Ruh roh, FBI Director Wray just told the Senate that the Trump Campaign was not spied on.
How long before Trump/Barr fires him?
Just so the little 12 year old girl understands what Wray actually said about spying:
“That’s not the term I would use,†Wray told lawmakers on the Senate Appropriations Committee when asked if FBI agents engage in “spying” when they follow FBI policies and procedures. “Lots of people have different colloquial phrases. I believe that the FBI is engaged in investigative activity, and part of investigative activity includes surveillance activity of different shapes and sizes, and to me the key question is making sure that it’s done by the book, consistent with our lawful authorities.â€
Nicely put. Even a 12 year old could understand it.
Wray isn’t the one to make such a determination, first of all.
Second, he said, “I don’t think I personally have any evidence of that sort,” Wray said when asked if illegal surveillance had occurred”, so he’s weaseling.
Wray isn’t talking about anything but what he’s personally seen. Which means zip, given the corruption and politicization of the agency.
Tempest in a teapot, IMHO, but, if Trump wants to fire him, so be it.
Wray serves at his convenience.
Wray declined to discuss in detail the FBI’s investigation into the Trump campaign because of an ongoing Justice Department inspector general probe into the origins of the Russia inquiry. Barr has said he expects the watchdog report to be done in May or June.
