I was highly amused by the piece by a supposed “denier”, because we all call ourselves that (sic). And then there’s the reality that the article is on the very far left TruthOut. And, really, how many on the left are already believers in Hotcoldwetdry, and have always been? Much like warming over the past 15+ years, the number would be statistically insignificant
I suppose it wasn’t really until I was standing on the west side of Hoboken, N.J., in water and oil up to my thigh, that climate change really made sense. Does this hardcore progressive writing make you think that the writer, Yotam Maron, used to not be a Believer in AGW? Reading further, it seems that he was more of a “eh, this isn’t my issue” rather than a non-believer. But, now he is, and wants Everyone Else to believe and to kill Keystone, stop using fossil fuels, etc.

It was a “professionally” written agitation piece designed to be spread far and wide to create an appearance that a former “skeptic” now Believes, much like we get those “used to be a Republican” articles written by people who are registered Dems, vote dem, donate to Dems, etc.
Don’t forget those lefties and Dems who go protest as if they are a radical far-right in order to spread hate and racism. They get to apologize for saying “stupid” things, yet Repubs are never allowed to have foot-n-mouth syndrome sometimes. Media claims that those misstatements by Repubs are in the Repub heart, but the open and angry public statements by Dems pretending to be Repubs, aren’t?
I suppose we all like to see someone from the “other side” convert to “our side”. But the left seems to be so desperate for such converts that they’re constantly putting forward these fake converts. This fellow, Andrew Sullivan, Cindy McCain, etc etc. People who say “I used to be a conservative but now I’ve seen the light”, or, “I’m a die-hard conservative, but I just can’t support the Republicans/Tea Party/whatever when they say …” But very, very often, when you look into these people, it turns out that they were never conservatives to begin with.
Oh, I’m sure there are some number of people who used to be conservatives but switched to become liberals. I guess they are very, very few, though, or liberals wouldn’t be constantly parading these phoney converts.

It is we, the Realists, that proclaim loudly that the climate DOES change, that man DOES have an effect upon his climate – mostly local, but can have a wider impact. But, as to how much man has an impact upon the global scale of warming that is currently underway following our leaving of the last ice age is under debate.
