The Tarheel Tavern is a weekly blog carnival of North Carolina bloggers. Writers do not necessarily have to live in NC, but their posts have to be about North Carolina. The Tarheel Tavern home page is here. Previous hosts have been Science and Politics, Pratie Place, and Ogre’s Politics and Views. Next week’s host is up in the air. If you would like to host it, contact Bora, whose email address is on the Tavern home page.
On to the Posts.
First up, Ron of 2sides2iron, who is discussing Sexual Expression Inequality. It is a well written expression, which made me do some thinking when I first read it.
Chewie of Chewie’s World Order has an interesting piece regarding a recent Greensboro City Council meeting, which has alot to do with the Nazi/Klan murders in 1979.
Bora of Science and Politics introduces us to Teaching the Scientific Method.
Stewart Pittman of Viewfinders Blues explains the difficulties in blending in in a bar on St. Patty’s Day with a huge camera on your shoulder in Of Leprechauns and Lounge Lizards
George Peterson from Dirty Greek wants to Pop the Cap on the NC grog beer percentage law. I whole heartedly agree!
Ogre of Ogre’s Politics and Views explains why the Tarheel State is called the The Tarheel State. Learn something new every day!
Last, but certainly not least, Melinama of Pratie Place brings us a story of Don Jose Tienda Mexican. I call it mouth watering, and may have to drive on down to Carrboro and check it out myself. I am hungry again after reading the story!
As for myself, I just want to share a couple photos. First is from Umstead Park, in Raleigh, which I took with my new digital camera. The picture is untouched, except for shrinking it down from a huge size, at 1.9mb. I have been here since 2004, and, until this week I had never been there. Beautiful place. And much better then this.
One thing about NC, you will NEVER be bored with the weather. Snow, ice, sleet, rain, thunderstorms, tornados, hurricanes/tropical/extra-tropical storms, floods, too hot, too cold. I love it.
If I have missed anyone, except my apologies, and drop me a line. We still need a host for the Tavern for next week, so drop by the Tarheel Tavern and drop Bora a line!
