Twice Failed Presidential Candidate Wants To Stop Kavanaugh Over ‘Climate Change’

Alternate headline: “Woman who uses vast amounts of fossil fuels and hasn’t seemed to make any changes in her own life to reduce her carbon footprint yammers about something”

(Daily Caller) Former Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton wants supporters to tell their senators to vote against Judge Brett Kavanaugh becoming the newest justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.

Clinton’s main reason for opposing President Donald Trump’s second Supreme Court nominee? Man-made global warming.

“Replacing Kennedy with Kavanaugh would swing the Court to a new, hard-right majority that would rule against curbing greenhouse gases for years—maybe decades—that we can’t afford to waste on inaction,” Clinton wrote in a series of tweets published Friday.

Clinton’s criticism mirrors those of Democratic lawmakers and environmentalists who see Kavanaugh as a roadblock to policies aimed at fighting global warming. One prominent Democratic senator even said Kavanaugh “is the next Scott Pruitt,” referring to the former head of the Environmental Protection Agency.

Clinton and others also worry Kavanaugh’s lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court could frustrate a future Democratic administration’s climate policy goals. The failed presidential candidate cited several examples of Kavanaugh ruling against climate regulations.

Here are a few of her tweets

What she really means is that it would be harder for Democrats to institute middle and lower class harming taxes and fees, along with more control of citizens by the Central Government. But, hey, consider that she did save some fossil fuels and reduced her carbon footprint a bit by failing to visit several states, like Wisconsin, that she needed in order to win the Presidency.

House Passes Bill To Make Deportation Of Criminal Illegal Aliens Easier And Quicker

Who would be surprised that the Democrats mostly objected?

(Washington Post) The House on Friday passed a bill that would restore the federal government’s ability to deport immigrants for a wide variety of violent criminal offenses in a vote that won quick praise from President Trump.

The Community Safety and Security Act aims to address an April Supreme Court ruling that found that the federal definition of a “crime of violence,” which under immigration law prompts the mandatory deportation of a noncitizen, is impermissibly vague. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Karen Handel (R-Ga.), specifically enumerates more than a dozen crimes that would qualify.

The bill passed 247-152, largely along party lines.

Democrats objected to the bill for being rushed to the floor without hearings or an amendment process in committee, though 29 broke ranks and supported it; four libertarian-oriented Republicans opposed it.

It’s a pretty simple bill, H.R. 6691. You can read and comprehend it in about 4 minutes.

Among the offenses that would be considered a “crime of violence” under the bill: “murder, voluntary manslaughter, assault, sexual abuse or aggravated sexual abuse, abusive sexual contact, child abuse, kidnapping, robbery, carjacking, firearms use, burglary, arson, extortion, communication of threats, coercion, fleeing, interference with flight crew members and attendants, domestic violence, hostage taking, stalking, human trafficking, piracy, or a terrorism offense” defined elsewhere in federal law.

So, what’s the problem?

The American Civil Liberties Union and several immigrant-rights groups opposed the bill, and Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, warned its hasty consideration could create unforeseen consequences.

“The Judiciary Committee has had ample time to examine the decision, to hold hearings, to gather input from a range of stakeholders, and to carefully develop legislation through a markup and regular order,” he said Friday on the House floor. “But none of those things have happened. Instead, a bill with significant ramifications for criminal law and immigration cases was introduced just last week, while members were out of town, and is being rushed to the floor today without any adequate opportunity for review by the public, by legal experts, or by stakeholders.”

So, because they couldn’t spend 4 minutes reading the bill, they have a problem? A bill that defines what crimes of violence are, making it easier and faster to deport illegal aliens? It really doesn’t get any more simple for a Congressional bill than this. It’s almost like Democrats do not want to make it easier and quicker to deport illegal aliens that do things like sexually assault children.

Doom: Kavanaugh Had Emails On Sailing!

The Huff Post thinks they found the thing that’s going to sink Judge Brett Kavanaugh

Here’s Another Brett Kavanaugh Email Republicans Didn’t Want You To See

A major issue in Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings is Democratic anger over the limited release of documents related to his time working for President George W. Bush.

Democrats want all the documents from Kavanaugh’s six years in the White House, but Republicans are releasing only ones related to his time as associate counsel ― not the ones from when he was staff secretary. They’re also only getting ones that cleared review by a Bush lawyer, rather than waiting for a full review to be completed by the National Archives.

In response to the outcry, some previously confidential documents were made public Thursday, including a chain where Kavanaugh and his friends were planning a male-bonding trip on a boat from Sept. 7-9, 2001. (Read the emails here and here.)

In one email, an unnamed friend makes a racist joke about whether they’ll get a “rub-n-tug massage session”:

ZOMG! This is horrible! An email that was sent to him! Men being men!

After the trip, there’s lots of virtual high-fiving all around, including an email from Kavanaugh in which he talks about gambling, getting aggressive and keeping secrets. That email was dated Sept. 10, 2001.

This really is the best they have. Here’s how the article author tweeted it

Bummer: Everyday Is A Nightmare For Illegal Alien Family

We’re supposed to sob over this

‘Every day is a nightmare’: Wife of deported father calls for immigration changes

When Cindy Garcia and her two children arrive at their Michigan home, everyone becomes silent.

“Until my husband comes back to us, every day is a nightmare,” she said.

It’s been happening since Jan. 15, the day her husband was deported. Jorge Garcia was living in the U.S. for nearly 30 years.

They’ve tried to obtain his citizenship since 2005.

Advocates say the system needs changed, citing immigration policy problems and differences with immigration courts across the country.

In April, Cindy Garcia’s family took a two-and-a-half week trip to visit her husband. The family says Jorge Garcia has no criminal record, and they’re still working to bring him back to the U.S.

“Every day we relive him leaving. Every day it affects me,” she said. “I have to be grounded. I have to ask for God’s help, I said, because it is very hard to try to not show any type of emotion toward my children because I want them to be strong.”

When people remind Cindy Garcia that the deportation is over, she tells them the nightmare doesn’t disappear. She, her son, Jorge, and her daughter, Soleil, appreciate the chance to visit others, from family to friends, to keep their minds occupied. But when they get back to their home, it’s a constant reminder there’s one less person there.

Sorry, but he was here illegally. This is on him. And the family could move to be with him. There’s no mention of her legal status.

“We’re trying and we’re pushing to get it all out there so people don’t forget about us,” she said. “Don’t forget about the children being left behind — because they’re the ones being affected.”

That’s on Jorge, who knowingly broke U.S. law.

But Garcia said she still hopes the U.S. will improve its pathway for people to become citizens and reunite children with missing parents.

What’s to improve? You apply for citizenship and go through the legal, established process. Not come to the U.S. illegally/overstay your visa then demand you be given citizenship.

Is Everyone Excited For The Big Climate Meeting In San Francisco?

Oh, you weren’t aware of it?

https://twitter.com/WilliamTeach/status/1037834190761484288

Well, they’re going to have a big march prior to it (I looked, but didn’t find a direct San Fran story about it)

(Post Crescent) A crowd is expected to gather downtown Saturday (in Appleton, Wisconsin) morning as part of a global effort to draw attention to climate change.

The Saturday demonstration will coincide with at least 630 others in more than 80 countries as part of a coordinated event known as Rise for Climate, set to take place four days before the start of the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco.

Alan Lawrence, a Sierra Club leader from Appleton, organized the local demonstration, which is expected to begin at 10:30 a.m. on the sidewalks near Houdini Plaza.

Lawrence isn’t planning to have any speakers at the event, but expects a crowd of between 50 and 100 people will bring signs and be visible downtown for about an hour that morning.

And then they’ll all jump in their fossil fueled vehicles to return home.

Global Climate Action Summit heats up next week

Environmental leaders and activists from around the world will gather next week at San Francisco’s Moscone Center to discuss ways to continue combating climate change.

The three-day Global Climate Action Summit from Sept. 12-14 will feature international and local leaders from states, regions, cities and businesses along with national government leaders, scientists, students, nonprofits and others “in a new wave of mobilization,” organizers said.

The co-chairs of the summit include Gov. Jerry Brown and entrepreneur and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Bloomberg is the United Nations secretary general’s special envoy for climate action.

You have people coming from Hawaii. They’ll be arriving on carbon neutral sailing ships, right? They’ll be people from all around the world, making long fossil fueled trips, a few months ahead of taking more fossil fueled trips to Poland in December for COP 24. I hope they enjoy the sights in San Francisco, a city built by fossil fuels, with it’s most famous icon, the Gold Gate Bridge, a monument built for fossil fueled vehicles.

That, and all the poop and used drug needles, urination in the streets, open drug use, and so forth.

Zina Bash Trolls The Unhinged With Another OK Sign

Remember the freakout from this the other day?

I’m wondering if she knows sign language, or had watched the video and had a message for a Democrat going moonbat on her old boss (watch the full video and the theory holds up)

Well…..

(Daily Caller) Zina Bash, the former Brett Kavanaugh clerk accused of flashing a “white power sign” earlier in the week, trolled spectators hard on Thursday.

Bash is a Hispanic descendant of Holocaust survivors, but at Tuesday’s Kavanaugh hearing she was accused of signaling to white supremacists because her hand was resting on her arm in an “OK” symbol.

On Thursday, Bash appeared to have a field day with her critics as she threw out another obvious “OK” sign while yawning during the hearing.

Yup

If you look at this tweet, which has it in full speed, it looks more like she was reacting to something stupid said by a Democrat.

NC Dems Seem Pretty Upset That ICE Might Want To Know If Illegals Are Registered To Vote

On one hand, Democrats say they are Very Concerned about the integrity of our voting system. On the reality hand, they want people who aren’t legally allowed to vote to vote for them

Democratic congressmen call for inquiry over DOJ, ICE voting subpoenas

A pair of North Carolina congressmen called Thursday on the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to abandon subpoenas seeking millions of voting records in the state and said they will call for investigations into the “legality and motivations” of the DOJ’s demand.

Democratic 4th District Congressman David Price and 1st District Congressman G.K. Butterfield said the subpoenas sent out late last week by U.S. Attorney Robert Higdon’s office, seem “clearly designed to disenfranchise and intimidate voters and to disrupt the administration of an impending election with major state and national implications.”

They said they’ll ask the inspectors general for the DOJ and the Department of Homeland Security, which houses ICE, to probe the issue. They’ll also seek committee hearings in the U.S. House of Representatives, they said.

A Republican who lost his primary fight and has a rather mixed record on immigration jumped in, too

U.S. Rep. Robert Pittenger put out a statement on the matter as well Thursday, responding to WRAL News questions.

“While I fully support appropriate investigation into voter fraud, ICE must also remember we are just 60 days from the next election,” the 9th District Republican who lost his primary earlier this year said via email. “Proper preparation for the next election is just as vital as investigating potential fraud. ICE should have a very compelling and justifiable reason to subpoena election records at this time, or should wait until after November 6th.”

There are plenty of squishes in the GOP who yammer about getting tough but are more in line with McCain and Graham in giving amnesty for fake security.

Nations Which Love Fossil Fueled Vacationing Want US, Others To Pony Up Climate Cash

Most of these nations depend on people taking long, fossil fueled flights for vacations

Australia joins Pacific to declare climate ‘single greatest’ security threat

Australia joined other Pacific island governments in a joint statement on Wednesday that named climate change as the major security issue facing the region.

At a meeting of the Pacific Islands Forum on Nauru on Wednesday, leaders signed the Boe Declaration, which recognised climate change as “the single greatest threat to the livelihoods security and wellbeing of peoples of the Pacific”.

The declaration also committed signatories to follow through on the promises made in the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change.

Australia’s new foreign minister Marise Payne signed the document. Her government recently deposed prime minister Malcolm Turnbull after he proposed moderate measures to bring down carbon emissions. Australia currently has no policy designed to meet the targets it set in the Paris deal.

The photo you see above is included in the article, which is rather climaironic, wouldn’t you say? Those promises mentioned are about climate cash (Boe Declaration link)

17. Leaders called on countries, particularly large emitters, to fully implement their Nationally Determined Contribution mitigation targets, including through the development and transfer of renewable energy, in line with committed timeframes. Leaders of Forum Island Countries called on the United States to return to the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

18. Leaders urged the expeditious progress of the work of the taskforce for the Pacific Islands Climate Change Insurance Facility.

They want money so they can continue to build out infrastructure for people to fly in for vacations. And just because they want some of America’s money. We’ve been pretty damned generous to nations around the world (who also tend to denigrate America). This is just another way to try and get more.
