Mitch McConnell Blasts Pelosi And Company As Having TDS

Trump Derangement Syndrome is a term thrown around by those of us on the right against Democrats and the #NeverTrumper loons, but you rarely hear it from elected Republicans, and certainly not from the Senate leader. But, Cocaine Mitch has to call them like he sees them (video at the link)

MCCONNELL: PELOSI AND DEMS ARE ‘SUFFERING FROM TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME’

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell claimed during a Monday interview with Martha MacCallum that Democrats are suffering from “Trump derangement syndrome.”

McConnell’s remark came in response to House Speaker Pelosi accusing Attorney General William Barr of lying to Congress.

“Speaker Pelosi said, based on Attorney General Barr’s testimony, she believes that he lied to Congress. If she believes that, what must she do?” MacCallum asked.

“That’s an outrageous assertion,” McConnell answered. “The man had a brief summary of the report, released all the report that was legally allowed to be released, put it on the internet. To call a public servant like the attorney general a liar is completely over the top. These people are somewhat suffering from Trump derangement syndrome. I mean, the investigation is over.”

He continued, “Why don’t we turn our attention to trying to see what we can figure out? What we can do together for the American people and not squander any more time? We have the answer.”

He is right, of course. The TDS is strong in Democrats.

They’ve lost, there was no collusion, nor obstruction. They bet all on red and lost. But, they won’t give up, and it will mean Trump’s re-election in 2020. But, is anyone surprised that Nancy and Chuck are infused with TDS, when their party is full of nuts?

Seriously, people who find garbage disposals terrifying and think there’s a monster living in their sink should really sit this one out.

Pelosi: We Cannot ‘Accept’ a Second Term for Donald Trump

Tuesday at Cornell University’s Institute of Politics & Global Affairs Tuesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Democrats could not “accept a second term for Donald Trump.”

Pelosi said, “We have to make sure — this will sound political but we have to make sure that the Constitution wins the next presidential election. We can’t be worrying about well, how long is this going to take? Well, that will take as long as it does. And we will press the case so that in the court of public opinion people will know what is right. But we cannot accept a second term for Donald Trump if we are going to be faithful to our democracy and to the Constitution of the United States.”

She added, “And that is just the fact. So we have to operate on many fronts. We have to operate in the Congress, in the courts, and in the court of public opinion, and we must win the next election.”

Of course, she and the other Barking Moonbats still haven’t accepted Trump’s first term. They cannot accept that he won fair and square according to the rules as laid out in the Constitution. They gave collusion and obstruction a whirl, to no avail, but, won’t let go, like a terrier at your ankle. They caterwaul about getting rid of the Electoral College, because how dare the WrongPerson win? They make excuses for the terrible candidate that was Hillary. They yammer about impeachment. Etc and so forth.

And they’re going to be really, really unhinged when he is re-elected. You think they were bad when Bush beat John Kerry in 2004? Brother, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Ocasio-Cortez to headline Green New Deal rally in Washington, DC

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) will headline a rally later this month in Washington, D.C., promoting the Green New Deal, a progressive proposal that calls for sweeping reforms to combat climate change.

The Sunrise Movement, a youth climate organization, is closing out its nationwide “Road to a Green New Deal Tour” with a rally at Howard University on May 13. The group announced on Monday that Ocasio-Cortez would headline the demonstration, which about 1,500 people are expected to attend.

“All over the country, I’ve been amazed by the enthusiasm for the Green New Deal,” Sunrise Movement co-founder Varshini Prakash, who has spent the last month on the road with the tour, said in a statement.

“Thousands of new people are joining the movement. From fire-scarred California to the flooded heartland, Americans are hungry for an economic transformation at the scale of what science and justice demand,” she continued.

So, why aren’t they demanding that Democrats in the House force a vote on this resolution? If it’s that important. Of course, it’s really all about Modern Socialism being installed from the top down, and all these Sunrise Movement folks who travel around would quickly find themselves restricted from doing so, as well as seeing the costs of goods and everything skyrocket. Their lives controlled.

NY Just Learned A Valuable Lesson On Blocking Pipelines

New York City recently passed its own version of the Green New Deal, which attempts to do away with natural gas. I wonder how that will work out? (via Hot Air)

The deranged drive to choke New York’s natural gas supply

Long Islanders were recently hit with bad news. National Grid, which provides natural gas for nearly 600,000 Long Island residents, announced it won’t be able to provide fuel for new customers if the proposed Williams Co. Transco pipeline expansion isn’t approved by May 15.

Earlier this year, energy company Con Ed imposed a similar moratorium on new natural gas service in parts of Westchester County due to limited capacity on existing pipelines. These crises are completely avoidable.

This isn’t the first time political hurdles and bureaucracy have stalled pipeline construction in New York. The Constitution Pipeline, which was to carry natural gas 124 miles from Pennsylvania’s booming shale fields to consumers in New York, has been stalled for six years despite being approved by federal regulators in 2014. New York officials have used their authority under the Clean Water Act to prevent the much-needed infrastructure project from moving forward.

For too long, politicians like Gov. Andrew Cuomo and their ill-considered energy policies have hampered the development of safe, efficient energy infrastructure, subjecting American consumers to unnecessarily high energy costs and unreliable service. According to the Global Energy Institute, since 2010, New York’s statewide ban on fracking and opposition to new pipeline construction have led to a loss of more than $22 billion in GDP, nearly 200,000 full-time-equivalent job years and almost $5 billion in tax revenue.

So you don’t want pipelines, eh? But you say you’d like to build more houses, apartments and office buildings? Well, you’d better figure out how to cook your food and heat your living spaces with solar panels pretty quickly because (to borrow a phrase from GoT) winter is coming. And so is lunchtime.

Actually, since a goodly chunk of people in these areas vote Democrat and Believe in anthropogenic climate change, yes, they should have to figure out a way. The same people whining about pipelines will get a chance to practice what they preach, and we’ll see how much they like it. The company that supplies natural gas to Albany should shut off the flow to the Governor’s mansion and State government buildings, let them figure their own way. Same goes for Con Ed in NYC: shut off the flow to all government buildings/offices.

There are real world prices to pay when Warmists lose their minds and block pipelines. It’s great when those actions hit home

Shocking: NY Times Says There’s A Crisis At The Border

The NY Times finally notes the reality of the issue, though they do attempt to throw cold water on one problem, but, hey, small steps

Congress, Give Trump His Border Money

President Trump is right: There is a crisis at the southern border. Just not the one he rants about.

There is no pressing national security threat — no invasion of murderers, drug cartels or terrorists. No matter how often Mr. Trump delivers such warnings, they bear little resemblance to the truth.

But as record numbers of Central American families flee violence and poverty in their homelands, they are overwhelming United States border systems, fueling a humanitarian crisis of overcrowding, disease and chaos. The Border Patrol is now averaging 1,200 daily arrests, with many migrants arriving exhausted and sick. Last week, a teenage boy from Guatemala died in government custody, the third death of a minor since December. As resources are strained and the system buckles, the misery grows.

Something needs to be done. Soon. Unfortunately, political gamesmanship once again threatens to hold up desperately needed resources.

The NY Times Editorial Board notes that the White House is asking for $4.5 billion to deal with this, but

While the request is light on specifics, it does draw some important outlines. Nearly three-quarters of the funds, $3.3 billion, would be earmarked for humanitarian needs, with much of it flowing to the Office of Refugee Resettlement, the agency responsible for unaccompanied minors. None of the money would go toward Mr. Trump’s border wall.

Several hundred million dollars would, however, go toward shoring up border security operations, including increasing the number of detention beds overseen by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE. This, for Democrats, is a nonstarter.

The debate over the permissible size of the detainee population has grown white hot. Democrats contend that the president brought this housing crisis on himself with his push to scoop up as many noncitizens as possible, rather than prioritizing those considered dangerous, as previous administrations did. Instead of asking for more money, Democrats assert, ICE should redirect existing resources to the border.

First, those showing up at the border do not go into the custody of ICE, but, rather, Customs and Border Patrol. Second, if you are here illegally and get caught, it doesn’t matter if you haven’t committed any other crimes. Federal law is clear on you being detained and deported. For all you Open Borders advocates, if you find someone living in your backyard illegally, are you going to call the cops, even if they are “good people who committed no crime (other than trespassing)”? Or do you let them stay in perpetuity?

Democrats and their groups are heavily involved in getting these “refugees” to put together caravans and head to the U.S., over-running our border and our immigration systems. They do not want to fund this crisis, but, you can bet they’ll want to keep all these low wage, low skill, low education people who offer little and take up lots of money that should be going to downtrodden U.S. citizens.

But, it’s nice of the NYTEB to admit to the crisis.

Gun Grabber Cory Booker Has Big Plans For Gun Restrictions

He’s throwing some big red meat to the unhinged Democrat base in an attempt to rise in the polls

Cory Booker now has the most ambitious gun control proposal of any 2020 candidate

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) sums up his ambitious new gun control plan in one sentence: “If you need a license to drive a car, you should need a license to own a gun.”

Booker on Monday unveiled his proposal to tackle America’s gun problem as part of his bid for the presidency, detailing a plan that sets a high bar for the rest of the Democratic field.

The plan from Booker includes the typical Democratic proposals: universal background checks, an assault weapons ban, better enforcement of existing gun laws, and more funding for gun violence research.

But Booker’s plan goes further by requiring that gun owners not just pass a background check, but obtain a license to be able to purchase and own a firearm. This is a far more robust gun control proposal than any other presidential candidate has proposed. The idea has solid research behind it, and real-world experience in nine states that currently require a license or permit for at least handguns, including Booker’s home state of New Jersey. (snip)

Booker’s proposal would require people to obtain a license to purchase and own a gun. To obtain a license, people would go to designated outposts — similar to the passport system — to get a federal license, administered by the FBI. Applicants would need to pay a fee; submit paperwork, a photo, and fingerprints; sit for an interview; pass a comprehensive background check; and go through gun safety training to get a gun. The license would be valid for five years, although it could be rescinded if someone breaks the law or otherwise proves to be a danger.

Much like in the District of Columbia, this would make it virtually impossible for law abiding citizens to get a firearm. First, it would take forever to go through the process. Where would these “outposts” be? How many? What would the fee be? What does the paperwork do and how much of it is there? How long would that interview take? Second, since this would now include opinion from those deciding from the interview, they can just deny most applications.

Then we have the notion that law abiding citizens are being treated like criminals to engage in their Constitutional right. Interestingly, the same liberals, like Cory, who want to implement this stuff also do not want to rescind residency for illegal aliens who have broken the law. Also, same Democrats are against any and all forms of identification to vote. Go figure.

But, if this managed to pass the U.S. Congress, the lawsuits would stop them in their tracks.

Beyond licensing, Booker’s plan would also establish a national database to register and track guns. This, again, is a key component of Massachusetts’s law: By providing a way for law enforcement to track all guns in the state, they’re also able to know which weapons to take away if someone’s license is revoked due to, say, criminal activity.

Of course it requires a database. Easier to take away your rights if they know what you have.

Also, perhaps I missed the part where you need to get fingerprinted and go through an interview to buy a car.

Climate Kids Wonder Why Adults Won’t Change Their Lifestyles To Stop ‘Climate Change’ Or Something

Kids Get Climate Change, So Why Won’t Adults Adjust Lifestyles To Give Them A More Livable Future?

Sixteen year old Greta Thunberg’s school strike on behalf of “the climate generation” seems likely to witness the beginnings of a grueling, traumatizing, potentially brutal heat-driven reversal of the human population boom. Why? Because we’ve continued to pack the atmosphere with a little more CO2 with almost every move we make, thus forcing heat higher and higher day after day after day. We’ve collectively waited too long before taking the situation seriously.

A study led by Susan Solomon found that the carbon dioxide we add to the atmosphere every day remains there for centuries, “so that atmospheric temperatures do not drop significantly for at least 1,000 years.” Kids of today and for for the next thousand years thus face heat-driven risks that are no longer avoidable, no longer preventable.

But the risks can be reduced. Will that be too much to ask? (snip)

Writing for The Age, one of Australia’s leading newspapers, journalist Caitlin Fitzsimmons tells her readers, “Let’s not pretend that children and teenagers can’t understand what’s going on.”  She reports that 86 percent of Australia’s surveyed teens view climate change as a threat to their safety, “with 73 per cent saying it affects the world ‘a lot’ now and 84 per cent saying it will affect the world ‘a lot’ in the future.”

But who is driving all this? Cult of Climastrology adults. They’re the ones who are indoctrinating kids, and driving Greta’s strike.

Yes, for sure, the corporations absolutely must get their act together to keep the kids from taking brutal hits. They bear clear responsibility for the emissions driving us all into dangerous heat, so they have to shoulder their own share of responsibility for softening the beating that kids will take from heat. But we had better not fall into the trap of thinking that that gets the rest of us off the hook.

And the reference to far-reaching change means that individuals and households will have to make many changes, not just the most convenient few. In her invited address to the European Parliament, Greta Thumberg cited IPCC’s reference to “all aspects of society,” and told Parliament members that “Everyone and everything has to change.” Then she said it again. “Everyone and everything has to change.”

Opening the garage door by hand or working a rake requires some real effort, effort that can be excruciating difficult to contemplate, let alone do. Going to a diet without meat can seem easy, compared to trading leaf blowers for rakes— or trading snowblowers for shovels.

But this is where a lot of rubber can hit the road, and trendsetters in asking too much will be critical to setting these seemingly little lifestyle changes into motion. Anyone can start leading in that direction now, without waiting for an Act of Congress. It will be difficult, yes, but not impossible to talk about setting electric can openers on the shelf, and using hand tools instead. Likewise for mashing potatoes or mixing a cake. The shift to hand tools as part of a new kitchen routine may seem like only a little help to the cause, but at the same time people can feel like they’ve been asked to do too much.

Well, Warmist parents, go for it. And don’t forget to stop giving the kids rides in fossil fueled vehicles. They can walk or ride a bike. Heck, non-Warmist parents of Warmist children should do stuff like this, show the kids just what ‘climate change’ policies bring. Limit their ability to re-charge their smartphones and tablets to two days a week, because energy will be really, really expensive, plus all the brownouts and blackouts, thanks to ‘climate change’ policies. Limit their shower time. Start “taxing” their allowances. There really are so many ways to make it personal in showing kids what their beliefs will bring, and will show them the errors of their ways.
