Happy Sunday! It’s a beautiful day in America, as summer winds down and we head into fall football season. As a Giants fan, I’ll let you know how nice this season is in a few weeks. This pinup is by Tatiana Doronina, with a wee bit of help.

At the end of the day, in virtually every poll, the top issues are the economy, jobs, and wages. This is what Americans truly care about. Bread and butter issues. All the social justice worker stuff is low hanging fruit. Man-induced climate change is typically last or next to last. Most of the things Hillary talks about are low ranking issues. Why? Because it’s rather hard to make the case to keep doing the same things that have left the economy in the doldrums
The new GDP numbers are terrible. No wonder Hillary won’t talk about the economy
We got revised GDP numbers from the Commerce Department on Friday and the economy actually did slightly WORSE than originally estimated. Growth was 1.1 percent in the second quarter of this year and less than 1 percent for the first six months of 2016. The business sector of the economy has sunk recession territory. Profits are srinking (down 2.4 percent last quarter) so how long can the stock market rise?
The consumer is keeping the economy out of negative territory, but that’s only because we are spending more than we are earning.
How long can that go on? About as long as the housing bubble could inflate without bursting.
For years the polls have shown that Americans are hyper-concerned about the economy and job security. That was when the economy was growing at a meek 2 percent. Now at 1 percent, we aren’t just treading water, more families are being plunged underwater.
Where’s all the growth under Obama’s economic policies? At the top.
The Democrats who keep saying how well the economy is doing seem to be living in an alternative universe. And that’s probably because so many of the leftwing pundits and economists live and work in Washington DC, which really is doing just fine – thank you. DC is booming thanks to the tribute taxpayers from real America send each month to the capital. Three of the five wealthiest counties are around DC. That tells you everything about who is getting rich off liberal government expansion policies.
For all the caterwauling from Democrats about the rich getting rich during the George W Bush era, they don’t seem to have the same zeal to attack the Democratic Party policies that are truly helping the rich at the expense of the lower and middle classes. Not too mention policies that simply hurt the lower and middle classes while growing the size of the federal government.
Hillary says that what the economy really needs now is a tax increase. Crazy. ‎A new study by the National Center for Policy Analysis says that Hillary’s economic plan will eventually shave 1 percent off GDP. That would technically sink the economy down to zero growth.
Interestingly, for a woman making so much money off of speeches and such, she refuses to cut a check to the IRS to match the tax increase she wants on “the rich.” For a goodly chunk of “the rich” raising the income tax level will do little, since their money is so often made off of capital gains. Hillary’s would be directly filed as income. Guess she doesn’t want to pay her fair share voluntarily.
Her jobs plan would kill hundreds of thousands of jobs. Her energy plan would likewise kill lots of jobs and increase the cost of living for Americans. The aforementioned tax plan would reduce the GDP by 1%, meaning zero growth. The Obama/Democrat economic policies have created the worst economic recovery of all time. Manufacturing has not come back. Good paying jobs are getting harder and harder to find. Want to flip a burger or pour coffee? Good news. Base level jobs have grown. But, thanks to Obamacare, hours will be tightly controlled.
Trump must hammer Hillary and Obama on these abysmal economic developments. What is needed? ‎Tax cuts. Deregulation. American energy production. Repeal of Obamacare. He should talk about little else if he wants to win.
Sage advice. If Trump wants to win, he needs to spend the bulk of his time talking about the economy, jobs, and wages. All the distractions and personal attacks need to be minimized. And all the gaffes need to be minimized, so that he can get his economic ideas out into public.
You know what else is low hanging fruit? Illegal immigration. The same polls that show things like ‘climate change’ as utterly unimportant when stacked up against real issues also show that dealing with illegal immigration is also not all that important. So, he needs to minimize discussion of illegal immigration, and mostly discuss it in terms of the economy and jobs. Attack Hillary and Democrats on their ideas/policies from an economic point of view. ‘Climate change’? Discuss how this will harm people’s livelyhoods and cost of living. The over the top spending, rising deficit, horrific government debt, out of control regulations. Discuss them, and make them personal to citizens.
Bill Clinton’s advisor had an internal message for his people “The economy, stupid”, which morphed to “it’s the economy, stupid.” Yes. He’s right. People are going to care about what effects them. A second, less know internal saying was “change vs more of the same.” This is what Trump needs to do. The economy and “do people want to continue doing what hasn’t worked?” The primaries are long over. The general election is coming up fast. Hit Hillary and Obama on the subjects that people care about.

In what may be the most Canadian crime in recent memory, a man wearing “goalie pads, blocker and trapper and carrying a goalie stick” was evidently looking for post-game refreshments and broke into a Russell beer store early Monday.
“It was different,” RCMP Cpl. Brett Church said Thursday. “I’ve never seen that before. Very bizarre.”
The thief had help. An accomplice threw a rock through a glass door and went into at the vendor at about 2:40 a.m., and was followed inside by the nefarious netminder.
“He was wearing everything but a (goalie) mask,” Church said, adding the man had a tuque pulled down over his head.

But, can you guess what the two problems making this not the best Canadian heist are?
Early Monday morning, the rock went through the entrance door — and the bandits made off with three cases.
“Budweiser,” Betke said.
Budweiser? Not Molson, Labatts, or Moosehead? Seriously? That’s the first problem.
The second? There’s been no apology.
Oh, and BTW
Betke (manager of the store) said she provided the RCMP with surveillance video without seeing it first. She learned it was a hockey-themed heist when she read the RCMP report published Tuesday in theRussell Banner.
“I just laughed out loud,” she said.
She apologized for laughing too loud, then apologized for chastising the crook for stealing bad beer.

We can add this one on to Earth Day, Earth Hour, and all the various other spreading awareness times that accomplish nothing but make Warmists feel smug in righteousness, and then go right back to their big carbon footprint ways
When the representatives of several faith communities gather in Albany on Thursday for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, it will demonstrate how far environmentalism has moved into the mainstream of religious and political life.
Unfortunately, this is almost solely about Hotcoldwetdry, not environmentalism.
After all, the history of religion and environmentalism in America has been overwhelmingly Protestant. John Muir, Henry David Thoreau and Theodore Roosevelt were Protestant environmentalists. But they lived at a time when people of other faiths sometimes had difficulty entering the mainstream conversation.
They cared about the actual environment, not a made up issue that turns the environment into a lower level issue.
The World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation was instituted for Catholics last year by Pope Francis. Bishop Edward Scharfenberger of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany will be the featured speaker. Representatives of other religions will offer prayers, scripture readings and comments about what their communities are doing. It will take place from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, at Eagle Street and Madison Avenue.
It will be held September 1st. And we’ll see lots of Warmists taking fossil fueled trips to church and such to whine about fossil fuels. If only they’d spend more time being concerned about real issues, but, much like so many other segments, religion is being destroyed from within by liberals.

As you noticed, Donald Trump is making an appeal for the Black vote, telling blacks specifically what the problems are in their communities and putting the blame on Democrats in a manner you never hear from Republicans. Democrats have locked down the black vote since the 70’s, and what has it gotten blacks? Take a look at Democrat run cities, and the violence, the unemployment, the poverty, the poor schools for blacks.
(NY Post) Hillary Clinton claims that some of Donald Trump’s appeal is “xenophobic, racist, misogynistic.†On Thursday she asked, “If he doesn’t respect all Americans, how can he serve all Americans?â€
But who actually cares more about blacks, in particular poor blacks?
On everything from education to jobs to crime, Trump’s policies offer a lifeline to people who have been losing ground for decades. Hillary’s policies will just exacerbate them. And no amount of speeches will change that.
On education, Trump strongly supports school choice. This would give inner-city blacks a way out of horribly performing public schools. Clinton attacks charters and clearly opposes other forms of school choice, opting to protect teachers unions at the expense of students.
And who’s harmed the most by illegal immigration? Who’s most likely to suffer unemployment or wage reductions due to the added competition? Young, unskilled blacks and Hispanics. The biggest beneficiaries? Wealthy people who get to pay less for lawn care and housecleaning.
When it comes to crime, blacks and Hispanics are often trapped in the high crime areas created in Democratic Party run cities by Democratic Party policies. Hillary wants to release more felons from jail. Trump wants to increase police support in the high crime areas. Hillary supports Black Lives Matter and their hatred of cops, and wants to make the jobs of police more difficult. Trump supports the police.
Hillary supports making it more difficult for people living in these high crime areas to obtain a firearm to protect themselves and their families from the very crime created by Democratic Party policies. Trump supports citizen’s rights to own a firearm.
Democrats clearly haven’t served blacks well, and more of the same isn’t going to help. If blacks are willing to listen to Trump, his logical arguments may have a real chance of winning them over.
Of course, the media is spinning furiously for Hillary and Democrats, because, somehow Trump policies that would provide school choice, better education opportunities, better job opportunities, lower crime, a higher standard of living, safer communities, and so forth, essentially rolling back all the damage done by Democratic Party policies, would be bad. Well, bad for the elections of Democrats. They treat blacks (and Hispanics, gays, etc) simply as a voting block, not as people with hopes and dreams. They take them for granted. Dems promise government largess, and have failed the black community.
As Trump said “What do you have to lose by trying something new?”
While virtually everyone else is saying that the planned Obamacare premium hikes are a bad thing, Team Obama is spinning furiously
(IBD) This week Illinois’ insurance regulator said ObamaCare premiums in the state will jump as high as 55%. The Obama administration’s response to this and other news of massive rate hikes: Don’t worry. Be happy.
Anyone shopping for ObamaCare coverage in Illinois this fall is in for a big shock. The average increase for cheap Bronze plans is likely 44%. It’s 45% for the lowest-cost Silver plan, and 55% for the cheapest Gold plan.
These are the kinds of rate hikes individuals buying insurance will see across the country, as insurers who’ve suffered massive losses are getting huge double-digit premium increases approved by state regulators.
Fewer choices and higher costs are not what President Obama promised when he signed ObamaCare into law.
But now, in the face of this market meltdown, the Obama administration put out a report this week that says, if anything, massive rate hikes are good for ObamaCare enrollees.
The gist of the report is that enrollees won’t even notice the hikes, because their plans are subsidized, and even claims that the bigger the premium hike, the better it is, because Ocare was designed that way. They claim that the higher the premiums go, the more people will get the subsidies.
But this analysis leaves out two important groups: the taxpayers who must pay vastly increased subsidy costs, and the millions of people who aren’t eligible for any ObamaCare subsidies.
Since subsidy money doesn’t grow on trees, those huge rate increases will mean that ObamaCare costs far more than expected, which means taxpayers will have to fork over still more money to cover the subsidies.
Somebody has to pay for this, and it means either higher taxes, shifting money from other government projects, more debt, and/or lowered Ocare services.
Furthermore, roughly 10% receive no subsidies at all, and another 700,000 receive limited subsidies. Furthermore
What’s more, there are nearly 8 million who bought individual plans outside the ObamaCare exchanges. These plans have to comply with all the same ObamaCare rules and regulations, but aren’t eligible for any subsidies.
So, we have premiums going way up, health insurance providers dropping out left and right from Ocare, fewer doctors and medical facilities accepting Ocare, deductibles going up, and a host of other problems. The number of covered by Ocare is half of what was intended, and healthy people are still not joining. Kinda everything opponents said would happen.

The new birthers: Debunking the Hillary Clinton health conspiracy
From Donald Trump and his top surrogates to the right-wing media and its engine rooms of outrage in the blogosphere, Hillary Clinton’s opponents are ramping up efforts to sow doubt over the candidate’s health.
Much in the way “birthers” (Trump was among the most prominent) sought similar ends by questioning President Barack Obama’s citizenship, the “healthers” are using junk science and conspiracy theories to argue that Clinton is suffering from a series of debilitating brain injuries.
In an interview on “Fox News Sunday” this weekend, former New York City mayor and Trump surrogate Rudy Giuliani first accused the mainstream media of hiding evidence, then encouraged doubters to “go online and put down ‘Hillary Clinton illness.'”
There is absolutely no credible evidence to backstop any of these claims, including on the “videos” Giuliani cited. Clinton’s physician — the only person to speak on the record who has actually examined her — has repeatedly affirmed the former secretary of state’s health and fitness for the highest office in the land.
So, let me ask: if only one person has spoken on the record, and hasn’t provided the same level of health records demanded of John McCain, then how do we know? This is the same CNN that ran multiple stories, both print and on TV, about this. For instance, Dr. Sanjay Gupta ran a special on April 1, 2008, all about McCain’s health.
And then this one: McCain faces questions on age, health. There were serious concerns over McCain’s past skin cancers and his age (it was a video no longer coming up).
And CNN wasn’t quite as accepting of what McCain’s doctor said, going as far as to note that “According to the American Cancer Society, such a melanoma would be classified as Stage IIA, which is associated with a five-year survival rate of about 78 percent and a 10-year survival rate of about 66 percent.” The article digs deep into his health.
And here we are again, in an article about McCain allowing a peek at his records: “McCain, a cancer survivor, is particularly under pressure to prove to the public that he is physically fit for office.”
Yet, with Hillary, CNN will not only take her word, they will defend her. Because there’s no reason to prove to the public that she is physically fit for the office, right?
