You Should Have A Merry Low Carbon Christmas Or Something

Have yourself a merry low-carbon Christmas
Give the world a present this Christmas and New Year period and cut down on those carbon emissions. Here are 5 ways to do that.

December kicks off a two-month-long season of joy, giving, and feasting as Christmas and the Lunar New Year roll into town in quick succession.

But the story is an all too familiar one: cooking up a storm for Christmas dinner, receiving too many Christmas presents, bundling crisp dollar bills in single-use red packets, spring cleaning the house, only to throw the excess and unwanted down the chute by the end of the season.

A lot of waste is generated during the festive season as we increase our consumption and disposal of goods, with most ending up in incinerators to churn out greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change.

Here’s a suggestion: all Warmists should stay home and eat the raw veggies they grow in their backyard gardens, sitting in the dark, because even candles are bad for ‘climate change’. In this way, they keep their insanity, cultish talking points, and miserable doomy selves away from everyone else enjoying the season.

The article offers 5 ideas to reduce Other People’s carbon footprints, which are the same old tired and recycled ones you’ve read time and time again. The thing is, most of the ideas are actually sound ideas from a charity and true environmental standpoint. As usual, the Cult has taken them for themselves.

Man Who Loves Executive Orders Warns Next About Using Same

The crazy thing here is that Obama seems sincere, and does not understand his hypocrisy and silliness

(UPI) With about one month to go before he leaves office, President Barack Obama gave some exit interview-type advice to his successor Donald Trump: Don’t rely too heavily on executive orders.

In an interview with NPR’s Steve Inskeep on Thursday that aired in its entirety Monday on Morning Edition, Obama said it’s preferable to work with Congress.

“Keep in mind, though, that my strong preference has always been to legislate when I can get legislation done,” Obama said from the Cabinet Room in the White House. “In my first two years, I wasn’t relying on executive powers, because I had big majorities in the Congress and we were able to get bills done, get bills passed. And even after we lost the majorities in Congress, I bent over backwards consistently to try to find compromise and a legislative solution to some of the big problems that we’ve got — a classic example being immigration reform, where I held off for years in taking some of the executive actions that I ultimately took in pursuit of a bipartisan solution — one that, by the way, did pass through the Senate on a bipartisan basis with our help.”

“So my suggestion to the president-elect is, you know, going through the legislative process is always better, in part because it’s harder to undo,” he said.

Obama’s idea of the legislative process is to write some suggestions on a sticky note with a few ideas he’d like done, then complain, cast blame, and demean Republicans before even discussing the ideas with the same legislative branch. Then either sign an EO or jam through a rule/regulation.

Sore Loser Symphony: It’s Time To Abolish The Electoral College

It’s now official, at least as far as the Electoral College certifying their votes (hilariously, of the 7 who did not hold faith, most switched their vote away from Hillary), that Donald Trump is the president elect. After all the caterwauling and machinations from the mostly Democratic Party sore losers, which came after all the calls for Trump and his people to respect and honor the election outcome, Democrats lost again. So, we get a bit of Sore Loser Symphony from the NY Times Editorial Board (among others)

Time to End the Electoral College

By overwhelming majorities, Americans would prefer to elect the president by direct popular vote, not filtered through the antiquated mechanism of the Electoral College. They understand, on a gut level, the basic fairness of awarding the nation’s highest office on the same basis as every other elected office — to the person who gets the most votes.

Which goes to show that our education system on the Constitution and the way our federal republic works is horrendous.

But for now, the presidency is still decided by 538 electors. And on Monday, despite much talk in recent weeks about urging those electors to block Donald Trump from the White House, a majority did as expected and cast their ballots for him — a result Congress will ratify next month.

And so for the second time in 16 years, the candidate who lost the popular vote has won the presidency. Unlike 2000, it wasn’t even close. Hillary Clinton beat Mr. Trump by more than 2.8 million votes, or 2.1 percent of the electorate. That’s a wider margin than 10 winning candidates enjoyed and the biggest deficit for an incoming president since the 19th century.

Yes, Mr. Trump won under the rules, but the rules should change so that a presidential election reflects the will of Americans and promotes a more participatory democracy.

Le sigh. Does it really need pointing out that we don’t have a democracy, we have a federal republic, and we have it for a reason? That the system was set up because states are big, many of them bigger than the European nations most people had come from at the time? I won’t provide links: anyone who doesn’t understand needs to reflect on just how their schools failed them.

The Electoral College, which is written into the Constitution, is more than just a vestige of the founding era; it is a living symbol of America’s original sin. When slavery was the law of the land, a direct popular vote would have disadvantaged the Southern states, with their large disenfranchised populations. Counting those men and women as three-fifths of a white person, as the Constitution originally did, gave the slave states more electoral votes.

There’s so much either incompetence and lack of knowledge or willful misunderstanding, it would be hard to know where to fisk it. So, why bother? These people are sore losers, and have reverted to their raaaaacism theme, which is a typical sign that a Democrat really has no adult argument.

The Sore Loser Symphony continues on for a few more paragraphs, but, Democrats should remember, things do not always turn out the way they expect them to. It looks great on paper, then, say, Republicans in Democrat states which almost never vote Republican realize that their votes actually matter, and they get out and vote for the GOP instead of voting 3rd party, not voting President, or just staying home.

You know, though, if the situation was reverse the NY Times and other Sore Losers would be telling us how prescient and awesome the Framers were in setting up this system.

With Charlotte Move, NC’s Gender Confused Law Should Soon Be Repealed

This whole thing started because the Charlotte City council decided they were going to force private businesses to allow the gender confused to use whatever bathrooms, locker rooms, and changing rooms the wanted, and to hell with costs and privacy issues. The first time they tried, the measure failed. The GOP controlled General Assembly warned them not to attempt it again. They did. And, we ended up with HB2

(WTVD) The Charlotte City Council voted Monday to repeal a bathroom ordinance passed in early 2016 that led to the General Assembly convening a special session to pass North Carolina’s controversial HB2 law. Within minutes, Governor-elect Roy Cooper said the controversial state law will be repealed too. Governor Pat McCrory confirmed he will call for a special session for that purpose.

Charlotte’s law made businesses allow people to use the bathroom corresponding to their gender identity.

In response, HB2 requires people to use the restroom according to their biological sex listed on their birth certificate in government buildings, schools, and universities. It also blocks municipalities from adopting their own anti-discrimination rules.

It looks pretty sure to occur, based on what the GOP GA leaders are saying.

However, I have a recommendation. First, there should be a provision that if any other city tries this in NC, the gender confused portion of HB2 will be automatically reinstated.

Second, the repeal law should require that all NCAA and NBA stadiums, Pepsi, Google, and any other private entity that complained, boycotted, etc, be required to have only gender neutral bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers. Since most refused to say whether they practice what they preach, they should be forced to walk the talk.

It May Never Snow For Christmas In Cambridge Again Or Something

The return of the “snowfall is a thing of the past” meme, which started with The Independent, and has since been deleted, probably due to it being yet another failed Warmist prognostication. It certainly hasn’t stopped other Warmist news outlets from trotting out the crazy, because a good talking point, no matter how anti-science it is, will never be discarded by the Cult of Climastrology. Here we go again

Why it may never snow again in Cambridge at Christmas

Dreaming of a white Christmas just like the ones you used to know? Unfortunately snowfall on Christmas day may be a thing of the past, as climate change causes temperatures to rise in December.

According to figures released by the Met Office, we are more likely to see snowfall between January and February than December.

Oli Clayton, a spokesperson at the Met Office, told the News ,:“Climate change has also brought higher average temperatures over land and sea, which has generally reduced the chances of a white Christmas.”

The Met Office is renowned for getting their predictions right, ya know.

“Typically, in December there are only two days where snow settles on the ground, and in December the chances of those two days happening on Christmas are quite slim.”

Cambridge had its last white Christmas in 2010, which Dr Cain said was a “surprise”. She added: “As the UK’s average temperatures are increasing, snow on the ground is less frequent as temperatures are not dropping below zero. When Cambridge had a white Christmas in 2010 it was an unusually cold patch, and it took us all by surprise as it was out of the ordinary.”

So, wait: the chances of a white Christmas, heck, snowfall in December, is already historically unlikely? So, it’s just the normal climate, not Hotcoldwetdry?

Professor Aled Jones, director of the Global Sustainability Institute at Anglia Ruskin University, said: “It is 200 years since we have regularly had white Christmases in the UK so it is not likely we will have a snowfall in the next two weeks. Although a lot of factors impact the weather, weather patterns are shifting due to climate change, which is creating warmer and wetter Decembers.”

So, it was apparently normal back during the Little Ice Age, but, in what is a typical Holocene Warm Period, it has to be due to people driving fossil fueled vehicles. These people think you’re stupid. Sadly, a goodly chunk of their disciples are stupid.

New York Is Super Proud To Be A Sanctuary City

You’re probably thinking “wait, NYC is a sanctuary city for illegal aliens? I thought Democrats told us that they didn’t really exist? Even Hillary’s running mate, Tim Kaine, said they were a myth. It’s not like there’s a map (which is incomplete). Or a list (more complete). Or that many Progressive (nice fascist) cities like San Francisco declare openly that they’re sanctuary cities. Now we have the Editorial Board of the NY Times

Proud to Be a Sanctuary City

If the next president’s immigration agenda includes a pitched battle over “sanctuary” cities, a term Donald Trump uses with disgust, the proper response from places like New York will be: Bring it on.

The word “sanctuary” as Mr. Trump deploys it — a place where immigrant criminals run amok, shielded from the long arm of federal law — is grossly misleading, because cities with “sanctuary” policies cannot obstruct federal enforcement and do not try to. Instead, they do what they can to welcome and support immigrants, including the unauthorized, and choose not to participate in deportation crackdowns they see as unjust, self-defeating and harmful to public safety.

In other words, the 2nd sentence contradicts the 1st, as they work to obstruct federal laws and enforcement, typically by refusing to not even bother checking immigration status, and, if they do, not bothering to either alert federal authorities and/or simply releasing them.

New York City wears that kind of “sanctuary” label proudly. As California considers bold steps to shield its residents from a possible Trump immigration assault, the New York City Council has already built its own strong web of protections. A groundbreaking City Council program has provided free legal representation for children who fled violence in Central America and arrived unaccompanied at the border. Of 1,265 cases accepted under the program, 72 children were granted asylum and 55 obtained lawful permanent residency. The Council has expanded health and legal services in immigrant communities. And it passed bills to keep federal immigration agents out of the Rikers Island jails, and to forbid city police and corrections officers from detaining suspects for deportation, unless there is a judge’s warrant.

Here’s a bold solution: The GOP Congress should remove federal funding for sanctuary cities for law enforcement, and President Trump should invite all illegals to move to the sanctuary cities. He should say “if you’re there, we won’t come after you.” Federal law enforcement should refuse to investigate crimes in the sanctuary cities. And, as crime explodes, as the city budgets explode, as urban blight increases, as urban poverty increases, as the cities become run down and trash ridden, moving towards Mogadishu status, we’ll all laugh and laugh and laugh.

NY Times Has Great News: Our Republic Is Ending, Becoming Either Nazi Germany Or The Roman Empire!

The Sore Loser Symphony continues. Trump Derangement Syndrome reigns. Buzzfeed’s Chris Geidner lays out the Sore Loser playbook for how Democrats will attempt to block Trump. Michael Moore has his own Sore Loser request for the Electoral College. And then there’s Sore Loser Paul Krugman, who had nary a bad word or complaint about Obama during the past 8 years, proclaiming we’re either heading towards Nazi Germany or the Roman Empire

How Republics End

Many people are reacting to the rise of Trumpism and nativist movements in Europe by reading history — specifically, the history of the 1930s. And they are right to do so. It takes willful blindness not to see the parallels between the rise of fascism and our current political nightmare.

It sounds like some people need Prozac, or at least to get off the current drugs they’re on.

But the ’30s isn’t the only era with lessons to teach us. Lately I’ve been reading a lot about the ancient world. Initially, I have to admit, I was doing it for entertainment and as a refuge from news that gets worse with each passing day. But I couldn’t help noticing the contemporary resonances of some Roman history — specifically, the tale of how the Roman Republic fell.

Here’s what I learned: Republican institutions don’t protect against tyranny when powerful people start defying political norms. And tyranny, when it comes, can flourish even while maintaining a republican facade.

His main complaint is, you guessed it, about foreign influence. And because of that

And what happens to the republic as a result? Famously, on paper the transformation of Rome from republic to empire never happened. Officially, imperial Rome was still ruled by a Senate that just happened to defer to the emperor, whose title originally just meant “commander,” on everything that mattered. We may not go down exactly the same route — although are we even sure of that? — but the process of destroying democratic substance while preserving forms is already underway.

Interesting. Where were Krugman’s complaints when the IRS was abusing its power? When Obama and his people were slamming through more and more regulations, including the vile and oppressive Waters Of The United States and Clean Power Plan, putting more and more power and control in the hands of Los Federales? When Obama and the Dems jammed through Obamacare over the will of The People?

Krugman has a few more complaints, putting the blame on Republicans (hey, remember when Republicans tried to investigate governmental wrong-doing, and had their investigations slow walked by Democrats and the Obama admin? Remember all the regulations from Obama that have been blocked and he’s ignored what the federal judges said “don’t do this”?), of course, ending with

One thing all of this makes clear is that the sickness of American politics didn’t begin with Donald Trump, any more than the sickness of the Roman Republic began with Caesar. The erosion of democratic foundations has been underway for decades, and there’s no guarantee that we will ever be able to recover.

But if there is any hope of redemption, it will have to begin with a clear recognition of how bad things are. American democracy is very much on the edge.

Well, hey, Paul, I have a solution. First, term limits for Congress. Second, repeal the 17 Amendment, let States appoint their Senators. Third, reduce the size and scope of federal agencies. Those three things will put more power back in the hands of the states and the people, as it’s supposed to be, and limit elected officials “toeing the party line and defending the party’s rule.”

Furthermore, get rid of public unions. Follow federal laws, like on immigration. Protect the borders. Make sure that people voting are actually eligible to vote.

You’re still nuts, though.
