Parkland Gun Grabbers Rally For Gun Grabbing In Gun Grabbing Chicago

Now that Obama is not president, are we allowed to write Chicago without it being considered raaaaacist? Anyhow

Parkland students kick off bus tour in Chicago suburb

Student survivors of February’s shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Friday kicked off their March for Our Lives: Road to Change national tour in Chicago.

Hundreds gathered for the rally at St. Sabina’s Catholic Church on Chicago’s South Side, the Chicago Tribune reported. Among them were featured guests including Chance the Rapper, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz), Jennifer Hudson, and Will.i.am.

The event, dubbed the South Side Peace March, kicked off a 50-plus-stop tour for students who aim to rally young potential voters to register ahead of November’s midterm elections. Student survivors and gun control activists spoke at the rally, touting the importance of taking action.

“Four million people in this country turn 18 this year,” said Jammal Lemy, according to the Tribune. Lemy graduated from Parkland, Florida’s, Marjory Stoneman Douglas in 2016 and lost two close friends in the shooting. “We have the opportunity to empower the youth and to push a voter registration drive.”

Oh, so this is all really about pushing Democrat voter registration. Huh. I wonder how the anti-gun, er, common sense gun control rally worked out?

1 dead, 13 wounded in shootings across Chicago

A 17-year-old boy was found with a gunshot wound that proved fatal, and 13 other people were wounded Saturday and early Sunday in shootings across Chicago, police said.

The most recent shooting took place downtown, about 1:40 a.m. in the 600 block of Lakeshore Drive. A 25-year-old man was walking with a group when an argument erupted and another man shot him in the back, police said. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

The gun grabbers march, er, March For Our Lives, was held in one of much lower crime areas of Chicago. They should have tried in one of the more dangerous ones where gun play is the norm in one of the most 2nd Amendment restrictive cities in the nation.

“Over the summer we’re going to key congressional districts…we’re basically trying to promote the largest youth voter turnout ever in the history of the United States,” Hogg told ABC News’s “Nightline” earlier this month.

Student activists boarded the tour bus at the end of Friday’s rally. The tour is staying in Chicago where they will hold a cookout and voter registration drive on Sunday.

Weird. I thought this was all about gun control? No?

Donald Trump Doesn’t Speak For America On ‘Climate Change’ (scam) Or Something

It’s actually surprising that we haven’t seen more of these “Dear World” type missives in the year and a half that Trump has been president

Dear World: On Climate, Donald Trump Doesn’t Speak for the United States of America
The American people believe in climate change—and are committed to doing something about it.

We are? Is that why Obama crafted the Paris Climate Agreement to avoid the need for Senate approval, and made sure the pledges were not legally binding. Basically, if a country felt like doing something. Voluntary. And why does Doing Something poll so low?

Dear G7 (G6?) Leaders:

First, let me just say on behalf of the United States of America: We are so, so sorry.

Well, at least they aren’t holding up their loopy signs like when Bush was reelected in 2004.

Now, for the intended purpose of my letter: the global fight against climate change. As you know, our president skipped out of the G7 summit early, just before all of you were going to discuss different ways to finance the various carbon-reduction plans made under the terms of the Paris climate agreement. In your jointly authored communiqué—the one that Trump angrily rejected later—you vigorously reaffirm your respective commitments to “ambitious climate action” and “reducing emissions while stimulating innovation, enhancing adaptive capacity, strengthening and financing resilience and reducing vulnerability.” You stipulate the need for an international effort to clean up our shared ocean environments. And you formally dedicate your countries to the essential mission of creating a global carbon-neutral economy before the end of the century, vowing “to promote the fight against climate change through collaborative partnerships and work with all relevant partners.”

Thank you.

Funny that Warmists refuse to pledge to do things in their own lives to go carbon neutral.

But along with this apology for our president’s behavior at the G7 summit, we would also like to assure you that President Trump is wrong about this (just as he is wrong about so many other things). President Trump is not the United States of America—especially when it comes to climate and the environment.

Funny, when Obama was President leftists told us that he was the US of A. Go figure.

The United States hasn’t given up on those goals. Please don’t give up on us.

Sincerely,

Embarrassed in America

These people.

Good News: The ‘Climate Change’ (scam) Apocalypse Is Happening, Per MP Caroline Lucas

In some places it’s simply called “summer”, but, hey, whatever floats your boat, Warmists

Caroline Lucas on Heathrow and climate change: ‘The apocalypse is happening’

The last time I met Caroline Lucas, she was about to stand trial. The Green party co-leader was prosecuted in 2014 following an anti-fracking protest in Balcombe, West Sussex, and was due in court the week after we met, yet her spirits that day were remarkably high. If optimism has been the defining quality of Lucas’s political career, one might say it has served her well: in 2010, she became the first – and remains the only – Green politician elected to parliament and in 2014 she was cleared of all charges. (snip)

The member for Brighton Pavilion had until recently thought the campaign against a third Heathrow runway had been won. “We’d been lulled into a bit of a false sense of security, thinking the government would do – or in this case, not do – what it said it wouldn’t do.” In 2009, the then prime minister, David Cameron, had promised: “The third runway at Heathrow is not going ahead – no ifs, no buts” – but in the Commons last week the transport secretary, Chris Grayling, announced it would be built after all and could be open by 2026. Tory MPs representing constituencies that will be ravaged by the new runway are up in arms; Boris Johnson and Justine Greening and others may yet thwart Grayling’s plan. But, for Lucas, the fight goes way beyond defending villages from bulldozers.

Grayling’s Commons speech did not even mention climate change, yet this omission attracted negligible attention until Lucas tweeted her incredulous dismay – which, I suggest, tells us that most people now think one more runway will make no difference to climate change, but a massive difference to the UK economy. Might they be right? Lucas addresses her reply to the carpet between our chairs, like a pop star performing an old hit she can’t believe anyone could still need to hear again.

“If you measured impact on climate change by each individual action then you’d never be able to talk about the cumulative impact of a set of actions on the climate. We know aviation is one of the fastest growing sources of emissions; we know emissions at altitude are a lot more damaging to the climate than they are at ground level; we know that if Heathrow expands then it’s almost like an arms race between the different airports across Europe, because they’re all in a fight for passengers.”

In other words, that’s saying that Warmists shouldn’t have to practice what they preach to show the way forward, no, they need to use the power of Government to force Everyone Else to behave in a certain manner that complies with Cult of Climastrology dogma.

Growth for jobs? Growth for our kids to leave home and afford a mortgage and enjoy the living standards our parents took for granted? “Growth that is not tackling inequality,” she rejoins. “Growth that’s destroying the planet we depend on. Growth that we know, by simply measuring prosperity in terms of GDP growth, is an incredibly blunt instrument. GDP simply measures the circulation of money in the economy, not whether or not the outcome of using that money is positive or negative. A major pile up on the M5 is wonderful for growth, because it means people go out and buy more cars. But by any other measure of what’s useful or helpful, a pile up on the M5 is bad news.”

Funny how so many Warmists hate Other People making money to have good lives for themselves and their families. It’s like they’re advocating for a government run economic system.

Corbyn would make a convenient culprit, but should the blame not lie ultimately with her party? The Greens are forever predicting environmental catastrophe – if it is not Heathrow, it is plastic or diesel or eating meat – but when the world continues to turn, despite their apocalyptic warnings, does the environmental movement become a casualty of its own hyperbole?

“I don’t think so. I recognise the danger of crying wolf. But when you look at the data – or, indeed, just look around green spaces – the apocalypse is happening. You don’t hear the same birdsong any more. Not that long ago, if you drove at night through the countryside, your windscreen would become full of moths and now there are no moths any more.”

The modern envirowackos have been predicting doom and gloom since the late 60’s, and now they’ve moved on to saying it’s here. And they’ll still be shrieking that message in 30 years while everyone else and nature are doing fine. All while ignoring real environmental issues, or going so bat guano insane that people tune them out.

Witches Unite In D.C. For Gun Control, Hurl Curses

No, this isn’t about Hollywood gun grabbers (like Alyssa Milano) and elected Democrats (Kamala Harris) going to D.C. to protest, wanting to make sure that Other People can’t have firearms to protect themselves and their families, while being surrounded by armed protection people, as well as hurling epithets. Nope

D.C. Area Witches Unite for Gun Control, Hurl Curses at the NRA

Gun control advocates can now boast of a new group of allies joining their dubious coalition: witches.

It kind of makes sense.

We all know that gun control is based mainly on magical thinking.

Its advocates, after all, ask us to believe we’re just a few more “commonsense safety measures” away from a world in which evil people who are otherwise determined to kill others refrain from doing so for fear they might violate a gun control law somewhere along the way.

A related premise is that gun control advocates hold the keys to ending violent behavior once and for all, if only the NRA would release its stranglehold on elected officials and taxpayers would pony up the money for “studies” to substantiate their agenda.

According to website wildhunt.org – which features “modern pagan news & commentary” – “documentary filmmaker” Patrick J. Foust has captured a “spellbinding on Donald Trump and the NRA” led by self-described witch David Salisbury.

Foust said he was inspired to make the film, which he’s dubbed The Binding, after seeing news footage of witches conducting a similar ritual on President Trump shortly after his inauguration.

The Binding’s titular event features Salisbury and seven other witches surrounding a table festooned with, among other things, a cauldron sitting atop a pentacle, as well as “a five-dollar bill painted red — to symbolize blood — and a piece of paper with the huge block letters ‘NRA.’” Salisbury stridently hurls curses at those he characterizes as “merchants of mayhem, profiteers of pain, dealers of death,” who “fatten on the blood of innocents and feast like demons on their corpses!” He continues, “May your thoughts and prayers turn to poison in your mouths.”

Gun Grabbers Planning To Do A Die-In At Disney World

Nothing says “hey, we really want your support” like ruining the vacations that parents spent a long time planning and paying for

Is next National Die-In planned for Disney World?

The group National Die-In appears to be plotting their next visit to Walt Disney World in Orlando.

The student-led group, which says the movement is working to pass common sense gun control to create a better and safer America, tweeted Tuesday: “Can you guess where we’re going next?” with a picture of what appears to be a D in the style of the Disney logo.

During a demonstration, protesters lie in a corpse-like position to signify the effect of shooting massacres.

The question is, will Disney allow this? It is private property, after all, and do they actually want to tick off consumers?

Humorously, if they do get away with it, they’ll be protected by people carrying firearms.

Surprise: Warmist Says Capitalism Is Killing The Planet

Funny how so much of the ‘climate change’ dogma revolves around hardcore Progressive/Marxist/Socialist/etc beliefs

Capitalism is killing the planet and needs to change, says investor Jeremy Grantham

Jeremy Grantham, the longtime investor famous for calling the last two major bubbles in the market, is urging capitalists and “mainstream economists” to recognize the looming threat of climate change.

“Capitalism and mainstream economics simply cannot deal with these problems. Mainstream economics largely ignore [them],” Grantham, who co-founded GMO in 1977, said Tuesday in an impassioned speech at the Morningstar Investment Conference in Chicago. “We deforest the land, we degrade our soils, we pollute and overuse our water and we treat air like an open sewer, and we do it all off the balance sheet.”

This negligence is due in large part to how short-sighted corporations can be, Grantham said. “Anything that happens to a corporation over 25 years out doesn’t exist for them, therefore, as I like to say, grandchildren have no value” to them, he said.

Grantham has been outspoken about his concerns over climate change for years. In 1997, he started the Grantham Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, which gives money to entities that look to protect the environment. Grantham’s company also launched the GMO Climate Change fund last year, which invests in wind and solar companies.

The article doesn’t say what he recommends, but, what are the alternatives to capitalism? Warmists are always saying that the government needs to be in control. They’re authoritarians.

And, interestingly, Grantham made quite a bit of money off of capitalism before deciding he didn’t like it for Other People.

Oh, and how well has Communism and Socialism done in countries like China and the Soviet Union?

Guess Who Knew That Hillary Was Using A Homebrew Server For Her Work?

One guess (via Twitchy)

Hillary “used her private email extensively while outside the United States, including from the territory of sophisticated adversaries”. One of the people she was conversing with was U.S. President Barack Obama. That was scrubbed, and replaced with “another senior government official,” before being totally removed from James Comey’s missive laying out that she broke the law which ended with “never mind.”

https://twitter.com/JamesHasson20/status/1007411019495411712

As NoFilterNetwork tweeted “Been pretty obvious why the FBI beat around the bush with Hillary: Obama White House was implicated.” Many others are saying this was a coverup, which would have succeeded because they all thought Hillary would win easily. What we do know is that POTUS knew Hillary was improperly, and even illegally, using a homebrew server instead of her official, government sanctioned email account to perform government business which included confidential conversations as well as the transmittal of classified material.

You Know That Raccoon Which Climbed A Building? It Has Deeper Meaning Or Something

Remember this guy?

https://twitter.com/ajplus/status/1007511271573524480

A good, cute story. Over to Ruth Ben-ghiat at CNN

The Minnesota raccoon’s journey has a deeper resonance

The small thin body slowly climbs the side of a 25-story skyscraper in St. Paul, Minnesota, clinging on for his life, his narrow paws spread painfully wide. His little face, seen at close range through the windows when he stops to rest, shows fear and exhaustion, but the windows don’t open and the office workers who film him are helpless to intervene.

Through the day and night, as he climbed and slept, the raccoon became a social media star, with his own hashtag (#MPRraccoon). His story had suspense and pathos: a creature that finds himself alone in an unfamiliar and forbidding environment, without access to food or water, embarks on a highly risky journey in order to survive. No wonder people around the world kept vigil.

#MPRraccoon’s story has a happy ending. He made it to the roof and was lured by cat food into a pen to be picked up by St. Paul Wildlife Management, treated and released into an appropriate habitat. “Goodbye friend!” tweeted UBS Plaza, the site of the animal drama.

Wait for it

This animal drama may seem trivial, but the emotion and attention it aroused carry lessons for us in America today. For many other small creatures are now in the midst of journeys they never expected to take, which are unlikely to have the good outcome of #MPRraccoon’s. I am thinking of the children of migrant families who in the last month, in accordance with a new policy of President Donald Trump’s administration, have been forcibly separated from all that is familiar to them, who are on their own journeys of survival, too terrified to fully rest, and often too young to understand what is happening to them and why.

Although José lives in a home, many other children in his situation may end up, like #MPRraccoon, trapped in the human equivalent of pens and cages. Government shelters already house thousands, but now, according to McClatchy, the Department of Health and Human Services — what a misnomer, in this case — is considering building tent cities to house the thousands of children they intend to capture. Texas is one likely site of the kinds of tent cities that are so familiar to us from the news about refugee camps across the world.

The cages were under Obama.

Anyway, you can imagine that this same Trump Derangement Syndrome continues on. Only in Liberal World with TDS do we see a cute story of a trash panda used for hardcore politics.
