“Study”: Global Warming Is Real And The Oceans Are Eating It Or Something

Another recitation of Cult of Climastrology talking points

Yet another study concludes that global warming is real

A new look at historical ocean temperatures confirms what climate models have already said: The ocean – and therefore the world – is heating up.

Abraham: “Turns out 93 percent of the global warming heat goes into the ocean. So if you really want to know global warming, you’ve really got to measure ocean warming.”

A couple points on this “study”

  • There is no link to the study included in the piece, which is from Yale Climate Connections
  • This is not proof of anthropogenic causation. Just warming. Which happens in periods throughout the Holocene (and sure other periods)
  • YCC is very much a Cult of Climastrology propaganda outlet, so we can infer that they mean man-caused climate change is causing the warming which is being eaten by the oceans.
  • There’s no explanation as to why this suddenly seemed to happen recently, but not necessarily in the past.

But, then, this isn’t about science.

Democrats Say Immigration Could Hurt Republicans In 2018 Or Something

If Donald Trump and the GOP do not defend people who are unlawfully present in the United States, it could mean doom, because people who tend to not vote GOP will not vote GOP again

Immigration controversy could hurt GOP, Democratic poll finds

President Donald Trump’s immigration policies could take Texas and other states with big Latino populations down the same path as reliably Democratic California – if Republicans in Congress don’t support the Dream Act, a new Democratic poll suggests.

Leaders of the Latino Victory Project, which paid for the nationwide poll, found Hispanic voters overwhelmingly disapprove of Trump after his first eight months in office. Trump won 28 percent of the Latino vote in the 2016 election, according to exit polls. The new survey, conducted earlier this month, showed 24 percent approve of the job he’s doing now.

And unlike polling conducted before the 2016 presidential election, Latino voters in this survey ranked immigration issues as their top priority for Congress and the White House to address – overtaking jobs and the economy, which led Hispanic voters’ concerns last year.

Republicans countered Wednesday that Democrats won’t be able flip red states on immigration issues alone. They cited disorganized Democratic state parties and past Republican success with Hispanic voters among their reasons.

If anyone can actually find the poll, let me know. It’s not linked at any article I’ve seen. It’s not available at the Latino Victory Project (which was launched be Eva Longoria, who is a massive supporter of illegal immigration and open borders).

Regardless, if Latinos are more concerned with protecting people who’ve broken the law, that’s on them, and will not effectively change the outcomes of elections, particularly when opponents of illegal immigration will get up and vote when they see supporters of illegal immigration demanding amnesty.

What this is really all about is attempting to sway elected officials (primarily Republicans), who depend on people voting for them, to get scared over the prospect of losing votes (from people that won’t vote for them anyhow) and get on the pro-amnesty bandwagon. Sadly, many Republicans will buy into this, as they have before.

Trump Offers Plan To Lower Taxes For All, Obviously Leads To Screeching About Tax Cuts For Rich

Realistically, Trump (or any Republican) could offer a plan that specifically raises taxes on corporations and The Rich, and it’d still be called tax cuts for the rich

(Breitbart) President Donald Trump announced the framework of his tax plan Wednesday afternoon, boasting that it would restore the American dream for working families.

“This is the right time. Democrats and Republicans in Congress should come together to deliver this giant win for the American people and begin the middle-class miracle once again,” Trump said as the crowd applauded. “It’s also called a miracle for our great companies.”

The president traveled to Indiana for his speech, noting that under Governor Mike Pence the state made impressive economic gains as a result of lower taxes and regulations. He spoke at the Farm Bureau Building at the state fairgrounds in Indianapolis.

He wants the average family to fill out one piece of paper when doing their taxes. And some of what he is looking to enact

Trump promoted the idea of cutting taxes for working-class Americans, allowing the first $12,000 of earned income to remain tax-free — $24,000 for married couples.

He promoted three different tax rates of 12 percent, 25 percent, and 35 percent for different income brackets.

The president promoted pro-family policies like the expansion of the child tax credit and eliminating the marriage penalties. He also promoted a $500 tax credit for dependent adults or the elderly. His framework also included a plan to eliminate the alternative minimum tax and end the “death tax” permanently.

Trump said his plan aims to cap the tax rate for millions of small businesses and farms at 25 percent and allow them to write off the cost of equipment in the same year they purchased it.

You can read the one-pager release from the White House here, and the full framework here. Remember when Obama’s plans were essentially written on sticky notes?

Obviously, this has caused freakouts, like

Trump Tax Plan Benefits Wealthy, Including Trump

which appears in the hard news section, yet reads like an op-ed. Then we have the Editorial Board in apoplexy

A Boondoggle Masquerading as Tax Reform

After months of secret negotiations, the Trump administration and congressional leaders have come up with a tax plan — sort of. What they have really come up with is a wish list of tax cuts for the wealthy, with lots of “we’ll get back to you on that” promises where the details are supposed to be.

This much is clear: The tax “framework” published by Republican leaders on Wednesday would greatly increase the federal deficit, would not turbocharge economic growth and could leave many middle-class families worse off by ending deductions they rely on. It would do little or nothing to improve the lot of the working class, a group President Trump says he is fighting for. It would instead provide a windfall to hedge fund managers, corporate executives, real estate developers and other members of the 1 percent. And can it be just a happy coincidence that Mr. Trump and his family would benefit “bigly” from this plan?

It’s the same old same old complaints from the media elite. They manufacture ways that lowering tax rates for individuals and small businesses aren’t actual cuts. You can tell they really didn’t read the materials from the White House. And, as far as deficits go, the last people who should be complaining about deficits and debt are Democrats.

Much of the Trump plan is about streamlining taxation, things like removing all the different “tax regimes”, which “exist to govern the tax treatment of certain industries and sectors.” Everyone should be taxed the same. And so much more. Considering how many people the NY Times has laid off, and looks to lay off, they’re the last ones who should be whining about knowing how business works.

Warmists Recommend Whole System Change To Stop Hotcoldwetdry

Personally, I would have recommended that the same people who make these recommendation show that they have given up their own use of fossil fuels and made their lives 100% carbon neutral, but, hey, we all know that ‘climate change’ isn’t about science, but about Progressive (nice fascist) policies

Scientists Urge ‘System Change’ to Avoid Catastrophic Climate Change

If the world is to have a serious chance of limiting global warming to the internationally-agreed 2 ℃ limit this century, the transition to renewable energy should happen much more rapidly than current efforts, according to a new study in the journal Science.

The study, by scientists at the universities of Manchester, Sussex, and Oxford, and published on September 22, finds that to meet their carbon emission pledges under the Paris Agreement, governments around the world need to trigger rapid, simultaneous changes across key sectors like electricity, transport, heat, industrial, forestry, and agriculture.

Skipping to the four recommendations

Step 1: Change the whole system, not just its parts

The study urges policymakers, investors, and scientists to focus on “sociotechnical systems,” defined as the “interlinked mix of technologies, infrastructures, organisations, markets, regulations and user practices.” These work together to deliver important social needs, such as personal mobility.

For all the gobbledygook, it is saying “bigger and bigger government, more dominant and controlling government, government taking over parts of the private sector, taking over the economy, and restricting the movement of citizens.

Also, getting rid of capitalism.

Step 2: Link up technologies to make them stronger

At the end, this is about government controlling the energy sector. Much like health care, if the government controls it, it controls you.

Step 3: Wake up people and businesses

Government sponsored propaganda to stamp out Wrongthink.

Step 4: Phase out the old

Not mentioned in that part of phasing out the old in the article vs the study is phasing out capitalism in favor of Progressivism (you can call it Socialism, Marxism, Communism, whatever you want, the end result of authoritarianism is achieved.)

What’s more amazing is that all the little Warmists who say “this is a great idea!!!!” never realize they’re being played by the elites, that the little Warmists will end up at the short end of the stick.

Report: Illegal Aliens Cost US Taxpayers An Average Of $8,075 Per Illegal

Say, for all those who complain about people not having enough money for healthcare, what would $116 billion do?

(Washington Examiner) The swelling population of illegal immigrants and their kids is costing American taxpayers $135 billion a year, the highest ever, driven by free medical care, education and a huge law enforcement bill, according to the the most authoritative report on the issue yet.

And despite claims from pro-illegal immigration advocates that the aliens pay significant off-setting taxes back to federal, state and local treasuries, the Federation for American Immigration Reform report tallied just $19 billion, making the final hit to taxpayers about $116 billion.

State and local governments are getting ravaged by the costs, at over $88 billion. The federal government, by comparison, is getting off easy at $45 billion in costs for illegals.

Let’s break it down further

Over 68 often shocking pages, FAIR documents the average $8,075 in state, local and federal spending for each of the of 12.5 million illegal immigrants and their 4.2 million citizen children.

Broadly, the costs include $29 billion in medical care, $23 billion for law enforcement, $9 billion in welfare, $46 billion for education.

Think about that: another $8,075 not spent on each illegal to funnel to 16.7 million Americans to help them pay the high Obamacare deductibles that make Ocare virtually unusable.

“The United States recoups only about 14 percent of the amount expended annually on illegal aliens. If the same jobs held by illegal aliens were filled by legal workers, at the prevailing market wage, it may safely be presumed that federal, state and local governments would receive higher tax payments,” said FAIR.

It doesn’t matter for most supporters of illegal aliens, because they are looking for new Democratic Party voters, and especially ones who will be reliant of Los Federales for everything, making them beholden to the Government.

Majority Of Adults (almost half of whom don’t watch football) Disagree On Firing Kneeling NFL Players

This is supposed to be a Big Thing from Reuters

A majority of adults disagree with Trump on firing athletes who kneel during anthem: Reuters/Ipsos poll

A majority of Americans disagree with President Donald Trump’s assertion that football players should be fired for kneeling during the national anthem, even though most say they would personally stand during the song, according to an exclusive Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll released on Tuesday.

The Sept. 25-26 poll found that 57 percent of adults do not think the National Football League should fire players who kneel. This included 61 percent of NFL fans who watch at least a few games per season.

The results were split along party lines, however, as 82 percent of Democrats and 29 percent of Republicans disagreed with the president’s comments about firing football players. (full poll results here)

The actual breakdown of respondents is “1,622 people, including 628 Democrats, 583 Republicans and 919 people who watched a football game at least a few times during the season.” 222 respondents were independents Other polls show that the majority who watch football are Republicans with high voting tendencies. Yet, more Democrats in the poll? They want to kill the NFL to start with.

We also learn

In addition, 53 percent of Americans do not think it is appropriate for the president to comment on “how the NFL and its players conduct themselves during the national anthem.”

35% approve. I’m in the “dude, stop, and you shouldn’t have even started camp.” Over course, the breakdown of D/R/I is 76%/26%/59%.

43% strongly/somewhat dissaprove of the way the NFL is handling this, with 36% somewhat strongly approving. 20% do not know. 71% of Republicans, the primary viewers of the NFL, disapprove.

16% say their view is more favorable of NFL, 47% say view hasn’t changed, while 37% say more negative. 67% of Republicans say more negative. I wonder how much money that equates to in lost revenue?

Here’s where it gets really fun

That’s right, 27% never watched football at all last year. 44% of the respondents haven’t watched this year. Without think about potential implications, let’s just note that a large number of included respondents don’t even watch the NFL! What’s the point of including them in a discussion of the NFL? It’s like asking me to comment on bull riding or the NBA: I don’t watch either.

Anyhow, combine this with the reality that DirectTV is allowing customers to receive refunds for their Sunday NFL Ticket football package. They’re getting a lot of calls to cancel.

The Daily Caller highlights another poll

A survey by Remington Research Group found that 64 percent of voters agreewith President Trump and want players to stand for the anthem. The survey also found that 80 percent of voters want less politics in sports, while 51 percent say they are watching less football than in previous years.

Among those watching less football, 69 percent pointed to “Players using the NFL as a stage for their political views” as the primary reason why.

Look, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: it’s not the protest itself, it’s the timing of the protest, and who they’re protesting. What they’ve actually managed to do (besides driving fans from the NFL) is to divide people, instead of bringing people over to their side. Remember the old saying about catching more flies with honey than vinegar? These pampered elitist players and coaches are using vinegar. Especially when they’re following a guy who wore socks depicting cops as pigs. And is a big fan of Malcolm X and Fidel Castro. That doesn’t win people over.

Global Warming Could Be Causing Extreme Cold Snaps Or Something

It’s moving into colder times in the northern hemisphere, so it’s time for the Cult of Climastrology to tell us that heat trapping gasses also cause it to get cold. And not just cold, but extreme cold

Yes, Global Warming Could Be Causing Extreme Cold Snaps

Unusually cold conditions bring out the climate change deniers, who ask how it can be so chilly if the world is warming up. Of course, a few days of inclement weather hardly refute a global trend, but according to one theory, higher temperatures might actually be causing more extreme cold bouts at northern latitudes in winter. The idea, once thought to be pretty out there, has just got more backing.

As the world has warmed, the Arctic Ocean has experienced one of the largest increases in temperature of anywhere on Earth – just as climate models predicted. This has led to a dramatic loss of sea ice, which normally forms an insulating barrier on the top of the ocean. Without this insulation, more heat reaches the atmosphere, causing warming that spans all the way to the stratosphere.

Nevertheless, the stratosphere is very, very cold, particularly over the pole. Normally that does not really affect the rest of the world. “In winter, the freezing Arctic air is normally ‘locked’ by strong circumpolar winds several tens of kilometers high in the atmosphere, known as the stratospheric polar vortex, so that the cold air is confined near the pole,” said Marlene Kretschmer, a graduate student at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, in a statement.

However, Kreschmer is the first author of a paper in the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, showing that extra warmth rising from the polar ocean has frequently weakened the stratospheric polar vortex. This has allowed blasts of bitterly cold air to sweep down on Europe and Russia, which she argues is the reason why these areas have had so many cold Januaries and Februaries in recent years.

Have you ever noticed that they always have some sort of Excuse, some sort of rational, some sort of link, readily available to uphold their cultish beliefs?
