Americans can’t handle their guns. Time to repeal the 2nd Amendment.
We must repeal the Second Amendment if we want this country to ever be safe again.
Whether it’s killings by police, like the 60 bullets fired into Jayland Walker, or by civilians like in Highland Park, Illinois, Uvalde, Texas, or Buffalo, New York our national record on gun violence is an international embarrassment. It can’t be reformed without doing away with guns entirely.
Hmm, people acting criminally (and we don’t have all the facts on Walker yet) is a reason to disarm law abiding citizens? Are cops to be disarmed?
States like California and New York that have tried to set restrictive gun laws can do little when guns are trafficked in from other states. What’s more – legislative attempts at restricting gun rights were recently shot down by a Supreme Court gone rogue.
We’re way beyond what the framers ever had in mind for gun rights already. And for a selective originalist Supreme Court conservative majority, it’s hard to justify glossing over the history behind the Second Amendment.
Much like we did away with the 18th (prohibition) when it no longer served us, it’s time to do away with the archaic constitutional amendment holding Americans hostage in their own country.
It’s time to say, “Hey, hey, ho, ho, the Second Amendment’s gotta go.”

Americans can’t handle their guns. There were a whopping 692 mass shootings in the United States last year, according to the Gun Violence Archive, which defines mass shootings as having “a minimum of four victims shot, either injured or killed, not including any shooter who may also have been killed or injured in the incident.”
The vast majority of them occured in the Democratic Party run cities which are so often soft on crime.
In order to get rid of the Second Amendment we’d use Article V of the Constitution, which sets out two options: Congress, through a joint resolution passed by a two-thirds vote, or by a congressional convention after petitions from two-thirds of the state legislatures, could propose the amendment.
Good luck with that. You won’t get 2/3rds of state legislatures to propose, nor 2/3rds of the House or Senate. And, she forgot to mention that it then requires a 3/4ths vote of the states, either via the general assemblies agreeing or having a state convention. Good luck with 38 states. Democrats only control around 16 state assemblies. Do they think they can get 22 more?
Meanwhile, California is looking to get sued
(Stockton Record) Gun makers and dealers in California will be required to block firearms sales to anyone they have “reasonable cause to believe is at substantial risk” of using a gun illegally or of harming themselves or others, under a new law that Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Tuesday that he had signed.
It’s a subjective requirement that goes farther than current background checks or prohibitions on selling guns to people prohibited from owning them.
The regulation is part of the new law creating a good conduct code for gun makers and dealers that also allows anyone who suffers harm from violations to sue.
In most cases, how would they know? Gun makers mostly do not sell directly. It’s an attempt to make dealers afraid to sell, and put them out of business, denying citizens their 2nd Amendment Right.
Let only the cowardly police and Govt. agents have guns?

Legislatures around the country have greatly increased penalties for violent crimes, because that is what the public have demanded, but then prosecutors hand out lenient plea deals, a guaranteed conviction in exchange for letting the criminals out early, basically taking away the will of the people, as expressed through their elected representatives, and allowing the criminals back out on the streets, many of them while still in their prime crime-committing ages.
Of all advanced nations, the US has the highest homicide rate by far!
As we’ve said several times, slaughtered school children are a small price to pay for freedom. We just need to accept that fact.
There are more accidental deaths involving firearms in the US than TOTAL HOMICIDES in many other advanced nations.

In 2020 the homicide rate in Australia was 0.9/100,000; in the US it was 6.2/100,000.
Since more guns lead to less crime, it’s confounding that the US is plagued by so many homicides.

It is true that, in the United States, the majority of mass shooting perpetrators have been white, but planned mass shootings make up a very small percentage of homicides in this country. The City of Brotherly Love hasn’t had a single ‘mass shooter’ in quite a while, but, through 11:59 PM EDT yesterday, there have been 32 murders in Philadelphia, with 289 as of the 193rd day of the year, 1.497 per day. (While the link doesn’t show it, the number was 257 through June 30th, and 289 – 257 = 32. I is a mathematician!
The vast majority of shootings in Philly have been with one or two victims at a time, most one black gang-banger (or wannabe) shooting another black gang-banger (or wannabe).
According to the city’s shootings database, as of June 11th — it won’t be updated until around noon today — there had been 98 recorded shootings in Philly, and in 67 of those 98 shootings, the victim had been a non-Hispanic black male, one an Hispanic black male, 3 a non-Hispanic black female, 13 Hispanic white males, and 3 Hispanic white females. There were two Asian males shot — and both killed — and the rest of the victims were non-Hispanic white. Yet Philly’s population are only 38.3% non-Hispanic black.
Note: this was the first time I have seen a black victim also listed as “Latino” in the city’s database; every other black victim I have seen listed has not been indicated as being ethnically Hispanic. Due to that, I have some doubts as to the accuracy of the reporting in that regard.
Somewhat closer to the distinguished Mr Dowd’s humble abode, the St Louis police reported that, thus far this year, there have been 92 murders in the Gateway City, with 70 of the victims being black males, and 17 black females, with 3 white males and 2 white females killed. All of the 59 identified suspects are listed as being black.
Last I heard, St Louis was only 44.5% black.
So, I guess I have to ask: are black males all “right-wing ammosexuals”?

This is really such a good idea. The problem is that no one is leading on this, just making demands that other people should pay the price. If the Government, state, local, and federal, disarmed themselves first and lead the way, then the people would see the light and follow. If the government isn’t willing to disarm themselves, then we can all conclude they think disarming is a REALLY BAD IDEA, despite what they say publicly about it. We can then also conclude that the political activists pushing gun control are lying to us on this issue, just like the Left
lies to us about every issue.
Actions always speak louder than words. Leftist activists and politicians (and most on the right too) are only words. Real leadership on any issue is rare.
