and compatriots in the process as collateral damage, if necessary. It is all about continuing The Narrative.

Good for Trump for not falling for it. Which is a big reason why he’s doing so well. He’s willing to attack back in a way so many Republicans wouldn’t and won’t.

Of course, in SJW World, the Donald was probably being a misogynist and showing his patriarchy by daring to attack back or something.

Virginia’s Democrat Governor Has Snit Fit Over Threat To Take Away His Armed Security

If you remember, a few days ago the Virginia Attorney General unilaterally decided to disallow people from 25 states who have concealed carry permits from carrying while in Virginia, because those states supposedly had looser permitting requirements than Virginia. The said this was a “common sense step.” Anytime a Democrat yammers about “common sense”, it’s usually about limiting rights. And this seemingly violates the actual law, which doesn’t provide for either the Virginia State Police nor the Attorney General’s office, nor the Governor, from removing reciprocity once established. That would be a function of the state legislature.

In response to that, and other gun restrictions, state Sen. Charles W. Carrico Sr (R) has drafted legislation which would reinstate the concealed carry reciprocity, as well as strip Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe of his armed security. This has led to a snit fit from McAuliffe’s office

McAuliffe’s office responded sharply to Carrico’s move, calling it a “reactionary temper tantrum.”

“Reactionary temper tantrums may play well on right-wing blogs, but they don’t make anyone safer,” McAuliffe spokesman Brian Coy told FoxNews.com. “Governor McAuliffe has worked with local, state and federal law enforcement officials to keep guns out of dangerous hands by better enforcing Virginia gun’s safety laws, a common refrain of gun advocates.”

Perhaps the Governor’s office has data on the number of “dangerous” people traveling through Virginia with their concealed carry permits? Or how many have caused problems? He signed an executive order which wants to deal with the “supply and demand” issue and reduce “gun violence.” What better way than to limit the number of people walking around with gun in the area of the governor? If guns are the problem, not the people, then the security should not be armed, which would make the governor, and everyone around him, safer, according to anti-gun activist talking points.

You do also have to love how liberals immediately decide to smear people who disagree with them in a personal way. Oh, and project.

Coy went on to say that Carrico’s attitude is an example of the lack of willingness from Republicans to work with the governor on issues related to gun safety.

“As a gun owner himself, the governor is ready to work with the General Assembly on common sense steps like universal background checks. Unfortunately, Mr. Carrico’s quote is a good representation of the interest he and his colleagues have shown in productive work on this serious issue so far,” Coy said.

Yet, it seems that the Governor has not actually reached out to Republicans. Furthermore, it’s a “my way or the highway” attitude. And it sure seems like McAuliffe is not a happy bunny over the notion of having his armed security being removed.

Here’s two ideas for Senator Carrico: he should offer legislation which makes the Governor ineligible to carry a firearm, whether open or concealed, in any place that private citizens are restricted, which would be in response to Executive Order 50.

He can also, instead of stripping McAuliffe’s armed security, require them all to carry “smart guns”, since McAuliffe was a big proponent of them all the way back in 2000.

Good Grief: 200 Million Americans To Suffer From CRAP

Climate Related Anxiety Psychopathy

In America, 200 Million People Will Suffer ‘Psychological Distress’ From Climate Change

A report published by the National Wildlife Foundation finds that the majority of Americans can expect to suffer mental health problems as a result of global warming and warns that our mental health system is not equipped to handle it.

“The interplay between the climate realities we likely face and the potential psychological fallout from them was the subject of a conference convened in Washington D.C., in March 2009,” write Lise van Susteren, MD, and Kevin J. Doyle, JD, introducing their work. “A highly respected group of experts offered insights. Their thoughts, recommendations and supporting evidence are presented in this report.”

“The Psychological Effects of Global Warming on the United States,” examines the hitherto undiscussed effects of increasingly prevalent extreme weather, sea level rise, drought and other impacts of climate change on mental health. How will we cope with a changing world?

Doesn’t even deserve a facepalm.

Six Moments That Could Haunt Hillary Or Something

I thought this might actually be a random act of journalism from Annie Karni at Politico, alas, no

6 moments that could haunt Hillary Clinton
A few choice remarks and positions from 2015 could damage Clinton’s prospects next year.

What are they?

1) “We now finally are where we need to be” on ISIL: Defending herself against attacks from her Democratic rivals on the debate stage earlier this month, Clinton gave those eager to paint the “Obama-Clinton foreign policy” as weak on terrorism some catnip. “We now finally are where we need to be,” Clinton said of fighting ISIL. “We have a strategy and a commitment to go after ISIS which is a danger to us as well as the region.”

2) Republicans are my enemies: Clinton often talks about reaching across the aisle in the Senate and working with Republicans after the attacks of September 11. But during the first Democratic debate when asked which “enemy are you most proud of,” she smiled, and added to a litany of foes like the National Rifle Association and drug companies, “probably the Republicans.”

3) “What, like with a cloth or something? (her silly and unserious comment about a very serious issue)

4) Guns (she once pitched herself as a gun and 2nd Amendment supporter, now she wants to placate the base with massive gun control, which won’t help win moderates during a general election)

5) Charter schools (she’s all over the place on this one, but must placate the teacher’s unions)

6) Not My Abuela (look, this one is much ado about nothing)

Hillary is going to be dealing with a lot more than just those remarks if, well, when, she earns the Dem nomination. Not only standing up for Bill’s sexual predatory nature, but going after the victims. The lax security and the subsequent fallout in Benghazi, including blaming it publicly on a video no one had seen. No real accomplishments as either a Senator or Secretary of State. Blowing off the Arab Spring and the Iranian Green Revolution. Calling Assad a “reformer”. Declining relations with friends and foes around the world. The list goes on and on. And, you can bet she is going to answer for it. The leading GOP candidates will not be shy, like McCain and Romney, in going after her record hard.
