Cult Of Climastrology Uses MLK To Pimp ‘Climate Change’

Earlier, we had the Washington Post Editorial Board using MLK Day to advocate for hardcore Islamists and violent, rapist refugees. Of course, you didn’t think that someone within the Cult of Climastrology wouldn’t use the occasion to yammer about ‘climate change’, did you?

It seems, though, as if Al Gore’s Climate Reality forgot to follow through on their plan to discuss Hotcoldwetdry in relation to “climate justice” and MLK. Nothing over at Facebook, no follow up tweets. Maybe later?

Would Dr. King be a big believer in ‘climate change’? Only he knows, but, perhaps a man who was fighting for freedom and equality might be a bit annoyed that the people pushing ‘climate change’ tend to be people who are advocating for more governmental control of people.

Democrat Candidates Work To Outdo Each Other On Being Anti-2nd Amendment

The Democrats held a debate Sunday night, the perfect time to make sure as few people as possible watch, a way to ensure that Hillary Clinton can continue her march to her coronation as the Democratic Party Establishment Candidate. They discussed a variety of talking points, including who is the toughest on ownership of firearms by law abiding citizens

(Yahoo News) The three Democratic presidential candidates sparred over gun control early on in their debate in Charleston, S.C., on Sunday night.

Their exchange began with questions about the shifting position of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders on a bill limiting liability for gun manufacturers and sellers whose products are used in crimes. As Sanders has gained in the polls, frontrunner Hillary Clinton has attacked him on the issue.

Though the spotlight was on Clinton and Sanders, the long-shot third-place candidate Martin O’Malley got in the last word on gun control. O’Malley, the former governor of Maryland, argued that both Clinton and Sanders are “inconsistent” on guns. (snip)

The exchange began with the moderators asking Sanders about reversing his position on a 2005 bill that gave some gun manufacturers and sellers immunity from liability. Sanders voted for the legislation, and Clinton had been attacking him for it before he announced a change of heart on Saturday, just before the debate.

Placing liability on the manufacturers for their products working correctly would be a death knell on the industry, which is exactly the point in pushing this issue. Do we sue alcohol makers for people getting drunk and killing themselves or others?

Anyhow, Bernie is super enthused that the NRA has given him a D-minus rating. Hillary has an F. So does O’Malley, who fought back against his two rivals

“When it comes to this issue, I’m the one candidate on this stage that actually brought people together to pass comprehensive gun safety legislation,” he said, later adding, “It did have a ban on combat assault weapons, universal background checks, and you know, we did not interrupt a single person’s hunting season. I’ve never met a self-respecting deer hunter that needed an AR-15 to down a deer.”

A couple points. First, for all his gun safety legislation, many cities in Maryland are very violent, especially Baltimore, which has seen a massive uptick in “gun violence” in 2015. If these universal background checks work so well, what’s up with all the shootings? Why is Baltimore, a city he was mayor of from 2000-2007, known for the massive use of bullet proof plexiglass in stores to protect the workers from extreme violence, often from people illegally in possession of guns?

This may play well to the Democratic base, and those few who actually watch these debates, but it won’t do well during the General election season.

Washington Post Editorial Board Says MLK, Jr., Would Totally Accept Refugees

In case you were unaware, today is Martin Luther King, Jr., Day. As such, it behooves the Washington Post Editorial Board to publish an editorial which proclaims that he would support all the “Syrian” refugees and other Muslims that Mr. Obama wants to import to the United States, an editorial that starts out, unshockingly, with bashing a few Republicans who have called for a temporary hold on bringing in more of these Muslim refugees until we can truly verify who they are.

But on the holiday set aside to honor Martin Luther King Jr., it is worth recalling that tactical consequences are not the principal reason Americans should find the Trump proposal repellent. We are a nation founded on the ideal that every individual has value and deserves to be judged on his or her own merit. Each of us can make choices about the importance, to ourselves, of our racial or national heritage, our religion or lack thereof, our sexual identity. No one else has the right to make those choices for us. Being Muslim, or black, or Irish American doesn’t tell anyone else who you are, much less what you are worth. When we start judging people based on the categories they belong to, we diminish ourselves.

Interesting. If we’re supposed to be judged on our own merit, then, according to the members of the WPEB, we should do away with all quotas, whether they be for school, work, sports, movies, awards, etc. According to the WPEB, groups like the NAACP, Black Lives Matter, and the Congressional Black Caucus should be abolished.

Double interesting, if no one else has the right to make choices for you, per the WPEB, then the WPEB should be against the way women and gays are treated within Islam.

Oh, and as far as judging people based on the categories they belong too? Perhaps the Editorial Board should look at how their paper continually judges negatively all those who fail to follow their WP’s liberal beliefs.

In April 1963, while he was in jail for leading nonviolent demonstrations against segregation in Birmingham, Ala., Dr. King, an Atlanta minister, faced criticism for having come from outside the state to stir up trouble. He rejected the “outside agitator” label. “Anyone who lives inside the United States can never be considered an outsider,” he wrote.

That might leave room to think of foreigners differently; nations have a right to decide who may enter. But Dr. King would have been the first to say that recognizing the humanity of every person is essential in those decisions as in domestic affairs. “We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny,” Dr. King wrote in the same letter. “Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly.”

Don’t you find it interesting that the WPEB, comprised mostly of White Liberal Men, just happens to know exactly what Dr. King would think on this issue?

Perhaps Dr. King might think differently. If we’re using the quote, perhaps he might think that all these refugees directly raping and sexually assaulting women and girls might indirectly affect all of us. Perhaps he might be a bit concerned over the need to provide class on “how not to rape”. Perhaps he might be a bit concerned about the violence and criminality that so many of the refugees bring. Perhaps he might be a bit concerned about how women are treated liked 2nd class citizens within Islam. I dare say Dr. King might know a bit about discrimination, and wouldn’t be too pleased at the way women and gays are treated within Islam.

That’s a precept that can be found in some variation in most of the world’s religions. It’s easy to preach, harder to practice. Our difficulty in sensing our place in that “inescapable network of mutuality” helps explain why a police officer may be more likely to shoot a fleeing suspect who doesn’t look like him, why we may be more forgiving of drug addiction when it afflicts people who do look like us — and why we can harden our hearts to desperate refugee children whose families worship an unfamiliar God.

Except, the majority of these “refugees” arriving in Europe so far tend to be young, fighting age males. One town had to take the extreme step of banning “Syrian” refugees from the public swimming pools because of all the sexual harassment originating from the refugees.

Easier than rewriting all the time. Also, the listing order has to do with how they are added over time, not how good a post is. I just copy and paste from the previous week, then edit. If you see one of the *’s, go ahead and check out the blog anyhow, see if there is an update. I cannot update with my Android during the day.

Iran To See $100 Billion Immediately As Implementation Day Hits

Just a few short days ago, Americans were treated to the view of American Navy members forced to kneel at gun point while their boats were boarded and seized by Iran, and the lone female member was forced to comply with Sharia and wear a hijab. Today, the world’s foremost state sponsor of terrorism is being rewarded

(The Hill) The United States on Saturday lifted sanctions against Iran and announced that four Americans held prisoner in the country will be returning home, in a whirlwind day of diplomacy that cements President Obama’s engagement with Iran as a pillar of his legacy.

The United Nations’ nuclear watchdog certified Iran has fulfilled its promises to prevent it from building a nuclear weapon, after decades of tensions, years of negotiations and months of work to implement the international nuclear deal reached six months ago.

The State Department confirmed moments later that the nuclear deal is now implemented, thereby lifting a slate of sanctions.

In Vienna, Secretary of State John Kerry touted the step as a vindication of diplomacy in the face of doubters.

“I think we have also proven once again why diplomacy must be our first choice and war a last resort,” Kerry said.

Again with the strawman argument that we either go to war with Iran or have peace. Of course, said peace breaks down to Iran pinky swearing to not work on developing nuclear weapons for somewhere in the range of 8 to 10 years, at which point they are pretty much free to do whatever they want, leaving a future president to deal with the mess, all while Iran is flush with cash from selling oil, and flush with even more influence over the Middle East. How does this future president reign in Iran at that point? Would they have any standing to get Europe and the United Nations on board when it’s learned that Iran is once again developing nuclear weapons?

Marco Rubio makes a few salient points

As our men and women in uniform were being used as propaganda props by the world’s foremost state sponsor of terrorism, President Obama was preparing to provide their hostage takers with upwards of $100 billion in sanctions relief and endorse an Iranian nuclear capability.

That relief will begin today, the so-called “Implementation Day” of President Obama’s deeply flawed deal with Iran.  Iran will receive much-needed funds to expand its regional aggression and its support to terrorist groups like Hezbollah.

By channeling this money to Tehran and giving the mullahs international legitimacy, the Obama administration is fueling the greatest growth in Iranian power since the Islamic Republic was established in 1979. What’s worse, for months Iran has telegraphed in word and deed how it plans to utilize this newfound power—namely, to dominate the Middle East and threaten American security.

When President Obama announced the nuclear deal last July, he expressed hope for a new era of cooperation with Iran. Ever since, Tehran has mocked him. Missiles have been fired near a U.S. aircraft carrier.  Iran has violated an international prohibition on tests of ballistic missiles only to have the United States back away from imposing new sanctions for fear of upsetting Iran.  Iran continued to take innocent Americans hostage in an effort to eventually free criminals imprisoned in the U.S.

Fortunately, Iran found a willing partner in Mr. Obama, who was desperate to burnish his “legacy”, forgetting that historians will remember the outcomes of the deal, not just the deeply flawed deal itself.

A glorious victory! What, exactly, does the United States as a country get out of this deal? There are no “anytime, anywhere” inspections. The so-called snap-back sanctions will never happen. Iran gets a lot of money. They see sanctions removed. They are free to continue to spread terror and influence throughout the region. Their economy will grow. What does America get? Searching the Internet, it appears the answer is “nothing”. Even Team Obama cannot say what America gets out of the deal.

(The Atlantic) According to The New York Times, in the final days of talks, a television anchor on a hardline Iranian channel said, “The fact is, Obama needs this deal much more than we do.” She went on: “The American president needs a victory, and only a deal with Iran can give him that. They have retreated on several issues and compromised on their own red lines.” Whether or not this perception is fair, it’s a perception nonetheless, and perceptions drive behavior.

It won’t create peace: in fact, just the opposite. Shouldn’t a deal give something to both parties?

Warmists New Excuse For Great Pause: The Satellites Are Lying

There are now so many excuses for the Pause that Skeptics stopped keeping track. Here’s yet another, and it’s a doozy, via James Delingpole

The climate alarmists have come up with a brilliant new excuse to explain why there has been no “global warming” for nearly 19 years.

Turns out the satellite data is lying.

And to prove it they’ve come up with a glossy new video starring such entirely trustworthy and not at all biased climate experts as Michael “Hockey Stick” Mann , Kevin “Travesty” Trenberth and Ben Santer. (All of these paragons of scientific rectitude feature heavily in the Climategate emails)

The same people who are involved with altering ground level temperature data to conform to their Warmist talking points.

This (satellite) accuracy was acknowledged 25 years ago by NASA, which said that “satellite analysis of the upper atmosphere is more accurate, and should be adopted as the standard way to monitor temperature change.”

But, they are very upset over the satellites refusing to cooperate with their computer models of warming doom

More recently, though, climate alarmists have grown increasingly resentful of the satellite temperature record because of its pesky refusal to show the warming trend they’d like it to show. Instead of warming, the RSS and UAH satellite data shows that the earth’s temperatures have remained flat for over 18 years – the so-called “Pause.”

Hence the alarmists’ preference for the land- and sea-based temperature datasets whichdo show a warming trend – especially after the raw data has been adjusted in the right direction. Climate realists, however, counter that these records have all the integrity of Enron’s accounting system or of Hillary’s word on what really happened in Benghazi.

Unfortunately for the Cult of Climastrology members, the balloon atmosphere data agrees with the satellite data. Bummer. And, as John Christy points out

I’m impressed someone went to so much trouble and expense.  The “satellite data” must be a real problem for someone. Do we know who financed this video?

Yes, they do. A smattering of the typical far, far left Progressive (nice fascist) people and groups. The video is about pushing political policy, not science.

Obama Tackles The Tough Issues In Youtube Interviews, Like Why Tampons Are Taxed

An unserious president talking with unserious liberals on mostly unserious subjects

(Breitbart) Obama hosted a series of interviews with YouTube personalities this afternoon, including one interview with Ingrid Nilsen, a woman who asked why tampons and pads for women were frequently taxed as a “luxury goods” in nearly 40 states.

“I don’t know anyone who has a period that thinks it’s a luxury,” Nilsen said. “It’s something that’s part of our everyday lives and is really crucial to our health as women.”

Obama chuckled. “I think that’s fair to say – Michelle would agree with you on that,” he said.

Obama said he had “no idea” why states would tax menstrual products.

“I suspect that it’s because men were making the laws when those taxes were passed.” he added.

I suspect it was simply because most goods are sales taxed in most states, but, hey, this is Liberal World, don’t expect rationality. These are people who demand higher taxes on everything, yet, want an exception for their pet causes, such as the “tampon tax”. As the link in the article notes

Tampons, however, are rarely considered a necessity by state governments, and most states do not allow exemptions for them (nor do they even list them in their tax codes). Yet as every woman who has ever gotten her period knows, feminine hygiene products are not a choice; they’re a required part of being a woman. And the costs for these products can add up.

Do you know what else is a necessity? Food. Yet, most states charge a sales tax for the purchase of…..food. So is soap, hair products, and deodorant. And clothing. Shoes.

Guess what else is expensive and require sales tax to purchase: shaving razors. Why should Men have to pay a world ending average sales tax of 5.45% on a product that is not a choice within the working world?

Funny thing is, if feminine hygiene products where excused from being taxed, Liberals would then complain about the reduction in the state coffers from sales tax.
