I wonder why the United Nations, Al Gore, and the rest of the anthropogenic global warming folks have been so quiet about their latest conference. Usually, I am pretty much up on this kind of stuff before it happens, as are a few other bloggers, but this one blew right by me
The latest round of international climate talks is under way in Bonn, Germany, as environmentalists warn that the United Nations predictions for a warmer world are too conservative. (snip)
Also to be considered, according to the Associated Press, is a carbon tax on airline tickets. With 2,400 participants from 172 countries and eight more meetings yet to take place (the next in Accra, Ghana), the delegates certainly have a large carbon footprint from all that air travel.
Well, Bonn is not as good an exotic vacation spot as Bali, but, maybe all the attendees can play Spy vs. Spy. Of course, most of them will probably want to be the Soviet secret agent rather then the American one.
Anyhow, seeing as how they are putting out massive amounts of CO2, the gas they blame all global warming on, it is no wonder they kept this one on the QT.
