Harry Reid: We Need More Money To Keep Obamacare From Becoming A Train Wreck

Sorry, Harry, Obamacare was a train wreck even before it was passed, and no one has bothered to close the track since

(The Hill) Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) says he shares colleagues’ concerns that the Affordable Care Act could become a “train wreck” if it’s not implemented properly.

Reid warned that people will not be able to choose health insurance plans on government health exchanges if federal authorities lack the resources to set them up and educate the public.

“Max said unless we implement this properly it’s going to be a train wreck and I agree with him,” Reid said, echoing a warning delivered last month by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.).

Reid warned the federal government is not spending enough money to implement the law because of Republican opposition to ObamaCare.

And there you go: it’s the Republicans fault. It couldn’t possibly that HHS run by a Democrat is incompetent. It couldn’t be that no one who voted in the affirmative for the bill read it. It couldn’t be that a 2,000+ page was so devoid of actual details, being more of a rough outline, that it has generate over 16,000 pages of new rule and regulations, and their still not done. It couldn’t be that they never thought that States not run by Democrats would say “no thank you, we aren’t setting up YOUR exchanges, do it yourself”. It couldn’t be that the idiots who voted for Obamacare lied out their posteriors in regards to the costs. On reflection, Republicans should take the credit for doing all they can to stop the implementation of Ocare.

“I believe that a country of our size, the only superpower left in the world — it’s not right that we have 50-60 million people … with no health insurance,” he said. “We have to have a program where health insurance shouldn’t go to people who are rich, people who are upper-middle class. I believe the middle class and people below the middle class deserve to go to the hospital when they’re sick.”

So now it’s 50-60 million? Is that a typical Democrat exaggeration, or is he looking at all the people who have lost insurance because of the terrible economic conditions and jobs losses due to Obama/Democrat policies along with all the people who’ve lost insurance due to Obamacare?

Anyhow, we’ve gone from the law supposedly costing $900 billion over ten years (yet supposedly being revenue neutral) to costing around $2.5 trillion over ten years. And it hasn’t even be implemented yet. The rules haven’t all been written. The people who sit on the death panel, er, Independent Payment Advisory Board, haven’t even been nominated yet. And the more we know about Ocare the more we hate it. The taxes, many of which will affect low and middle class Americans. There are so many issues it’s hard to list them all.

Yet Harry Reid wants more money, mostly because of the piss poor way Democrats have worked to implement it and because they didn’t appropriate enough to start with.

The ripple effect is what is amazing and what the politicians will not even acknowledge. The main thing Obamacare did was to destroy medical care. I can see that happening every day as I go to work. But the secondary effects are destroying the economy and the US. Take for instance the fact that unemployment is still sky high (real number likely over 15%). A large amount of this is secondary to the fact that businesses are hampered in expanding the work force due to this stupidity. That alone would not be as bad, but then the Fed is on a mission to reduce unemployment by printing money. That reduces the power of our dollar, and in general is undermining our ability to accumulate and keep wealth. Inflation has not crept in yet, but I predict that is only because people are not employeed, or if they are, they are underemployed. At some point, inflation will hit fast and hard. If they eliminated Fed regulations and Obamacare, then the economy would recover, but they want, and it want.

I agree David. Obama-doesn’t-care is a travesty and only purpose is to destroy the US. It will not end well for us unless we repeal it\kill it before 2014.

It was built on lies, corruption and bribery. It’s intent is for graft and destruction.
